Bluetooth active but PC Suite doesn't find NOKIA 6...

I have installed bluetooth on my PC. This PC finds my NOKIA 6230 telephone. When performing a click with the right button of my mouse on the PCs bluetooth icon, it finds the telephone. Also with the right button on the bluetooth icon I can download pictures that I have taken with my phone. So, obviously, I have successfully created a communication between PC and phone. However, the connection is always interrupted after 1 minute or so. Also, although my PC finds my phone, when I try the same with Nokia Suite Connector, this programme doesn't find my phone at all.
What can I do to get Nokia Suite Connector find my phone via bluetooth? What can I do to establish a bluetooth connection that is not interrupted after 1 minute?
Just to confirm: Both my PC and the phone have once required a bluetooth code. I have selected "visible for all" on my phone.
Thank you for your help. By the way: I have a BELKIN Bluetooth adapter. It uses COM4 (if this is important)...
Thanks for your help, violincase

After you uninstall the bluetooth drivers that came with the belkin, yhou kust boot pc and reconnect the usb bluetooth stick (I assume that is the thing you have) and let windows auomatically recognise the hardware and then you can see if windows bluetooth software is compatible the the usb stick, it will install the window bluetooth drivers. If the windows own bluetooth driver is not compatible, windows will ask for the cd

Disk Utility says everything's fine, but Install disk doesn't find my internal drive as a possible destination. When I startup with Command + S, I get a looping "cannot mount errno = 19" message.
Problem started when I used Tech Tool Pro 6 to "de-fragment volume". Had to cancel that process before it finished because I ran out of time. Thereafter, when I startup my machine normally, I get the gray Apple logo at first, but it changes to a prohibited symbol (circle with a slash thru it) and hangs.
When I startup holding the Option key, I can see my internal drive, but I get the same results as above.
When I startup using the MacBook OSX Install DVD, it does not find my internal drive as possible destination.
When I startup using the MacBook OSX Install DVD and then run Disk Utility, it finds my drive, allows me to "repair" and says everything is fine.
When I startup with Command + S, I get a looping error message "errno = 19" and cannot stop it to do anything else.
When I startup from Disk Warrior v4.4, it does not find my internal drive to do any repairs.
When I startup from Tech Tool Pro 6 and run the "computer check" diagnostics, everything passes but the Volume Structure, which fails at "Volume Extents (B-tree)." When I use TTP's "Tools" option to run "volume repair" it will show my internal drive and allow me to click the GO button, but nothing happens and nothing changes.
I have a Time Machine backup on an external USB drive, but for as long as the internal drive doesn't mount, I can't use the backup to restore.

It's a false report and should be ignored.
I would not rely on TT as I've already said earlier even before Grant posted similar advice.
I really think the Rigid Disk Block may be corrupted. This holds the partition map and could prevent a volume from being unmounted. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix that without repartitioning the drive which will remove everything. So, before going down this road I hope you have backups or can make a backup.
    Drive Partition and Format
    1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.
    5. Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

Internet connection doesn't find a Modem, previous version found several although none worked. What's gone wrong??
    Thanks for your help!

  • Nokia Suite won't find Nokia 5610 on bluetooth

Hello, I recently upgraded from Nokia Ovi Suite to Nokia Suite and after I did that, Nokia Suite won't find my 5610 by bluetooth. I tried uninstall and reinstall Nokia Suite but no results. I noticed however that Nokia 5610 has been removed from the compatibility list with Nokia Suite. Does this mean 5610 won't work with Nokia Suite? I've also updated my bluetooth drivers but no effect.
    Regards

    Hi tokenize,
Very much welcome to the Nokia Discussions Forum! Download Nokia PC suite and try the connection with that.
You can also take a look at this page and see if downloading bluetooth drivers from there helps. 5610 has indeed been removed from Nokia Suite compatibility list.
Hope you're able to connect your to the PC now.

Only ovi player works with the music in mediatransfer mode. Any ideas?

There are still issues with OVI and W7 (64bit). Use Nokia PCSuite. Install as admin and in XP compatibility mode.

  • Nokia Suite doesn't detect Nokia E62

I tried to connect my Nokia E62 with the usb to my comp and I can not get it to detect it. It keeps asking for the driver. I installed everything. I am using Motorola SKN6371C usb cable which  I was told was suppose to work. Is this the problem?

Nokia cables will work definitely with Nokia PC Suite, because the necessary drivers are bundled with the software. That's why when you're connecting a compatible Nokia cable to PC Suite, you will see a little message during the set up process that states it's installing drivers.
Based on your description, your Motorola cable will need to have the drivers installed first before installing PC Suite. I suggest you check with Motorola or go to their website to see if they provide the driver file for download and install that before you re-install Nokia PC Suite after uninstalling it like radical24 said.
Just bear in mind, it may not work since you're not using a recommended cable. Can try though.
"Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."

  • Ovi Suite doesn't detect Phone

    Well I have N97
Used to have problem 'USB phone parent' driver couldnt be instaled - Just done PC suite cleaner and fixed that problem.
Now its installed driver wise, so 'My computer' sees N97, and phone says its in PC suite mode BUT
Ovi suite doesn't detect it. I tried 'add new device' it still didnt find it.
I can browse it fine through my computer.
And before you say - yes phone is in PC suite mode.
I also just did hard reset of phone

Please follow the steps provided below and check.
    Uninstall the following from add/remove
    - Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Nokia Connecting cable driver
    - PC Connectivity Solution
Then go to device manager ( Right Click My Computer-Manage) then ports- Uninstall all the ports which is by name nokia (
there might be multiple entries, but remove them), but please dont remove any other from there which might lead to
    malfunction.
    - go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache and remove all the sub folders inside that.
For windows vista and windows 7 it will be C:/Program Data/OviInstallerCache
    - Restart Computer
    - Download and install ovi suite
    - Restart computer
    - Then connnect the device and wait till all the drivers are downloaded.
    - Then launch Ovi Suite connect the device.
This has solved the issue in many cases.
    Hopefully this works.

  • Pkg-config doesn't find libmfx

    Hi,
I'm trying to build ffmpeg with h264_qsv (QuickSync) support. In order to do that, I need libmfx. But pkg-config doesn't find the libmfx files, although they are present:
PKG_CONFIG_PATH is filled with the correct path:

  • Photosmart 5520 mostly doesn't find my WIFI

Bought a Photosmart 5520 yesterday and installed it on my MacBook Pro (Mac OSX 10.8). Everything works well, but the printer hardly recognizes our WIFI-router. In a few moments he'll print some files, but mostly he doesn't find our WIFI and therefore doesn't work wireless.
There's nothing wrong with our WIFI or router, because all our devices (MacBook Pro, two iPhones 4, iPad 2 and Apple TV) always works very well without any problems.
Somewhere I read that it's possible that it has to do something with MAC filtering on your router (in my case a Linksys). But I checked that and MAC filtering is disabled on the router.
What's the problem? Why does the Photosmart hardly never find my perfectly working WIFI-router?

There are a few things to check on your router:
    1. Make sure that 802.11g is enabled.
    2. Make sure that the router is broadcasting its network name (SSID).
    3. Change the router channel to 11 and make sure the printer has a good signal according to its Wireless Test on the front panel of the printer.
    4. Do not use WEP.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Grub doesn't find OSs (UEFI installation)

I'm trying to install Arch Linux for the second time. Apparently Universe doesn't want me to do it easily not even once...
So I've done everything that the wiki says, and when it comes to installing grub, I install grub, os-prober and efibootmgr
    then I do:
    grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=grub_uefi --recheck --debug
    This step finishes without errors.
Then I try to detect the OSs and create a grub.cfg file that contains them with no success....
    grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
I haven't saved the output of the command but something between the lines is this...
It tries to run something that has to do with lvm (I think it said it's a module) and it can't find that module? Or something like that <---< I have no clue what that is, but by reading on the internet it's something that I've never messed with so... it's unlikely to have it
Then I get errors/warnings about sda3 partition which is the Microsoft Windows 8.1 Reserved partition... and something about not naming right my ufs partition? Or something like that
If I uninstall os-prober then the script runs without warnings but it still doesn't find the OS not even arch linux, cfg file contains zero entries.
When I boot from grub_uefi boot entry, I get the grub minimal console (Which I don't know how to operate or what to do with it)
And last but not least... A fix to that "grub bug" was to disable submenus (Read that In this forum). I did it, I disabled submenus and ran grub-mkconfig again but nothing changed.
I know the info is very vague but I hope that someone with knowledge can figure out what those errors are and why it can't find the oses....
    Ty in advance

@TheSaint Yes, I chrooted  into the installation...
@ Head_on_a_Stick, I'm not home right now but if you tell me what you want to see from that command, Maybe I can tell you by memory, I've run fdisk -l (Which I suspect shows a similar output) too many times so I've memorized my partitions.
I did solve the problem by using gummiboot instead of grub, but I'd still like to know why grub couldn't find the OSes... I'm VERY sure that I did all the steps of the installation right, I've memorized the steps AND I made sure to read them again before doing the installation.
