Blueberry G3 Dead but not yet buried

A colleague in the office has brought in her daughters old 400MHz G3 which is dead in the water. I've tried a new mains lead, just in case, depressed the start button for several seconds and nothing. No lights noises etc. I see from the detachable cover underneath there's the PRAM battery on view. If that's died would it shut the whole system down. Otherwise it's a case of lifting the bonnet (or hood) and seeing if there's a fuse which may have blown. I know there's no value in it but I'd like to get it going again. Any suggestions at all what it may be? Thank you.

The service manual for the 400 has some conflicting things to say about the PMU battery:
"The battery on the logic board controls the stored system settings,
such as date and time. It is important to note that the battery does
not affect power at startup. However, if the computer has a “No
Power” situation, check the battery before replacing modules.
Refer to “Resetting the Logic Board” mentioned earlier in this
chapter for additional information.
The battery should be replaced if the system loses date and time
settings."
I'll replace those batteries if it's below 3.4V. It can be done thru the RAM port if you have small fingers or use a hemostat.
Otherwise it's a case of lifting the bonnet (or hood) and seeing if there's a fuse which may have blown.
There is a fuse there but if it's blown something catastrophic has happened to the PAV board and it's not worth fixing. I repair a lot of iMac G3s and in cases like this I drop the 400 board into a working 350 body. There can be issues with the location of the heat sink depending on the swap involved and it might have to be moved.
These can be found for cheap or free. I just moved 13 350 - 500 G3s; fixed, new hard drives 10 - 15 GB, at least 256 MB RAM ( OS 9.2.2) or 512 ( 10.4.11 ) to a school in the inner city that had next to no computers at all. These came donated from a church school where they had just been stored in the attic.

I make changes programmatically in a form then i post it using (Post built in).
If the user exits the form, i make check for any changes in the form to commit it using the system variable :system.form_status
Unfortunately the value of this system variable is 'Query' not 'Changed' because of using the post built in.
Is ther another system variable ( or any another way ) that check for posted but not yet commited changes in the form ?

I had faced similar situation. Using of package variable which identifies, what is the user's latest action.
This is just a workaround.
Capture what the user has performed into a variable say, PKG_VAR.ACTION,
This will be assigned values like List L, and Create C, Update U and Saved S.
If commit is executed,assing the status S to the variable.
So while closing,
IF :system.form_status = 'CHANGED' or PKG_VAR.ACTION in ('C','U') THEN
-- validate the data, n perform commit.
else
-- just close the form.
end if;

SD report on sales which have been delivered but not yet billed

Dear all,
Do we have any SAP SD standard report showing a total of the value (preferably by sales office) of sales which have been delivered but not yet billed.
Client has a legacy system which shows report showed up goods which have been PGI'd/delivered but not invoiced - this is exactly what what is required in SAP report.

I'm having some hiccups getting Adobe to register the software, but since I set it as the default .pdf reader during setup, things try (and fail) to open in the as yet unregistered software. How can I change it temporariiy to the Acrobat Reader XI that I have installed?

I'd opened file with the 'Open with' feature then clicking Adobe Reader,
but that didn't do it. When I used 'Open with', then 'Choose default
program...', it worked like a charm.

I believe an SD specialist should've given you a more detailed specification for this. What exactly is "outgoing goods ended" in SAP terms?
Google 'not invoiced report site:sap.com' and run similar searches going forward before posting. Please also make sure to post more specific questions. "Do my job" kinds of posts are frowned upon on SCN (see here).

I am using windows Vista and having this problem also (not exactly, but iTunes gives pop-up that "files are in use"). Acting a suggestion from another answer in this thread, I clicked on Computer and selected eject...windows did warn me that the device was in use, but also gave me a CONTINUE button, which I clicked and it was ejected...had to go back to iTunes and eject the iPod there also, but it did eject

Family sharing - how to see allowed but not yet downloaded apps?

I am using family sharing with some of my relatives - and I have to ask for permission since I am still under 18 years old. Is there a way to display a list of all apps the family organiser approved - even if I haven't buyed them yet (I pressed - by accident - on the cancel button instead of entering my password and can't remember the name of the app)?

Although this will hide it from their purchase list, I don't think there is any way to prevent them from re downloading once permission has been granted.
They could search the App Store & re download it without you getting notification since you originally gave permission.
I guess you could remove their Apple ID entirely & create a new one but that might not be practical.

How do I delete an IOS update that was downloaded in iTunes but not yet installed on iPad

I am currently running IOS 5.1.1 on my iPad. When IOS 6 came out, I connected my iPad to my computer and checked for the update through iTunes 10.7.0.21. When it found it, I had it only download it and not install it. I have yet to install IOS 6 and I now see that the iPad shows IOS 6.01 as an update. But, if I connect the iPad to my computer and fire up iTunes, it says IOS 6 is ready to be installed.
How do I remove IOS 6 from iTunes and have it recheck and find IOS 6.01 without installing the IOS 6 first? Is it possible. I tried removing the iPad2,3_6.0_10A403_Restore file from the c://users/USER/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPad Software Updates folder and restart iTunes but it still tells me that IOS 6 is ready to be installed.
I would like to remove IOS 6 from iTunes so that I can download the IOS 6.01 version and go straight to that instead of installing IOS 6 first and then having to download and install IOS 6.01 after.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Although I could install directly to the iPad, I prefer to go through iTunes so I have a copy of the install file just in case of install issues.
As for downloading the newer update to iTunes, could you elaborate on that. The only way I know how to download the update is to connect the iPad to the computer and fire up iTunes and then have it check for updates. Problem now is that since IOS 6 is sitting there waiting to be installed, I don't have the option to check for updates, just to install IOS 6.
As for installing IOS 6 first and then installing IOS 6.01, I was hoping to avoid the double install if I could while still going through iTunes.

How to get the list of Sales Orders which are delivered (Delivery and PGI is done) but yet Invoice has not been created.
or is there any transaction code where we would come to know the order status with its delivery and invoice number in the list form.
We can see the document flow for individual document but how to see same information in the list form for multiple orders?

Goto Transacion VF04 and enter the details required and you will get the informations on the billing due list for which the delivery and PGI has been done and yet to be billed.
If you have sequence of those then enter it fro From and to....

How to handle stock already physical issued out but not yet PGI from system

I have a scenario which I have a question whether reservation is a solution for my problem below:
The following is our current process:
1.
First, create a sales order,
Second, create delivery order, assuming system propose storage location A in the Delivery Order.
Third, the goods are physical issue out to the customer; HOWEVER, it is not PGI out from the sap system. That means goods are physical not in the warehouse but number still show in MMBE.
Forth, we create a reservation MB21 for this physical issued quantity just so it becomes visible in MRP (i.e. available stock reduced).
Fifth, in order to ensure that user is able to distinguish such kind of stock quantity which have been physically sent to customer but still remain in system, we move the stock quantity to another storage location (B).
Sixth, we change the storage location in the delivery order to the “moved-to” storage location (i.e. B).
Finally, when come to the correct time to perform PGI, user will perform PGI in the SAP system.
Questions:
For the step 7, when I perform PGI, how is the reservation document linked to the Delivery Order?
For the step 4, what is the movement type to use in MB21 for this kind of sales order process?
For the step 6, I do not think the storage location is changeable at this stage. If not changeable, it will become an issue as during PGI, system cannot find the stock quantity?
Is reservation a good solution for step 7?

if you physically goods issue the stock, then you should do it in your system too.
If the stocks are still owned by you while they are at the customer location, then you are just using the wrong process.
you should go for customer consignment, create a consignment fill-up order in VA01, then a delivery, then goods issue the delivery, this will remove the quantity from your storage location and put it into customer consignment stock directly below plant level in your MMBE.
When the customer consumes the material you create another sales order for consignment withdrawal

How to view songs that were recently downloaded, but not yet assigned to a play list?

I am using the new iTunes, version 11.0.2. In the older version, there was a category for last downloads. This allowed me to to view all the downloads in one place then assign them to a playlist. Is this hidden somewhere or there is another way to see the downlods then move them?

You cannot clear the Purchased playlist unless you delete the songs from your library. It is a smart playlist with all your purchases.
Create a new smart playlist.
Limit to x items/size by most recently added.

New Mac Mail but not yet in dock

Hi, I wonder if you can help?
I have logged into the new new .Mac Mail and have found it on the whole, a great improvement. I know this must sound a silly question but how I can I get the new version of .Mac Mail in my dock so I can access it quickly? When I click on the 'old' Mac Mail icon (stamp with an eagle on it), it just reverts to the old, 'unimproved' version of .Mac Mail.

You seem to be confusing Mail (the email client application) with .Mac, a suite of services including an email account that can be accessed either with Mail or with a browser (web mail). Mail has not changed. The web mail interface of .Mac has, so to access it, you must use a browser like Safari.
If you want rapid access to the web mail portal from the dock, you can put a web internet location file there that "points" to the portal: once the web page is visible in your browser, drag the icon just to the left of the web address in the browser toolbar (it will start with http) onto the dock, in the area near the trash & any other document files you have there. They will move aside & allow you to drop the icon into the dock.
To access .Mac web mail quickly, just click on this icon. Your browser will launch & take you to the same page.
