Blueish purple spot in the center on black screen

I've had my macbook pro since June of 2011, and a month or two ago I noticed a spot that was shaped in a times new romanish "T." I was watching a movie earlier today and I noticed it's spreading. When I do clean my screen, I do it very carefully with a soft cloth and such, so I'm pretty sure it's not damage from cleaning. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be?

Just want to make sure that what you are seeing isn't light coming through the apple logo on the back of your screen? Cover it and see if the mark disappears.

I have baught blackberry curve 9300 from Bahrain Airport last week.. now my berry shows a black spot on the center in 1.5 Cm lenght its visible when screen is dark but the white screen doesnt shows clearely. I am afraid whether any daamage happend to my screen. So kindly let me know warranty is available in Dubai or not..

As I said in your original post, iTunes U is not available to any institution, government or otherwise, in South Korea. If or when Apple will extend iTunes U to your country is something none of us here can say, and Apple will not until such time as they're ready to make an announcement. What Apple's criteria and requirements are for being able to open iTunes U in a given country is unknown; there is no "procedure" that any of us here can state or direct you to that you could initiate. It's totally up to Apple, and if they are working on this, I'm sure they know who in the SK government they would need to work with.
Sorry, but you will just have to wait and hope that something develops in the future.

How to make movies open in the center of my screen.

Does anyone know how to make Quicktime open up videos in the center of a screen? When I double click any movie file it pops open in the uppermost far left corner, and I have to drag it down into a more comfortable area. It's annoying with a large monitor.

The script writing lobe of my brain was damaged by years of drug abuse, years ago. Try as I might, I can't seem to get it right.
The most common error I get is:
Expected end of line, etc. but found “end tell”.
I tried modeling one of any number of existing scripts but still no dice.

Can't get rid of Perian software update window in the center of my screen.

When I woke up my computer this morning, there was a Perian software update window right in the center of my screen. I cannot get rid of it and don't want to install it. No matter what I push...it won't budge. My choices are Skip this version, remind me later or install update...as I said I don't want to install it...how do I get rid of it ?

If that doesn't get rid of it, hold the power button down until the MacBook shuts down. Then start up again.

What is the technical 'cause' of the infamous iMac black screen problem?

Can anybody shed some light on what technical malfunction exactly causes the infamous iMac black screen problem? The common solution seems to be a logic board replacement. But what exactly is broken on the logic board? Is it the Geforce chip? Some kind of external driver circuitry? Or something completely different?

In specific I am referring to machines where all of this applies:
- internal monitor stays black after power-on
- computer boots normally
- external display works normally
- internal display backlight works and can be adjusted in brightness, but all pixels are black
- PRAM reset doesn't help
- NVRAM reset doesn't help
- PMU reset doesn't help
- reinstalling OS / booting from CD doesn't help
- machines with this problem sent to repair come back with a replaced logic board
I'm looking for more information on the technical cause of the exact problem as stated above. So I can attempt to repair my iMac

Quick update, the duplicate of the comic-con episode downloaded succesfully, and so has the first episode of Supernatural season 8. Blue dots appear to their left in the library.
All the Vampire Diaries episodes (except the bonus comic-con double) have vanished, but I paid for them !
They're not anywhere on my harddrive either.
Which is new by the way, this is a new MacbookPro, literally set it up today.
So it would seem this is a case of purchased and pseudo-downloaded episodes that ended up beinge gobbled up by some iTunes black hole, leaving me with no money, and no episodes.

Tried to open an app and my iPad gen one froze. It only shows the apple on black screen and will show the operating wheel sometimes and while plugged in it will beep every few minutes. Will not load one show anything on screen but the small white apple.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hi, I have noticed in the past couple of days that there are some brown spots in the corners of my screen. They are behind the screen nothing has been spilled. Does anyone have any idea what this could be??

Why are you sure that its only the internal monitor? Did you check an external monitor already?
I dont know if its get worse. I think nobody is be able to say that.
Can you notice this issue in BIOS too or only on Windows? Maybe its just a software issue.
By the way, Im pretty sure that your OS is not Firefox. OS means operating system, for example Windows XP.
I dont know how much a new display costs but you can ask an authorized service provider. This takes only few minutes and the technicians will try to help you.

Black Vertical lines and a thin yellow haze in the center of my screen

I can't seem to find the answer to this question, or one that my be a solution. I recently discovered black vertical lines and a yellow haze in the center of my ipod nano 4GB.
One discussion said I should put it to sleep for 4 hours and the lines will erase. That didn't work. What's the common cause to this and how can I fix it? And could it be because I converted it from a mac to windows itunes?

Try giving it a reset. hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that fixes it.

Is there a command to open an application menu because on other peoples macs i saw them open a little bar in the center of there screen with 4 apps running and i have did that before but on accident and i did not know what i clicked. how do i open it?

Mission Control? It isn't a little bar in the center of the screen but does display the running apps. You can access it via the Control+Up arrow key combination and there are preferences for it in System Preferences.

The Windows 7 Black Screen Issue

I am putting in Bootcamp with a Windows 7 install. I checked these forums and made sure I had all my prep work done.
I referenced article TS3173 and downloaded the neccessary drivers for 7, formatted a 16GB SD Card as FAT Bootable and copied the drivers and autounattend.xml files onto the root of the drive.
THe installation as going as planned but at the end I'm still ending up with a black screen. Windows is installed ok but on the restart after" Preparing for FIrst Use" comes up the screen goes black.
Obviously, the drivers are not being installed from the SD card, I tried it on a USB External driver as well. Am I missing something here? I read every post I could find on it and I can't see where I am doing anything incorrectly.

You don't need Paragon or another NTFS driver. That may work (I've used it, but I was using a full hard drive anyway to begin with).

ITunes opening up in the center of my Screen??

I transition between the full iTunes window and the mini player many times each day, and I keep both window types at the bottom right of my screen for ease of access. This worked out great for me until I upgraded to 9.2 yesterday. Since then, iTunes keeps showing up in the middle of my screen! I move it to the bottom right, then switch to the mini player, and it moves back to the center. So I move the mini player to the bottom right, but when I switch to the full window, it positions itself to the center again!! Why is this happening?? I couldn't find anything in the preferences menu, so is there any other way to disable this?
