Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) support for Bootcamp

Does the latest bootcamp support Bluetooth 4.0 for Macbook Air(mid) 2011 or 2012?
Appreciate your answer!
Thank you.

PS: if you want to use some BT profiles like A2DP in Bootcamp, I have updated a guideline here:

  • Which Stereo Bluetooth headset with remote supports for Iphone3Gs??

please anybody can tell me which is the best Stereo Bluetooth headset with remote support for Iphone3Gs??
    thanks in advance

    Hello thomulusmax,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums
As long as your device is running software version 4.2.2 or higher it supports A2DP. (You can verify this under Options >> About)
Keep in mind that not all Bluetooth headsets are A2DP enabled. As long as your headset supports A2DP and it pairs and connects with your Pearl you should be able to listen to any supported audio format.
    Cheers!

  • Drivers for bootcamp macbook

Where can I find files to download all the dirvers etc to use with bootcamp on my MacBook.... which was loaded with an oerating system by Apple at one of the stores, so I do not have the disk.... and of course, Apple will not download any support for Bootcamp.
    John D

Run Boot Camp Assistant and select only the option to download the Windows Support software. Follow the instructions for downloading and installing the support software.
Or, you can get the support software here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/downloads/

  • Stereo Bluetooth - no support for controls and other issues

I have tried 2 stereo headsets now and both have the same issue. No controls other than Vol +/- are supported. Pause/Play doesn't work and >| and |< don't work. It's pretty clear that the 3.0 software doesn't support these functions.
One Headset is the new Sony BT100CX. The other is Insignia.
Are others getting the same results?
I also get some bizarre results with the Stereo Headset, like no audio in one direction on a phone call. Then when I switched to iPhone from Bluetooth and hung up, the call actually stayed open! Another time I connected to the Sony BT and got constant static.
I spent a long time talking to a nice but not very knowledgeable gentleman at Apple Support who consulted an "specialist." The specialist did not seem to know whether these controls are supported or not. It is bizarre that Apple is paying so little attention to bluetooth. Having waited years for decent bluetooth support, you would would think they would want to get it right when they finally put it in, but they leave out VERY valuable features. And they don't even seem to know that they left out these features. A simple pause in the iPhone in Ipod mode is a PITA. With the Bluetooth stereo profile it should be easy.

Thanks. That page says the 3G supports the AVRCP profile, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetoothprofile#Audio.2FVideo_Remote_Control_Profile.28AVRCP.29. Version 1.0 of the profile includes pause/play etc. It is clear that although they claim support, it does not work.
Are others not having this issue?

  • Where i can get the windows support software for bootcamp?

lost my mac os x installation disk and need the windows support software for bootcamp. have a 17" mac book pro bought 08/2010... where i can get it?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You'll have to purchase another copy of the OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard' disc, because that disc is the only source of Boot Camp 3.0 drivers.
The Boot Camp 3.1 and Boot Camp 3.2 drivers and some recent machine-specific updates are available online from Apple here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#Boot%20Camp

  • Windows support software for bootcamp 5.1.2

Hey guys, I just finished installing windows 8.1 for my mac (MacBook Pro mid 2012). I realised that keyboards function aren't working (sound, light, etc.) and no wifi. It's because I do not have the driver install. The problem is, I cannot find windows support software for bootcamp 5.1.2 at all. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Boot Camp Assistant gives you an option to download support software during initial setup. If you have skipped this step, you can try with this download: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1720?locale=en_GB
If that won't work for you, you might have to remove Boot Camp partition and setup all over again.

  • HT204368 I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that is suddenly not able to connect to my New iPad. It worked fine for a few eeks and now I get the previously unseen "This device not supported by iPad" message. It was supported for three weeks. Thanks

Most of the question is in the discussion header. I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that worked fine for three weeks with my third generation iPad. I started having trouble connecting and recieved the "not supported by iPad" message. It connects just fine until I open any app that requires sound and at thet point I recieve the message and the device disconnects. The Tango still pairs flawlessly with my laptop which is not an Apple product. How could a product suddenly become unsupported?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.

  • Bluetooth not supported for emulated applications?

This is a quote I received from a tech support group recently, and I'm trying to find out if this is true or not:
"Bluetooth on Intel based Macintosh system is not supported by Mac OS X for emulated applications"
So if we want to make use of Bluetooth, are we out of luck if the application is not a universal binary?
This is part of a running discussion I'm having with the Lego company regarding the Bluetooth capabilities of their new Mindstorms NXT robot kit. I'm aware of the issues of my specific case and I'm pursuing this with them based on an install of their software on an XP machine, but I'm wondering about the accuracy of their general statement above.
    Thoughts?

Why exactly are you trying to pair your iPhone with your Macbook Bluetooth, if it is for transferring any Data via bluetooth then that won't work as iPhone's bluetooth can only be used for Tethering (Internet) on your Macbook Pro

  • Apt-x Support for Bluetooth A2DP?

    Hi,
are there any plans to support the apt-X codec for the Bluetooth A2DP Profile? Maybe that could solve some of the bad A2DP audio qualitiy issues, that are still expierienced by some users (including me) on all the available phones (tested Pre- with 1.4.5, Pre+ with 1.4.5 and 2.1, Pixi Plus with 1.4.5, Pre2 with 2.0 and 2.1, all gave the same issues with different headsets and receivers!).
apt-X seems to be coming quite fast, not only because apple has built in support for it in it's latest products, but also because it offers CD level quality on low encoding cost, which is MUCH more than the poor SBC codec can deliver.
I hope HP with it's Beat audio line of products will consider adding such enhanced A2DP codecs to the mobile devices... wireless headsets are so much more convinient than anything wired can be. But at the momen A2DP sound quality is unbearable with my Palm handsets and I still have no clue where that issue arises from (my last guess is, that it's connected to me being an european costumer and we are few compared to the majority of the us costumers. As far as I understood there are differences in the radio part of the handsets between EU and US devices, so maybe those differences break A2DP Bluetooth quality).
Post relates to: Pre Plus p100ueu (Vodafone)

Thanks for all of the replies. I also saw in the Z white paper that the apt-X codec is not listed, so the question becomes "can apt-X be pushed via a software update?"
For those interested in streaming to your home stereo or powered speaker, here's what I ended up doing.
Purchased a Rocketfish Bluetooth Music Receiver from Best Buy (in the US). It is a pretty slick lttle device, about the same size as the power plug adaptor and it supports A2DP and apt-X. There are two audio outputs: analog via a headphone jack and optical. And it ships with a 6' 3.5mm stereo audio cable and a  RCA adaptor.
Setup was easy. Connect the audio to the stereo's AUX inputs, set the stereo's source to AUX, plug in the BT receiver power, turn on the tablet Bluetooth on the tablet and play music.
At first the sound was pretty compressed from MP3's, Pandora and the Google Play service. The fix was to go into the Google Play app > settings > equalizer. Click on "surround sound" and change the setting from "headphone" to "studio".Then play with the equalizer settings to tweak. Results in much improved audio.
Happy camper now... music streaming through the house and no wires!

  • Support for atp-x in Bluetooth ipad mini

Hello all... I am wondering if the new ipad mini has full support for csr atp-x codec in the OS. Or more spesific, Can i use the ipad mini
with a atp-x audio device without using an external dongle?
I am not able to find anything on apple website regarding this, but I would imagine that there are several here that know this
    Thanks

    jenjoh wrote:
Can you please let me know how you know that...? I read in August's issue of What Hi-Fi magazine  that apt-X "is available in all Apples running Mac OS X 10.6.5 or later". And ipad mine run : Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later.
That is why this is all confusing, I would love to know some more details
No iPad runs any version of Mac OS X. Mac OS X is for Mac desktop and MacBook computers only. Your iPad Mini is running iOS 6.0.1.

  • Why no SyncML-support for Harmattan??

I've used SyncML on my N95 with memotoo.com for years. Worked very well. I took it for granted that SyncML would be supported on the N9. But alas, it isn't. I find that really incomprehensible. Worse yet, CalDAV syncing with memotoo doesn't work - I don't know who's to blame for this, but on the desktop it works flawelessly so I do have a suspicion. Even worse: there is no way to sync contacts using CardDAV.
MeeGo (the true MeeGo) has SyncML-support out-of-the-box. And the N9/N950 does have SyncML-support for bluetooth.
Yes, contacts syncing is supported for Ovi. And Google. And Facebook. But I do NOT want to use those services, because of grave privacy risks and because they use yet again some proprietary protocols.
I wonder, what where they thinking at Nokia for NOT supporting some well-known open standards??
(While I'm ranting: why is there ^%@$ Facebook and GTalk-support over XMPP, but no self-defined XMPP account?? Yes, you can add such accounts from the terminal, using mc-tool, but really that's just a kick in the teeth. And where's UPnP/DLNA-support?)

Hey Guys, Did you figure out any way to do PIM sync via SyncML on N9?
I am struggling to get things moving as I come from N8.
N9 just doesnt have any way to sync calendar, tasks with Ovi. Same with Notes.
    Best Regards,
    Suyog

  • How do I get support for Windows 7 on, and a W7 backup disk for, my new ThinkPad?

I know these have got to be stupid questions, since I am sure that they have to have been asked before (unless they are clearly explained somewhere that everyone else has found, and I am somehow completely missed it), but I did search the forums and was surprised NOT to find any info on getting Windows 7 technical support after it was factory installed in a month-old Thinkpad. I wonder if the apparent defects in my W7, or maybe a different problem in my browser, could be affecting my ability to search to forums?
I believe that my Windows 7 is defective, but calling Lenovo, they just talked about reinstalling Win7 from the partition, which makes no sense, if my W7 copy is defective, wouldn't the copy in the partition be defective too? My mom said she ordered a $20 W7 backup disk with the PC, but I never received it, and now Lenovo tech tells me those aren't actually available, and she must have confused it with the W7 upgrade disk, which didn't sound right, since I thought the upgrade disk was over $100, and I never received that one either anyway. If the W7 that was factory-installed is defective, I am assuming it's a copy of the same one in the partition, so that partition recovery is not feasible, is there any way to reorder a W7 re-install disk that will still register as Genuine Windows 7 on a Thinkpad? Now when I search the Lenovo site, I cannot find ANY W7 disks of any kind, neither a backup for factory-installed W7, nor for upgrade from a prior Windows version. Does anyone know how I could go about re-ordering the W7 backup disk when it appears to be missing from the online catalog? Unless this too is a defect in my browser search: can someone give me the link to page where I could select and re-purchase a W7 backup disk?
It has been a few years since I had a new PC, but I have never even heard of one before that did not come with instruction manuals and OS and support disks, and did not provide any tech support for its own factory-installed software or Windows, at least during the first few months of ownership. Where do new Thinkpad owners turn for individual W7 software support, since Microsoft swears it is Lenovo's responsibility to support W7 under its OEM license, yet Lenovo swears they only support hardware? It almost seems that new users are expected to know everything already, or be initiated enough with the product to know exactly what your problem is and what's causing it, in order to find an online fix. Who do you call if W7 or Lenovo software (but not an ISP issue) appear to be doing something to prevent online access, but there are no discernible hardware issues? Where do you call for individualized W7, as well as Lenovo software, support, especially after no one online has ever heard of your specific issues and has no workable ideas for fixing them, or when your problem prevents you from getting online at all?
    Thanks so much

Boot Camp Assistant is already on your computer. You just need to buy Windows. Read the instructions and help files very carefully. Back up your data before taking on this task.

  • MST Support for MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 - DisplayPort 1.2 - Will it ever happen? (with sources)

So back in October, I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro Retina (MBPr), fully loaded with top of the line specs.  I was soooo excited to have Thunderbolt 2 tech which Intel AND Apple describes as having DisplayPort 1.2a compatibility - which up to this point is unfortunately NOT the case.  The point of the information/questions and requests in this article is to engage a conversation about the issues of not having MST support after Apple falsely mislead their consumers to think otherwise - especially when it is clear the MBPr is capable.  Please read on...
Apple advertises that the Thunderbolt 2 ports on BOTH the MBPr and the new Mac Pro (NMP) will have 4K Display support with the famed 20gb/sec Ports (DisplayPort 1.2 only requires a little above 17gb/sec).  Now that the 10.9.1 update has been released, we have failed to see MST or Multi-Stream Transport enabled on the MBPr Late 2013.  Now, as for the New Mac Pro- it DOES have MST enabled in 10.9.1 with the AMD GPUs.  For all of you out there that's questioning what this means, short answer is basically the Mac Pro will be able to power a 4K Monitor at 60Hz through the Thunderbolt 2 Port but the New MBPr is stuck with only HDMI 1.4 support which tops out at 4K 30Hz. 30Hz is unacceptable for anything but movies or a photo slideshow.  At 30Hz the cursor will jump across the screen, eliminating any of the benefits of 4K.
    BUT it gets worse...
Apple can be seen advertising that the new MBPr 15" model can power a 4K monitor THROUGH the Thunderbolt 2 Port here: http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt - This article quotes the following:
"Now with Thunderbolt 2 built into the new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina display, you can connect the latest 4K desktop displays and get double the bandwidth for your peripherals. And the two generations of Thunderbolt technology are compatible with each other."
Does this not let the consumer assume that the newest MBPr will be able to drive a 4K display through the Thunderbolt 2 Port?  I would say yes it does, but at the time I wrote this, the TB2 Ports can't power a 4K display because, as previously stated, MST is disabled in Mavericks for the 15" MBPr Late 2013.
NOW, later on Apple posted the following article on 4K support here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
4K support on the MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013)
MacBook Pro supports 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs at the following resolutions and refresh rates with the built-in HDMI port:
    3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz refresh rate
4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz refresh rate (mirroring is not supported at this resolution)
In the article above the New Mac Pro is listed as having support for a 4K Display with the Thunderbolt 2 Port (or MST DisplayPort 1.2a Technology) at 60Hz with no problem.  This leads myself and many others to believe that MST will NEVER be enabled on the newest MacBook Pro Retina with Nvidia GPUs. Yes, 4K IS supported but ONLY through the HDMI 1.4 port, which has the limitation of only 30hz.  This two-faced advertising is extremely upsetting to a LOT of people, including myself.
Interestingly enough, THIS IS NOT a hardware issue.  If one ventures into Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp and connects a 4K Display via the Thunderbolt 2 (or through DP1.2) Port, the Display registers at 60Hz, thus proving that the Thundberbolt 2 Hub Controller is completely capable of MST DisplayPort functionality.  Clearly this a driver issue with Apple, Nvidia or Intel or any combination.  What Apple has done here is forcing any professional that desires stable and clear 4K technology through their MacBook Pro Retina to do so only using Windows 8.1 on their own machines!  Definitely an oxymoron if you ask me...
Later on when the Mac Pro was ready for ordering, Apple placed the Sharp PN-K321 as a compatible option for a 4K Display.  On the Store page featuring the (over three thousand dollar) Sharp 4K display, located here http://store.apple.com/us/product/HD971LL/A/sharp-32-pn-k321-4k-ultra-hd-led-mon itor?fnode=53 Apple states the following:
"Note that 4K DisplayPort operation is only compatible with the new Mac Pro (Late 2013)."
All of that being said, and I'm terribly sorry for my wordy ranting...
This brings me to a final two requests to ANYONE reading this post:
    a) Has anyone working with the new 10.9.2 Beta Update seen evidence that DisplayPort 1.2 capabilities will be enabled for the new MacBook Pro Retina (Nvidia 750M) with the promised "Graphics Driver Updates" within the next Mavericks update?
    and
    b) To others that purchased or were/are thinking of purchasing a new MacBook Pro Retina with TB2 Ports: If you are just as upset as me about this crushing blow to consumers that just purchased a $3,000 laptop that were promised something that wasn't delivered - I urge you please, write to Apple and let them know they are making a mistake.  You can do this though the support page or through http://www.apple.com/feedback
Thank you for your precious time, and if anyone has anything to contribute to this issue, please jump in....

    GOOD NEWS!
The Mavericks 10.9.3 update adds official support for Thunderbolt 2, 4K!
I'm not sure if you will be able to daisy chain anything to the 4K display.  I've read that the design of Thunderbolt 2 includes support for DisplayPort 1.2 multi-stream (MST), which allows this type of daisy chaining with 4K, but we don't know if Apple has this supported on it's machines.  Apparently it's been buggy in development because the graphics driver needs to work correctly with the Thunderbolt 2 host controller.  I'm sure they will work it out if they haven't already.
The above is all via found information on this topic, but you can follow some more discussion here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1713876
One more note on Thunderbolt worth sharing: always keep your fastest peripherals closer to the computer in the chain. If you have a TB1 device directly connected to the computer, anything further down the chain will be limited to TB1 speed/capability regardless of it's native speed.  Always connect TB2 devices first, and save anything TB1 for the end of the chain.

  • No A2DP support for Nokia N80!

I just wonder why Nokia can't add support for A2DP in the new firmware for Nokia N80ie cellphone. =(
I just uppdatet my phone in hope of getting somewhere, but it was pointless.
It would be pretty nice if i could use my N80 as a real media centre with my Jabra BT 620s bluetooth headset but no way.
I am just intrested why not, i have read som discussions in this forum and other N phones did get their uppdates with A2DP support . Or am i wrong. Am i doing somethig wrong and cant get this to work?

A2DP and AVRCP does not require additional hardware for bluetooth 1.2 and above. It is based purely on software simulation.
Nokia can support A2DP in nokia n80. but battery could be an issue. Initial prototype of N80 had bluetooth 2 but then it was downgraded to 1.2 !!!

  • Cannot Partition 3TB Internal Drive for Bootcamp

I have read a number of threads and tried a number of things from various websites to get my iMac to use Bootcamp, but no luck. It was so easy with my MacBook Pro. :^/
The basic problem is that when I start with a single, internal 3TB drive with a brand, new clean install of Yosemite, I get the message:
The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.
To get past this I go into Disk Utility and resize the partition from 3TB to 2TB. This allows me to get past this screen and have Boot Camp partition the drive. Note that it shows the drive as 2TB and I divide it equally with 1TB for Mac and 1TB for Windows.
In the Windows installer the first thing you notice is that there are five partitions, and that the Windows partition is 1.8 TB, it having grabbed the empty space for itself. It complains that it cannot use the partition as it uses the GPT Partition Style, so I click the Format option to have it format as NTFS. But it still complains that it cannot use the partition because of its style.
Going back into the Mac OS and using Disk Utility, I try and reformat the partition to ExFAT and it starts to, but fails indicating that it is not supported for Core Storage.
I have been through this cycle several times now. I thought the issue previously was because of an older version of OS X. I then upgraded and found the same issue. So in order to change the partition style I finally wiped the drive using Disk Utility from a bootable USB and reinstalled Yosemite cleanly.
If I missed a step or option somewhere I am willing to wipe the drive again. I just need to know what to change. Here is the current state of my drive:

This is an example if the partitions are
    GPT1 = MBR1 = EFI
    GPT2 = MBR2 = OSX
    GPT3 = MBR3 = Recovery HD
    GPT4 = MBR4 = BOOTCAMP.
You will need to pick the correct order based on how you format the 3TB disk. Any GPT entry beyond the 2TB address will not be a part of the MBR.
Rebuild MBR to match the new GPT information thus resetting the Hybrid MBR. Use defaults for other questions (like partition codes). The only values that need modifications are the Boot flags and step 6. Accept all other defaults that Gdisk offers.
    Sudo gdisk /dev/disk0
    P  (Print list of parts)
    R   (Recover)
    H (chooses Hybrid)
Partitions numbers to be hybridized: 2 3 4
    Y (Good for GRUB question)
    N (part 2 boot flag)
    N (part 3 boot flag)
