BLUE SCREEN Toshiba satelite laptop computerC855D S5110

Hello,
Im new to this forum, and I hope somebody can please HELP me. Since I upgraded my Toshiba satellite C855D-S5110 laptop to 8.1 it was slow, freezing and crashing, and @ times mouse would move but my screen was frozen, so I finally had it, and decided to back everything up and do a system restore, actually I first attempted a refresh, but I received a message it was unable to do refresh, I don't remember reason, so I did a whole restore, I have the backup restore cds I created when I purchased my computer  in APRIL. I have done everything exactly as they have told me, I have 3 cds. I inserted the first CD as instructed, my drive opened and said insert next disc I did that then, it seemed to start to work, but then my computer shut off and nothing happened, I restarted my computer and now Im stuck with this BLUE screen...IT SAYS RECOVERY...OUR PC NEEDS TO be repaired.... required device not accessible...error code0xc000000f...press enter to try again....you need to use the recovery tools on recovery media(that would be wonderful if when I inserted disk something actually happened) press f8 for startup settings and so on, the only place I am able to get to other than this Blue screen is InsydeH20-SETUP UTILITY...i HAVE READ EVERYTHING and attempted everything I could find to try I have shut everything off unplugged everything removed my battery, I have restarted hitting f8 and f12,0 key, and any other key I seen someone else try I must have shut it down and restarted it 100 times, bc i read someone say it may take several tries ..I have literally been working on this all day...PLEASE I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU

It's possible that there's a hardware failure of some sort that would require servicing. You might want to call customer support at (800) 457-7777.

I'm having the same issue with the same wireless card in my work laptop.
Can you tell me which driver version now works for you?  I don't see any updates, so I might be on the latest right now (15.3.1.2).
The hotspot worked on my previous laptop, but I just got this replacement and the BSOD appears every time that I try using my Droid Incredible 4G.
    Thanks!

I recently purchased Norton stuff and loaded it but dont know how to do all that stuff you said to do.
    okay.
was that Norton Internet Security 2006? if so, right-click on the yellow ticky-Norton thing down in your task bar, and select "Norton Protection Center". click the LiveUpdate button. install everything it says is available at LiveUpdate. restart the PC if it asks you to.
open Norton Protection Center again. click on "Norton AntiVirus". click on "Scans". click on "Run full system scan".
once that's finished, and you've dealt to everything that shows up, do a spyware scan. if you don't have an antispyware program, download and install the free trial version of Ewido, and scan your PC with that.
    ewido anti-malware download
once that's finished, and you've dealt to anything that shows up, go to the Symantec website (they make your Norton), and run one of their online virus scans. they take an eternity, so you may want to do that overnight:
    Symantec Security Check
to do a disk cleanup, go "start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup"
to run chkdsk (that's a disk checking/repair utility in Windows), close all active programs, go into My Computer, right-click on your hard drive, select "properties", click on the "tools" tab, and click the "check now" button.
to do a disk defrag, go "start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk defragmenter"

  • "Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap (Wdf01000.sys)" and a Blue Screen appearing frequently on my Windows 8.1 (64-bit) laptop and laptop restarting all of a sudden.

Hi I am Arka Dey. I am using a
Windows 8.1 64-bit single language Dell laptop. Recently I have installed an update to my Windows 8.1 (X-64) operating system from the "Windows Update" available in the "Control Panel" section of my laptop.
But from that very day when I installed the updates, my laptop started behaving weird sometimes.
The problem is while I am using my laptop, a
blue screen suddenly appears and it says, " Your PC has run into a problem and needs to be restarted." Along with it there is
written the following message: " You can later search for this online - Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap (Wdf01000.sys)".
After displaying this for a few seconds in the blue screen mode, my
laptop automatically restarts. This has been happening for sometime for the past few weeks. I do not understand the meaning of the message displayed in the blue screen and nor do I know the reason behind its occurrence. Please help me with
a solution to this irritating problem as I am not a student of computer related sciences and software technologies. Neither am I that tech savvy. So please do help me with a guide or set of instructions to solve this problem of mine. The detailed specifications

    Hi roberto-
Yes, its a shame. I have also contacted lenovo support hoping that they can sort out this problem. However, first response from them was 'contact your internet service provider since internet connectivity goes down'! :-/ I am hoping I have been able to get through to them now at least about where the problem lies. I wonder if anyone has tried using the laptop with the same broadcom wireless adapter with some other version of OS (linux, windows 7 etc.) and whether they still face the same problem. I haven't tried that yet. If this is just an OS / driver issue I hope someone somewhere is working on a fix! If not, I guess the only other solution would be to get an external USB wifi adapter but that is not something one would want to do when you buy a brand new Lenovo laptop. This was a big let down for me.

  • BB Desktop Software causes Blue Screen at Windows XP

    Hi,
I'm using BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.35 at Windows XP over Lenovo X201 laptop. When I try to sync the adressbook or calendar between my BB(Storm II 9520) and my laptop, it often causes blue screen at my laptop.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the desktop software but the blue screen occures again. But, the same version of Desktop Software at Windows VISTA over HP pavillion Desktop doesn't cause similar problem.
Please kindly let me know how can I fix it or please check if there are any defects at your Desktop Software.
If you need, I can send the screenshot to you via email.
    Best Regards,

Just unisntall this version and install the desktop version 5.1. That will not give you blue screen infact it is fully compatible with xp

  • Red blue screen

    Hello,
Recently while working on my laptop and using a quite large tv as a second monitor, I suddenly get this plain blue screen on the laptop and a plain red screen on the tv, no text on either one. They then glitch, and for lack of a better word, the displays begin glitching into switched colors(you can see the desktop behind this acting like an old tube tv with the vertical gone crazy) until the tv had a plain red screen on the laptop and a blue screen on the tv. This hangs for a couple seconds until I shut it off because it hurts my eyes and the computer reboots and the computer tells me that it is checking a disk for 'consistency'. It appears to fix a few errors and then boots regularly. Should I be slightly concerned, or should I run away screaming?

Stop errors (also sometimes called blue screen or black screen errors) can occur if a serious problem causes Windows 7 to shut down or restart unexpectedly. You might see a message that says, "Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer."
These errors can be caused by both hardware and software issues, and it can be difficult to troubleshoot the problem. The following tools and methods can often help get Windows up and running again.

  • Dmp files and blue screen

I recently began experiencing blue screens on my laptop computer after I tried to upgrade to Windows 8.1, unsuccessfully at first. Truncating the issues occurring, I had to do a system restore, refresh, and another system restore, and eventually upgraded
to 8.1. After the first restore, I incurred blue screens when I tried to use a dial-up USB modem to log on to the Internet. It took over 3 months to identify the source. As it turned out, the culprit was my Internet Security Provider which had been upgraded
to the 2014 version from the 2013 version. 4 other drivers were being blamed as the culprit. Eventually, the Internet security provider took remote access on my computer and corrected their issue - which took over 2 hours, corrections to regedit, DOS, and
    reinstallation.
That being said, before I knew this, my Windows 7 desktop computer(dial up modem - internal) was upgraded from 2013 version to 2014 (Trend Micro). I think I got a minidump about that time. Windows 7 does not announce the blue screen event
the same way Windows 8 or 8.1 does. I again experienced another blue screen day before yesterday, and a minidump file was created and a temp file. Sometimes my desktop has frozen without creating a miniedump file, so I need to restart. I again suspect the
culprit might be the Internet Security provider.
I have a link but am not being allowed to submit it until my account can be verified for some reason.
I am hoping I did the upload correctly and that you might be able to identify the source of my Windows 7 blue screen.  This is the first time I have ever used Sky Drive (now One Drive).  I haven't yet been able to figure out how to read the
    files myself.
     Thank you.

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to spot trends and confirm the cause.

  • Wireless WRT54G2 Blue Screen

Hey, I'm looking for some help.  Last week I installed this new wireless router in my house, replaceing an old linksys router.  Everything seemed to be working fine until after about 10 minutes I get a flash of a blue screen and the laptop restarts.  I have gone back, unistalled and reset the wireless router back to factory settings and reinstalled and got the same thing happening.  I turned off the internal wireless and restarted the computer and nothing went wrong.  I waited for about an hour and then turned on the wireless card.  Then the screen came back.  Do I suddenly have a bad internal wireless card?  Is there something wrong with my computer?  Is there something wrong with the router?
I have another laptop that I did not use to set up the router that seems to be working fine with the new router.  It's just the original laptop that's having trouble.
Any insight would be great.  Oh and I've also gona back and done a system restore to before I installed the new router.  Doesn't seem to be helping either.

do you think that's the problem or do you think my internal wireless modem card is bad?

    @Telis13
Ok since you have managed to get into safe mode. You can try removing the the video driver and reinstalling the driver from the HP Support website.
    HP G62-b90EV Notebook PC Drivers
Be sure to select the correct operating system for your notebook and download the updated driver. I am assuming that you will do this on another computer and transfer the driver to your computer using a flash drive or some other usb removable media.
After trying that then reboot the computer and see if the problem remains. IF it does then try the things from my previous post. If the system restore does not work for you, then I would recommend backing up the contents of your hard drive to another driver and then perform a a system recovery.

  • Blue screen crashes

I keep getting blue screens and my laptop crashes.
I tried a repair start this morning and it told me to Disable BIOS memory and stop oxooooooie , 05,08 and 00
I'm not very technical and haven't got a clue what this means. Any help please

    Hi judyd,
    I am supposing you mean
“If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced
stratup options, and then select safe mode.
    Technical information:debug code“
If you are not equipped to debug this problem, you should use some basic troubleshooting techniques. If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters. Check
with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates.
To debug blue screen issue, it may help to look at the minidump files from the crashes with a debugger.
You could zip up the minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and make available via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site.

... and the cleaner program. Use the 'cleaner program' to remove the installed drivers, reboot, then install the new drivers, reboot again and hopefully that fixes the problem.
What is this `cleaner` program? Could you please give an example to download & install it?

I was hoping you could help me out here.  I have been experiencing persistent blue screen of death problems on my Toshiba laptop since December 21 of 2014.  The first two times I started having theses persistent issues, I downloaded a bunch of redundant programs and games onto my computer, some of which were virus infected.  I had these programs on my computer for a while before my laptop was taken in for repairs.  I eventually uninstalled some unnecesssary programs from my pc, hoping it would have fixed these issues, even tried windows update.  I didn't have a clue that my problems were due to virus infections/malware until the two most recent times my computer was taken in for repairs; I had always been thinking it was a defective driver.  My laptop has already been in for repairs at least twice due to these perpetual BSOD problems; I had Norton Internet Security installed on my pc before the Geek Squad team (who repaired my computer and found 312 traces of malware in my system during the virus test; I was told by them that I had mistakenly downloaded infected web browsers onto my pc) switched me to Webroot SecureAnywhere (they said it was better at detecting viruses/malware than my NIS), but even after my pc has been through repairs twice in a row, I am still experiencing blue screens (this only seems to have happened once each week, and on one occasion, I went through almost two weeks without it occurring).  I am pretty sure, that I haven't downloaded anything onto my computer infected with viruses/malware (each of the scans done by my Webroot antivirus have found nothing), I have only a few games/apps installed on my pc, and what I downloaded all came from Microsoft's official website.  I can't afford to be wasting any more money on repairs, and I am desperately searching for any possible way to fix this myself.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have a copy of two of the memory dumps from my most recent crashes (I also have the dump reports from my most recent crashes dating back to March 6; I got these from an app from NirSort called Blue Screen View, if you need those)  I also have my system specs:
    http://1drv.ms/1I6AsaE
    http://1drv.ms/1Qdsb7T
Note that many of these earler dump reports (the ones from March) came from viruses.  The ones from most recently as last month, I am not sure about.

Thrashing about this way gets us nowhere.
Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents.
Settings > Change PC settings > Update and recovery tab > Recovery tab > Remove everything and reinstall Windows
Use the freshly restored machine for a day or so before any installations of hardware, software, or updates of any kind. If you get no crashes, the problem is not likely due to hardware.
Then add updates and other things slowly, keeping track of them. If you get crashes after that, give us the corresponding dmp files.

  • Blue screen of death after ram upgrade on a Toshiba Satellite C655 laptop

I ordered an upgrade for a Toshiba Satellite C655(PSC08U-02D037) running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I've trying for a month to get this to work consistently. When I first installed it, it worked fine for the first few days, but then after that I kept getting an error that would pop up "Display has Stopped Responding And Recovered" and the screen would flicker turn to black for a second. It didn't happen a lot at first, but then it got progressively worse to the point that it would crash my browsers, and sometimes when I tried to play certain videos, I would get the blue screen of death, and then the computer would have to restart.
I updated my bios, graphics drivers, I checked to see if maybe I failed to install it properly and reinstalled it, no avail. Finally I just took the ram out, and then I stopped having these issues. Which leads me to believe that it may have something to do with the memory upgrade. I ran the scanner as suggested when I was looking to upgrade, and what was recommended was a ( System 2gb DDR3-1600 Sodimm 1.35v CL11 ) ram stick part number CT6316802, which is the one I ended up ordering. I'm not sure what else to do but assume that what I ordered is either defective or just doesn't work with my laptop.

    Hi jinjoe,
I am sorry for the issues you are experiencing with your upgrade. How is this memory installed? Is it just one module or did you purchase two? Did you install it with any exisitng RAM? If you have two modules have you tried installing one module at a time? This would help us determine if the issue is with one defective memory module or both causing the issue.

Hi,  I have thousands of pictures and my iPhoto app is starting to stall and freeze.  I'd like to reduce the size of the library by creating a new one ( which I've done) and then moving my picture albums from the older library into the new library.
