Blue spots and lines on photos

Hi, i just discovered these on my iphone photos:
http://www.anony.ws/i/bmem.jpg
look in the middle of the photo, anyone know what this is?
the lens is completely clean and totally unscratched
could this be something covered by my warranty?

Every iPhone 4 I have used has this same issue. You can try to get a replacement but you will likely see the same effect. Note that this is more apparent under certain lighting conditions. I've noticed it more under fluorescent lighting. The camera on the iPhone 4 performs at it's best under natural light.

Generally speaking, with the spot healing brush and/or the clone stamp tool. However, there are other methods as well.
It would help if you post a representative picture for us to look at. You can do that via the camera icon at the top of the reply box. However, you can not do it in an e-mail reply.

    Hi guys.
I've had my MacBook Pro for 2 years now. Last night it suddenly kept glitching to a dark grey screen every now and then, then it would flash yellow / blue spots, and now it won't go past the grey screen even when I reboot it.
I don't think I can access my disk anymore as I've moved across countries since I've first gotten my laptop.  it was working perfectly fine before  it kept going to the dark grey screen with a little blue on the bottom.
If it helps, my camera light is still on, and it seems that my computer is working properly itself, but won't go past this grey screen.
I'm a college student and am really panicking about this - can anyone please tell me what to do?
Thank you & sorry for the long post.

What operating system are you running on it? (iOS 5.1 is for iPhone, iPad...not a Mac).

If you're taking shots of just the moon then the exposure value won't change all that much day to day.  I recommend shooting in full manual, use the same settings that you used that gave you images you liked as a baseline.  Low iso, nice middle aperture, and adjust shutter speed to fine tune the exposure.  The next day you start at the same settings and adjust the shutter speed slightly if needed to account for a change in brightness.  Good luck, have fun.

  • Simple Annotations and Lines on Photo

Is there a way to add simple lines and captions to photos using iPhoto or any other standard program on the Mac? Something as simple as Windows Paint would be fine.
There must be something that comes standard with the Mac that can do it.
    Thanks,

No = nothing on the Mac

  • Faint blue speckles and lines appear all over printed documents, Laser Jet CP3525dn

    Dear Toner Problem Community,
Every time I print, faint blue speckles appear all over my document.  When I print in mass, blue lines also begin to appear at around page 34, and double blue lines begin to appear around page 62.  I performed "Process Cleaning" three times with no difference.  Someone suggested vacuuming out excess toner, but I pulled out the cartridge and don't see any excess toner.  Please help.  Thank you!

    Hi PrepressPro...
Many thanks for your earlier inputs, but not quite sure where you got the idea that i want someone or anyone to play detective... i've understood the Overprint problem... and moved on. If anything, maybe i was just musing and wondering if any particular action turns on "Overprint Fill"...
Or maybe, i was referring to the second question which has not been resolved yet... Quoting it below for easy reference:

    The other issue...
Same black background(s)... placed  Photoshop file/s with a transparent background... Prints fine at the  printers (various machines and media) ... But on the laserprinter an HP  Color Laser Jet CP1510 series, there's a dark patch around the image  (the actual file area).
    ++++
To elaborate, the pix above are product shots which have been cut out and placed on a transparent background... The PS file is then placed in AI CS4 with the object option selected to maintain transparency. The transparent area is printing darker on the printer above. But is fine when sent to commerciqal printers...
Attached is a scan of the problem...

  • Color blocks and lines im Photo

I just got Aperture 3. When I look at my pictures for just a few seconds they are clear then different color blocks appear in the picture. They are not present in the thumbnails only when I open a picture. Also I can open the same photos in iPhotos with no problem. If I have both iPhoto and Aperture open it does it in both programs. Apple replaced the mother board on my MacBook Pro and they say this is not a hardware problem. I'm not so sure.
Does anyone know how to fix this.
    Thanks.

When I have Aperture open it appears to affect my whole system, I’m wondering if it is the same on your system? I have checked activity monitor and am not using all my RAM although I appear to be using most of it. I am going to try a clean install and see if this helps.

You might want to download something called an undelete utility. These can find files and recover them even after they appear to have been lost. There are some undelete utility programs that are free. Look at tucows.com
Also, it appears that you have POSSIBLY overwritten the actual files, which you moved manually, with I don't know what, which you moved in PSE's folder location view.
Next, in the future ... NEVER (that's: don't even think about it) move your photos in Windows. NEVER. NEVER. Not ever. Not once. This always (that's ALWAYS, as in 100% of the time) causes problems and usually makes things difficult to fix.
Lastly ... make regular backups! I must say this in the forums about seventy bazillion times a month. Make regular backups! Regular depends on how often you take photographs and edit them. Since my photographic activity usually happens on the weekends, I make backups every Sunday night. You may need a different schedule, depending on your activity level. MAKE REGULAR BACKUPS!

  • Making a slide show and can only see the top 1/4 of the bottem line of photos in the project.  help?

I am working with beat markers and it was going along fine until suddenly everything went awry.  I dropped in a bunch of photos and the last photo assigned itself a time of over 3 minutes.  Beat markers are at less than 1 second.  I have removed the beat markers for the photos I want to remove, in order to try again.  When I try to delete the 3 minute picture the entire project loses its beat markers AND on top of all of that, I can only see the top 1/4 of the pics in the bottom line of the project.  I've tried several work arounds and can't fix this.  Anyone have suggestions?

my ipod touch has been of for ages and now has blue squiggly flashing lines...is it broken or can I do something ?

    - First try resetting your iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then restore the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problems persist, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    -  If still problems you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Question on Spot and Patch Tool

    Hi,
I don't know if it is not knowing how to use it properly or not, but I have a great deal of trouble with that tool sometimes. I have a difficult time getting a spot/patch to blend properly. For example, if I take out a dust spot, sometimes the patch or spot looks too plain with no noise, so it doesn't blend in properly. I have tried fiddling with the softness and other settings and sometimes it gives an acceptable result(usually an area of constant colour range like blue sky), and other times it just doesn't seem possible to get it to blend in properly?
Is this a limitation of the tool ?

I used it last night for the first time - it works best for removing obvious blemishes - it would take ages to remove lines etc - a lot depends on the source for the patch - has to be virtually identical to the area one wants to amend. I used it to great effect to get rid of a giant dribble from the chin of my 2 y/o daughter - took some pixels from the bid and hey presto dribble gone and hello bib - it would be v useful to get rid of eg stains on a dirty bib (you can see what my main subject is these days) also on a face getting rid of a zit or similar - as for lines I think that is v delicate work and not sure it is suited to that - of course I could be wrong.

  • Bright blue spots/dots on zen microphoto front scr

Hi, I just bought my zen micro photo 3 days ago at best buy. I turned on the player and noticed two bright blue spots/dots on the front panel as the creative logo appeared. These spots are really tiny (maybe abt pixel), but they're highly visible under dark background (i.e. the creative start logo and dark photos). And those spots are on the center of the screen! Other than that screen problem, everything works fine and I am very satisfied with my zmp purchase. So, my question is whether those blue spots are nornal? does anyone experience the same problem? I just find it annoying to see those blue spots whenever I turn on my zmp, especially that my zmp is brand new out of the box. Should I just exchange it's

    Hi,
Sounds like a dead pixel. You mention its in the centre so it's fairly prominent so it's probably for the best to replace it. If you do decide replace this ensure you do so quickly. Stores have a seven day period for returns and after this they can sometimes be difficult.

  • Empty blue spot in exposé

    Hi Apple friends,
I have a weird empty blue spot in exposé in Snow Leopard. Sometimes there are more than one.
When I click it, the application name is not revealed in the menu line; it just returns to whichever application I came from.
I tried to be systematic in terms of which apps I have open, etc., but doesn't seem to yield anything for me.
Any of you experienced this / know what to do about it?
Put a screen dump at http://ruwald.com/bjorn/images/empty_blue.jpg
    Thanks in advance
    Bjorn

    Bjorn,
Some things to try if you have the time:
    1) To confirm that the Exposé blue square is tied to something added to your user account, create or start up in another account and test using a few of the default applications such as Address Book, Font Book, iCal, iTunes, Safari, and TextEdit . If needed, see: Mac OS X 10.6 Help Creating a new user account.
    2) As you have recently upgraded - from Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.6? - check to see that you have the most recent versions of the additions and that they are compatible with Snow Leopard.
    3) From the link to "MainMenu may show phantom window in Expose"
. . . try removing or disabling other system add-ons and menubar additions to see if that helps.
    4) If you are able to find the item / items which result in the blue square, you might contact the developer or the developer's forum to investigate further.
    5) You mention Chrome which has two Evernote Extensions. This link reports an earlier issue which seems somewhat related to your experience. It may be a false trail, but I thought it worth your review. Some replies include a link to a screenshot.
Is anyone getting weird Expose issues when using Chrome for Mac?
Google Chrome, with no extensions installed, does not show a blue square in Exposé.

  • 27" LED Cinema Display, blue spot

    Hello,
On my (brand new) 27" display there is a blue spot (1 cm) visible, location 8 cm from above and 30 cm from right, typically on photos with a black background (space/universe). The intensity spot may be varied with the brightness settings but will not disappear entirely.
    Any ideas of the cause?

Hard to say what may have caused it, but sounds like it might be worth a trip to a service provider to take a look at it. Depending on the size of the spot (a 1 cm spot should be large enough), it may need a repair. With a brand new display, you would certainly be covered under warranty.

  • G4 has blue screen and I still can't get it to login...HELP!

I went to the store and when I returned I had a blue screen with my mouse pointer that could move. I read tons of post on here and tried everything such as resetting PRAM, bought a new battery because like threads said, I too would push the power button and it would flicker and not turn on. I would have to unplug the power cord just to be able to get another try. If I didn't, nothing happened. So then I borrowed my Aunt's Leopard CD she had from her iMac and tried booting off it (holding down the C button) and nothing. I get a message stating that I can't boot off of that disc? After letting it sit for a few hours I was finally able to get past the blue screen and access Disk Utility. I tried repairing the disc (i have 3 plus the backup drive) and I get past that. I then select Verify Disk Permissions and get a "FIRST AID FAILED" Message saying Disk Utility stopped repairing permissions on "HD" because the following error was encountered. The underlying task reported failure on exit. So then I run across a thread saying that it could possibly be a admin user or password problem. I remember just before the blue screen that I was indeed researching on how to lock a folder on my desktop as well as my back up drive. So I followed the instructions and powered it on while holding the apple key + S key and typed in mount -uw /
    rm /car/db/.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -h now
Now when I turn it on it starts up just like its brand new. However, I can't get past the part where it ask if I want to transfer information from another computer or Hard Drive or do it later with Migration Assistant. I have tried starting it and holding down the C key and nothing happens - I get the gray Apple screen frozen. I have held down the Option Key and restarted and selected both the HD and Start Up Disk which both have a little blue X in the corner if that helps and same results. Before trying to start up using the disc i forgot to mention I tried restarting it pulling each of the RAM drives out and putting them in different locations and that did nothing. And FINALLY! The last restart prior to posting this I have a bunch of lines across the Purple Galaxy Screen that says:
System Failure: cup=0; code=00000001 (Corrupt Stack).
Latest crash info for cpu 0:
    Exception state (sv0x29d85280)
Backtrace terminated - frame not mapped or invalid:
    Any ideas from here?

Whoah boy, lots of things here and I have to make supper...
I'll choose a few at a time. "RAM drives"
RAM drives? Do you mean hard drives? Do you mean RAM chips?
If hard drives, did you put them back in the same order? Multiple hard drives in one machine often need to be jumpered correctly when you move them about.
If chips... It's too difficult at this stage to tell if it is hardware or software. If hardware it could be chips, and that error at the end had a vague chip ring to it. One way to test for chips if you have extra chips is to pull all but the minimum required to boot and see if it boots.
You mention a backup drive. This wouldn't happen to have a clone of the operating system on it would it?
    4 drives... All internal?
From all you've said it could be hardware or software. Blue screen could be software but failing hardware can corrupt a drive, messing up the software.
Boot discs. It sounds like you have no boot discs (CD. DVD) for this computer, right?
What computer are you using right now?
