Bluetooth A2DP audio playback hangs every 5 seconds (Portege R500 VistaSP1)

Hi,
I've completely reinstalled on my new Portege R500 Vista SP1and the newest Bluetooth 6.10.10. When playing with Mediaplayer some music on a A2DP Bluetooth audio output device the music is always hanging every 5 seconds. With my mobile phone this A2DP audio device is working perfectly without problems.
I'm thinking already throwing away Vista and installing XP ...

Disabling the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack was the solution. The 2 Stacks disturbed each other. Now its working fine.
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and scroll down to the service called Bluetooth Support. Right-click the service, choose Properties and change the startup type from Automatic to Manual. Click OK.

Ics broke bluetooth to auto for calls and audio playback

After upgrading to ICS (4.0.4) on my RAZR MAXX, I can no longer maintain a bluetooth session with my car and the audio playback is not working at all. The connection begins and drops after less than 1 minute. This cycle repeats. Calls and audio worked with the same car configuration in Android 2.3.4. After a long search on the net I learn that this is a common problem. Has anyone heard about a patch or work around? I tried disabling wifi - no joy.

I have the same problem with my DROID RAZR. I use a Plantronics Pro+ headset and regularly have hour long conference calls. I had no connection problems prior to ICS. When I upgraded to ICS, the Bluetooth connection started dropping. It will drop then reconnect, then drop, then reconnect, every couple minutes. I end up holding my phone to one ear with the Bluetooth on the other, the call rotates between them. VERY ANNOYING. UNACCEPTABLE. I tried a second Bluetooth headset (also Plantronics Pro+). it worked for about 2 days, then had the same problem.
From reading various postings, I believe this is a problem with ICS and the Bluetooth connection. Nothing to do with what type of headset, automobile, etc. It may be only those of us that had Android 2.3.4 and upgraded to ICS.

X201 hangs and makes noises during audio playback

Hello, I've a 3249CTO X201 with 8g of ram and an updated Hdd (seagate momentus xt 500gb with 4gb ssd).
I had issues with the Hdd that where partially resolved with a seagate firmware update (the hdd kept going from standby to active mode without apparent reason and it was assumed to be a too agressive power saving mode...)
Anyway, my issue here is the annoying chirping sound coming out the speakers during any audio playback (online audio streams, films, mp3, youtube... you name it!) anytime the Hdd is accessed.
It even seems like everything just hangs for anywhere between 0 and 2 seconds at the exact same time.
It only happens when on battery and using w7 pro 64bit. If I use ubuntu from my 8g sdhc card, it never occurs (even if I use chrome on both and watching the exact same youtube video). (NOTE that I did access the hdd from ubuntu to prove my point...)
I think it is related to the power gestion of the system and I've tried a countless serie of different power management settings. It affect the frequency of the episodes (would occur more or less often) but it still happens.
When plugged in, it never occurs....
If it doesn't occur under ubuntu (I mean never!), it should not be hardware related, however the w7 way of managing power is different so I tend to think there IS a hardware issue (weakness) wich might be highligted by the OS.
Anybody has a good lead on this?

Kindly put your 7 digit TYPE-Model(3249CTO) number of the system in the Quick path
1. Please download and update the Power Management driver and Power Manager(Please uninstall the previously installed driver and software first).
2. Please download and update the BIOS of your system.
To check the previous BIOS version and date, please click on START> type msinfo32> press Enter. It will open System Information Window. You can check the BIOS version and date from there. Kindly match the driver version and date and if the driver and download link have updated driver then please update the BIOS of your system.
Please perform and check how it goes, It might resolve the issue.

Logic hanging 10 seconds every time I save

Logic is hanging 10 seconds every time I save. There is a 5 second pause from when I hit cmd S to when the beach ball appears, after which point it is another 5 seconds before the save is complete. It's strange because I recently added a Glyph 1TB HD, which I thought would make my project blazing fast. I am using the FW400 through port on my Presonus Firestudio Tube. Could that be the problem? I tried the FW800 port on the Mac and that cause my audio interface to crash when Logic started up. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your reply. I switched the external drive connection to the FW400 port on the back of the Mac, instead of daisy chaining it through my audio interface. It seems to be working OK for now. We'll see. I also had my buffer at 32. Oops. That, of course, should make a huge difference, as I am just editing at this point. Over the past week I've had many times when I think I've figured it out, only to have the problem come back again. I'll keep your suggestion in mind, as I, too, have not had issues like this with my internal drives.

Apple TV music playback skips a second every once and a while

Audio playback on my Apple TV has been having very quick delays, maybe half a second, then continues playing. It's pretty random but getting very annoying. Anyone had a similar issue?

Yes, has happened randomly for me for over a year on at least 2 AppleTVs.
Usually happens when watching video/music videos, the audio briefly drops out but video is unaffected. Also can happen with music occasionally. Do you see it with video?
I'm not convinced it's a network issue though can't entirely discount that,as my router occasionally hangs, but I think it's often a case of AppleTV struggling to do all playback/background tasks from time to time, maxing out cpu usage, and audio being affected somehow.
Some users have found it doesn't seem to happen if iTunes is closed, raising the possibility of some non-playback/streaming related communication process affecting the AppleTV. Some have found unchecking 'Look for AppleTV's' in iTunes has helped.
Lastly, it may be a sign of early hardware failure, most likely logic board or hard drive. One of mine that regularly did this eventually gave up the ghost.

Audio Drop out @ every 2 seconds

Having issue with the Audio dropping out every @ 2 seconds, indepentant of source (local, sync'd computer and web trailers). Have done factory reset, still doing the same thing. AppleTV is connected to the TV through HDMI connection.

Digital (optical) audio jerks on and off every second or so

Sudenly got this annoying problem, when sound on optical audio cuts off and on again repeatedly every second or so. As if there was a wire with bad connection. The optical cable is fine thou, i checked with my other macbook.
So that must be a problem with my main macbook. I restarted it in hope that its just a software glirch, but the problem remains.
Sound from MBs speakers ir fine.
What to do?

Now there is no sound at all. When i connect optical toslink there is no sound. When i connect usual 3.5mm jack to analog system, it sounds ok.
I can see the red light, but there is no sound. What could it be? Software or hardware problem?

Song playback rate is improper over Bluetooth a2dp

I recently purchased a Bluetooth a2dp dongle to stream music wirelessly from my MacBook and iPhone. My bed is about 2.5 meters from the dongle. The playback is fine with the MacBook but with my iPhone 3G it tends to be inconsistent. I can sense a rush in the playback and then sudden chops. Simply speaking it's not smooth. It's a 3G with ios4.1 and so background apps is not an issue. There is a direct line of sight with the dongle. The MacBook plays it fine over the same distance.
This problem is present even when my iPhone is placed next to the dongle (which actually kills the very meaning of having the dongle).
Any help?

the problem is only with the iPhone 3g and not with my MacBook pro.

Probleme Playback CS4 : slowdown / stock every seconds

So here is the problem: the playback in Premiere Pro CS4 stock every seconds. It's more like one image repeat itself every 1 or 2 seconds or something.
I first install, everything works. I did a upgrade for my graphic cards: asus HD 5750 Formula 1GB. After that, no enjoying Premiere Pro for me anymore.
I change the graphic card for a Asus ENGTX470. I know than Adobe prefer NVidia than ATI.
I reinstall everything (windows, codec, Adobe Master Pack CS4).
And it works fine again but still this problem of playback.
Here is the PC:
- I7 930 @ 3,19Ghz
- 6 GB GSkill DDR3
- MB asus rampage 2 extreme
- GC Asus ENGTX470
- HDD SATA 320 for windows
- HDD SATA 5oo for Adobe alone
- HDD SATA 320 for Data

- Screen 2: LG HD 22" by HDMI
The OS is windows 7 Ultimate 64bits with upgrade.
Quick Time Pro 7. VLC, etc... all the last upgrade one.
I read than ATI may cause problem with Adobe. Maybe some "rest" of this D#*@?! ATI driver is the problem here.
Should I reinstall windows again by format the disk... ?
How come everything works, including rendering 3D HD by 3DS Max 2011 and a simple playback the PC can not do it ?!
I know than some post talk about that already but it didn't fix my problem anyway.
Please some help, it's very annoying!!! It's years now I work with adobe, never have this problem. And now I work with a brand new super PC, and it doesn't work: I don't understand.

The files come from mustly After Effect or 3DS Max.
It's HD, 1280x720, 25 i/s. Quick Time export, Codec Animation.
I use to do that for the last couple of year, a lot more last year and never have problems.
I precise still, juste in case, than all the rest of CS4 works fine. I am even surprise how fast and precise is Photoshop with the HD screen and the wacom tablet. So Open GL do is job pretty good. Just the playback in Premiere repeat one image every one seconde around.
But it look like the probleme is deeper actually !!!
It's impossible for me to do a "Clean Install".
After boot on the windows 7 ultimate x64 DVD, it load the first files from windows (black screen with white loading).
And stock with the windows background. No pop up with install windows now or anything...
The W7 DVD work no problem if read after boot.
I try many way untill format one HDD and make it boot with just this one alone like "first install" : same result.
I think now than the probleme come from this mustly.
No clean install so the rest from the old install who put the mess stay also, something like that.
I'm trying to check online how to fix that and contact microsoft directly.
I would like the simple solution: go to the seller as customer care. But I live in 3rd World Country, and I would like don't go in another country to reinstall cleanly windows!!!

Are you coming out with a fix to the constant hang problem with version 6? I get a 20 second hang every 15 minutes.

Ever since version 6 was released I have been getting a very bad hang every 15 minutes or so regardless of what I am doing, so I cannot pinpoint the issue. I hope that your new update strategy doesn't create more issues like this that werent an issue with previous versions. I am a web designer and love how I have everything organized in Firefox, which I have favored for years but am getting frustrated and am starting to look at alternative browsers.

Playback hang

During timeline playback, about every 20-30 seconds, the picture and audio meters hang while audio playback continues. The timeline is completely rendered and (ProRes 1080p24 media) there are no backround processes running. Activity monitor indicates FCP uses 75-110% CPU during playback on my MBP Retina 2.7 GHz w/16 GB RAM.
Any clues to what might be happening?

Deleted my prefs and now it's working. I guess some things never change!

New MAC PRO: itunes audio playback-stuttering, glitching, skipping

I have a brand new mac pro 3.2ghz quad, with 8gb ram (bought a couple weeks ago). All seems fine with the exception of brief skips, glitches and stutters with audio playback in itunes. I tried updating to itunes 11 and this did not resolve the problem. My music files play fine on my girlfriends macbook pro (purchased over a year ago), and never had any problems on my old machine (imac 24inch aluminum). I went to apple with the problem and after multiple system recoveries they determined that the computer was faulty and sent me a replacement. I just received the replacement and tested out some downloaded music from the itunes store and the same problem happened. Am I just unlucky to get two computers with this issue? Is it the Mac Pros? Has anyone had this issue with mac based machines, specifically the mac pros? I saw another thread on the issue but seemed to be primarily windows users running itunes. The skipping happens as frequent as every 20-30 seconds to every few minutes, but it is definitely enough to notice

I seem to have discovered this problem this weekend. I listen to a lot of music from my apple devices and have done for years. What I have noticed this weekend is that both my Macbook 2008 and iMac late 2010 both suffer with a brief stutter every minute or so making the enjoyment of listening to music a little annoying. Both are running Mountain Lion 10.8.2. My iMac is running the 2.93 GHz intel i7 processor with 8GB ram. Playing music should be a doddle!
From my point of view both Macs are running independently to external speakers. The music I am running on those 2 devices has been ripped on both devices. e.g. Macbook has ripped and plays Apple Lossless format and my iMac has ripped and plays songs in 320kbps. My guess is its a bug with the new iTunes 11 or Mountain Lion although I have been using 11 since its release.
While I'm not able to supply a fix I think its safe to say its not your new Mac Pro. One other thing to note is that I have been running up until this weekend a 7 or 8 year old Mac Mini as a media device in my kitchen playing Apple Lossless format with no issues at all. This device however is running Snow Leopard with all updates applied. The Macbook is now playing the Lossless music with stutters that was ripped on the Mac Mini that was playing OK.
So is the problem Mountain Lion?

Windows 7 (64bit) itunes choppy stuttering audio playback

Hi All,
I'm new to these forums so apologise in advance if this topic has been covered already....
I recently upgraded my Dell to Windows 7 64 bit and also upgraded iTunes/ QuickTime to the 64 bit version which resulted in audio playback in iTunes stuttering every few seconds. I waited for the latest release thinking it must be a bug which apple are addressing. Just installed it (ver. 10.1.056) but the problems is still there. I’ve tweaked quick time, installed the newest possible audio drivers, for my soundcard nothing makes any difference. If i use windows media player to play my music its absolutely fine , no stuttering , no problems at all. So why can't apple get their act together?
Has anyone else experienced this problem or found a fix? if so please get in touch.

I have a similar problem. I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 64-Bit. I've started to rebuild my iTunes library and it was all going well. However, I noticed a lot of my files are starting to loop the first second or so of the intro for around 6 seconds before the song plays normally. At the time, I didn't think of this as a problem, but the exact same looping occurs on the iPod itself on the same files, at the same time, everytime.
After deleting the broken files and getting new versions of the same songs, I decided to test them in Windows Media Player first and there was no intro looping. Assuming all was well, I added these files to iTunes, tidied up the song info, added album art and then played the tracks to see if the looping was still gone. Some of the tracks were fine, but others had developed the intro looping. Playing these same files in Windows Media Player again, after running them throgh iTunes, also now has the looping which it previously did not.
iTunes seems to be destroying my files. Is there any way to fix this?

Skipping Audio Playback of Raw AVCHD Files in PE7

I get constantly skipping/dropping audio when playing back AVCHD clips in PE7. These are pretty long takes imported from a Canon HF10 camera. The video seems to playback OK with no jitter/judder or dropouts.I have tried reducing the clip to a 3 minute length but audio still skips/drops every 3-5 seconds for a second or so. I rendered/exported a short test clip to a .wmv file and a 780p file and the audio playback is just fine on the rendered clip. I'm using a Vista 32 Dell 730 desktop with 4 gigs ram and 2.6 quadcore processor and all editing on internal Sata drives. I had the Pinnacle studio 12 editing package first but moved to PE7 due to freezes and crashes. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks!

For HD editing in PrPro, Adobe also recommends a RAID 0 (or similar) media disc. Both HD Audio & Video need a fast file transfer rate. Many get by without the RAID, but it has helped many others. Just a thought.
Also, if you have fewer than 3 internal HDD's, and some of the ones that you have are doing multiple duty, like OS/Programs, and then Project/Media/Scratch Disks, the stream can definitely be too slow to get both smooth Audio and Video.
How is your I/O sub-system set up? Number of HDD's, sizes, speed and controller type?
