Blue Screen then Shutdown. Device Driver Download?

After connecting my ipod touch the computer continually shuts down and restarts. The emachines tech said to download a device driver from the manufacturer but I am unable to find this on the apple website. Any suggestions on the next steps to fix it?

i encountered this this weekend when i installed my iTouch on my system. i ended up updating my iTunes application at the same time so i wasn't sure if it was the software update or adding the iTouch. (i have seen some issues with iTunes updates in the past.)
i ended up removing all Apple software (iTunes, Apple Software Updates, QuickTime, etc), unhooking all external devices and scrubbed the registry (registry cleaner application) but my system still continues to reboot.
Unfortunately the system doesn't provide a specific driver name -- my system didn't do this prior to this installation so it is definitely tied to iTunes update, iTouch installation or both. i will need to check on the text code (i'm currently at work and my system is at home) but the event log had the following...
Source: System Error | Category: (102) | Type: Error |Event ID: 1003
Description: Error code 00000050 ...

MY IPHONE 5 GOES TO BLUE SCREEN THEN RESTARTS ...... IS THERE A CURE?

    Hello Jerryg1960,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
I would suggest resetting the iPhone with this process:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
IF the issue persists, and you cant otherwise use the phone, you may need to put the phone into recovery mode and restore it from a backup in iTunes.
iOS: Unable to update or restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you can still use the phone save for this issue appearing occassionally, I would backup the device and restore it with iTunes.

  • I have an iMac G5 stuck on the gray screen with spinning gear.  I woke up to it being stuck on a blue screen, then force quit and now it's stuck on gray with spinning gear.

I have an iMac G5 stuck on the gray screen with spinning gear.  I woke up to it being stuck on a blue screen, then force quit and now it's stuck on gray with spinning gear.  Please advise.

If you have a G5 then it's a PPC (Power PC) based iMac, this is an Intel iMac forum. Try the Gray screen appears during startup link for troubleshooting steps. I suspect the HD has crashed.

Iphone 5s is switched off and then shows a blue screen, then yellow then white

I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them  the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

    Has the iPad been dropped?
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Early 2011 2GHz Macbook pro distorted blue screen then wont boot, 3 times in last 2 weeks

I have an early 2011, 2GHz macbook pro (15' model with ati radeon graphics). It was running fine for the last two years. Over the last couple of weeks, following things happen:
    1. I was running on bootcamp windows, browsing and some flash content was open, suddenly distorted blue stripes appear and it froze. Force shut down using power button, turn on again and it wont boot on windows or mac, or recovery partition or from the dvd. Tried for about 4 hours, after nvram, pram reset, it was able to safe boot, then run disk utility to verify and repair the disk, it said that there were problems with hard drive and fixed, then booted normally.
    2. I thought that the problem might be because I was on windows, so took a back up of the windows drive, erased it and installed windows 8 using bootcamp. It ran well for an week. After that, once I connected it with the tv using HDMI to watch a video, after I disconnected it, the screen was garbled over the windows start screen, but I was able to command restart normally. After restart, it wont boot to windows or mac.
    3. After several hours of trying, i was able to boot using the dvd this time, it said it 'can not install mac on the hard drive', erased the hard drive and it was able to install the os (snow leopard). After completing install, logged in to app store to download previously purchased mountain lion. Then ran it to upgrade the os, after the upgrade was completed, at the point when it prompts for apple id and password to set up icloud, it again froze with distorted blue screen. Shut down forcefully. Then turn on again and it wont boot. After the white screen and the sound, it shows the apple logo and spinning wheel for a while, then a bright white screen and nothing happens.
Can anybody help reading the symptoms?

I have the Early 2011 2GHz Macbook Pro and I have the same problem too.
I switched out the logicboard a month ago and today the graphics just went distorted.
Any solutions? Now I'm thinking it is the Graphics Card.

  • Mac only boots into Windows, then blue screen, then shuts down

I just got a new MacBook Pro in January (and this is my first Mac) and purchased Windows 7 to run on it. I've successfully run it since then, but just last week my computer froze and now when I try to restart it, it goes to the black "starting windows" screen and then immediately flashes to a blue screen for only a few seconds that says:
    CACHE_MANAGER
If this is the first time you'v eseen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps.
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manfuacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to selected Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
    Technical Information:
    * STOP: 0x00000034 (0x00000107, 0x00000420, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

    Initializing disk for crash dump...
    Beginning dump of physical memory...
Dumping physical memory to disk: 100
I tried booting my computer up in safe mode, but it doesn't work - goes to the same blue screen and crashes. I also tried the "startup repair" tool, which did not find anything to repair, and the option to restore the computer to a previous time when it operated, but that didn't work either. I tried the memory diagnostic and it did not find any problems.
When I boot it up, I try holding down the option key, I only get the option to start up in the Windows partition of my drive. There is no option to start my computer using the Mac OSX drive. I think this is an issue with Windows, but I'm not sure if it could be an issue with my Mac operating system or hardware.
I appreciate any help someone can provide!

I'm suffering from the same bug, and I think it's related to Apple_HFS driver.

  • My Ipad is just over a year old.  I just got a blue screen, then it shut down.  I pushed the power and screen buttons together and it came back, but then went down again and now I can't get it to power up.  Any suggestions.

Can anyone help with the blue screen I just got.  Tried to power back up like one Apple user suggested by holding the power and screen button together, came back briefly, then shut down.  Now nothing.  Any help?

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • Blue screen then all programs close.

I recently began having a problem where my OS restarts at random times. I'm running snow leapard on a Macbook Pro that I bought in mid 2007.
A light blue screen will suddenly appear, flicker a few times, then the OS starts back up and all of the programs I had open are closed.
It's beginning to disrupt my work, as you can imagine.
More often than not, it happens while I've just navigated to a new page in Chrome. Autocad or one of the Adobe Suite programs are usually running in the background when it happens?
I've browsed the support communities for an answer but can't seem to find anything.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks much!

Sounds like a hardware problem. Drive could be failing or some other part is starting to go bad.
Take it to a genius bar and have it checked out.

  • Repeating mouse freeze followed by blue screen then back to normal

Hi guys, if anyone can help with this, I'd really appreciate it... it's really driving me nuts! Every few minutes, my mouse freezes, the screen then goes totally blue for a 10-20 secs. The screen then goes back to normal for a second or two then back to a transparent blue screen (showing my desktop etc. behind it) for another 10-20 secs then back to normal after maybe one or two more flashes of blue screen. It's got so bad that I can't use the computer any more.
    It's a G4 (2x1.25Ghz) with mirrored doors running 10.3.9 with 1GB of RAM
    Thanks,
    David.

There are so many things that there is no clear symptom or cause as to why the system is partially hung.
I would familiarize myself with the system, buy a book (or two) starting with "Mac OS X: The Missing Manual"
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/resources/
About This Mac... more -> System Profile
will display memory condition, log files (system, panic, etc)
Depends on how much memory, what you are doing, whether you have a driver issue, or maybe a corrupt preference, font, directory.
Unlikely it was a parity error, but if it was a kernel panic, it would not leave it up to your imagination, it would be in clear black and white.
You could run your Apple Hardware Test; Disk Warrior (or just Apple's if you haven't yet bought DW).
Backup and boot from another drive to run repairs.
I would be more concerned over lack of a UPS and a power issue/outage or 'brownout.'

  • Blue Screen:Startup & Shutdown

    Hi,
I'm getting a very quick blue screen during Startup and Shutdown.
I've only had the Macbook for a few weeks, and don't recall this happening until recently.
    Is this normal?
Thanks in advance for any constructive advice!

Hi , I'm having the same issue too. When I switched on my macbook pro , a white screen with apple logo in centre appeared & including a loading icon turning. Then, it follow by a bright blue screen & change into lighter blue screen. This blue screen process took about a few seconds before it brings me into my window screen . (This happen for shutdown too) I tried to google for this issue but couldn't find a better answer.Hope it's not some software issue. I just bought it 2 weeks ago. Hope to hear some advise from this forum. Thanks.

  • Blue screen on shutdown/restart

My PM has frozen with the blue screen and gearwheel on a couple of occasions recently. This appears to be associated with a general system slowdown after Aperture has been running for some time.
I did a search of the firum, and the closest I could find was this thread, which related shutdown problems to network drives. While my PM is on a network, these problems have only occurred with system slowness and Aperture.
I checked the console logs, but I really don't know where to start.
What diagnostics can be run to identify the cause of the problem before I start trying disk repair etc?

    Hi, Nigel.
You might want to treat the "freezes and hangs" problem similar to a kernel panic as the basic troubleshooting and hardware testing steps are virtually the same. See my "Resolving Kernel Panics" FAQ.
    Good luck!

  • MSI GT780r blue screen then raid 0 fail

I know a Lil bit about CPUs but not a whole lot.  Basically got blue screen reset CPU then booted up it said raid0 failed to load.  I deleted the raid 0 partion to try and reinstall but it wouldn't let me.  Then I reset CPU again the msi logo flashes 2x and then black screen with no operating system found

Although I applaud MSI's reach for performance with the raid 0 set up, raid zero doubles the chance of harddrive failure because you have two drives that could fail.  Given that harddrives have abotu a 5% a year cumulative chance of failing your looking at 10% (aprox) in first year.  Add to that the additional problems associated with a laptop based drive (ie shock, heat) and you are probably anywhere at 15-20% failure likelyhood in first year.
The first thing I did when I got my comp is disabled that.  If you ran two solid states it would be a lot safer but I would prefer stability to performance at such a high cost.

  • Ralph, help!  (with "does not respond" message)

My mom said you were the go-to guy on this issue. We have been using iChat AV for video conferencing for about 6 months. Then I switched ISPs, from a cable modem to DSL. Have not been able to make it work since -- we get a "does not respond" message.
