Blue tooth issues with macbook pro late 2011

I purchased the new beats pill and havinng issues with connectivity with macbook pro. My Iphone works well. Any suggestions

I have a similar issue.  Have you had any luck with a fix, yet?  I have a Samsung sound bar, and my Ipad and Iphone both connect with no issues. The playback is uninterrupted with fine sound quality.  My 2011 13" Macbook Pro connects, however playback often sounds like a scratched CD.  Last year I called both, Samsung and Apple, and when all was said and done it was recommended that I bring the then brand new sound bar and my Macbook to an Apple Store.  Any suggestions I are appreciated.

  • Audio Issues with MacBook Pro (Late 2008)

I am seeing an occasional issue with my MacBook Pro (Late 2008). The Audio will go out... and instead you will just hear static-like clicking sounds when and audio even happens. For example... when you have the up/down volume notification on... and you change the audio volume.. you hear clicks. Or... when you open up a file that has audio.. you will hear the static-like click when the audio starts to try to play.
The work around per-se is to completely shutdown and turn the notebook back on. A simple restart does not seem to fix it... it looks like the system needs to have a bit of energy drain first. Which... worries me that this is a hardware issue and not a driver issue.
Wondering how many others are seeing this???

I went to and Apple Support Center last week and I asked some questions about audio because my MBP was having troubles too. The tech told me audio issues are very frequent on these machines and sometimes you have to change a part of the soundcard. He also added you have to bring the MBP to a support center if you're having the problem several times - in my case I'm waiting the next "crash" since I had only 2 issues so far... If you're under warranty go for a check up and see if it really needs assistance. Goodbye

  • Compatibility of Past-Years Cinema Display with Macbook Pro Late 2011, and other displays.

    Hello.
I'm inquiring about the compatibility of Apple cinema displays from years past with Macbook Pro 15" Late 2011.
For instance, will all Apple Cinema Displays from, say, 2008 onwards work with my mbook?
They can be had fairly cheaply on the used market.
What is the earliest model that will be compatible?
I've never had an external monitor for my lappies, so I am very clueless. I know DVI is a common connection, but there is no DVI port on my lappie.
I would also be very curious as to what would be suitable displays from other manufacturers, particularly Samsung and Dell.
The size doesn't have to be big, 20-23 inch is fine, I am more worried about good resolution [no obvious pixellation]
If a screen is big, but has good resolution that's even better of course, but I'm not ****-bent on a big thing.
The mbook 15" screen is just a bit squashy for home use really.
Thank you very much in advance for any advice.
Feel free to link me to other threads as an answer, I have done a bit of searching around, but still confused.

I have the same MBP and recently bought a 23" cinema display on Craigslist for $140.  It works great.  I had a display port to DVI adapter and it worked fine.  Built a stand to hold the laptop vertically so it's out of the way.  Don't know about older displays but anything with DVI should work fine.
The screen size and resolution are great for photo editing.  I now have the best of both worlds, a display that rivals my wife's iMac and portability.

  • Graphic problems with Macbook Pro Late 2011 13"

I'll try to explain it as clear as possible. This started to happen a couple weeks ago:
My Macbook screen started to being white-blurred, and the image slows down while this happen. At first I thought that was happening randomly, but then -I guess- I realised that it was lid-related; when I open the lid more than 90 degrees the problem started to happen, sometimes it starts to happen even if the lid is in its 'working fine area' though , but after moving the lid up and down several times, it gets 'fixed'... until it happens again. There are times when it doesn't get fixed instantaneously, and it's really driving me crazy.
My first thought was that it might be the flex (not sure if this is the right name of it tough), I mean the cable that goes from the screen to the logic board. If so, or even in another case scenario, I have an Early 2011 Macbook Pro 13" where I can use any part, except for the logic board, if needed.
    Thanks in advance.

Well the Apple logo will always be visible through the screen when there is a fairly bright light behind the screen.
    That is totally normal.
As for the freezing and since this is your first Mac computer I would like to make you aware of one thing.
The way Mac OS X operating system works is slightly different then Windows. In Windows when you click the X in the upper right hand corner of the program you are using that program closes freeinig up the memory it was using. In the Apple OS, OS X, when you click the X in the upper left hand corner of the windows you are using all that does is close that active window. It dos not close the program. So if you have started up 2-3-4-5-6 programs to do something in them and then clicked the X all you have done is closed those windows for all those programs. The programs is still running. So you can end up with several programs using memory when they shouldn't be. You have to actually close those program by first using Command+Tab to see what programs are still open then go to the menu bar on the right side where the name of the program is displayed and click on that name and select Quit Program Name. Or once the name of the program is in the menu bar press Command+Q (Quit) to close that program.
Get in the habbit of always using that keyboard shortcut when you are done using a program.
Having multiple program open will cause the system to run slow.
The hard drive Apple is putting the newer Macbook Pros are of the slower type. Running at 5400RPMs as opposed to the faster 7200RPM models. Why I don't know as the faster drives don't cost that much more. Because of this all program run slightly slower. To open, to save files to and when used as a swap disk to expand on the physical memory in the computer. Which in turn will make the system seem sluggish and can casue some freezes.
So make sure you have closed all programs before opening another, and only have at the most 2-3 progams open at the same time.

  • Issue with Macbook Pro (early 2011) screen going black.

I installed an SSD with Mt Lion.  Periodically the screen goes black like it's going to sleep.  It hasn't done this in the past just noticed it the last few weeks.
The SSD is a Crucial with 8GB of Crucial memory.  I've got all the software fixes up to date.  Has anyone else seen this.  I've read a few postings, one mentioned issues with Mt. Lion and another with a logic board in the laptop.

Well, seem like there's already ton of thread related to this issue ...

  • I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011 and having issues with utilities screen.

I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011. I want to reformat my hdd to start from scratch. My issue is when I am on the utilities screen I am unable to click on anything. I want to delete my current partition but I am unable to click on Disk Utilities. Please help me!

According to your profile your Mac is running v10.7.3 Lion.
If that is the case, to reformat the hard drive you need to use Lion Recovery not Disk Utility.

  • MacBook Pro (Late 2011) Graphics Card issue; shall I keep it?

    Hi there,
I've recently bought a MacBook Pro (Late 2011) second hand from someone on eBay, it's going to be delivered in a couple days.
Now, after the purchase, I did some research into the production year - I know, I should've done it before really - and found a huge amount of people with the very-known issue of the Graphics card. The issue causes massive visual problems and has, on many occasions, resulted in a replaced Logic Board.
I'd like to know whether you think that this machine is a safe one to keep, or if I should send it back and try and get one from a different year?
The seller said, once I asked him about it, that the previous owner (obviously someone has had it before him) apparently had a few issues, but he himself hasn't, and is using Mavericks.
    What do you think?

Not ALL of the 15" and 17" models have had a problem with the soldering of the GPU - maybe 20,000 at the most (based on the information that I've been gathering and some of those may be reports on the same machine). It's possible that yours may be  good one.
However... I wouldn't take the chance, were it me. I've only had my logic board replaced once and it's been almost 11 months now and my machine is still working. But I'm sure that the problem will surface again (after my AppleCare runs out in 2015!) so I've decided to become less Mac-dependent in the future.
If I were you, I would just tell the seller that you're not comfortable buying a 2011 model with the discrete GPUs (the 13" models are just fine) and would shop Apple's refurbished section, looking for a non-Retina 2012 model.
    My opinion...

  • Macbook pro late 2011, completely messed up, everything I click it brings up beachball very slow, blue ray and hd unwatchable as it jerks. genius bar app didnt help at all, very disappointed, can some1 help me?

Macbook pro late 2011, completely messed up, a macbook pro of this year should not be operating like this, everything I click it brings up beachball very slow, blue ray and hd unwatchable as it jerks. genius bar app didnt help at all, very disappointed, can some1 help me?

You have a hardware problem. It is probably the hard drive is either to full, not enough free space, or it is starting to fail.
If you have an external drive connec that to the system and use the Recovery HD, Command + r keys at startup, to install a clean fresh copy of OS X Lion on the external then run the system from that. It will be slower but if you don't get the beachball then that is the sign your internal drive is on its way out or is filled up with files and not enough free space.

It looks like you may need a mini-displayport to Displayport cable. You can also try holding the option key while clicking on "scaled" to see if the option you need comes up.

  • I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011 and I'm wondering if I install Windows 7 Ultimate to this MacBook Pro with this Full Retail Version. And if so, which bit to use either 32-bit or 64-bit since I have both disks.

    64 bit.
32 bit won't use all your computer's ram.
64 bit allows you to run 32 bit programs
    Your computer is 64 bit
    New programs use 64 bit.
There is no reason to use the 32 bit version of Windows.

  • Macbook Pro (Late 2011 model issue)

I purchased my Macbook pro (late 2011 Model) a couple of months back, towards the end of last year. Staright after i had purchased it, and had got it delivered i experienced cracking and clicking noises coming from within the Hinge of the Macbook. And got it replaced for a brand new one as i was still within the 2 weeks prior to purchase, as the apple policy states i was eligible to get a new if i had any problems. So i did. And the brand new replacement macbook pro that i have NOW has the same problem. Ever since i got the other one replaced THIS ONE has the problem or rather much worse, Cracking and clicking noises everywhere whenever i handle the notebook or carry it there is cracking noises everywhere. Whenever i open and close the screen lid, UP or Down. There is loud clicking noises coming from inside, sounds like something is breaking. This is totally unacceptable. First macbook had issue, replaced it, And now replaced Macbook pro is much worse. Since i had it replaced i havent had time to come bring it in. It still bears the same preoblem and is getting worse!

You're just going to have to take it into your local Apple Store. They won't replace again but you're still within your one-year warranty so they will certainly repair. I have the same model and have not have any of the problems that you describe.
