How can I get my BlueRay player back?

So we got a brand new Sony BlueRay player at Christmas and in March it refused to eject a DVD. I figure it's brand new, so rather than open it and remove the DVD and risk voiding a warranty, I'll send it in for service. I spoke to Jaime in early April and sent it back with a note with my contact information, a request to return the DVD and the receipt. Over a month goes by and I check in only to be told it's been lost. On 6/10 I spoke to Lovee who told me they would be sending me a replacement. On 6/17 I get a very rude call from Joseph who says I need to again provide an original receipt. When I explain that it's in the box they say they can't locate the box, my blueray player or my DVD. Over the course of my communication with the company I was also told that I sent things to the wrong address, couldn't be escalated to a supervisor, told that I had no other options for service, told their computer was down and had to suffer through a terrible and redundant phone tree. Overall, I am shocked at the terrible quality of Sony Customer Service. It's like a bad compilation of all of the worst elements of 90s telephone service. I have purchased many Sony products but I'm horrified of having to go through it again. At this point I just want my BlueRay player back, and want higher ups in Sony to know how terrible this is.

Playback on blueray player

Somewhat of a novice, so please go easy. I have tried to burn a couple of HD projects in DVD Studio Pro with some success. I can play back the disc on my workstation just fine, but when I try to watch it on my blueray player it does not recognize the disc. Any ideas as to what I am be doing wrong?

I guess I did not phrase my question correctly. According to my BR player it can play hi def content off a DVD. I have tested this feature from a DVD that I burned on IDVD that holds HD content. (maybe it down sampled it.) It plays just fine. Thus I was hoping that DVDSP would allow me to do the same. From what I gather the SD setting will reset the hi def video to standard. Has anyone attempted this?
Maybe I should test this in Encore.

I also have this problem on an Envy 17 laptop with a HP DVDBD TS-TB23L drive that shows up as a BD-ROM. It will play music and read data discs but not play BLURAY or DVD discs. It is very disheartening to finid such a lack of support for any problems on HP machines and will make me question ever buy an HP device. They seem to produce them at such a rate that they never bother when things go wrong as there is another being produced in the next five minutes. At first I thought this was a problem with the drive but now I suspect it is a software problem they are not bothering to resolve.

Panasonic 3-d tv and sony 3-d blueray player

I have the tc-p50ut50 tv, and the sony blueray player.
Having a hell of a time getting the glasses to work with a 3d DVD. The glasses work fine if i turn the tv to 3-d and watch cable TV, but when i put in a 3-d movie such as avatar, the glasses won't work and i just see the picture with the red outline or blurriness in words and background. Do i need to get different glasses for the DVD player since the tv is not converting it or do i need to change some setting some where or what?
The glasses are the panasonic ones that you charge with the usb.

yes they paired with the TV. simulated 3d not cable company.
settings are auto 1, medium contrast.
I played with it last night, if i turn 3-d on on the tv and watche the movie i can tell its 3-d with the glasses on but still everything is outlined in red and some stuff is blurry. so i assume the tv protion of simulated 3d is working but the glasses aren't picking up the b;ue ray disc features of 3-d.

Try Auto 2, then manual if that doesn't work. I have my Panasonic set to Auto 2 and 3D bluray work fine.

A burner should be able to play Blu-ray discs, so I'm assuming that you're inquiring about an app that would let you view your Blu-ray discs on a Mac? MacX DVD Ripper Pro and Handbrake
Neither is suitable for burning DVDs or BluRay media. They are DVD rippers/converters, not DVD authoring tools. Handbrake doesn't produce any format suitable for DVD Authoring. And while MacDVD Ripper can create .mov files even that's not a guarantee the file can be used for DVD authoring. You need DVD Authoring software like Roxio Toast to burn DVDs or BluRay disks.
Most BluRay players can play both standard def DVDs and high def BluRay disks. Which kind do you want to burn? And what exactly is your source media (video) that you want to burn?
And if you want to burn BluRay disks, you need a BluRay burner.

You could try the following:
Use HP Recovery Manager to restore the driver
Use HP Update and see if any updates are available
The DVD player software has an update function
Your video driver may need updating -- try the manufacturer's web site

Either CAT5e or CAT6 will work fine. If you want to "future proof" your wiring, use CAT6. It won't provide any better performance now, but may in a few years when faster devices start to become the norm.
Careful.....CAT6 is a stiffer cable and will not bend around corners as sharply as CAT5e

Playing 3-D disc on new Sony Blueray Player

I just purchased a Sony Bravia TV with HD and 3D. The Geek Squad installed it yesterday and everything was working fine. Now when I try to play the 3-D
movie ,it will not play.When I press play, it reads that a 3D disc is detected but it it then keeps stating that this disc is currently prohibited. Yhe 3D disc was purchased at Best Buy in a package deal with the 3D glasses.Any idea why the disc won't play??? I can get a regular DVD to play without problems.

Connect your player to the Internet and see if there is a firmware update. Do the same with your TV if it's one that has software.

You are attempting to do this in a very difficult manner. Why not simply get an AppleTV ($75 refurbished from Apple) and you can share all your iPhoto content on your TV. That would be much easier than exporting to a CD/DVD, loading it into a player and then playing from a DVD. Apple tells about setting up Home Sharing in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4352.

I looked at the setup for my player and this is a selection; BD Hybrid Disc Playback Layer with the direction ....Set the playback layer when using a BD hybrid disc. with the choice to select BD or DVD/CD. I am wanting create a slideshow of images in PRE11 no menu just a few transitions; how do I need to burn this ? I have a new computer with a Blue-ray burner. I have already created a slideshow dvd and it plays in the blueray player but I want it to repeat playing. I appreciate any help.

What is the duration of your Timeline and how many times did you want the Timeline content to loop in the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc playback?
There are 3rd party software that have been used successfully to take the Premiere Elements DVD burn to folder VIDEO_TS and add commands for the looping. But then you must find a 3rd party software for burning the VIDEO_TS edited for looping to a DVD disc. ImgBurn has been suggested, but I just want to make sure it does first hand. That pgcedit software and infoEdit.

If you had a Windows Live Movie Maker/Windows DVD Maker workflow, looping would be available in Windows DVD Maker.

But, I do not know if that is all that advisable with your present project goals and the video editing advantages of Premiere Elements. Did you say that you have Windows 7 or 8 64 bit? Windows 8 no longer comes with the Windows DVD Maker.

"Repeat (All/1 title): Yes (All/1 title/1 chapter/1 track". Not sure what that is all about, but worth a look at.
Did you call Sony sales to see if you could get the definitive answer on looping playback with your Sony player?
