Blue screen then all programs close.

I recently began having a problem where my OS restarts at random times. I'm running snow leapard on a Macbook Pro that I bought in mid 2007.
A light blue screen will suddenly appear, flicker a few times, then the OS starts back up and all of the programs I had open are closed.
It's beginning to disrupt my work, as you can imagine.
More often than not, it happens while I've just navigated to a new page in Chrome. Autocad or one of the Adobe Suite programs are usually running in the background when it happens?
I've browsed the support communities for an answer but can't seem to find anything.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Drive could be failing or some other part is starting to go bad.
Take it to a genius bar and have it checked out.

I would suggest resetting the iPhone with this process:

If you have a G5 then it's a PPC (Power PC) based iMac, this is an Intel iMac forum. Try the Gray screen appears during startup link for troubleshooting steps. I suspect the HD has crashed.

I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. My MacBook pro was running fine then it went very slow, I got the spinning world but it would not do anything. I tried to restart but it had frozen, so I turned off the computer by the power buttton. Now it won't boot up, it justmfreezes with a blue screen in safe mode. I have tried booting isank blue user mod and running /sbin/fsck -fy and a couple of other suggestions from various discussion boards but nothing works. I just tried booting up in windows and it works fine, with access to the mackintosh HD.
Any ideas on how to fix the mac side??

S10-3t. Help, my computer crash & blue screen almost all the time

I have problem with my new bought S10-3t, it comes with pre-installed win 7 home premium. I am not sure if it is coming from the hardware or software, but it does crash and blue screen a lot and almost every time. Especially when I am trying to update windows (it always require me to reset it back to factory setting after did this).
Btw, I have uninstall some of the bloated software that came with the system and I also installed Norton Internet Securtiy on it. I have also done one recovery restore many times and the problem still persist. Now I am wondering either I should return it back to lenovo or keep it because I am sure its going to be a hassle to return it back

Systems should be tolerant of some software changes - not know what all you have removed, how you removed it (deleting files vs uninstall) and when the problems started in relation to the changes you made it's going to be difficult to provide an easy answer.
You say you've used OKR.   Have you shutdown the system and started up with the recover button and selected the option to restore to factory state?   If it won't do this, then either the hard disk is corrupted and you are going to need service, or you have a memory or systemboard issue in which case you are going to need service.
I would recommend trying to recover completely to factory state, and failing that, to call technical support and log your case. (save the WNxxxxx number).   If service recommends repair, you can either send it to the depot and see if they can fix it, or contact sales and arrange for a replacement. In order to work through sales, you will need to have called service and have that service case number handy.

IMac stuck at blue screen, then finder

Hi, I've searched for the forums for this answer but haven't found anything. Sorry if this has been discussed already.
I'm a user of a 24' white iMac with 2.16 GHz, 300 GB HD. I have 4GB of RAM installed from OWC.
Early last week I started having problems with my iMac. Nothing specific, just a general slowdown and stutter in programs that should have run fine. Things like typing for 5 seconds and waiting for it to show up, scrolling in iTunes would sometimes hesitate, etc etc. The strange thing is I noticed no substantial slowdowns in heavier programs like WoW, Photoshop and Aperture.
I ran Onyx maintenance on it with no real discernible difference.
Today I returned from a weekend of non-use, and when I tried to start it up it got stuck on the blue screen after the grey startup screen. I tried a safe boot, but for whatever reason it didn't recognize my keyboard and was still extremely slow. I finally got it to boot up normally, but it didn't load any desktop items, dock, or anything else. It just showed the finder bar. I clicked on all the available bars (finder, file, edit) with no response.
Any ideas on how to go about troubleshooting this problem?

It sounds like it might be a problem related to the hard drive, with three possibilities.
(1) It is too close to being full - Mac OS X needs free space on the startup drive.
(2) There is disk directory or other type of data corruption/error.
(3) The hard drive is becoming faulty.
If you are able to start up and operate the computer, back up at least your personal data, if it is not already, before doing anything else. If the problem is (1), move or delete some data so that you have at least 10% of total capacity as free space.
Otherwise, restart from your Mac OS X installation disc (for the installed system). Note if it is running normally when you are booted from another disk. At the first Installer screen, go up to the menu bar and select to run Disk Utility under Utilities. Use +Repair Disk+ on your internal drive. Note if any errors are reported, and if any are reported, if they are repaired.

Back up and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.
For the charging problem:
Inspect the charging port area for dirt/debris/fluff build-up that may be preventing a good connection and use a wooden toothpick, soft clean toothbrush, or a can of compressed air to clean it. Also look for bent or broken pins. Try another cable and/or charger block (be sure to always use a genuine Apple certified brand) in a known good outlet. If you're using a USB port, try another port. If you're using a hub, try a direct connection. If you're using a USB port in the front of a desktop computer, try one in the back. If all these fail, make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have the device evaluated.

I also have the same problem. It started almost a week ago. This issue have began after updating to iOS 7.1. The most interesting thing is that I have five 5s phones with the same level of iOS and this is the only one with this problem!!! What happens with Apple that cannot resolve something that is reported in some phones since iOS 7.0.3.???
All the five 5s phones were aquired 5 months ago, so why we have this problem, and just with one of our phones??

Firefox crashes MY COMPUTER!!! When I open it, my computer BLUE SCREENS then turns off!!!

Within the past few months, I have not been able to use Firefox at all. It started crashing my whole computer, making the whole thing go blue screen before shutting down, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled it TWICE, the second time sacrificing ALL OF MY BOOKMARKS, and even after that, it STILL CRASHED MY COMPUTER!
