Bluetooth. 2 simultaneous connections

Hi
I'm planning to upgrade my phone (currently a 6310i which does almost all I want....cameras and radios I don't need.
What I would like is to be able to pair two bluetooth devices. These would be phone modem to connect to net to update Tomtom traffic info and handsfree headset.
So both would be paired at the beginning of the journey and would like phone to handle switching between the two , without manual intervention.
Does anyone know of a phone model that will do this? E60 seems the only one I've found and mobile provider's responses so far aren't reliable.
hope someone can help.
dave

@mac_freak:Look what I have just found in the FAQ section of the Nokia N80 support pages:
Q: On my device, can there be several active Bluetooth connections at a time?
A: Yes. For example, if you are connected to a headset, you can also transfer files to another compatible device at the same time.
Note: Some active connection might limit establishing another connection. E.g. if your phone has an active connection to headset you can not connect your phone simultaneously to car kit.
So it appears to be a problem with car kits only, this is why I have no trouble with headset and GPS receiver. I hope this sheds some light on this matter.

    Can I share my internet from my Imac with my Ipad and simultaneously connect to a airport express that I use to remotely to connect speakers?
    The big problem that I'm having is that when internet sharing via the airport I can not simultaneously connect with my airport express.  It would be great to be able to share internet from my Imac so I can be using my Ipad and at the sametime have my wife use the airport express to stream music in a different room. It would be awesome to be able to have the ability to do both. Does anybody know how?

  • I want to use Bluetooth to connect iPad to my existing Hi-Fi can I use Apple TV?

    I would like to connect my existing Hi-fi to my music on my iPad and iPhone. I know it is probably an overkill but would Apple TV do the job?

    No. Apple TV only uses bluetooth to connect to keyboards. Speakers would have to be airplay complaint.

  • Oracle 10g Express Edition - number of simultaneous connections

    Goodmorning,
    I'm goingo to test Oracle 10g Express Edition but I ned to know the max numbers of simultaneous connections it supports.
    Many thanks to all.

    Hi,
    >>Can you tel me how to increase this number in oracle 10g express???
    Just modifying the processes parameter is sufficient. The sessions parameter will be adjusted automatically.
    SQL> alter system set processes=200 scope=spfile;
    SQL> shutdown immediate
    SQL> startupFor more information, take a look at this [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1672879&#1672879]thread

  • Simultaneous connections to the same server from IE and NN

    Hi,
    We are using iws4.1.
    IE5+ can make only atmost 2 simultaneous connections to our server and
    NN makes 4 connections.
    We found certain pages hosted by iws4.1 like www.netscape.com can make
    more than 2 simultaneous connection from same browser.
    The above tests are done from a dialup connection
    Is there a way to increase the no. of simultaneous connections from both
    IE and NN with the knowledge on the end user.
    Thanks in advance

    Could you please post the code, if you do not mind. Also if you could post the connection pool definition of both the pools that would help too.
    If the business method is coded in the following way
    m1() {
    conn1 = // get connection
    conn2 = // get another connection
    // do some thing with conn1
    // do some thing else with conn2
    conn1.close();
    conn2.close();
    Could you try modifying the code in the following way and see if that helps
    m1() {
    conn1 = // get connection
    // do some thing with conn1
    conn1.close();
    Basically start using conn2 after conn1 is used
    conn2 = // get another connection
    // do some thing else with conn2
    conn2.close();

  • Max number of simultaneous connections?

    Hi everyone!
    how is possible to determine in advance the max number of simultaneous connection for my FMS?
    thanks!

    Hi,
    Like Jay had mentioned the limitation on the number of connection to server depends on the capability of your server.
    You can get the maximum number of connections made to the server, number of active clients... etc details through Administration APIs.
    'getServerStats' gives you the "total_connects", which is the maximum number of connections made to the server. "connected" property will return the number of active clients to your server at one point. It also has many more statistics for your reference. This api returns the overall information of the server. If you want to get the details for specific vhost, you can use getVHostStats or getActiveVHostStats. To get more details on Administration API, refer your pdf documentation on "Administration API", that gets installed in your system under "$Root\Flash Media Server\documentation\flashmediaserver_3.5_administrationAPI.pdf".

  • Using bluetooth to connect iPad to cable-connected macbook...

    Does anyone know if it's possible to use bluetooth to connect an ipad wirelessly to the internet from the cable broadband connection on a macbook pro? its for my son who can't seem to use a wifi router in his student res...cheers, dean

    There's a couple of ways to do it.  Go to System Preferences>Sharing>Internet Sharing.  Check the box.  If the Mac is attached via WiFi, then the dropdown Menu has to say WiFi.  If it's Ethernet, then ethernet.  I know, obvious, but someone is going to ask.
    Next check Bluetooth PAN.  Now this wireless has a very short distance and can be interfered with by walls, other devices, etc. On the iPad go to Settings>General>Bluetooth and connect to the Mac.
    The better way is for the Mac to be connected to ethernet, and share the WiFi, but you have to do what you have to do.
    I hope this helps.  The Bluetooth connection may require you to post a question on the iPad forum.

  • Mac mini bluetooth audio connection stops when paused

    Hello!
    I have a Mac mini late 2012, i5 Version, 2.5Ghz as my home Desktop. The OS is 10.9.5 Mavericks.
    It's connected to a Logilink Bluetooth to 30 pin dock connector adapter, standing on an Apple Dock, connected to my Home Stereo. My Problem is, that everytime i pause the audio on my mini, the bluetooth connection just stops, and if i press play again, it plays through my internal speaker again.
    I temporarily fixed this by playing a 10hour version of a song with 0 volume on itunes, but this shouldn't be a long-time solution.
    I tried it with another bluetooth adapter, another dock, another home stereo. The issue probably is Mavericks, with it's awesome bluetooth settings, connect or don't connect.
    Is there any program out there which sets the connection to permanent? Or is there an other solution?
    Thank you very much in advance!
    (Sorry for poor english. If you don't understand something, i could explain it in german!)

    Ah, no joy, as suspected...I'm using Boot Camp version 4 and all i got was a flash drive full of boot camp version 3.1 - 3.3?  A few firmware upgrades that says it isn't compatible...
    IS THERE ANYONE AT APPLE THAT CAN HELP!!!
    Jesus! I bought this a week ago and I can't even get audio!  If this is the kind of service coming from Apple then I don't know...

    Thunderbird supports disconnected or offline operation. It can disconnect from the server and then reconnect later
    and synchronize its state, so that you never know it was disconnected.
    You can do that too, but it's a lot of work.
    For webmail, the simplest approach is usually to have only one folder open at a time for each user.
    If your IMAP server is limiting you to 10 connections total, across all users, get a new IMAP server.

  • Maximum simultaneous connections for WRT350N

    Hi,
    What is the maximum number of simultaneous connections that the WRT350N router can handle whilst allowing 1 user to surf the internet?
    I need to know this so I can set the maximum number of connections in uTorrent. My upload speed is 1.1 mbps, which is roughly 140 kBps.
    The PC has a direct connection to the router, the wireless has been turned off.

    There is no such defined number of user for TCP/IP connection.However,you can try to tweak the settings on the application and check if that helps.read this link and this link.

  • Basic IM app number of simultaneous connections

    Hi all,
    i wanted to know how to calculate or estimate the number of
    simultaneous connections that one Flash Media Server installation
    (one licence, one server) can handle, in the scope of a basic
    Instant Messaging application (online presence and text chat). Did
    some of you have direct experience about it?
    I found informations only about video streaming & server
    stress, but nothing about connections number alone.
    Thanks

    Well the actual number will depend on your hardware specs and
    probably the operating system that FMS is running on. That said,
    and a connection test alone, I was able to achieve over 4000
    NetConnections to one FMS server on RHEL5, and then the client (not
    the server) ran out of stack space because of the amount of sockets
    that were concurrently opened. Note: take this number with a grain
    of salt, as no activity was performed on the NetConnection. Also to
    note, that streaming A/V is usually more intense than simple text
    so those numbers would probably be safe to use.

  • Just upgraded my 2014 iMac to yosemite. Now my Bose sound link won't work. The bluetooth is connected and it beeps as normal, just no sound comes from the speaker. This is very frustrating (along with the now flat rather than 3D icons on the desktop)

    I have just upgraded my 2014 iMac to YOSEMITE. Now my Bose Soundlink bluetooth speaker connects, beeps as normal, but produces no sound from the Bose speaker whatsoever. HELP PLEASE

    I have now recently downloaded 10.0.2 which is confusing in itself, as, as far as I can ascertain that is actually version 11, but I'm not even sure about that.
    Version 10.0.2 is the newest version and the successor to GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.5).
    The '11 is referring to the iLife '11 suit of multimedia application - the older GarageBand was a part of this bundle.
    Have a look at Edgar's graphical enhanced manuals, the explain very detailed how things work and why. You can buy them as iBooks from the iBook store or directly from the page:

  • Win8 - Bluetooth Audio Connection

    Hi everyone,
    its day five with Win8 and the next Problem occurs.
    In Win7 i installed Bluetooth and connected my Windowsphone7 without ANY Problems, using my X230 for making calls with the setting headset and speakerphone:
    Link to picture
    Now in Windows8 the option headset and speakerphone does not appear ANY MORE.
    THIS IS UNBELIEVABE. Is this a Problem of the Thinkpad's Bluetooth 4.0 Stack?
    It may be a Problem of Win8 but I'm not sure.
    Up to now, i can STREAM Audio from my Phone to the Computer (holy crap who needs this) but using it for calls... no way, because the phone wont be recognized as in Win7. So now bluetooth has become useless in my Thinkpad.
    I really dont know if there will be any solution, but I'm posting for x230 Users to be careful when upgrading to Win8.
    There will be much more problems you expect...
    best regards

    When you say always, do you mean that it works sometimes?
    I suggest that you make sure that you're using the latest firmware in both phone and Bluetooth device.
    Or try to reinstall the firmware.

  • Does the socket implementation suport only 2 simultaneous connections?

    Hi all,
    I implemented this server the traditional way:
    public void run() {
       while(state.isRunning()) {
          try {
             System.out.println("listening...");
             sourceSock = ssock.accept();
             System.out.println("new incoming connection");
             sourceSock.setSoTimeout(config.getHttpTimeout());
             new Thread(new ProxyHttpConnectionWorker(sourceSock, config)).start();
          } catch (IOException _ex) {
             config.out.trace(_ex.getMessage());
    }It seems ok to me. I implemented it several times in a lot of situations.
    However, this time I noted that after two simultaneous socket connections are opened (via accept()), all other connections I try to make from a client are blocking until one of the first two sockets close().
    I mean, it seems to be blocking the incoming connections in the accept() method, because the string "listening..." was printed, but the string "new incoming connection" is only printed when one of the two initial sockets close()
    Why is this happening? Is this correct?
    I implemented it with J2SE 1.3.1 in a windows NT 4 workstation machine.
    Is this an Operating System problem? A TCP/IP problem? Is the problem in the java socket implementation? Is there any flaw in my code?
    Thank you all in advance,
    Filipe Fedalto

    Hi, Chuck
    It could also be the case.
    Actually, I am implementing a proxy server. All the major work is done and were it not this accept() problem it would be functioning very well.
    The server is running in my machine and I am testing it by issuing 4 simultaneous HTTP requests from Internet Explorer 5.5 from my own machine itself. So, you see, this could be the problem, according to what you've just said.
    I try to open the 4 browser connections simultaneously, but the servers' accept() method only seems to receive 2 of them at a time.
    What do you think about it?
    Just in case, I will try and test it using Netscape. Let's see if the number of simultaneous connections change...
    Notwithstanding, why do the browsers limit the number of concurrent connections? I might think that this is because it is better to open a single page or two faster than trying to open 5 or 6 pages slowly... is this the point?
    Thank you very much!

  • Setting Up Tethered Bluetooth Cellular Connection?

    Can anyone point me to a resource for setting up a tethered bluetooth net connection using my cell phone? I have a Sony W580i which has bluetooth, AT&T's data service, and a brand new MacBook Pro (15"). I have not been able to find anything conclusive about setting up a cellular connection. It doesn't seem like a very intuitive process. Is it even possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

    It is possible, I tether my Blackberry 8800 to my MBP. I honestly can't remember how I did it though, for Tiger there was loads of info on the net, and you had to use a bluetooth script specifically for the phone. I think that changed with Leopard. here's what I have in my Bluetooth settings for the Blackberry: (case sensitive)
    Telephone number: wap.cingular
    Account name: [email protected]
    Password: CINGULAR1
    under advanced:
    Modem tab:
    Vendor: other
    Model: Blackberry 8800
    Again I think I may have installed a script, but I can't be sure. Try these settings and play around with it, be sure you have dialup networking enabled in the Bluetooth preferences for your phone.
