Blue screen with Lightroom 3 and Beta 4

I have had some program closings and blue screens from the first use of Lightroom 3 on this desk top, but it is getting worse. I am wondering of there is a comnflict with some of the components. It doesn't happen on my laptop which is an older dual core running vista 32 bit. This is the spec on the desktop and the lightroom info. Any thoughts?....Thanks

My Ipod Touch was updated wtih new updates. It is now froze on a dark blue screen with an apple on it. Then a loading bar with nothing loading. I can't get it to turn off, or anything. Not sure what to do next.

did you try to reset the ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again? If this is not working, connect in recovery mode and restore.

HELP! iMac not starting up ... blue screen with folder and blinking ?

my imac is not starting up. when i turn on the computer, i get a blue screen with a blinking folder icon of the finder and a black question mark. i can't move anything or type anything.
i have tried powering down and powering back up with holding down the option key, but all i get is a screen with two buttons with a curved arrow and a straight arrow. however, i can't click any of them!
i don't know what to do and i need major help! can anyone help me? i don't want to spend the $49 again for a simple fix.

Blue Screen with Lightroom 5 - Multiple BSOD Codes

My computer has been extremely stable for the past few years without a single BSOD... Until recently when I updated LR4 to LR5.
After a good 15-20minutes within the program, all of a sudden it will BSOD. It does not happen doing ANYTHING else with the computer, including gaming such as FSX and other simulators which can be very heavy on the GPU/Memory/etc...
I ran memtest and it passed... No problems there.
HD Tune on my HD's, no errors.
I reduced my overlock to be sure it was not a voltage issue or something, but same results.
Prime95, passed.
I tried doing a "Repair" with the LR5 installer file, but it still happened.
Not sure what to do next... I am running:
Windows 7 - 64bit professional edition
Intel i7 2600K CPU
16GB DDR3 Ram
570GTX GPU
Lightroom is running off my 120GB SSD Drive, with it's catalog on my 2.5TB internal HD (one of a few).
Updated my GPU drivers (clean install) and ran windows driver verifier to make sure all drivers were "proper".
I have a very important shoot I am trying to process and this is a big bummer right now... Again, been using LR4 every since it was released and never had a BSOD... Right after I upgrade, it starts happening once things start get a bit demanding (quick editing or quick adjustments). I have not noticed a trend when it does crash, but it may have something to do with the crop and/or straighten tool... I have noticed it has BSOD on me when doing some of those, but I believe other times as well. I will make sure to pay attention from now on to report any reliable trends when it happens.
Any help? Not sure if there may be a bug out there or I just have to keep looking at hardware/drivers... If so, some suggestions would be great.

Still no luck trying to cure my BSOD issue...
I tested each RAM stick with Memtest individually.. All passed... Ran them all together, passed.
Ran Intel Burn Test on "maximum" and it passed all 5 trials... No issue at all with CPU/Memory.
As stated before, I tried doing a repair install of LR5 and that did not help. I notice it happens with LR starts to get "overloaded" a bit... Scrolling through many images quickly or doing quick adjustments. That is when it tends to lock up and throw a BSOD.
The only thing I can think of is the GPU, but I never have any issue with other software, nor did it ever have any problems with LR4. I have been using the same GPU for years now. Reinstalled old, stable drivers via clean install and that did not help either.
Not sure what else I can possibly check... Each time the BSOD error is something different. The last error was "System service exception" and the one prior was "Page fault in nonpaged area".
Since all my harddrives tested out fine, the CPU and memory using stress tests... I wonder what is left? I will try finding and running a GPU test next I suppose. Sucks that it ONLY happens in LR5 though, nothing else.

I'm having same problem in develop module which is laggy as hell compared to LR5.8
Library module is fine but develop module is slow as hell....5 seconds to make ANY adjustment.

Yes, or you can simply restart. As you don't have the CDs, this isn't on the plate any more.
The internal backup battery is not expensive and, in most iMacs is user-replacable. If yours has a tray-loading optical drive like this one:
it takes a major teardown to replace the internal battery. If this is the case, you'd be better off to leave the computer plugged in all the time; that eliminates the main reason for having a working battery.
If it has a slot-loading optical drive like this one:
things are much easier. The battery is visible through the RAM access door on the bottom of the computer case. The manual:

has sketches of how to access the RAM and therefore the backup battery. Unfortunately, the pdf on the manual goes up sideways on-screen and the RAM instructions are pretty deep into the manual. It's probably easier to scroll (for a while) to the section on adding RAM and print the applicable pages.
When you work on the battery, some sort of non-conductive pliers or large tweezer or forceps help unless you have tiny fingers. Make sure to note the polarity of the old battery and install the new one in the same orientation.
The battery itself is readily available. If price is no oblect, you can get it for a small rasom from Radio Shack Store ("Tandy" outside the US) as part number 23-026.
Online, they are dirt-cheap even after adding shipping. I buy backup batteries form this outfit:

I have just bought Lightroom 6 and downloading went as axpected. Although the most of the modes worked well the developing mode did not show the picture but instead a blue screen with a cross over it. I have downloaded the program twice and it is still the same error. I thing their is a error in the program you are selling.

I have a two and half year mac book pro... I've had some issues with the screen looking scrambled when I quit certain applications, but now it's turned into something worse. I'll be working on my computer and the thing will freeze. When I force restart, the first screen, the apple logo, will be a blue tint and won't boot up normally. Then I try safe mood and it will then boot just fine. But there are blue stripes on my screen. The screen alternates from a blue tint to normal and if the computer freezes again the screen will become completely blue with black stripes. I haven't tried reinstalling my software because I don't have the startup discs that came with my computer. If I was sure that would fix it I would purchase them, but if it's a hardware issue I'm afraid that I'm screwed. I've been able to successfully get the blue off my screen by putting it to sleep and then waking it up, but that's not working well anymore either.
Does anyone else have experience with this? Is it the firmware or what? I have a MacBook Pro from early 2011 and I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

Blue screen with error code and I have no recovery disks for HP Pavilion dv6-1260se

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1260se with factory installed operating system of Vista. When booting up the computer, I receive a blue screen with this error message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}.
                                                            The verification of a KnownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpectedly with
                                                             a status of 0x0000221 (0x007fb9c0 0x00000000).
                                                             The system has been shut down.
I do not have recovery disks for this computer. I tried to order them but them seem to not be available. This is my daughter's computer. She says she started to have trouble after downloading Frost Wire (music share) and then she removed it. We tried going back to an earlier time and that didn't help and then the blue screen with error message appeared. What do I do now?

Assuming your in the US, recovery discs are available to order for that model here. That may be the best option.
You should also be able to do a recovery without the discs as well. Take a look at this document: Recover Windows Vista Operating System Using HP Recovery, and look for the section Restore the PC to its original condition with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible. This should allow you to recover the PC.

Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, and see if that fixes it. BTW. detailed computer and OS info goes a long way to solving problems.

(Please note, I'll refer to the machine as a Server, but it is only using 10.4 client; I am merely using the Sharing capabilities of such).
I have a MDD G4 that I'm using as a server. When I start it up, I get the Blue Screen with Cursor (BSwC) at boot - and it never goes past that. (Can't move the cursor either).

I've also tried AppleJack and clearing out caches, zapping PRAM, etc. All the standard fare.
It will boot into safe mode just fine, and it is still acting as a server just fine.
I have also tried Multiple Users (to no avail).
I tried a reinstall of Tiger, which, interestingly enough, didn't give me the option for Archive and Install and Preserve, but instead only gave me the option to Upgrade (hm, from Tiger to Tiger). While this fixed nothing, the server continued to work after this.
Then I had the bright idea to install the OS to the 2nd drive I had within. 'Surely this would work,' I thought. But alas. It did not. In fact, clean installation, new disk, (and yes, I booted from this 2nd disk), the same BSwC problem.
So, please, Dear Apple Support Discussions, let there be someone out there smarter than I (I'm really not that smart, but I do follow instructions well).

How long did you wait for the blue screen to go away? I also have a iMac G5 2GHz ALS.
My computer has been having a problem where on the first boot of the day, it it would hang in the gray screen for about 1.5 minutes and the blue screen for about 4 minutes. I thought it was permanently hung but discovered that it would eventually present the login screen. I could then login normally but none of my firewire external drives would mount. I could restart over and over and the same situation would be present.
Resetting the SMU seems to cure the problem and rebooting would be quick and all firewire drives mounted correctly. I could then reboot as many times after and normal behavior of the iMac would be repeatable.
However after having the system down for several hours and restarting it, the problem would be back.
I have now moved all my firewire drives to a powered hub and will watch over the next day or so to see if that changed anything.

The MBA is trying to tell you that it is not able to find a bootable system
Either the file is corrupt or access to the storrage has failed
I would start by seeing if it will boot with Command + R depressed
