Blue spots on Zen Micro scr

Recently, a number of blue spots have appeared on my Zen Micro screen. These spots are there even when the player is off, and they're all clustered around the center of the screen. Any idea what they may be, or how to get rid of them?

If they appear even when the screen is off, then it sounds like something is physically under the screen, like bits of dirt or dust. Make sure it's not something that's just stuck to the front by wiping it with a cloth.

  • Never heard of problem? Dust in my zen micros scr

im recently new but i've had my zen micro for 6 months aprox and about 3 months ago i dont know how but i think dust gets in and its is very aggrivating making it block up what ur screen says i've tried blowing on the sides but it just fogs up and disappears other then that i havent been able to do much and customer support has been useless through my emails .other problems besides that are the touchpad getting scratched revealing the blue back ,battery reducement, caseing getting scratched up it seems but it looks like its inside the back cover and i usually never take it out and the headfone socket being loose and it switches ears unless i put it ina certain position i was wondering if i still had warranty and would it cover that?

dude i also get dust in my screen! not fair...i've been looking everywhere for a solution and i cant find anything
then try harder.use the search function. there are some threads in this forum about the dust in the display.
to sum them up. dust comes from your pocket. like there is everywhere sand when you come from the beach. to avoid it, you have to use a case for your ZM.
there are two ways to clean it. one is to open it loose your warranty and clean the display with a soft brush. the other has something to do with high pressure air and blowing the dust away, but I think SSR can tell you more about this.

  • Zen Micro Frozen on " Zen Micro " scr

    HELP
!!! My Zen Micro will not boot up past the screen that reads Zen Micro. I tried shakeing it as I read here but that didn't work I also tried the tapping on the side and that didn't work either. What can I do? Thanks

FIRST OF ALL STOP HITTING IT!!!
It is a HARD DRIVE player!!!
This means hitting it may cause the HD's head literally CRASH on the disc completely and uterly destroying it!!!
Now, if it isn't already too late try this:
    Remove the battery.
Move the switch to the "on" possition and KEEP it there while putting the battery back and it boots until it shows a "Recovery Menu" screen.
    Then Select the FORMAT function.
CAUTION, THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING ON THE HD, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKED UP EVERYTHING!!!
    Then select the reboot.
If it stiLl doesn't work download the latest firmware ( or 2 version, depending what you had before, if you don't know which one to use I'd suggest DLing FW version ..0) from
    http://www.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/
and save it on your PC in the location you will easily find it ( e.g.
    Desktop).
Then do the same thing to get back to the Recovery Menu screen but this time select Reload Firmware from the Recovery Menu and follow the on-screen instructions on your player. This will take a few minutes. BE PATIENT and DO NOT DISCONNECT your player
during the process. IF YOU DO YOU'LL COMPLETELY BRICK YOUT PLAYER!!!
    Once completed select Reboot.
If it still won't work take it back to Creative...
    Cheers!Message Edited by Keyper7 on 02-5-200602:05 AM

  • Dirt behind the Zen Micro scr

First of all I had it in my pocket which apparently had some dirt in it. Somehow some dirt got in behind the screen, it doesn?t ruin the player but it is very annoying. Is there any way to fix this?

panda_nelwin wrote:Oh ya another question. Is there any program that i can download fre to id tag all my music? I download most of my music song by song and a lot of them arent tagged.
It depends exactly what you're after. There's a list of favourites here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.
Also would compressed air maybe help to get rid of the dirt?
It depends where it is. It's worth a try.

  • Zen Micro Scr

besides sending it to Creative to change the screen is there anything else i can do to remove these scratches on the screen?

There are products that allegedly "repair" the screen, but often they work by buffing out a larger scratch with lots of smaller ones. Others supposedly "fill" the scratch also, but I'm dubious that these work.
Better to make sure you get a stick-on screen protector or a case with a protector to prevent it happening again.

  • Bright blue spots/dots on zen microphoto front scr

Hi, I just bought my zen micro photo 3 days ago at best buy. I turned on the player and noticed two bright blue spots/dots on the front panel as the creative logo appeared. These spots are really tiny (maybe abt pixel), but they're highly visible under dark background (i.e. the creative start logo and dark photos). And those spots are on the center of the screen! Other than that screen problem, everything works fine and I am very satisfied with my zmp purchase. So, my question is whether those blue spots are nornal? does anyone experience the same problem? I just find it annoying to see those blue spots whenever I turn on my zmp, especially that my zmp is brand new out of the box. Should I just exchange it's

    Hi,
Sounds like a dead pixel. You mention its in the centre so it's fairly prominent so it's probably for the best to replace it. If you do decide replace this ensure you do so quickly. Stores have a seven day period for returns and after this they can sometimes be difficult.

  • Zen Micro starts with blue backlight and then fades to blank scr

My 2 year old Zen Micro which has had little use and few recharge cycles will neither charge, play music, or connect to my computer. I am hoping a battery replacement is all that is needed but hate to buy one if these symptoms don't sound like a bad battery. I have pulled the battery to "reset" it with no benefit. While plugged in I can hear the touch responsi've keys click but the screen is blank besides the charge logo and I get nothing when it is unplugged. It won't be recognized by my computer (Vista and new to the player) so I can't scan the hard dri've. Does this sound like a battery issue or are there other steps to try before replacing the battery. I contacted Creative and all they said was send it in and they will charge me no more than $35 for replacement if the repair is greater. If I had an iPod, they would look at it, swap a battery, and it'swould get solved in one minute at the in-store Genius desk. Thanks in advance.

kind of hard to understand your message but i think i get the general idea.....it should say that until its charged........

  • Creative Zen Micro - No Scr

** NOTE ** This is the message I sent to Creative support. But I would like help from everyone here, too. **
Last night I had been charging my computer, and
shut off my computer with my Creative Zen Micro
still plugged in. At that point, everything that
was on the screen became frozen onto the screen.
I turned in on, then turned it off, and
everything disappeared. I thought it was fine.
But earlier today at school, while listening to
my MP3 player, I went to change the song and
noticed that a bunch of jibberish was being
displayed. At that point, I had proceeded to
turn off/on my MP3 player again.
When the random assortment of letters, numbers,
and lines hadn't ceased to disappear, I
immediately turned off my MP3, took the battery
out, and placed it back in. At which point, I
turned on my MP3 player to discover... nothing
is being displayed on the screen anymore. I took
the battery out again, put it back in, turned it
    on, and still nothing.
I am now at home and have backed up everything
that was on my MP3 player. I attempted a
reformat via the troubleshooter, (take battery
out, hold power button on, put battery in,
continue to hold power button, etc...) but
nothing is being displayed. Thus, I cannot
perform a complete reformat, cannot restart, or
do anything with it at all.
The screen remains entirely blank, even if music
is playing. You can press pause and it pauses,
or press the [next song] button and change songs,
but nothing is displayed on the screen.
I had acquired my Creative Zen Micro on Boxing
Day of 2005 (December 26, 2005), and have only
had minor problems such as it freezing
occasionally. I currently have a 2 year warranty
that I purchased along with the MP3 player in
question. Any help would be appreciated.

Bump. Sorry, but I would like a response. I have checked other threads about this issue, and to me it sounds like it is a hardware malfunction and I HAVE to send my Zen Micro back to Creative.
Update: My MP3 player has been sitting, off, for about 5 hours. I turned it on and there was a single blue line running across the bottom of the screen. At this point, I began to reset it again. Good news, the screen appeared! I told it to reboot, and now everything is working A-OK. But I DEFINITELY will not turn off my computer without unhooking it first. Biggest mistake I made.Message Edited by Rape_of_Faith on 02-04-2006 0:44 AM

  • Zen Micro Photo frozen on Creative scr

Hi, I have had my Zen Micro Photo for three months and it has worked fine untill today. When I turned it on it went to the creative screen like it usually does and it just stayed there. I tried taking out the battery and putting it in again but it did the same thing. It doesn't even do anything when I hook it up to the computer. What can I do? I'm freaking out here please help me!!!!!!

It could be that the microdri've is "stuck" or in failure.
While the MicroPhoto is turned off, try tapping (well do it very firmly and with enough force) on the palm of your hand, restart the MicroPhoto and see if it boots up completely.
If not, a firm smack on a table top or counter may unstick the heads of the microdri've if that is what's preventing the microdri've from completely booting up.

  • Zen Micro 6GB Frozen to the Starting Scr

I haven't opened my Zen Micro 6GB about 2 months after I received it and when I try to operate it, it stays frozen to the screen with "Creative, Copyright(c) 2004, Creative Technology Ltd, All Rights Reserved" and stays like that forever.
I even tried removing the battery, holding the power to on, and placing the battery back in and nothing is happening.
Can you give me some pointers? Or should I so a warranty exchange?

tried giving it some more power? It could just be lacking battery....

  • Zen Micro - Blank Scr

Ok, so I bought my Zen Micro 6mb a few years ago and it worked great. Then my computer died, so I had no real use for it, so I gave it to a friend to use. He started using it as a portable storage device, but when he returned it it didn't work -at all- anymore.
When I plug it into my USB, it does detect the device, but that is all. He told me he thinks he deleted the operating system on it, or whatever. Basically -everything- has been deleted. When I turn it on the screen is blank, except for the battery gauge.
Also, I looked through all my CD's and DVD's but I can't find my installation disc. I swear I gave it to him, but it was like 2 years ago and I can't remember, but he says I never gave it to him. Is this a problem?
I searched the forums, but since I really don't know what happened to it, I don't really know what to search for.
Any help you could offer is greatly appreciated.

If so many people are expirenceing this problem, its no just one or two player's that are at fault, maybe in the design of the player there was somthing overlooked.
In my opinion this problem is somthing that Creative should definatly research into, as it could affect many more players. Its not good especally on players that are not even a month old!
LCD (Liquid Cristal Displays) themselves don't just blow or go wrong, and its higly unlikely that this is what has gorne wrong, the problem may lay with the connection from the LCD to the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) usually connected together with a flexible carbon track, sometimes these tracks can slip and make the display malfunction. This happend to my old minidisk player, if fixed the display problem by moving the carbon track - but i would not advise that anyone tampers with their player unless the warrenty has expired, and you cannot be botherd to get Creative to look at it.
But i would reccomend that in warrenty or not, you should get Creative to repair the problem for you, as searching for your music "blind" is very annoying and frustrating!

  • Zen Micro Frozen Scr

I power-on my Zen Micro as I usually do. The player turns on but i can not navigate through the player because the touchpad does not seem to be registering. Then, powering-off does not work either. I must remove my battery in order to turn player off.
When I boot into Recovery Mode, it is the same issue. I believe my device is defecti've but Creative just recently replaced it approx. 2 months ago.
Is there anything that I can do?

I have the very same problem! About 2 months ago my Zen Micro?broke (after having it for 3 to 4?months). I took it back to the store, they send it to the factory and i got a brand new one free of charge. This was about a month ago...today i wanted to turn it on and it just froze and i have to take the battery out if i want to turn of the player. This is ridiculous, i haven't done anything weird with it, i have a protection skin around it and it's only month old! I have been very carefull with it. Im thinking of going back to the story and ask? for my money back....im done with MP3 players,? i miss the CD players!?
