Bluetooth and/or Wireless Mouse Recommendation?

Hi Mac People...
I just got a new Black Macbook on Saturday--very happy and would like to find a nice wireless (bluetooth preferred) mouse for it.
I was thinking wireless mighty mouse, but it's white and I'd prefer to have one that is black to match the notebook and my iPod.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
John

I have a black Logitech v200 cordless mouse that I
absolutely love. With OS X having so much more
available with the control click, Ive gotten used to
having a 2 button scroll mouse. Here's the link for
it on Amazon. I highly recommend it. Only thing is
its not bluetooth, but it lasts a long time. Ive had
the same batteries in it for 3 months now, and I use
it everyday.

This one looks nice.... I'm going to put it in my shopping cart on Amazon for now and unless something better comes along, this one looks like a winner.
Thanks again for all the helpful suggestions all...

  • Does the imac come with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse?

I am buying an imac tomorrow and I was wondering if I have to pay extra for a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse.

iMac's come with a wireless keyboard and magic mouse, as the standard fare. So you don't need to pay extra for them. I would recommend purchasing rechargable batteries and a charger, as the mouse does chew through batteries.

  • Problems with bluetooth connection to wireless mouse and keyboard

I am using a mac book (aluminium) with 10.6.4 with a Cinema Display and a wireless keyboard and mouse. My time capsule is located only 1 meter away from the mac book and every time the automatic sync starts my mouse and keyboard do not repsond anymore. It seems that the bluetooth connection is somehow heavily loaded due to the network traffic. I have updated all devices and restarted the computer several times. It always keeps on doing that. Any help?

  • Wireless mouse recommendations?

I just got a Logitech mini wireless mouse for my mother's clamshell iBook, after a few frustrating minutes I realized that the usb plug was way too big. I'm going to have to take it back to the store tomorrow. So do any of you know of a good usb wireless plug that actually fits?
    Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. I solved similiar problem with a USB flash memory from Kingston that didn't fit; due to molded case design of iBook, with a 3" USB cable. This is cheap, easy to carry, and works in a pinch when required for any other USB device you may need to adapt. See for example: http://www.pccables.com/cgi-bin/orders6.cgi?action=Showitem&id=ID138371&partno=7 0615&search=USB&rsite=g.usb2&rcode=
If Mom does not travel with the iBook a Hub as above would also work.
If you shop around you can find another Mouse with a more standard connector that will fit directly. I use a three button one from Macally that fits fine ( no adaptor) and requires no software to run in OS 10.

  • My Windows 7 can't find the drivers for a plug and play wireless mouse and keyboard

I tried it on Mac and a windows desktop it worked instantly. Please help me, what should i do?
    OS X 10.8.4

The manufacturer is unknown because it is not a branded product, what confuses me is that my mac works with it. I plugged it to a desktop windows and it worked also. I looked for the driver it was using and found it in the windows system 32 folder. I then look if my windows on laptop have the same file/driver and yes it has. But still the problem is it cannot find the driver.

  • Can't I use my wireless mouse and trackpad in different ways when scrolling?

Since I'm a Chinese user, I prefer describing my question in my mother language...I will translate it...

Well, there is two setting items in system preference for "mouse" and "trackpad", and there do have the checkbox for "Move content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigating" and for "Scroll direction: natural". I checked the "Natural Scroll"---- if I may call it this way ---- option and unchecked the same option in mouse setting wishing to use my mouse and trackpad in different ways...
However, it turned out to be a confusing phenomenon like I can only use my mouse and trackpad in the way "Natural Scroll" or the way it used to be. If I double click the checkbox of "Move content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigating" to refresh my settings, both my mouse and trackpad will turn into the way it used to be in scrolling while if I double click on the "Natural Scroll" checkbox, both of them will turn into the new way.
At the same time, eventhrough the setting of my mouse has been changed by the changing of trackpad setting, the checkbox in "mouse" is still unchecked and that's where makes it seems like a BUG....
So, is there anybody who meets the same problem? The reason I want to use this two device in different ways is I just don't like to use mouse in the new way, it's unconfortable for me.
And, I use a new MacBook Air 11' and a wireless mouse called Rapoo 6900
Here comes the link of my wireless mouse.

    jhawk,
I can see the appeal of your desired setup, but is the limitation the inability to "Pair" the mouse/keyboard to more than one computer at a time? (Practically, that makes sense, you don't want to be blindly moving both cursors around at the same time, since you can only see one screen at a time)
You CAN operate bluetooth devices on Windows without pairing-you just need to locate the device each time before using:
    http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wireless/2003/09/18/winxpunwired.html
So maybe you can pair the Mac version, and just search out the device each time you switch over? (but then you would have to "unpair" it off the Mac too) Maybe you need to write two scripts for each platform: pair/unpair devices.
Sounds like it would be easier to buy two wireless keyboards and mice :P
What you really want is a utility like this:
    http://www.abyssoft.com/software/teleport/
(its only Mac to Mac though, unfortunately)
    Good luck!

  • In Safari, my iMac sometimes zooms way too much and will not zoom back.  I have a wireless mouse set to zoom in and out on double tap, but the excessive zooms happen with no taps.

In Safari, my iMac sometimes zooms way too much and will not zoom back.  I have a wireless mouse set to zoom in and out on double tap, but the excessive zooms happen with no taps.  A page zooms in so less than 1/4 of the page is visible and nothing I do will zoom back out, command minus doesn't do it, double tap on mouse does not zoom out, and the window will not scroll to show any of the rest of the page.  reloading the page does not help.  Loading a different page gives me a normal view again.

If it were a tweaked setting, it should happen less randomly.  And there should be no settings that could override the zoom setting in unversal Access and the Mouse zoom preferences.
In addition, this only happens in Safari 6, and seems to happen more fredquently on some websites and not on others.  That suggests some sort of conflict in the site code with Safari and Apple wireless mouse code.  It does not happen in Mail, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other software as far as I can tell.

  • Can I have 2 wireless mouses (mice?) at the same time on my iMac

I just purchased an iMac and it comes with the Magic Mouse. This is a bit much for my grandchildren to use. Can I leave my old Logitech wireless mouse attached and use one of the other as I choose?

I have a Magic Mouse (bluetooth), and a Logitech mouse that uses a USB dongle for its wireless access.
I can use both at the same time, although it is most confusing if they are used at the exact same time

  • Wireless mouse intermittently drops out/stops working

I have just bought a Mac Mini. I'm not a fan of Apple keyboards or mice, so I've bought a third party keyboard and I'm using a mouse that I already had (Microsoft Wireless Mouse 1000). Whilst it works fine with my Macbook Pro and PC, with the mini I get drop outs in the form of jerky movement and occassionally stopping long enough to see it just isn't moving. The mini works fine with a wired mouse.
My gut feeling from playing around with the different mice and computers is that it is actually the aluminium case shielding the signal from the mouse (as both are on the desktop and the mini sits at the back of the desk with the USB ports on the back and a great chunk of aluminium therefore in front of it.
I have a USB hub built in to the monitor, but that seems to have the same problem - the USB ports are behind the panel and associated electronics. Sadly, my keyboard (Ducky Zero DK2108) doesn't have a hub built in, so I can't connect the dongle to that either.
I'm just surprised I haven't seen (after a lot of googling) other complaints about the same. I may have to reluctantly buy a Bluetooth mouse as the BT antenna is of course outside of the Alu case. An alternative may be to use a small USB hub that can be positioned with line-of-sight to the mouse. It seems absurd I would have to do either of those things.
Can anyone else comment on their experiences?

  • Should I get stock 20" 2Ghz with 2 year or upgrade HDD+Wireless mouse+1 yea

Ok In the UK John Lewis sell the iMac with a 2 year warranty as standard. However it has to be a stock one.
Looking on the Apple UK store I see the upgrade from 250Gb HDD to 320 HDD is £29 and the Wireless mouse £12, so I was going to go for that, but will only get a 1 year warranty off Apple direct.
What do you think is the best option? The wireless mouse seperate to buy is £50!!! alone
    Cheers

These are simply my opinions but:
All Apple mice are worse than useless. I actually paid the £12 extra for the wireless one. I lasted about 20 minutes and it went back in the box. I'd rather have a functional mouse. So I'm sticking with my nice Microsoft mice which are actually comfortable to hold and the five buttons are great for Exposé, Dashboard etc.
250GB is pretty small nowadays. With the amount of digital content most of us have now you'll run out pretty quickly.
    cheers

  • How can I access applications if the wireless mouse does NOT work?

I have a new iMac (Snow Leopard) which comes with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. Just in case that the wireless mouse does not work, how can I navigate through applications and the screen?
Any advice will be welcome. Thanks and cheers, Veit

    Great, it works.
    Let me replicate:
    Shift-Command-A (on the Desktop, (but how to get there?) to open Apps, e.g System Preferences;
    Arrow keys to navigate within Apps;
    Command-down arrow to open a specific app;
Arrows to move around, e.g. to Magic Mouse
    Space to open Magic Mouse;
Tab to move between options and arrows to change these; and Tab back to the back icon.
Thanks a lot to both of you, much appreciated your help. Cheers, Veit
