Blue tooth in car

I'm just finished setting up new iPhone 5s and decided to pair my Kenwood car radio, however, I tried to pair without the cable and it was not able to pair successfully, not allowing me to even enter the password. Is there a problem or is it necessary to use the new iPhone cable?
Taking it to a genius appointment before an iPhone class.
Any help is appreciated.

The Genius bar found nothing wrong with my phone! Went to Best Buy car stereo installation and in 2 minutes it was discovered my last two iphones had information stored in my Car radio and they needed to be deleted. He then was able to pair my iphone.
Thanks for the help, as the Car radio manuel is quite complicated.

Blue tooth in car bug

I use my iphone in my car all the time. It works great for Siri, for music, for phone calls. I've used this with my iphone 4 and beyond. This bug I was hoping would have been fixed by now. The bug you ask? well everything works except when I get a text - it is muted. I hear no sound, so I never know when I receive texts while in the car. Not that I would be texting while driving, but I want to at least know I get them in case the car isn't moving so that I can pull over and check them.
Anyone else experience this? Is there a way for this to be checked.
I have double checked over the years to make sure the phone wasn't on mute, and that the volume was all the way up. It is not intermittent, it is all the time.

That's not a bug. That's the way it works when you have a bluetooth system that supports A2DP audio streaming. If the head unit is not tuned to the bluetooth audio stream, you will not hear notifications.

IPhone 3Gs no longer connects to my Blue Tooth hands free cars

Within the last week, there appears to be a software update to my iPhone 3Gs. Since that time, my phone can no longer be paired with the hands free blue tooth options in both of my vehicles. The first vehicle is a 2010 Lincoln MKX with Sync and my other vehicle is a 2010 Volvo C30. Have other people experienced this? I have updated the connection between the phone and both vehicles. If I cannot get this fixed it looks like my iPhone is useless as a phone with blue tooth.

Problem solved!! I finally managed to pair the SE HCB-100 car kit speakerphone with the 3GS. I surfed the SE web site and it mentioned resetting the speakerphone. Tried it on 'one color ID' but it didn't work so I did it on all 'color IDs' and left it on reset mode when it 'accidentally' was picked up by my 3GS while searching!!! Found 'headset' and then recognised it as HCB-100. One happy guy for the holidays!!!

just got a new iPhone 4S cuz my last one (also a 4s)
the touch screen malfunctioned. (never had an issue pairing that one with my car)
new phone will NOT find my car blue tooth. any suggestions to trouble shoot or do I once again have to go get a new phone and sit there for an hour waiting to back up from iCloud again?

Are you sure your car is in "discovery" mode, looking for a new Bluetooth device?

Using blue tooth to send itunes audio to my car speakers

I've heard this is possible, but I have no idea how to go about doing this.
I've connected the phone to the car... no problem thru blue tooth.
But when I want to play audio, either the ipod app or the npr app, it plays thru the internal speaker... How do I direct the audio stream to the car's internal speaker??? Thanks

Your car has to have the Bluetooth audio feature for that to work

Have you been to the Sync site to review troubleshooting? I encourage you to visit http://support.lincoln.com/topics/sync-technology as the details are all available there. I recommend you remove the bluetooth connection from the phone to start it as brand new. Go to Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Bluetooth settings -> Select and hold the paired bluetooth device -> Select Unpair. Let us know if this improves the experience.

There are two places where vibrations can be set.
One is the Settings > Sounds
The other area is Settings > Notifications

Consult the manual for the car kit. Put it into pairing (discoverable) mode, then go to Settings>General>Bluetooth, turn it on, and pair them.
