Blueprint structure in Solution Manager

Dear all,
We are in the process of finalising a Blueprint structure in Solution Manager. As this is the first solution manager is being used in BW specific project we are a bit confused on the way we can structure the Blueprint. When i say the structure i mean, what all to be part of the Blueprint Business scenarios in SOlution manager. As solution manager asks a particular way of structuring it please help me.
Regards
Viajy

In SAP's BPR, BI is used as a process in a scenario not as it's own scenario.
For instance there is a Service Desk Scenario in the BPR, and there is a process called BI Reporting in this scenario. It is further broken down into the steps:  Select Data for Analysis, Schedule Reporting, Schedule Process Chains, Edit the BI-Report and Analyze Data.
I've seen people create scenarios called Reporting or BI with all the reports in this node, however, this scenario isn't as reuseable. Meaning you''ve lost the link between your Scenario, such as Service Desk, and the reports that support the the Service Desk.

Jason

  • Business Blueprint Structures in Solution Manager

    Hi,
    Can we change the structure node names under Business Blueprint tree on Solution manager. This is accessed by SOLAR01 transaction.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vinayak Thorat

    Hi Sai
    answer is more simple the way you add standard business process in structure tab solar01, same way you can add master data or organization model for business process.
    e.g.
    you can add customer master or vendor master as a master data for a E2E process
    in all the situation we use this because practically no process works without master data but its upto the level of documentation you want to make in solution manager rather than dumping project documents only and making it more meaningful by adding above
    i hope you have got the answer now

  • How to maintain a common document in solution manager

    Gurus ,
    we are in the process of configuring service desk . One major type of support message we receive is user creation /modification .
    currently we maintain these details in an common  excel sheet .  if a new  requirement is made they take the latest modified excel sheet and mark the changes in them .
    But now what we need in , we need to maintain this document is solution manager server .
    and the users can access the document , make changes , save it and upload it back to the server .
    any of you have any suggestions on implementing the same

    Hello Susin,
    User Creation / Deletion / Modification is a Change in the system. It cannot be handled via a standard central document like a Excel on a datshare.
    Solution Manager is not a content repository to be used for storing such documents. There is no way that you can acheive it as a standard process.
    Probably what you can do is as follows :
    - Create a table structure in Solution Manager and assign it colums as needed.
    - Then write a ABAP Code to access and maintain this table Structure.
    - Assign a transaction code to the ABAP Code so that it can be accessed by different users.
    I hope that the reply helps.
    Regards
    Amit

  • Use of CRMD_Order with Solution Manager

    When you create a change request through the CRMD_order how do you link it to a business process structure in Solution Manager? Through custom fields? Or are you obligated to start the initiation of a change request within solution manager through issue/message tab in configuration (SOLAR02)?

    I do not know if anyone can confirm this , but I finally was able to assign the business scenarios from my business process structure to the solution with the source project.
    (For those interested you have to go into transaction DSWP, Select Solution Landscape, go into Solution Landscape Maintenance, select your solution structure on the left side of the screen and get into business scenarios, make sure you are in change mode, then use the download under scenario name to select your scenarios).
    When I create an issue and this is what I hope someone can confirm, go into context and add a business scenario, it doesn't show in SOLAR02 under the issues/messages tab.
    This is somewhat inconsistent, as when I create an issue out of SOLAR02 it does assign the business scenario automatically and obviously will show in the list. I am not sure why it doesn't show when I create the issue out of DSWP.
    Thanks

  • How do you restrict access to a business process structure in Solution Mngr

    We have set up a business process structure in Solution Manager that includes Finance to Manage and Hire to Retire.
    Although it is Ok for people to display the documentation in each area, we do have the requirement that the people owning Finance to Manage should not able to change the documentation in Hire to Retire and visa versa. Is there a security object that restrict this access? Are there other ways doing this?
    Thanks
    Paul

    I am not a security person, but we have the following details in the profile. You can change these if you click on these areas changing it to display or change mode
    SAP Solution Manager Tab AI_SA_TAB
    --> SAP Solution Manager Tab
        ---> Activity 02, 90
        ---> Tab in SAP Solution Manager BCSETS, CONFIG, CUSTDOCU, GRAPHIC, IMG, ISSUE, (ETC.)
    > Transaction Type in SAP Solution Manager  1
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
    You need to Have the Java Software compoent of Enterpirse portal defined under software components.(You can have the source from SLD).
    Then define the new system, Database for your SID and correct product version.
    Give the software comeponent information in the main Instance selection.(Reference it).

  • Upload Project Structure or Roadmap from MS Project to solution manager

    I have a project ready in MS Project .
    I want to make a roadmap out of it.
    How is that possible? Do I have to manually edit roadmap structure?
    OR Is it possible to upload Project Structure or Roadmap from MS Project to solution manager?

    Hi Hussain,
    Can you please check [this|Creating new Roadmaps; thread for general overview on custom Roadmaps.
    In answer to your specific question, it's not possible to create a Roadmap straight out of MS Project, in standard SolMan.

  • Solar01/solar02 in solution manager: landscape structure definition- urgent

    Hi Forum Members,
    I need to understand whether this is possible and if it is then how do i do it; any step by step manual from SAP is available. We have solman 7.1 and project with type 'implementation' created. When i go to solar01/02 i can maintain business scenario for ERP with relevant business processes however our landscape is like ERP, CRM, Enterprise Portal , DMS (Document Management System), TREX. I wish to adjust solar 01 business process structure in a way that it reflects the entire landscape. So, regarding i have few questions as below. Please let me know your views ASAP as i am runnig very short of time to asetup
    1. Is it possible to adust all these applications in the single business process structure e.g. one implementation project has business scenarios to ERP, CRM, EP and so on.
    Business process structure we get is general with nodes after project creation in project administrtion is :
    A.Organizational unit
    B. Master Data
    C. Business scenarios.
    2. If not then do i have to create individual projects for each aplication like one for ERP and Other for CRM and so on.
    For reference please see the below prototype i am expecting to achive by doing this (solar01) :
    <Implementation Project>
    A.Organizational unit
    B. Master Data
    C. Business scenarios
    <Business scenario for ERP>
    <Business scenario for CRM>
    <Business scenario for EP>
    <Business scenario for DMS>
    <Business scenario for TREX>
    D.Interfaces
    <Applicable interfaces>

    Hi Prakhar,
    Thank you for the quick reponse and feel really nice to see you on this queries posted by me. I saw plenty of your threads earlier clarifying so many things on SCN.
    I wish to admit that i am new to solution manager. So from the understanding prospective would you confirm that in core you are saying that technically it cant be realized (individual business scenarios for each applicaton type) as you have explained that one scenario runs on different systems. I mean to say SAP doesnt support this that is what you wish to say? This confirmtaion is needed to rule out the option of adjusting business process structure as i am expecting to be.
    Also, I have to select business scenario in 'business scenario' and adjust it to run on different systems in under GRAPHIC tab in solar01 provided logical components are mentioned appropriately. I am refering to below link for designing the business process structure
    https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_SHORTKEY=00200797470000089860&_OBJECT=011000358700000910652011E
    Would appreciate your quick response

  • Business Process Blueprinting Tool (BPB) Publish Error - Solution Manager 7.1 SP10

    Hello SCN members!
    The company where I work recently implemented the SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 and now we are trying to learn how to use the SAP Business Process Blueprinting (BPB) Tool to design all enterprise processes inside it.
    I followed all the steps of the official BPB installation guide and from another BPB discussion (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3258935) but the tool is not working properly. Some relevant points are:
    I can create and publish Business Scenarios but can’t do the same with Business Processes
    Business Scenario Created and Published:
    Business Process created but not published, returning a connection error:
    I don’t understand why the tool works for the Business Scenario level but not for the Business Process level. Could anyone help?

    Hello SCN members!
    I solved both of my problems in BPB tool and would like to share with the community the solution.
    Basically I recriated both logical ports in soamanager:
    LP_SOCO_SOLAR
    LP_SMSY
    This solved all my problems detected in the tool.
    Thanks again for the suggestions showed!

  • How to create a "blueprint" using solution manager?!!

    I have been asked to create a 'blueprint" using solution manager!! I have absolutely no clue how this can be achieved using solution manager!! Please guide me on what is to be done.Would appreciate if you donot give me links of help.sap as the same is not making sense to me.
    I have to create a blueprint for 20 countries of SAP reports available for FICO. Some of these reports are country specific while others are generic.

    Hi Suchita,
         You can create blueprint document using SOLAR01 transcation, provided you must have included all the organizational data, business process, master data,,
    Follow the path
    transaction SOLAR01->Business Blueprint-> Generate Blueprint
    You must have created a solution and a project assigned to that solution also.
    further clarifications feel to post the query
    regards

  • How to create Document Structure for existing project in Solution Manager

    Hi gurus
    We have all the project document saved using Solution manager . we have ended with Phase1.
    We are starting Phase2 and they are asking me to creat different folder as Phase to in existing project and store all the Documents
    Can any one please tell me how to create New folder and store the documents in Existing project
    Point will given for helpfull Answer
    Thanks
    Bhaskar

    Hi Bhaskar,
    Assuming you have full authorisations, the procedure is simple.
    Please go SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN transaction.
    From the menu please select Project -> Copy
    In the ensuing screen, key in your desired project name, scroll through the other checkboxes to see if you are happy with the default choices; if not, take corrective actions.
    In the last set of radi buttons "Desired behaviour at later version comparison", the default choice (2nd entry there - Adjust target project to the original of the source project) is fine.
    From your scenario, since you do not have a Template -> Implementation Project functionality and instead are copying from one Implementation to the other, this radio button is of little consequence.
    Execute the process.
    In the window that comes up, please choose Local Object, assuming that you do not want to capture the whole contents into a 'Transport'. This is more required if you are aiming to copy the project from one SolMan instance to another.
    It would give an information message "Generating in batch job (Name ......)
    In a few minutes, you'd receive an intimation of the Project being copied.
    That's pretty much about it. Have a check on the newly created project in SOLAR01.
    Please let me know if you have any doubts.
    Best regards,
    Srini

  • How to downloadin Business Process Repository in Solution Manager?

    Hello,
    Does anybody know how to download whole Business Process Repository from solution manager?
    I know how to download BPR, that are related to project, to excel file, but I want to download all the scenarios,processes are inbuilt to the Solution Manager business blueprint.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks,
    Mahantesh

    Hello Mahantesh,
    I suppose that your idea behind this question is that you would like to browse the contents of the BPR. For this specific pupose, SAP will deliver a new web dynpro application with SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SP 12 and the respective stack coming out mid June 2007 which allows you to browse all BPR contents in your SAP Solution Manager system. So you no longer have to create a seperate project and select the contents via F4 value help in SOLAR01 in order to access the contents.
    For further updates, please check the news mid June:
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager">http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager</a>
    Media Library -> Technical Papers. It will probably be called: "4.0 Support Package Stack <latest stack> [probably stack 12]"
    However, please note that an individual download of the entire or partial BPR structures into MS Excel will not be possible.
    Best regards,
    Doreen Baseler

  • In Solution Manager, where can I find the SRM 7.0 Configuration Guide?

    Please give me directions on how to download the SRM 7.0 configuration guide within Solution Manager, these documents are not available on the service marketplace.  We have sol manager 4 I believe, it's not sol manger 7.0.
    Also, if you could send me the guide at matt.joseph at thq.com that would save me from losing more time trying to figure out Solution Manger
    Thanks for your help.
    Matt

    Matt,
    1. Log on to your SAP Solution Manager system.
    2. To be able to access configuration documentation, create a project as follows:
    1. Create your project with transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN for project administration.
    2. Connect your SAP system to SAP Solution Manager with transaction SMSY for the SAP Solution Manager system landscape.
    3. Create a project structure and add the required scenarios for your SAP system to your project structure with the Business Blueprint transaction SOLAR01,
    4. Add your SAP system configuration structures to your project structure with the configuration transaction SOLAR02.
    3. Go to the project structure folder <project name> using transaction SOLAR02.
    4. Access configuration documentation for SAP NetWeaver usage types at Configuration StructureSAP NetWeaver 7.0.
    5. Access configuration documentation for all areas of SAP SRM at Configuration StructureSAP SRM <release>.

  • Solution Manager 4.0 Implementation Tools Experience Information

    Hi,
    We are looking at implementing the Blueprint, Configuration and Test Manager implementation tools for SM 4.0 to assist with our ERP2005 upgrade from 4.6C.
    We have gone through pretty much everything that is available online for SM in SAP Service Marketplace and have taken SM training SMI310. We are at the next step of proceeding with the implementation.
    I am looking for <b>anyone who has gone through an SM implementation</b> and can help with documented standards, templates and defined processes and user roles for Solution Manager implementation of the Blueprint, Configuration and Test Manager implementation tools.
    Anything that can give us a better understanding and a head start to our SM implementation would be appreciated.

    Hi
    To answer some of your questions:
    Keywords: We have used keyword "In scope" on structure nodes (processes, process steps) to allow the consultants to add relevant processes and documentation which is not relevant for the current project but must likely will be later. The keyword can then be used as a filter when generating blueprint.
    Furthermore we have used keywords related to prototypes - so it is easy to apply a filter to show eg. which scenarios/processes are included in prototype1, prototype2 and so on,
    We have a long list of documentation types, based on the best practice templates. Too many to list here.
    Solution manager keeps track of document versions (history), so we use the standard status codes: "in process", when worked on. "review", when submittet to approval and "released" when finished.
    There is no technical difference between doing config from SM vs in dev system  - as you basically access the img. But for people used to workíng in Dev system directly, it is a quite new way to work. And there are some configuration items not in the IMG - which then cannot be linked into SM.
    IMG objects will appear in several processes, and one option is to link in the same img objects in several processes, and then place the documentation along with the objects in a way where the consultant use the "where used" function on img objects to check if it has already been used elsewhere, and then create a link to the documentation there, and work in the same document. But in several cases they would have to start a new document, if it is not logical to add to other documents containing info on how the img object is configured.
    You can use the standard roles for application consultant and project manager - they should cover implementation needs.
    Hope some of this information is useful
    Regards
    Lars
