Bluetooth AVRCP on Mac OS X

I have a question about Bluetooth AVRCP on Mac OS X (AVRCP is the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile, which is part of the Bluetooth specification).  I am using a Bluetooth headset with the Spotify app on Mac OS X.  The combination works well and I'm very happy with the sound quality.  However, the Play/Pause and Track Forward/Backward controls on the headset have no effect on Spotify.  Instead they cause iTunes to start.  The AVRCP functions of the headset work properly in other situations, such as with an iPad, so I don't think there is any problem with the headset. I read a number of other posts about AVRCP with Spotify, but I did not find any that addressed this specific case.  I don't know if this is an issue with Spotify, Mac OS X, or both.  Does anybody know what and/or where the problem is? Here are the technical details: MacBook Pro, early 2015, Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.4, Bluetooth 4.3.5f8.Spotify 1.0.8.59.gee82e7e6.Sony Wireless Stereo Headset, MDR-ZX770BT, Bluetooth 3.0. Thanks in advance for any help.

But what about my wireless mouse? It's a Microsoft and when it's plugged in, additional boxes come up so I can select Button 1 for Expose, or Button 2 for Dashboard, etc... Are you saying this will absolutely not work with a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse? I contacted the seller about and he said it does support Mac but I'm still not sure...

  • Can I use a bluetooth keyboard on a non-bluetooth enabled (Old)Mac Pro?

Sorry, this seems like something I could easily find an answer to, but I haven't found the answer on the forums or in google searches.
My quad core Mac Pro is not Bluetooth enabled.  I'm assuming I can just use a USB Bluetooth dongle to talk to the keyboard.  I thought I would double check before I start spending money.  I do have a Belkin Bluetooth dongle already, but I've seen some talk about some talk about some other options from the Mac Store.  I'm just hoping to hear what has worked for others.
    Thanks!

  • Bluetooth: Not Available mac book pro 15 inch

My Bluetooth has gone missing and when i click on bluetooth file exchanger i get this message: no bluetooh hardware found. In order to use this application, you must have a bluetooth module. please verify that your bluetooth hardware is properly attached to the computer.
Could someone please send me a bluetooth driver down load for a macbook pro 15 inch 2011 or another way to solve my problem.
    Thank you Apple support community.

If your bluetooth service is suddenly not available on your Mac, here is a fix:
    01. Click on “Finder” in bottom left of your screen in the Dock
    02. Click on your “Home” icon on the left (picture of a house)
    03. Double-click on the “Library” folder
    04. Double-click on “Preferences” folder
    05. Delete file named “com.apple.Bluetooth.plist” (also delete any other item with “com.apple.Bluetooth…”, if any)
    06. Shutdown your computer
    07. Unplug all USB and Firewire devices
    08. Unplug power cord
    09. Remove battery (if it’s a Macbook or Macbook Pro)
    10. Wait 1-2 min
    11. Hold down power button for 10 sec with the battery out (if it’s a Macbook or Macbook Pro)
    12. Insert battery (if it’s a Macbook or Macbook Pro)
    13. Startup again
    14. It should work!

  • Connecting bluetooth device to mac

I have Sennheiser M450-X bluetooth headpones, a mac book pro running osx 10.8.2 and an iphone 4S running ios 6.1.3. I have paired my headphones with my mac fine and they work as expected. When my mac is turned off I have my headphones also paired with my iphone. The problem is when I have my headphones connected to my iphone then I want to listen to my mac, I dissconnect my headphones from my iphone then try to connect them to my mac. They don't connect with my mac, the only way I can get the headphones to connect to the mac is to delete the pairing on my mac and pair them again. Surely there must be an easier way. Please help.
I understand if this question would be better asked on the sennheiser website.

There seems to be no "connect" button on the bluetooth system preferences window on mac. Whereas on iphone you can tap the device name to connect.

  • HT2995 Trouble Pairing Bluetooth speaker with Mac Mini

I can't seem to get the Bluetooth on my Mac Mini to recognize my LG wireless speakers (though the Bluetooth on my iPad recognizes the LG wireless speakers). Any thoughts on how to correct this?
The Mac Mini simply does not seem to recognize that the LG speaker exists.  I know the LG speaker is in Bluetooth discxoverable mode, as my iPad sees it.

You do have the iPad's BT turned off, right, when you try to pair with the Mac?
Better yet, on the iPad make sure the speakers are unpaired-removed, and then try pairing with your mini.

  • N8 Bluetooth - AVRCP 1.4

Sounds like you're describing a product from the old USSR.
Another feature missing from the N8 is what Damian Dinning mentioned while discussing the N8's camera with GSMarena:
If you prefer the more processed look, you can adjust the color and sharpness settings on-the-fly and the Nokia N8 will remember those settings for the next time you start the camera.
I can't get this to work on my N8. Does it mean that the feature is there but I can't use it?

Why can´t I see other devices with Bluetooth from my Mac Mini?

Be sure nothing is on top of the Mac Mini. BT and Wi-Fi antennas are just beyond the top. If something is onto the Mac Mini, wireless job will not be OK.

  • Help setting up Bluetooth on phone/Mac! "Not Connected"

    Hi,
I recently just got a new Motorola phone, its the same model phone I have been using for 2 years. My bluetooth was set up fine before, but I have been trying to set up my bluetooth between my new phone/Mac, and it hasn't been working.
I paired both items to each other (with the PIN..etc), but when I select "Add Audio Device" on my mobile phone, it says "Macbook pro not supported", and on my bluetooth on my Mac it says its paired, but "Not Connected".
I remember when I setup the bluetooth on my old phone I had to make one change to get the "Not Connected" to say "Connected" on my Mac...but I can't remember what it was.
Any help would be great, Thanks!

  • Bluetooth on Early Mac Pro

I have an older Mac Pro, c. 2006.  I posted on here last week about what the best way is to add bluetooth and the concensus seemed to be to use a USB fob.  Well, I picked on up, one that "says" it's for the Mac.  I'm pulling my hair out.  I have to re-pair my keyboard everytime I reboot the machine and, sometimes, I have to repair 5-6 times before it "sticks."  Does anyone know of what the best USB solution is for bluetooth with the mac keyboard?

Wow- I did not know this. Apparently it's technically possible.

here's something about Airplay, which streams music wirelessly (not Bluetooth, Wifi, I think- as far as i remember, iTunes has Airplay on the Mac Pro
maybe Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil (not free, alas)
I'd guess you'd need some kind of Bluetooth audio reciever, and I'm assuming that you have a Bluetooth card in your Mac Pro (you probably do)
so..yes, it's possible, Pete. I suppose you could even stream that audio to your home stereo reciever, if you felt like it. I don't know which brands are good or better than others, though
    good luck to you

  • The bluetooth on my Mac will not connect to my iPhone 6.

I am trying to connect my phone to my mac so I can use airdrop. The Mac will not connect to the phone. I checked my System Information and the Bluetooth on my Mac is LMD 0X4. I believe the problem is that it needs to be LMD 0X6. How do I upgrade?

You do not need to connect/pair the devices to use Airdrop. All you need to do is have Bluetooth on and on the same Wi-Fi network. See this support document for answers to other questions about setting up and using AirDrop. Mac Basics: AirDrop lets you send files from your Mac to nearby Macs and iOS devices - Apple Support
