Bluethoot keyboard on trouble

When I push the On button of my bluethoot keyboard, the indicator light don't glows for ca 5 seconds, so I'm not able to match with the laptop. Is it a matter of hardware or software?

If it's on, and you have Bluetooth on and able to discover devices, then it should just work.
Is this an Apple or a third-party Bluetooth keyboard? If third-party and you can't get it to connect, I'd get in touch with the manufacturer.

  • Backlit keyboard repeated trouble

    Hi everybody;
I have a MBPR that I use to work, about a pair of months ago it had several issues. First the camera stop working, then the backlit began to flashing. I had to take it to the technical service. To repair the first trouble (the camera) they had to replace the logic board and a week after  for  the flashing backlit problem they had to replaced the logic board again, the display and the top case. This repairs delayed more than a month  and the device was returned to me a few days ago.
All looks good, but today I noted that after several hours of working (about 3 hours), the backlit stop of run and dont work in any way, if I turn off the computer and turn on after an hours the backlit works normal again.
I really dont know what to do about it, I would like that my device works perfect because is almost a new device, and with these issues and all the pieces that have been replaced I'm afrait that in the future could be a bigger problem. By other hand I dont wanna go to the technical service again because I use my computer to work  and because the all the  bad working device I'm delayed in more than a month. So I would like your opinion about this issue. Do you think that the backlit issue could be something more serius in the future? Maybe there is easier solution and I dont have to go to the technical service again.
    Thank you.

You probably have the backlit feature turned off in the Keyboard and Mouse system preference. Turn it back on. The other possibility is your room is too light for the keyboard to activate. You can cover up the left and right speaker grills to simulate darkness and try the keyboard short cuts.

  • Tecra A4: Bios passwords rejected: keyboard layout trouble?

Before traveling I have decided to protect my professional laptop (Tecra A4) with both a Bios password and a harddrive password.
I went into the Bios, entered the main password, went on page 2, enter the disk password, rebooted, got prompted for the password, type it... rejected. Tried 3 times and the laptop stoped.
What is going on here? I *know* the password I typed, plus I typed it twice in the Bios screen, so I am *sure* of what I typed.
Sooo I am suspected a keyboard layout issue, as I have an Azerty layout.
Is it possible that when in the Bios admin the layout is one way and in the initial password screen, another way? I have used "a" and "m", letters that move between Qwerty and Azerty.
Of course I have tried typing my password with "q" instead of "a" and ";" instead of "m", but to no avail.
I am locked. This is driving me nuts.
    Any help welcome,
    David

    Hi
I have investigated a little bit on the Toshiba website and found this Toshiba document:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB5A0164000IR01.htm
Well, if you will not solve this issue you have to contact the Toshiba service.
He can downgrade the BIOS or remove the BIOS password.

  • Keyboard / mouse trouble on V210

Have just bought a Sun Fire V210 server, and installed a graphics card. Everything is working fine, except the mouse. Both the mouse and the keyboard are connected to the same USB-port by use of a USB to PS2 connector. To verify that the connector was not the problem, I have also tried to connect a USB mouse and a USB keyboard directly to the two USB ports, but this did not solve the problem.
    The mouse just wont work

  • Keyboard shortcut trouble

    Hi,
I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable the default Leopard settings for F5, F6, F7 and F8. In the sys prefs/keyboard settings, I only see things using option and shift and so on--not the base F8 controls. This is killing me. When I try to use Flash and set the quick keys for control-shift F8 or whatever, I end up playing/pausing my iTunes.
    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Open up iTunes then click and hold on the Help menu, scroll down to Keyboard Shortcuts for all the info you should need.

  • Wireless keyboard - keyPad trouble

    Hi
My keypad for my iMAC doesn't work. When i press the numbers it freezes the computer.
How can i repair that problem?
    Thank you.

    Stephane
I have solved my problem by doing the following steps:
    Go into Bluetooth keyboard and mouse;
    Click the question mark in the top right hand corner;
This will open up a panel called Changing the way your mouse works.(Don't worry this action will cure your keyboard)
    Scoll to the bottom of the panel and click on Universal Access Preferences;
When the new window appears click on Mouse at the top of the page.
When that next page appears where it says Mouse Keys ensure the 'off' button is highlighted. This should stop the computer thinking you are using the mouse do some keyboard functions. This should work OK. Please let me know if it does. Best Regards Maurice49

  • SWT_AWT mouse/keyboard event trouble

    Hello everyone,
I have created an ActiveX Component with Visual C++ that uses a WEmbeddedFrame to contain a Swing based GUI. I have copied the code from the SWT_AWT class in the SWT toolkit and it worked fine up to JDK 1.5.0_03.
Starting with JDK 1.5.0_04 the Swing GUI does no longer receive Mouse/keyboard events.
I have read through all available material concerning this problem and I have tried the two possible solutions that these documents suggest:
    - called addNotify() on the embedded frame
    - inserted a heavyweight container (java.awt.Panel) between Embedded Frame and the Swing GUI
However, no luck. The GUI displays fine but does not respond to user actions.
Does anybody have an idea what might have changed from 1.5.0_03 to 1.5.0_04, that could help me solve this puzzle?
Thank you very much in advance,
    Helmut

SWT works up to 1 tree and two text components only. If you have more than that, you windows will get tainted. Basically it's useless to wirte any useful programs for Windows. You never get comaptible latest look from it both mac and windows. Don't waste time for learning it. You better spend time for learning other things. If AWT/Swing is not good enough, learn native languages such as Visual C++/Basic! I have to say SWT wasn't meant to give us better programming platform!

  • Mac Mini fails to detect Aluminum Keyboard at Boot, Aka Support Keys

I've recently had the misfortune of diagnosing a failing hard drive on a my Mac mini. This is a First Gen Intel Mac Min, 1.6ghz, so its about 2 years old now. I have recently purchased a new Aluminum Keyboard, as my older white Apple keyboard had started to have issues, ( some of the keys weren't working any more).
When I started to go through the diagnostics I was concerned that my Mac mini was further in trouble than just a bad HD. As with each boot, the Mac would fail to recognize the standard startup keys, CMD+S, V, Or Even C, D. Nothing I tried could I get the Mac Mini to startup in any mode other than normal startup, which at this point was failing.
I managed to dig out the original White apple keyboard, and plug it in, how ever with only partial keyboard access, trouble shooting was extremely limited.
So the question that I have, is there a way to correct the Mac Mini so it recognizes the Aluminum keyboard during start up, or do I need to find a working white keyboard on E-bay?

The thread has been 'archived' meaning that it dates from a long time ago (two years) and has not had any posts in the intervening time. Threads in that situation are archived so they can be searched and reviewed, but no further contributions added. The exception to no further contributions is that the OP of the thread can add to it - the intention being that OPs can return and mark threads as solved and award stars, also add commentary to clarify their resolution if they need to. Sadly in some instances OPs have added comments which are misleading or inaccurate, but of course no-one else can add further posts to say so!
If you use the 'report this post' link and ask the Hosts to unlock the thread to correct an erroneous addition, they can do so (though they may not of course!
Your comments would have made a welcome clarification I think!

  • Alluminium keyboard - volume keys?

Hi there - I'm running a Mac Pro / Tiger 10.4.9 and just bought a new alluminium keyboard. Trouble is the volume keys don't seem to do anything other than make all the open programmes slide off the page. It's plugged into the 23" cinema display and the old keyboard worked fine.
    Many thanks!

You should update to 10.4.11 (or at least 10.4.10). You can then install the keyboard software that will make the keys work correctly:
    <http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/keyboardsoftwareupdate12.html>
Until you do, the volume keys just act as F keys, which normally control Exposé, thus moving your windows. After the update, Exposé will be controlled by F3 (and F3 with Control or Command).
There is also a firmware update for the keyboard, but it requires Leopard:

  • Killed Helix Keyboard

hi everyone, this is a desparate post from Singapore. Accidentally spilled coffee on my 2 weeks old Helix and killed my keyboard almost instantaneously. Quotation from Service centre for repair is SGD1200 .. a really hefty price to pay for a keyboard repair. Tried the option to buy a new keyboard but Lenovo don't seem to sell them in parts.
Anyone has encountered similar situation and found a more economical way to resolve? Thank you and praying hard that i get some help here. thank you.

Same happened to me... (with tea, but thankfully without suger)
    1. You must decide if you are able/willing to disassemble and replace the damaged FRU.
For this, please consult the factory videos:
    http://service.lenovo.partner-management.com/content/CourseWarePublic/18124/player.html
    and the Hardware Maintenance Manual:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?DocID=UM017304
    2. If yes, you have to check which parts are damaged: is it only the keyboard, or others like Keyboard Dock I/O Board?
Then download the Helix FRU list (Field Replaceable Unit):
    http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/helix_fru_bom_20130520.pdf
You can find a description of the Keyboard Dock:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?DocID=PD026782
Here is also a link to the Online Shop (in my case, it was IBM Part Sales Germany) My keyboard had only problems with 3 keys, so I just ordered a new one. The shop shows a delivery time of up to 4 weeks, but I was told that they expect the German keyboard for  Oct-16.
    Price: 145 EUR + Tax + Shipping.
For info: If the I/O Board is OK and only the Keyboard makes trouble, you can use the Dock and connect in parallel a Bluetooth Keyboard meanwhile...
    Hope it helps

  • Rewired Reason with Logic

    Hey guys,
I am new here. I successfully rewired reason so I can hear it in Logic, but the only problem is that I hear both programs playing the sound. There might be a quick and easy solution that I do not know of since I am quite new to logic.
Anyways hope you guys can help me out!

I had the same problem.... contacted Reason Support and they said the following :
"You have to go to Reason Menu > Preferences > keyboards and control surfaces and un-tick the 'Use with Reason' box next to your keyboard."
Trouble is that when you use Reason in Stand alone then you need to check the boxes back again.
    Hope this works

  • K8N SLI-F so many problems....but I don't think it's the board....

Well you never know it could be the board...but here's the problems.
For the first and most annoying problem. If I change anything inside my case that deals with the power supply the computer won't start unless I unplug one of my hdd. Right now I only have the 2 pata's plugged in because my sata didn't work so it needs to be replaced and the 120 gb pata won't let the computer start. If the hdd is plugged in the computer will start for a second and then turn off by itself. It will only do this once then I have to switch the powersupply off from the back and then switch it back on after a few seconds. I think it has to do with my powersupply but right now its running a 550w real power psu.
The next problem is raid. I have the 2 160's running under a raid 0 configuration but when I try to install windows xp, and its at the Installing Devices, I get a number of boxes asking me if I want to install these drivers which aren't xp certified. The drivers deal with the nVidia raid and sata and pata controllers. So anyways the boxes aren't a problem until I get to one where my mouse and keyboard die but the computer is still running because that little thing on the xp setup keeps going back and forth. both keyboard nad mouse are usb. I think the power supply has something to do with these problems but I don't know. I just bought most of these parts. Any help is good!
    -EDIT-
I fixed the problem in windows xp setup dealing with the raid and keyboard/mouse trouble. I downloaded new raid drivers from MSI and now it works. But...it crashes sometimes and as of yet I still haven't been able to log on to windows.
    Thanks,
    Rishi

Hi! Good news and some bad news. Bad news is that I think my power supply can't handle the load I'm giving it because the there are 3 12v rails and the amps on each aren't that high. The good news is that I fixed the raid problem. I was searching the net last night and found this site which told me everything I needed to know about fixing that damn raid problem. The reason my computer kept restarting after I installed windows xp on raid was because xp was installing the default windows disk controller drivers after the installation completed. Sooo, to fix this I had to slipstream my nvraid drivers to the windows xp setup cd and then install. It worked like a charm! Too bad my computer still randomly shuts off. It has got to be the power supply since I've checked if the board is getting shorted and all the connections etc... So I'm planning to buy a new power supply...any suggestions...I'd also only like 1x12v rail with atleast 32A. Otherwise, I'm good . Thanks to everyone that helped and if anyone has any more suggestions about the power feel free to let me know!
The site below told me how to fix the raid problem.
