Blue Tooth issues - connecting Mac Mini to Bose Speaker

I am trying to bluetooth my Mac Mini to a Bose Soundlink Mini speaker. I've successfully paired the devices, but I can't then some to get them to connect. Anybody experienced a similiar problem? Any suggestions for solutions gratefully received.
Thanks

The new mini has both a Mini DisplayPort interface and a Mini DVI interface. There is really no good reason to choose mDP over mDVI for your intended application that I am aware of. In fact, if you really plan on using a VGA interface into the TV, I would go with the mDVI output over mDP because mDVI puts out VGA signals automatically and directly as part of the DVI spec.
mDP does not make any provision for analog video. As such, the Apple adapter that goes from mDP to VGA has active electronics in it, is more costly and has greater potential for acting dodgey, IMO.
And one last point; the real purpose of hooking up the MBP would be to see how the TV responds running from a computer. If you encounter a lot of the types of problems often experienced by others on these forums, things like problems with overscan, anamorphic distortion (wrong aspect ratio), wrong resolution choices...things like that, then likely the mini will give the same trouble. If, on the other hand, you experience smooth sailing connecting the MBP to the TV by VGA and are happy with the outcome, then likely too the mini will work the same way. That's the real point behind trying it first with a computer you have, before investing in a computer you don't have.

  • Can I connect Mac mini to Windows laptop?

I would like to connect Mac Mini to HP windows 7 Laptop as to use
the laptop as keyboard and monitor instead of connecting to TV and using
    separate keyboard.
Is this straight forward to do? does it need some workaround? or is it impossible?

Hi, you'd have to setup Screen Sharing on the Mini first it's like Remote Desktop on PCs.

  • Connect mac mini to internet via windows phone

hallo, how can i connect Mac mini to internet via my Windows Phone?

You are going to have to buy an external modem.  They make ones that plug into the USB.  Apple does not make one so you will have to buy a 3rd party modem.  I would read the reviews before making the purchase to make sure you buy one that someone has tested with a mac.

  • Connecting mac mini to USB monitor didn't work!!

I connected new Mac mini(2007 model) with the latest HP USB monitor. Nothing got displayed on the monitor. Then I need to connect mac-mini to another VGA connector monitor. But still want to know to connect USB monitor with mac-mini as this is my target setup.

    Thank you.
I used Tiger OS specific drivers from the following link.
    www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php
Now it's working but not 100%. Upon starting of the mac-mini monitor works fine. But later when I switch off and switch on the monitor, then it doesn't work. Looks like monitor off -on trigger is not handled in the driver.
I will check with the driver like you have suggest and then acknowledge.

  • I have a first edition mac mini and internal speaker are not enabled yet.. what can I do?

I have a first edition mac mini and internal speaker are not enabled yet.. what can I do?

If you are using an HDMI connection, go to Apple / System Preferences / Sound and see if you can select the Built-In Speakers?
If you have headphones, buds or something plugged into the Audio Output jack, unplug it.
If not then perhaps the micro switch inside the Audio Output jack is stuck? In that case, try plugging and unplugging some headphones, buds or something in and out a few times to see if it will un-stick.
If it will not un-stick, then you will need to make an appointment for service.

  • Lacie Electron 22 blue III connection mac mini

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect a Lacie Electron 22 Blue III CRT monitor to a new Mac Mini... I have the adaptor (HDMI to VGA), so monitor appear completely black... no signal.
I connected  the Mac Mini to an HDMI TV, and I selected a 1024x768 resolution... so it doesn't work!
    Who can help me, please?
    Thanks,
    ale

    Yes,
A notable peculiarity of Thunderbolt is that it uses exactly the same connector as Mini Display Port, and that's not all. The Thunderbolt connector also carries Mini Display Port video signals. That means you can plug a Mini Display Port video cable/adapter in to a Thunderbolt connector and your monitor will work.
If you plan to do other things with your Thunderbolt connector and don't want it wasted on a monitor, you can also choose an HDMI --> DVI adapter, which for your purposes will be functionally equivalent.
You can even use both at the same time.

  • Connect Mac mini and iMac... please!

Connect iMac and Mac mini... please
Posted: Jan 30, 2006 7:17 AM Reply Email
    Hi guys
I can't figure out how to make my iMac and Mac mini talk to each other... let me explain better...
I have a wired Linksys router that always worked ok connecting the iMac and a Windows XP... I used to connect them by SMB... I haven't been able to do the same with both Macs... do I have to enable "file sharing" or something?
Is there a way I can connect both macs wirelessly? even having a wired connection to the internet? both Macs have Blue Tooth and Airport ...
    What I want...
I want to be able to share a printer connected to the iMac and have both HD mounted ALL THE TIME on both machines... so I would be able to work on the mini and save to the iMac... share my iTunes library that stays on the mini...
I am only being able to share my internet connection using the wired router... that's it... I can't go farther than that... why?
Sorry for the dumb question... I know it is supposed to be quite simple but I got stuck...
    Cheers!

If you want the Mac's hard drives to always appear on each other's systems when they start up, you must have Personal File Sharing enabled on both systems. Once on, connect both Macs to each other, and click the little checkboxes next to the selected hard drive in the connection window. If each Mac requires a username and password, make sure to add those passwords to the keychain.

  • Performance Issues with Mac Mini (Late 2014)

    Dear All,
We have few Mac Minis with below mentioned configuration in our organization.
    Mac Mini (Late 2014)
    Processor : 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz) with 3MB on-chip shared L3 cache
    Storage : 500GB (5400-rpm) hard drive
    Memory : 4GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 memory
Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 5000
Mac OS Version : 10.10.2 Yosemite
We are using these Mac Minis for iOS application development using Xcode, but now we are facing lots of performance related issues. We are sharing issue related details with you & want to get some help to improve our system performance.
    1) System is running very slow & take a lot of time to Boot.
    2) Some time it never boots & we need to press start button several time.
    3) When system goes in Sleep mode, then it takes much time to come to display screen to type Password.
    4) Sometimes the whole screen moves Downwards.
    5) Sometimes while during coding using Xcode in Simulator it shows some kind of Error “Unexpectedly quit”
    6) Xcode runs very slow & it take lots of time in switching between files.
    7) While closing any open application it take lots of time & show activity indicator for very long time.
    8) Sometimes it doesn’t support iPad when we connect it using USB cable.
Our development team is facing lots of issues using these Mac Minis, so please can anyone suggest us that how can we improve our system performance & is this configuration is ideal to run Mac OSx 10.10 Yosemite Series and to use it for iOS application development.
Please try to help us to solve these issues & try to share some valuable comments on it.
    Thanks

    Dear woodmeister50,
Here i am sharing required screenshots which you have suggested to share.
    1.  Open up activity monitor and select CPU.  Post the top 5 procersses
and their percentage of CPU usage.
    2.  Then select Memory.  Post the values listed in the box at the bottom
or you can post a screen shot that area.
Please analyze these Activity monitor logs & let us know if you want to share some feedback on that. We will also try to boot & run our system in safe mode.
    Thanks

  • How to connect Mac Mini with LG 19LS4D LCD TV?

    Hi all,
I just purchased my Mac Mini and tried connecting to my LG 19" HD TV using the supplied DVI to VGA adapter. When I first booted the machine "No signal" was displayed on my TV. I plugged in another 15" monitor and played around with resolutions and cable swapping and it works at 1024 x 768 at 60Hz (not ideal but better than nothing). Everytime I turn off the Mac Mini or it goes to sleep the resolution is reset and "No signal" appears again.
I have tried connecting via VNC to play around with the settings remotely but this has no effect on my TV monitor and is only resolved by the solution above or by leaving my Mac awake and not sleeping.
The documentation for the TV says that all the resolutions I have tried, and more are supported and Detect Displays under System Preferences shows these but defaults to a resolution that produces a "No signal" box.
Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi BSteely,
Thanks for the reply. To answer your questions, the LG shows on the mini as it should do i.e. there is a specific code (the LG model number) and lists the resolutions and refresh rates listed in the manual. Adobe Photoshop complains of a bad colour profile but I think that was only because when the LG is finally lit up it is as a result of me connecting the 15" monitor then hot swapping before OS X has change to realise.
When using VNC with the LG attached 1024 x 768 at 60Hz is shown but selecting that does not show the screen on the LG.
I did install SwitchResX from looking at other forums but was unable to save a usable state as the profile and resolutions were from a different monitor effectively despite my LG being connected. The P&D file that it gave back is listed in full below although I suspect this is for my 15"monitor (Excuse the length but I am unsure as to which bits are most useful).
The LG manual lists 1440 x 900 at 60Hz as the native default however the mini fails to recognise this. The easiest resolution I can get after hot swapping monitors is 1024 x 768 at 60Hz although the other day (not sure how) I did get 1280 x 1024 (at 60Hz?). The LG does not however have a DVI port. It does have HDMI so a DVI to HDMI cable could work but without buying a cable I don't know.
Here is the LG's information file:

  • Connecting Mac Mini to Sharp LCD 45" TV

I just purchased a MINI for Xmas 09'. I have tried to connect it to my 45" tv via: DVI and S-Video connections, both have been un-successful! The only time the Mini shows a display is if I connect to a 17" computer monitor.....
I purchased the Mivi- Dvi to Video Adapter/ Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter/
Mini-DVI to S-Video Adapter and not 1 works with TV. The only time it shows display is when I connect using the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and connect to my 17" computer monitor.........
IS there something I'm connecting wrong? Does the MINI even connect to a 45" TV?
    HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! Its driving me NUTZ!
My TV is a SHARP LC-45GD7U. It has "S" Video inputs, DVI-I (29Pin) Inputs.
It also has HDMI but it is being used via CABLE TV!
    Any info would HELP! THANKS!

Hi- sorry to hear you are having problems.
Did you try using the mini-dvi to dvi adaptor that was included for free in your mac mini box? Give that a try, but that being said, the mini display port to DVI adaptor should have worked.
Just a note- the S-video adaptor will NOT work with the new 2009 minis. At all. You should bring that back to the store and return it.
Also, can you give us the following details:
    1. Model of your Panasonic set.
    2. Exactly what do you see on your screen when you try to connect? Black screen? Blue screen? Garbled screen? Screen with huge or blurry text? Please be as specific as possible.

  • Connecting Mac Mini to AV Receiver

I thought this would be simple. I purchased a Mac Mini today with the thought of connecting it through my AV receiver to my LG tv. Here's what I did:
    1) brought it home from the store
    2) plugged an HDMI cable into the Mac Mini, and the other end into my receiver (Yamaha RX-V3800)
    3) there is another HDMI cable that goes from my receiver to my LG tv (LG Infinia 50PK950)
    4) turned everything on, turned the receiver to the correct input that I plugged the Mac Mini HDMI cable into...
    ... and I get nothing.
The Mac Mini is on, the blue light is on.
Do I need to perform some sort of set up on the mini before I can connect it to my tv to use the tv as a monitor?
Did I connect the wrong HDMI cable?
    Is it not compatible?
I thought it would be an easy connection if I went Mac Mini > HDMI > Yamaha AV Receiver > HDMI > LG Infinia 50PK950 TV.
    Any help?

Yup - tried connecting it through 2 different HDMI inputs on the tv, and tried different HDMI cables in case that was the problem. All I'm getting is "No Signal" on the tv.
I can run a PS3 through my receiver via HDMI and to the tv and it works fine.
I think the first step at this point is to verify that the actual mini is working since I just pulled it out of the box and connected it. The blue light is on and it sounds like it is on but I haven't been able to see it on any monitor or tv.
Should I be able to just connect straight from the mini to a tv using an HDMI cable? I don't have a mouse or keyboard plugged in either, I only have the wireless apple ones.

  • I need help networking a ibook color series blue se with a mac mini please

Ok i need some help let me explain:
I just purchased a blue clamshell g3 366mhz here are my specs:
    powerpc g3 clamshell 366mhz
    apple airport card
    40 gig hard drive
    512 megs of ram
running mac os x tiger 10.4.10 (by the way no issues running mac os x tiger if you upgrade ram and hard drive)
I also own a intel mac mini here are it's system specs
    intel mac mini 1.6 ghz
    1.5 gig's ram
    250 gig hard drive
running mac os x tiger 10.4.10
So here is what i would like to do
    I own apple's ilife 08 and 06 and i purchased a 05 installation disk from amazon.
I use the ibook as photograghy storage while i am out shooting nature shoots and wedding's
I have installed in this order.
    adobe photoshop cs
    adobe illustrator cs
    adobe indesign cs
iphoto 06 (yes it does work on g3 computers
i movie 05 (yes it works as well)
but i really need to be able to network the two machines to each other so i can transfer photo's from one machine to another. How do i do this????
Is there a way to do this with the airport cards????
Do i need to purchase software from apple???
    If so what???

You can use Ethernet or AirPort or even Firewire.
The fastest way to transfer photos is to boot the iBook into Firewire Target Disk mode. The iBook will then act as an external FireWire drive. You can then drag files from the iBook to the Mac mini.
For other options, you can find details on making a network for file sharing in KB 106461, Mac OS X: About File Sharing.

  • Can I use wifi connected Mac Mini as an ethernet hub?

    Hi!
I have my Mac Mini next to the TV. It gets the wireless internet connection from my apartment complex.
I also have a Blue-Ray player that is online capable, but not wireless. Can I get the Blue-Ray player online by running an Ethernet cable to the Mac Mini?

Yes, go into System Preferences and open the Sharing panel where you will see a check box for Internet Sharing and it's options.

  • Connecting Mac Mini to AD

    Hi
I have been trying to connect my Mac Mini to an Active Directory server on work.
I have read a lot that i need to disabled the signing is this still true or is this only old advice.
I come to the fifth step, it is 1 - 5 step.
According to apple it should be a straight forward process.
The dumb nuts on apple do not even provide a good step by step guide and a lot of the ones that exsist on other sites are from 2005, it feels like it should been solved in my version of operating system
any help would or pointer to a fresh guide that i can trust.
I can not have my it-team test in our production environment.
    Regards
    Peter
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Just a suggestion ... you might try posting this in the Tiger forums, since you will get a bigger audience for your question, and this sort of issue is not directly tied to the Mini hardware.
Of course, no problem asking here, too. And welcome!
