  • Is there a way to disable the blue triangle warning tag?

I created a formula to generate dates a week apart (see screen grab below).  It works, but in most months, I get a blue triangle error tag stating that the day was greater than 31.  This happens when the previous date was the 25th of the month or later and the intermediate calculation generates a day of 32 or above, even though the displayed date does increment the month and display the correct single digit day.
I know I can manually sellect each blue triangle individually and "ignore" it, but the more dates I generate the more blue triangle warnings I get.
It there a way to programatically / automatically not display blue triangle warning tags in a select set of cells?
    or
Is there a better formula that I can use to generate dates a week apart that will not generate blue triangle warnings?

Warning triangles: No way that I've found.
    Incrementing dates: Method 1—use auto-fill.
First date in A2, Second date in A3.
Select both cells, then drag the Fill control down the column. Dates will increment according the difference between the two starting dates.
Incrementing dates: Method 2—use a simple formula:
    First date in A2.
    In A3: =A2+7
Select A3 to the bottom of the column (see note below)
Go Insert > Fill > Fill down.
    Done.
    Regards,
    Barry
    NOTE: re selecting;
Click any cell to make the table active and show the row and column reference tabs.
Click the reference tabe for column A to select the entire column.
Command click A1, then A2 to remove these two from the selection.
NOTE 2: The information here is also readily accessible in the Numbers '09 User Guide, an easily read pdf file well worth spending an hour or two browsing. The guide may be downloaded via the Help menu in Numbers.

  • In the navigation Toolbar following the yellow bookmark star you find a small blue triangle. When you click it a number of bookmarks show up. How can I add new booksmark to be displayed out of my unsorted bookmarks? Thanks.

    Dear Sir, Mam,
In the navigation toolbar on the right side of the bookmark yellow star you find a small blue triangle. When you click it, some of the selected bookmarks show up and can be called up immediately.
I have deleted some without problem, but I could not add new ones. I would like to have there at least 10 items.
Please explain how to add new bookmarked items to this shortcut list. Thank you, sincerely Th. Brandt. [email protected]

Is that the Bookmarks Menu button ?

  • What are the Blue triangles on my book thumbnail?

I just purchased the 7 individual Chronicles of Narnia books from Harper Collins and was careful to make sure they were related in the series (each one was $0.99. However, I noticed in my library, the 7 books show as downloaded and I can open each one, but the last 5 books of the series have a Blue triangle on the upper right corner of the book's thumbnails, but the first 2 books do not. What does the blue (and even a red) triangle mean, and why do two of the books not have it?
    Thanks in advance.

The blue triangle means the book hasn't yet been opened, so it is "new" once you open it and scroll through a few pages the triangle will disappear.

  • What's this blue triangle I keep seeing?

    Hi you guys,
I've had my Blackberry for a couple months now and about once a week I notice a small blue triangle at the top of my screen.  I can't find the info about it in the user manual.  Do any of you know what it means?
    Thanks,
    Heidi

  • Blue triangle says "Duration Units were removed" How to..?

I used a formula (the formula is  =MAX(K21-8, 0)  if that helps) to calculate OT hours worked from a shift. I wanted it to show 0 if none, and the # of hours over 8 if more than 8 were worked. I needed it to show 0 for the total weekly calculations each week and YTD. This works perfectly fine. But it has a blue triangle in the corner and when I hover over it, it says "Duration units were removed". This is also ok, doesn't cause any problems...yet.
I am trying to have another box show total regular hours worked that day. There are some days where employee will work 5 hours, or 7 hours, and others will be 10 hours or 12 hours.
I am using the "IF" formula, trying to say IF(the amount of hours in a particular cell are less than 8, then just copy the same time/number/duration from that particular cell, if not just write 8)
NONE of the several ways I have tried have worked. I am not very numbers friendly..... Dont understand too much.
This is what I am using =IF(K21<8, K21, "8") - but I have also tried with=IF(K21=<8, "K21", "8hrs") and just about every combo possible.
Not only do none of them work, all coming up with a red error, I think I may be able to get them to work if I can 'remove the duration units' like the other cells automatically did.
    HELP?

    Hi pw,
K21 contains a duration value, from which the formula subtracts a number. Since the number is NOT a duration, and no units are specified for it, Numbers makes an assumption regarding the unit value associate with this number, strips the duration from the value in K21, and presents the result of the subtraction. That result is a number, not a duration, and could be wrong if Numbers made a wrong assumption, hence the warning.
One way to get rid of the warnng triangle (and to ensure that the subtraction result is what you want it to be) is to convert the duration to the equivalent number of hours:
    =MAX(DUR2HOURS(K21)-8, 0)
With this conversion, the formula is subtracting a number ( 8 ) from a number ( DUR2HOURS(K21) ), and no warning is generated.
"I am trying to have another box show total regular hours worked that day."
You can pull these out of the total using a similar formula to the one above. Any hours worked, to a maximum of 8, is regular time. Anything over 8 is OT. To determine OT hours, you subtracted 8 from total hours, and used the result if it was greater than zero, and zero if that was greater than the (negative) result. Here's the other side of that:
    =MIN(DUR2HOURS(K21),8)
If the number of hours worked that day ( DUR2HOURS(K21) ) is less than 8, then that's the number of regular hours that day. If it's greater than 8, then the number of regular hours worked is 8.
Here's a table showing the results for several durations of work day:
Formulas in C and D as shown above, with B2, etc. replacing K21.

  • Blue triangle navigation app has disappeared

I've been using the blue triangular navigation button app as my GPS  navigator on my Droid RAZR HD when I drive. It suddenly disappeared yesterday. I don't see it among my apps or on Play Store and don't know how to get it back. I guess it's the same or similar to the Google Maps navigation, but I prefer using this app. Does anyone know where it went, and/or how I can get it back? Or has it been discontinued?
Also, is there a way to chance the voice that does the navigation? I'd rather have a male voice so I can hear it better.

08-13-2013----My blue Navigation symbol also disappeared when I rebooted my Droid RAZR. However, I just followed this procedure: SystemSettings...APPS..."Downloaded" or "All"(All is scrolled to the right)....touch - GOOGLE MAPS or "MAPS" (***this is the important app to get your blue triangle back**).....A menu board will appear that shows Storage, etc. Touch "DISABLE" or "Unistall" or "unistall Updates"....If asked, select "install factory version". This should remove the update that eliminated the blue triangle. See if you got it back by going to HOME..APPS.. Hopefully you got it!! By the way, if and when you reboot the phone again, the same thing is likely to happen.

  • Blue triangles!!!

I've got a table but in one of the columns there are small blue triangles in the top left and corner of the cells.  When I place the cursor over the triangle I get the message "The formula compares a string to a number".  When the cell gets populated the blue triangle disappears.
I'm unsure why the these triangles are there and they aren't too much of an inconvenience but it would be nice to know.  The formula that's in the cell with the blue triangle does do what it's supposed to do.
    Thanks

I am brain challenged today and edited my post again so you might not have seen the end result.
The "" is a null string so whenever D9 is "not populated" with a number, it is a string.
D9 will be a number only when it is greater than zero and will be "" otherwise so why not change the formula to IF(D9="","",D9×1.227086)

  • Help, new Droid 2, won't get 3g only 1x with flashing blue triangle

This is my 4th Droid 2, I like the phone and only go this new one after my last one got wet and had to be replaced.
I activated the new phone and it won't move off of the 1x (my old Droid 2 that is my desperation phone because it has some issues has 3g).
I spent 1.5 hours talking to a tech. who suggested I send the phone back as defective.  I did and order a new one from another company.  The same thing is happening, I still make and receive calls, I have internet; what I don't have is 3g and no idea what the problem is.

Talked to someone again today, still insist it is the phone.  I've had enough with Verizon, if I can return this phone I will quickly move to straight talk!!!!!!!!!!!  I am tired of the "up sale" on everything no matter what I call about.  I was basically told that if I don't buy the phone from Verizon, then I was on my own.
After 10 years you would think they would try to help a loyal customer.

  • I just got a replacement Droid X from Verizon and it has a blue triangle.

I think my phone is not activated and teh "onscreen" instructions never poped up lke the replacment guide said they would!

The phone needs to be Re-Acvivated.
    Dial *228 & choose option 1
Once completed Dial *228 once more and choose option 2 to update your signal
If that doesn't work you'll need to do a Factory Reset
Menu-->Settings-->Privacy-->Factory Data Rest--> Tap reset phone.
After its completed just follow the on screen instructions and you will be set
    Cheeers!

  • Solution!  Dismiss multiple blue warning triangles!

There are several posts about this issue, but all are archived and don't allow you to respond, so I thought I'd just share this:
If you open an Excel document containing unsupported formatting in Numbers, your document will be filled with blue triangles
    !http://dl.dropbox.com/u/457211/bluetriangle.png!
    warning you that:
And if you have a lot of cells, it would take forever to go through them all and click on Ignore
    Here's my solution -- I simply:
    1) Highlight the cells
    2) Select copy
    3) Select Paste
bask in the glory of a blue-triagle-free spreadsheet!
    Cheers, fellow Numbers users!

What I did was I created a Pop-Up Menu with about 10 different names. I have text in this cells, not numbers. Then, based on the option selected in that cell I want to populate an entire table with values I have in a different sheet. An example below:
    =IF($B$1=Table 2::$B$1,Table2::B3)+IF($B$1=Table 3::$B$1,Table3::B3)+IF($B$1=Table 4::$B$1,Table4::B3)+...
The warning I get says I'm using boolean instead of numbers, which is fine by me. It does recognize ABC=ABC, TRUE, but I get this warning.

  • Blue warning triangles won't go!

I have a formula which, until data is entered, references an empty cell. A blue triangle appears in the (many!) cells containing this formula warning me of this and if I click one and then click Ignore, it goes away. I want to do this in lots of cells so am looking for a way to apply that to them all. Choosing Numbers > Preferences > General > untick Show warnings when formulas reference empty cells has no effect whatsoever.

I can't actually rewrite the expression (I don't think) because it's pulling data from another table (Time Sheet) depending on what data is typed into that table. The expression is:
    =IFERROR(OFFSET(Time Sheet::$A$1,SMALL(Time Sheet :: $F,ROW()-1)-1,0),"")
Strangely, I've noticed that there is one cell containing exactly the same formula (you'll notice the references are absolute) where the triangle does not appear. Maybe I clicked Ignore there.

  • Is there a way to move the blue indent rectangle without manually dragging it?

I would like to be able to move the blue indent rectangle (located in the ruler, above the left blue triangle by default) without going up with my mouse and dragging it. Is there another way, perhaps a keyboard shortcut?

Where are these shortcut taken from ?
When I search in Pages Shortcuts, I find the word indent only twice and both occurences are related to lists.
