Blue Yeti Pro Microphone robot voice

For some reason when I record using my Blue Yeti Pro microphone, it's a lot of times a robot voice. I really can't figure out what's the problem, no matter what USB wire I use. I often record my screen using Screenflow, it records it like a robot voice, since a few days, before it didn't do that. I've tried connecting the USB to my keyboard and my mac, it doesn't work, sometimes it won't even output or input anything. Also when I skype or use teamspeak, other say that after a while I sound like a robot, this really bugs me, I just recorded over 3 hours for youtube, after I had finished, I realised my voice was like a robot all the time, I raelly get ****** of this.

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back

    Hey Guys
    i just want t pick your brains for a bit i have Blu Yetti Pro USB microphone it works totally fine i can record in logic and  garageband fine but my questions are
    1. if i go to Launchpad>Other>Audio MIDI Setup sometimes the microphone is stuck on mute even though the actual microphone is not muted the only way i can resolve this is by unplugging the usb out of the microphone then replugging it back in and also the microphone won't pickup any sound sometimes unless i go to the input tab and move the input volume slider left to right.
    2. also in Audio MIDI Setup the settings are the standard which is 44100.0 Hz at 2ch-24bit integer i notice in Logic Pro X if i change that to say 96000.0 Hz when i live record in logic Pro X my voice comes out real deep or Extreme Latency(Delay).
    anyways i know these aren't real important questions i just thought if a fellow Helper could shed some light on these questions lol

    After doing some research, found that it is possible to get rid of original SuperDrive with no issues. And usually all Blu-Ray drives are plug and play and require no driver.
    The Blu-Ray is set region code by software just like with a DVD drive and with limited number of times you can change between regions.
    Best Blu-Ray players are LG as they have the least problems of compatibility with the Mac Pro (unlike the Pioneers).

  • Blue Yeti Pro Microphone won't work with iMovie or Photobooth :(

    I have my Yeti Pro connected to my macbook pro (version 10.6.8) that I use with my beats studio headphones. Whenever I record myself in garage band with the mic and the headphones, the audio sounds crystal clear. Whenever I record myself in iMovie or Photo Booth, with the headphones and the Yeti mic, the audio becomes all buzzy and poppy and the sound comes in and out. It sounds awful. In iMovie I made sure to select the Blue USB audio 2.0 option for the voiceover sound option, but the same thing happens. I don't want to have to record my video seperately from my audio and then edit them to match up later.

    Two suggestions:
    Make sure that the camcorder is connected to a power outlet, not running just on battery power;
    As alluded to by thesurreyfriends, try a different FireWire cable. If you have a Rocketfish cable, it has been known to cause problems. I have a Belkin 9 pin to 4 pin (FW 800/400) which works perfectly with iMovie '11, using my older Sony DCR-TRV20E.

  • Blue Yeti USB microphone not working in ALSA/PulseAudio

    I recently bought a Blue Yeti USB microphone. It is supposed to require no drivers for Windows and OS X, and so far, it works well under Windows, but I cannot seem to get it to function on Arch Linux.  As fair warning, although I am relatively experienced with Linux, I don't know much about the internals of ALSA/PA --- up until now, it has just "always worked", so this is my first real foray into the area. I've tried for many days, with no success, to get this thing working.
    So, let's start off first with my configuration.
    I have a few audio devices:
    An on-board audio solution that I don't typically use. For testing, I have connected an old, crappy pair of headphones, but normally I keep this disabled. It has one capture device. (Analog stereo [or 5.1/7.1/etc]  duplex)
    An external DAC that is connected via USB and is output-only. So, no capture devices on that. (Digital/IEC958 output)
    The Blue Yeti itself, which is connected via USB and supports output (it has an internal DAC) as well as input. So, one capture device here. (Digital stereo output and analog stereo input???)
    The HDMI-out stuff for nvidia, which I never use

    Now, on to the debugging stuff. First: everything except Blue Yeti recording works. The external DAC works, the on-board audio (both input and output) work, using the DAC in the Blue Yeti to play music/monitor the microphone works (so it works as an output). The only thing that doesn't work is actual recording from the Blue Yeti itself.
    When I try to record from the Blue Yeti with parecord -v, I get very strange behavior. Essentially, the "latency" of the microphone measured is exactly the same as the time it has been recording. That is, if it has been recording for 5 sec, then the latency is 5000000 usec. Also, if I try to record something in Audacity, I get no result except for a message box that says "Latency Correction has caused the recorded audio to be hidden before zero. Audacity has brought it back to start at zero." Also, pavucontrol doesn't show an input volume bar for the Blue Yeti, as in the above screenshots, whereas it normally will for microphones that are getting input. The Yeti is not muted, either, so it should be picking up ambient fan noise and such.
    Does anyone have any ideas? Is there some configuration error I've made? Typically, this sort of stuff simply works out of the box for me, so I am somewhat stuck on what to do. Could it be a driver-level bug?

    I'm not sure what you mean by "mixed with audio in Alsamixer". Can you clarify?
    With that said, my problem did mysteriously fix itself after some update (presumably to alsa). Unfortunately, I noticed it in passing one day while I was changing the volume of something in pavucontrol, so I don't remember the exact update that caused it to work. But yes, my current setup does work now: I can listen to audio through my DAC and use the Yeti for recording. However, I have found that use of the Yeti crashes Google Hangouts, although it works perfectly in every other program I've tried.
    As documentation, here is my current working setup (it is very similar to the above): in PulseAudio, the DAC is set to be a Digital Stereo (IEC958) output. The Yeti (called an 'Integrated Rate Matching Hub' in pavucontrol) is set to be an Analog Stereo Input. In the input devices section, I have the Yeti's volume set to around 58% (-14.31 dB), which is past the base volume a fair ways but produces decent levels for recording. The DAC's volume is set to 100% (0dB gain, the DAC takes care of the level). In alsamixer, I have the mic level for the Yeti set to 40.
    Edit: This is a long-time-later edit, but let me say that when you have multiple USB audio devices, what USB hub and in what order they are connected seems to matter a great deal. If you can't get your Blue Yeti to work, try moving it to a different set of USB ports (controlled by a different controller) on your motherboard. This magically fixes the issue for me.

    I just recently got a Blue Yeti Pro and I can't get it to work on my Mac. There is no sound coming out of it. It only seems to work when I plug in the headphones. The red light is on, I've tried restarting my Mac, plugging and unplugging the mic, updated my OS, switching usb ports. Nothing seem to work! HELP!!!

  • My Mac Mini isn't recognizing my Blue Yeti (USB) microphone.

    I've had both Mac mini & Blue Yeti for about a year. They both individually work perfectly fine, but it wasn't until recently I decided to use the mic on my mini.
    When I plug my Blue Yeti microphone into the USB port on the back of the Mac Mini, the light on the microphone turns on. In which indicating that the microphone is on. Yet, when in applications such as audacity, garage band, and reaper it will not recognize the microphone.  Disabling me from recording at all. (I also tried Mac preferences via audio, to see if it appears there. Unsuccessful.)

    Yes, when i go to System Preferences>Sounds>input the only thing that appears is
    And also all the ports work, ive tested it out with my iphone charger.
    How do i look up the system report ?

    Hi, I recently bought a yeti pro today. I have a Mac OsX Version 10.6.8. and has about 2 GB of memory left. To start using my mic, I have to go into system preference --> sound--> input--> and then select the microphone..
    The microphone is not in the drop down area... Only the internal microphone is showing.
    If someone could explain why this is happening please.

  • Garagebad W/ Blue Yeti Pro USB

    I am using a Yeti Blue Pro with USB hookup, and every recodring I've done with the mic sounds minuscule and doesn't show at all as waves or anything when viewing it as recorded. I've turned off normailze turned it on, went from mono 1 to mono 2 and stereo and cannot get anything out of it and if i scream bloody murder I get a slight visual resonse to my voice on the screen, when I am hooked up to the mic itself its crystal clear, but when I record it doesn't go above a whisper with me pratically yelling at the microphone, I've tried all four modes on the microphone and the best one is the only one I can really hear anything from. Has anyone else experienced this? I listen to my recordings from the mac itself as well in by beats by dre pro's as well and it is the same output. Any help will do thanks.

    Did you got to preferences > Audio Midi  and choose the yeti as the input?
    Then choose the correct input channel in the track info window?

  • Blue Yeti microphone being activated by OS - won't stay muted!

    I upgraded to Yosemite last night and I love it but for one very annoying bug: I use a Blue Yeti USB microphone as my input device, but since it has such an active diaphragm I keep it muted using the front mute button (turning the input to zero doesn't quite do it) to prevent feedback. Since upgrading, there are a huge number of applications that "un-mute" the mic without my input. Anything, it seems, that might potentially use a microphone activates it. As a result, if I have music playing I will suddenly have the mic feeding back without my consent - very annoying! Is there a fix to this? Any ideas?

    It seems that any time a system sound of any kind is played it trips the mute switch. Very annoying.

    I have a Blue Yeti microphone and when I plug it though USB to my MacBook Pro I can't find it. I have my internal sound input only.
    I use Yosemite OS X.

    You're looking at the Sound input in System Settings?  Should simply work.  If you plug headphones direction into the Yeti, do you hear anything?

  • Premiere Pro CC won't recognise a Blue Yeti Mic-.but only on an iMac?

    I have a Blue Yeti Microphone that works perfectly with Premiere Pro CC on my Macbook Pro, but on my new iMac it isn't listed in the dropdown menu in the Audio Hardware settings.
    The iMac is recognising the Microphone in system Prefs and Audio Midi setup. It also recognises it in Final Cut Pro and in Adobe Audition so it's definately something to do with Premiere Pro.
    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Run the "MIDI Setup" tool on the Mac (comes w/OS X) and create a new Aggregate device.  In that agg device, add the Blue mic and whatever sound output you're using (Line Out, Headphones, etc).  Close the MIDI Setup App.  In Pr, select that new Agg device as your sound device.  In order to record from it, you'll need to create a new mono audio track.  Once done, you should be free to record from it.

    Try one of the Audio Voice Effects like Alien / Cosmic / Robot… etc. to start with…
    Adjust the Settings in the Inspector to your liking…

  • Blue Yeti microphone problem with iPad 2!

    I have a Blue Yeti microphone which I connect to a powered hub (Logik LP4HUB10) and an Apple camera connection kit which I then have used through GarageBand on my iPad 2. Due to various reasons I did not use the Yeti for about 9 months or so. Anyway, when I returned to use it today, when I plug in (through recommended connection sequence) and turn on GarageBand, the microphone does not work. The light is on constantly (doesn't even blink when I press the mute button) and GarageBand does not seem to acknowledge the microphones existence (not even an error message of any sort). I have tried the microphone on my PC and it works fine. The Yeti previously worked fine through GarageBand on my iPad 2. Therefore, can anyone provide any help at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It's really hard to say why it's not working since it should not work to begin with.
    That's a completely unsupported configuration and could very well damage your iPad.

  • Blue Yeti Microphone Issues

    Recently purchased a Blue Yeti microphone from Apple and I've had an issue after only using it for one day.
    In Garageband > Preferences > Audio/MIDI, the microphone used to be recognised as "Yeti Microphone" however it is now recognised as "USB Advanced Audio Device". This has lowered the quality and increased the sensitivity of the mic by 10 fold. I'm not sure what would have caused this since it occurred after I simply unplugged the mic one day and plugged it back in the next and boom it happened.
    Does anyone know how to resolve this? I tried with a new chord as well and that didn't fix the issue...

    I'm not sure if this will help but open the Audio Midi setup utility click the on the Yeti or Advance USB device whatever it shows up as. See if you can change the settings to 44100 and 24 bit.
