Blue Smart Cover - Some grey on the inside, others are blue??

Hi,
A friend of mine bought a new Smart Cover for her iPad. She got the BLUE polyurethane version.
On the inside, her's is blue also. But i've noticed other people's (esp' on YouTube) are grey on the inside.
It's not a fake because it was bought from Apple.
Does anyone know why this is?

Personally? If I were buying a case I'd look into a portfolio case. All around protection with the convenience of a smart cover...and there are quite a few out there that aren't very bulky at all.
I have a portfolio case, and I also have a Zagg Folio and I don't think I could ever keep my device with just a smart cover. It gets tossed in my bag too much to leave it that unprotected.

Strangely enough the pref file did not show up in the Preferences folder. I don't know what this means but it could be signifigant.

If your printer does duplex printing (i.e. you're not re-feeding the pages manually), there may be a setting in the print dialog. My Brother color laser has these option when I check the two-sided box. If you see something similar, test the various options & make a note of what works. It took me so many tries to figure out what they meant by long- or short-edge binding!
If you're using something like CocoaBooklet or another program to create a booklet, see if it has an option to turn the second side upside down.

Is there a way to have my iPad Mini's Smart Cover open up to the lockscreen instead of unlocking it?

I'm using 32gb iPad mini 1st gen, which is running iOS 8.1.2. I have a Zagg Keyboard Folio Smart Cover.
My "lock/unlock" option in settings is on, and works just fine, but while I want my iPad to lock itself automatically I do not want it to UNlock—just turn the screen on upon opening the device.
I DO NOT want to use a passcode to do this.
I found a thread posted three months ago on Reddit (will link soon) which said this was possible with a "iPad cover unlock" toggle setting in "General," but I cannot find this option in my settings.
Does anyone have any ideas? It bothers me in the most insignificant manner possible, but I would like to change it if I can.

You cannot set it to unlock only. It's both or nothing.

Does using the magnetic smart cover affect the ipad by causing stripes of interference lines over the screen, then when opening and shutting would revert to a normal home screen, But repeatedly does this lines on screen effect and then eventually the whole screen goes white!

It's nice, but I noticed that it doesn't stay closed against the screen, it slides off very easily, and I'm afraid will come off in a bag and turn it on and off by accident. Please help!

it depends on when you bought the smart cover -Apple changed the polarity of the magnets on the new iPad - Smarcovers bought in late 2011 or 2012 should work - those bought before then will not - for awhile Apple was offering exchanges for free on smart covers that dont work on the new iPad - dont know if they still are - you can call an Apple store or Apple online

TS2634 Smart Cover has stopped locking the screen

When I open my cover the usual lock screen is no longer there. I have a apple brand Smart Cover, I have the option turned on in the settings. I hear the audible click when I close the cover, and the screen does go black. Started about a four days ago, I haven't noticed any excess battery drain as a result. Tried to contact apple about the problem but you may have noticed not the easiest company to contact support wise.

Why can't I have the Windows Media Player plugin in firefox? Why is that there is a page maintained on Mozilla that links to some port25 for plugin whereas other are available directly from firefox?

I am sick and tired of going to 3rd party websites and install plugin that have malware and virus. Need to have this Windows Media player plugin from Firefox directly.

Thanks, but again, I'm either missing something or Firefox is being finicky. I play videos on Apple.com just fine thru Firefox, so the QuickTime plugin is apparently working. Of course, I didn't try every video on Apple.com so it's possible I picked the few that worked. And with some serious massaging I've actually been able to get Firefox to play low resolution .mp4 videos. Videos rendered at 256x144 display in the HTML5 video player in Firefox. Videos rendered at resolutions greater than 256x144 do not display in Firefox. At least, these are the results I'm getting....I suspect others may be getting different results.
This isn't a file size thing because a 512x288 .mp4 video is actually less than 1/2 the size of the lower resolution 256x144 .mp4 video, and yet Firefox does not display a 512x288 .mp4 video.....again, for me anyway. This is beyond confusing, but thanks for the suggestions. You are correct - Firefox does NOT support .mp4 videos (most resolutions) in the HTML5 video player....for some unknown reason!

I have reinstalled my OS without time machine (using the disc). I want to restore some pictures in the iPhotos which are already in the time machine i was using previously. How can I restore iPhoto from previous time machine?

My mac book was incredibly slow. When I went to Mac store, they asked me to reinstall the OS with CD and not with the time machine. I reinstalled the operating system. But when I opened the applications, all those started as fresh applications as usual. I have the backup of all other data in another hard disc. But unfortunately, I forgot to copy the photos before reinstallation. I have those photos in my time machine back up. But when I opened time machine, it started like a fresh (very new) time machine and it started backing up my present OS (the reinstalled one). I cannot open the previous time machine, which is in the same hard drive. I wish to open the previous time machine to get the photos which are backed up previuosly. When opened the time machine disc (manually by clicking the icon), i can see all the thigs which I had previously in my macbook. But unfortunately, i cannot access those through time machine! Can anybody help me please?

How to redownload purchased apps from the App Store

Put a music cd in my imac to download earlier in the day, came back later in the evening now it wont power up from going to sleep, can hear some movement in the cd drive area but no power or screen?

Does anyone have an idea what is up with my imac. I put a cd in it earlier in the day to download into itunes, left for work and came back to it later in the evening. When I tapped the keboard to to wake it up there was no power, no screen, only a light sound that came from near the cd drive area on the right. I've un plugged it and pluggged back in several times. After that I hit the power button, again I could hear a light sound comming from the area near the cd drive almost like it's the hard drive trying to power up or the cd spining in the drive. It will continue to do this over and over until I either unplug or hold down the power button.

Nothings happening, tried the mouse, tried the keyboard, nothing. I followed the instructions for resetting the SMC and the only thing I get is the light sound I describbed in my earlier message. The more i listen I don't think it's the cd drive, I feel like that would be a little louder than the sound I hear. What I'm hearing sounds like a light spinning sound almost like the hard drive when yo click the keyboard to wake it up, except it keeps doing it over and over again until I unplug the mac. When I plug it back in, it will not make the sound until I press the power button on the back.

Some apps in the SmartSound unzip are disallowed by Windows. Is there a newer DL?

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running? Just background for any subsequent questions that need specifics.
Is the SmartSound.zip in the following Adobe document the one you are trying to use?

If so, that is the one and only download that I have ever come across and no problems have been reported to date concerning the integrity of that download. SmartSound has been discontinued in Premiere Elements 12 which now has a feature called Music Score which is similar in principle to SmartSound but not SmartSound.
Have you disabled the antivirus and firewall or written permissions to complete the task?
Please supply more information.
