Bluetooth and Auto-Lock

I have an interesting problem... Blue tooth Audio gets real "choppy" when Auto-lock enables and when I wake up the Ipad the distortion goes away. I am using Sennheiser 400's for my headset but I suspect it is something in how the Ipod goes into Auto-lock mode. The same issue does not occur for a wired connection. Any ideas other than click on never for Auto-Lock?

No promises but a system Reset cures many ills and takes but a minute to perform:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A Reset does NOT delete apps, photos, movies, music or any other data. A Reset does NOT delete any settings for email, network access, etc.
Also, you might wish to download the 4.2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 170.

Bluetooth triggers auto-lock?

On my iPhone5, when I place a call using my bluetooth headset, auto-lock activates during the call. If I want to hang up or use the phone while talking, I have to press the home key and swipe to open. When I make a call using the speakerphone, auto-lock does not activate, the screen just dims.
Is there a way to fix this, without disabling auto-lock entirely?

Notification center and auto-lock does not work. iPhone 5 iOS 7.

Hey there!
I have got an issue with my iphone 5 after installing iOS 7.
AfterI switch on my phone everything works perfectly but after some time ( sometimes it is few hours, few minutes ) the following options stops working:
1. Notification center - I cannot slide it down, neither the one from the top or bottom. Nothing happens when I try to do that.
2. Auto-lock screen stops working! It is eating my battery really badly.
Everything comes back to normal after restart but then again... some things happen as I mentioned above. Please Apple fix this ASAP because it really is frustrating. Am I the only with who has this issue?

Same here. For me, all three happens. Notification Center stops working, control center stops working, and the auto lock stops working. What I noticed:
1. When I hold the power and home button together to do a force restart, the time it takes for the above problem to occur is far less than if you do a normal power off and on....
2. Im currently running iOS 7.0.4... And with every update, the time it takes for the problem to come up again is getting shorter. With iOS 7.0.0 it used to be like 3-4 days. 7.0.2 it came down to 24-36 hours... Now, with 7.0.4 it happens within a couple of hours.
It really gets frustrating because even if you are in the lock screen, the display doesnt turn off unless you manually press the sleep button....
The only things I haven't tried yet:
- Reset all settings (Frustration after the iOS 7.0.4 update might force me to do this within the next week....)
- Restore the phone (Mine's 64GB 4S... And I don't sync my phone quite often so this is quite a hectic process for me. I dont want to do this unless I really have to)

Controls and auto-lock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just added an ipod touch to my ipod collection and my first question as a first-time user is this: i have the auto-lock on 3 mins, and if i'm listening in shuffle and wanted to change the volume or skip songs, i have to hit the home button, slide to unlock .... then do the skip or volume.
any easier workaround to this than having auto-lock off and drain the battery??

if it's in coverflow and it goes to sleep it will go into portrait orientation... so double-click the home button as before...
if it's in coverflow an you want to skip to the next song in a playlist isn't it pretty easy to just flip it 90 degrees press next and then flip back to coverflow?

Bluetooth and file lock-down

Simply wanted to share a picture with a friend over bluetooth but the iphone dosen't allow this, but why?

What would you advise for moving files around, email? Wifi via an app?
Yes, there are several apps in the App Store for this (Air Sharing, File Magnet, DataCase) - they allow file transfer between your computer and iPhone on the same Wi-Fi network.
What if they want it on there phone that dosent support email?
If their phone supports MMS (the iPhone does not), their phone can reveice a pic sent via email. MMS actually uses email addresses, although that's not obvious to the user. You need to know the carrier. For example, to email a pic to a phone on the AT&T network, you'd email it to [email protected]

Auto-locks even when I am using application!! Please help

Hi there..
My iPhone autolocks even when I am using application on my iPhone!! eg. Using tomtom or playing a game!! Anyone had simillar experiance?
My phone is setup to suto lock if inactive for 2 minutes. So using an application should be considered an activity and auto-lock function should not kick in. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Inactivity is judged by the iPhone as a lack of user input (aka touching it) for 2 minutes. Being in an App will not change this feature.
The only solution is to change your autolock settings.

Speak Screen halts when Auto Lock comes on

If I am using Speak Screen to have a book read to me from Kindle, and Auto Lock comes on, Speak Screen stops reading.
I have friends who use this same functionality who say their phone keeps reading to them when their phone is locked. Does anyone know what setting I should use to do this? If I set Auto Lock to "Never" it keeps reading, but then my battery drains quickly because the screen stays on.

If you search the forum for "lossless" you will discover that this is a problem/bug anyone who is using lossless is having. Currently there is no fix, other than to not use lossless. You can send feedback stating your dissatisfaction with this:

Has anyone else had the problem where Siri on iOS 6 locks the phone after sending a text using a Bluetooth headset. I have the auto lock turned off but I have had it happen many times.

Siri is locking my iPhone 5 running ios6 after sending a text message using my Jawbone icon HD Bluetooth earpiece. Sometimes it will lock before the text is even sent. I have the auto lock turned off.

I have this problem too. Auto lock is off and Siri can be used from the lock screen but this defeats the purpose of hands free usage for example when you are on a bicycle and can't use the phone normally. After sending a message or a reply to one Siri locks the phone and you cannot hear new messages until you unlock the phone which can be potentially dangerous!
I'd love to see if there is a solution as I can't see any option in settings (either Siri settings or pass lock settings) to fix this.

- Try a reset. Nothing is lost:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Connect the iPod to your computer and try to restore via iTunes. Try placing in Recovery mode if necessary to restore.
- If you can't turn the iPod completely off, let the batter fully drain. After charging for at lerast anhour try again
- If still not successful time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

This sorted it for me:
Backup your iPhone to iCloud (I believe backing up to iTunes will work too). Now go to "Settings --> General --> Reset --> Erase All Content and Settings" to completely restore your iPhone to factory settings. Assuming you've backed up to iCloud, you'll be asked when setting up your iPhone if you want to restore from an iCloud backup. Choose that option and once your iPhone has restored itself from your backup, this annoying problem will finally be gone! (was for me anyway).
To restore from an iTunes backup, connect your iPhone to your computer, load iTunes. Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up.

I have tried the mystical swiping upward on the screen with 4 fingers to get some special sound menu (which I never succeeded in getting). My headphone jack doesn't work all the time either so some times my kids can hear their games and sometimes they can't. I am super frustrated at this point. So any suggestions would be great. Am I missing something basic or do we just have a soundless iPad now?

I have the same problem, only my lines are red. I just bought a 52 16GB to replace my iPhone 4. The old phone started having the red lines moving back and forth, and I looked on some of the forums, and was led to believe that it meant the phone was dying. Since I've had it for a long time, and it was real slow, I thought getting a new phone would be the solution. But wouldn't you know it, after a week or so, the red lines started showing up on the 5s. And now the auto-lock doesn't, and I keep running the battery down because I forget to manually lock it. The red lines make me think there's a virus, since it migrated to the new phone. As to the auto-lock, I have no idea.
Any help would be really appreciated. I had to select a reply option, so I replied to the original post, but I'm hoping someone out there has a solution.

Whats wrong with auto lock and key lock sound?

I don't know why my iphone 4s become cant auto lock after i update to ios 6. This is so ****** me off. And other one is i dont know why my key lock sound is so loud suddenly (after updated to ios 6) . Even i set my ringer as the lowest one but it still the same. Hope Apple can fix it real soon. YES! I'm having the same problem as is my husband. It's making us NUTS! Has anyone heard why? We're also noticing that sometimes the keypad doesn't even show up when you open a text message window. And also, sometimes we can't answer calls..it won't let us slide the bar. Soooo irritating..

restricvtionds"

Tap Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock -> Enter passcode -> Turn passcode off -> Enter passcode again.
