Bluetooth broken

I am having similar problem on my Dell Inspiron N5010 running Windows 7.  I tried downloading driver suggested  ( Dell wireless 365  bluetooth
driver) successfully.  Still does not work.  I did not update BIOS because I was afraid of territory I'm not too familiar with.
My problem:  Have a bluetooth printer and have been sending to for over a year with no problems.  (think I may have picked up some malware along the way)  Was going to pair my phone, clicked on bluetooth icon in my tray.  Icon disappeared
from tray and all evidence of bluetooth is gone and I can no longer send print files to printer.    (I checked printer by sending file from phone successfully using bluetooth)
What can I do to get my bluetooth visible again?

Hi,
Firstly please uninstall all bluetooth printer driver from PC.
After that check to enable the bluetooth on the computer and the printer, then add the printer to your bluetooth network as below:
Connect to Bluetooth and other wireless or network devices
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/connect-to-bluetooth-and-other-wireless-or-network-devices
In addition, Which model printer did you use?
If it is HP product, this guide might be helpful:

  • Is my Bluetooth broken?

I may need to return my phone. It seems that Bluetooth is not working but I thought I'd run it by the forum just in case I've not set it up properly. Basically I go into settings, then Bluetooth an press 'on'. It scans for devices but nothing comes up. I've tried the same test with an old Nokia and it recognises my computer and my iphone. My computer (osx 10.6.4) recognises both phones.
It just seems that Bluetooth doesn't work on the iPhone. I'm on iOS4 and don't really want to update to 4.1 yet because last time I did that I introduced further problems. So - I'm kind of stating the obvious but is Bluetooth 'broken' or is there something futher I need to do in order to make it work (apart from updating to 4.1)?
    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Bluetooth in the iPhone is only for:
    a) Bluetooth headsets for hands-free calling
    b) Bluetooth speakers and car audio systems for audio playback (some car systems also allow hands-free calling and address book access)
    c) internet tethering with a computer
    d) playing some peer-to-peer Apps/Games between iOS devices
    e) a Bluetooth keyboard
See: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647 for a complete list of Bluetooth profiles supported by iOS devices.
If you are trying to connect your iPhone to any other Bluetooth device for any other reason (such as file transfers), it won't work.

  • Bluetooth broken? I have a fix.

Bluetooth is still broken in version 4.0.0.19550.  Not surprising.  Thankfully, unlike previous versions of Skype, there is a way to make Skype THINK it's a professional app in this version!  You heard it here first, folks!  The Skype Gods really have been listening to our prayers, and bestowed upon us a version of Skype that--while still broken--is slightly less broken than previous versions!  Glorious day!  As a consumer, I am humbled to know that the developers not only listen to us, but recognize and fix the problems we find for them!
Alright, so, let's get this started, shall we?  How do you get your Bluetooth headset working on your Skype phone, and why isn't your phone/headset working properly?
I'll tell you now, that it's probably got more to do with Skype than whatever ROM/kernel you're running. I tried this on my stock 4.2.2 Nexus 4, and on CM10.1 stable, running Franco's Kernel r151, and a Nexus 7 that's been through so many different ROMs and kernels, I couldn't begin to tell you. The headset I'm using is the LG HBS730, which has served me well in all tasks on my phone other than Skype for Android. This is a long-standing problem I've had with Skype; the conspiracy theorist inside of me wants to believe it's because Microsoft wants to push their Windows phones by purposefully making their Android client stink, but the realist in me hopes that's not true (what with the wide range of Android hardware that the Skype Client would have to support).
Okay, to get the headset working, I've done the following.
    1. Make sure your headset's paired.  And, before you start skype, turn your bluetooth headset off and wait until it disconnects.
    2. I turn my phone's Bluetooth off and on again. Do not reconnnect the headset yet.
    3. Sign into Skype (I'm using the version that was updated on July 10, 2013 (version 4.0.0.19550).
    4. Join the call that your friend(s) are in. You will start to hear them over your phone's loudspeaker or the regular speaker.
    5. Turn your Bluetooth headset on, wait for it to connect. When it connects, Skype should automatically recognize it, and start using both the mic and the earphones on the headset, and you should be able to talk normally.  You will notice the Bluetooth icon has now appeared in place of the loudspeaker icon.
Here are some things that will annoy you, though:
When you get a regular phone call, the Skype call will be put on hold. When you end the phone call and try to rejoin the Skype call, Skype will still see the headset as connected, but will continue to use the phone's speaker and microphone.
This is going to happen a lot, and here's how to fix that:
    1. Leave the call, and sign out.
    2. Close the app from the little task manager thingy (If it's a Galaxy SIII, just hold the home button and swipe it away).
    3. Disconnect the Bluetooth headset. You can turn your bluetooth on your phone on and off again real quick if you think that helps--I have yet to determine if it does.
    4. Sign back into Skype, and join the call.
    5. Turn your headset back on again, and Skype should connect to the headset.
5b. Sometimes, the bluetooth icon will appear active, but you will get sound from the phone and it will be using your phone's built-in mic.  Start from step 1 if this happens.
Sadly, for some bizarre reason, I have not been able to connect my headset to my phone, and sign into Skype with the expectation that anything will work, at all. I wish it weren't so complicated, but it is.
Oh, and FYI, don't bother with Skype premium. Group video doesn't work on Android phones OR Windows phones (even from Windows desktop to Windows phone, my friend and I tested; way to sell broken services, Microsoft!), so if you're on-the-go a lot, it's a total waste of money. Also, if you're bike riding, you're probably just going to anger off your friends in the Skype call with all the ambient noise. The mute feature on my headset is not recognized by Skype, so I have to dig my phone out of my pocket to mute it from the screen, but since Bluetooth headsets don't work at all on Skype for Android, I'm not going to hold the muting thing against them.
I hope this helps, but more than that, I hope that one day, Microsoft will restore my faith in Skype. But considering it took them this long to revise their app to the point where Bluetooth even pretends to work, I'm not crossing my fingers.  Exhausted from the endless consumer-abuse, I'm looking for alternatives.
    Hope this helps, 'fellas.
    Gaius C.

Hmmm.. thinking the conspiracy theory of Microsoft nobling Android to sell their own phone operating sys is a good one as I can see no reason why Skype have not fixed this long standing, and very important issue. I have tried various versions of Android on various phones and headsets, the problem seems to be with all, only common factor, Skype on Android. I have seen no official response from Skype on any of the multiple forum threads discussing this problem. All I can say, in my opinion, is Skype is the problem, not an Android one, it's on your doorstep! Plantronics, who have supplied me most headsets, can only offer the advice that it worked fine on Skype Ver 2, and not worked properly since (when did Microsoft buy Skype?). I pay Skype for a service but they are leaving me with no alternative but to vote with my feet, Viber works and I think I need to start looking at all alternatives. Maybe I should look at Linux on the PC too!

  • Iphone 6 with IOS 8.0.2 bluetooth broken with RHB430N Radio in 2011 Ram 1500

I got my 64GB Iphone 6 just after release date, paired properly with my RHB430N radio in my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and worked great. When the new update of IOS came out 8.0.2, I installed that on my phone. Now the bluetooth is broken with my radio. It seems to pair ok from the radio side but I get a message that the phone cant see the uconnect radio during pairing. When I try and make a call, It wont work through voice activation, if I do get to work, the call stays active for about 5sec on the radio then it shuts off, the phone stays on making the call. Weird!
I tried a factory reset on the radio, as well as network reset on my iphone with no luck. My Iphone 4S i had previously paired and worked fine with IOS 7.1.2
anyone else with the issue? I noticed a few other people with different vehicle makes with the same issue after the 8.0.2 update and like I said it paired and worked fine with IOS 8.0 out of the box.
any fixes or work arounds available meantime?

I got my 6 three days ago (fine device, by the way. Meg St Clair will be proud of me: I finally took the plunge, I who claimed that I would never buy another iPhone, but I'm dithering...), and so far, no issues, none whatsoever, when syncing my phone via USB.
WiFi syncing is another matter, though, because the phone simply doesn't appear in iTunes. I've checked all the right boxes, made sure the phone was set to accept WiFi syncing, to no avail.
I'll look into it this weekend, just in case I missed something.
But I can tell you this: all the content I had backed-up is now back on the phone, nothing's missing. I have a 2006 MacBook Pro running Snow Leppard.

  • IOS8 Bluetooth broken for BMW and VW factory handsfree

Since upgrading to IOS8, both iPhone 5C and iPhone 4s have issues in both BMW and VW handsfree, that worked perfectly under IOS 7.x - other iPhone 5c works fine under IOS7.
Phones connect and sync phone books, then drops connection.  Attempt to make or receive call - no audio, must revert to handset or speaker mode.
Doesn't seem to be car manufacturer specific based on posts, Apple may need to review if indeed IOS8 has broken something in the BT specs.
I think I will revert to IOS7 if possible, safety is my concern for the family.

The way I fixed my issue -
Backup your iphone to your PC/Desktop/Laptop.
Reset your iphone to Factory Defaults   (General - Reset - Erase All Content & Settings).
This will bring you back to the "Welcome" screen.
Tap through all the welcome screens - but when it asks you if you want to restore your phone or setup as a new user.    Choose the option to setup as a new user (DO NOT restore from your icloud backup).
This will leave you with a brand new setup of your iphone with no data or apps (except the default apps).
Then go out to your car and pair it with your car and test.    It should work fine.
then go back in the house and hookup the iphone to your PC/Desktop/Laptop using the USB cable and you should be able to see the apps that were loaded and click on them to reinstall them back to the phone and then add your contacts, calendar, etc.
The bluetooth connectivity was very important to me to get working, even if I had to manually type my contacts back into my phone.   I use Exchange for my email so my contacts, appointments, etc loaded the minute I added my mail account back to the phone.
    Good luck.
This is what I found worked for me.    Hope it helps.
Worst case - if it doesnt work - wipe the phone to factory defaults again and then restore from your last icloud backup.

  • Bluetooth broken on Verizon Galaxy Tab?

Is there a fix on the way for the Bluetooth functionality on the Galaxy Tablet?  It seems that with all other versions,(from other providers) it is possible to use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  The Verizon Galaxy will not work with a Keyboard and Mouse at all.  This has been confirmed on many forums.
Is this just a mistake that will be corrected soon with an over the air update or should I consider a return to get a device from another company?  I can't imagine a good reason this would have been removed by Verizon.  All other vendors have it available so what is the story?

Hi, it doesn't seem as you say.  There is a discussion among a few users on Android forums and xda with a youtube video of  a Japanese tab was shown with a bluetooth mouse.  It was pathetically slow--you should wach it--and hilarious too.  It is a touchscreen device, lol.  I don't know if it is related to foreign or GSM versions but some reported eventual success with a Tmob version and there was one report of AT&T.  None for Sprint, I think.
I had a similar issue with Bluetooth voice acttivated dialing on Android--none!.  That was essential to me, but I got the Droid anyway. The feature wasn't added until Froyo.  Anyway what function do these accomplish better than touch or that you need?  To each his own.  Seems to defeat the purpose of a tab.  But if that is essential to you, you should shop around--It's interesting to note that that feature is not touted on any of the carrier's websites--there is no differentiation at all.  They all say 3.0 and none say HID.  But on Samsung's site, they vary.  TMob says 3.0, the other say "yes".

  • Bluetooth broken by iOS4

iOS4 has stuffed up my bluetooth, and I now cannot use my VW Touch Phone kit. The phone appears to pair correctly, but the contacts are never uploaded and it just connects and disconnects on about a 1 min cycle.
I cannot believe that I am not able to restore 3.1.3. What the **** are backups for if you cannot restore them - and if it was irreversible because of major OS change, why wasn't I warned?
Really, really angry about this. I use my phone in the car quite a bit for work.

New information: I performed a reset (holding power and home buttons) and now the bluetooth button have reappeared. It will let you switch bluetooth to the "on" position then it spins for a minute and goes back to "off".

  • IOS8 bluetooth broken. Help!

My iPhone 5s is unable to detect let alone connect to my third party earpiece at all, nor would it connect to my iPad (4th gen) via Personal Hotspot. I had to re-pair how ever I am unable to delete the previous paring. Incidentally my iPad is also not detecting the earpiece but it is detecting my Mac. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues and have you fund a solution?

You need to ensure that you have put the earpiece into discovery mode. Another thing you may try is to go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network settings. However, if you remove the device from the Bluetooth settings on the phone and then put it back into discovery mode, it should connect. I've not had any issues connecting to my vehicle, my BlueAnt headset, or my Samsung TV at home with an iPhone 5S with iOS8. I had all 3 paired in the past on iOS 7.x as well.

  • HT3887 Bluetooth broken?

    Hello everyone,
I have a Macbook 13" Black 2007 model. We had a screen problem for over a year which I finally got fixed today.
However, in that time, we couldn't use it.
I noticed that, in turning it on, Bluetooth is not coming up - says "Unavailable".
Did this model have Bluetooth? I always thought it did but I can't remember. I think the User Manual says it does.
If that's the case, we had Bluetooth before we gave it to the Geniuses, and now we don't.
Just trying to make a case here if in fact, I had it and now I no longer have it.
    Thanks,
    KC.

Yes, your Mac should have Bluetooth.
You can turn Bluetooth onfrom the status menu bar. Cick the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. From the drop down  menu click Turn
    Bluetooth On
If you don't see the icon in the menu bar open System Preferences > Bluetooth
    Selecct On and Discoverable
Then select:  Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar.
If you still have problems, the preferences may be corrupted.
    Go to /Libary/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. Try turning on Bluetooth from the menu bar.
You can view the installed software / hardware by clicking your Apple menu icon then from the drop down menu click About This Mac then click More Info. That will prompt the System Profiler.

  • Bluetooth broken after update to 10.8.5

Since upgrading, my Macbook Pro, doesn't seem to recognise its own internal bluetooth hardware. Does anyone have a fix for this please?

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • IOS 5.0.1 bluetooth broken

Following an over the air update of my iPhone 4S to v5.0.1 bluetooth will no longer connect to my Nuvi 350, Jabra Halo, or Jawbone.  Bad news.  I suppose I can send any ticket I get for not using a hands free while driving to Apple for prompt remuneration.

Please excuse my exasperation.  Following the upgrade to iOS v5.0.1 I could not complete a pairing to any of my bluetooth devices.  Previous to v5.0.1 they had been automatically pairing when in range of my iPhone 4S.
I had read many reports of this that were titled as specific to various models of bluetooth device.  I thought it would be helpful to start a more generic thread.
I've done a hard reboot of the 4S which did not resolve the problem. I also deleted the connection entry on the iPhone and retried which did not resolve the problem.
However;  then I did the next obvious step (which was not obvious to me immediately) and  forced the Nuvi to forget/drop the connection for the 4S and the Nuvi has reconnected.  Will also try on the other devices.
    Forgive me for annoying you.
    Alex

  • 2720 fold bluetooth activation with broken screen

Hi, i have a 2720 fold, broken in various parts and with a severed screen wire (the phone is still functioning though). Before I throw it away I need to retrieve contacts and photos, which I could easily do with my bluetooth connection which I already have set up on my pc. Unfortunately the bluetooth on the phone is off. Can anyone tell me how to turn it on "blind-typing" or does anyone know a shortcut for it? Thank you so much for any help
    Mauro

    Hi Mauro1234,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions! Sorry to hear about the phone, let's see how we can activate the Bluetooth.
First press the Navi-button (menu) > then 1 step down and 1 left (settings) > Navi (select) > 7 steps down (Connectivity) > Navi (select) > Navi (select) > Navi (select) > 1 step up (Bluetooth on) > Navi (select). Now the BT is on.
If the other device cannot find it, go 4 steps down (My phone's visibility) after the BT has been put on > Navi (select) > 2 steps up (show to all) > Navi (select).
Hope you get the data synced! Let me know if some step is unclear. I tried it and got it on with these steps.

  • Nokia 6111 Broken Screen - Turn on Bluetooth

    Hi,
I am yet another person with a Nokia 6111 with a broken screen. I have read through multiple foums and found lots of people asking the same question:
What key strokes do I need to turn on Bluetooth?
Remebber: I can not see the screen, so your instructions will need to be something like this:
    Center button (opens menu)
    Down x3 (Settings)
    Select
    Down x2 (Connectivity)
    Select (etc)
** NOTE: THE ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT - THIS IS AN EXAMPLE! **
If you can exaplin what each stage is doing so much the better.
Once I have turned Bluetooth on I plan on connecting to PC Suite to copy contacts - if you are able to check what I need to do to set up and accept a new connection then I would be REALLY grateful!
    Thanks,
    littleIdiot

    Try this:
    Centre Button (Menu)
    Left
    Centre Button (settings)
    Down x6
Centre Button x3 (connectivity > bluetooth)
    Up (on)
    Centre Button (select)
If it works you will hear a beep.
It may be easier to transfer your contacts if you get a data cable.

  • Broken line across bluetooth icon

    Hello,
I have got a broken line across the bluetooth icon in the upper line of tne screen and all bluetooth device around the MacPro (8 cores mid 2010) such as mouse, pad, keyboard, are inoperative. So I am only able to restart the Mac through the ON/OFF button, and then I have no control at all of the machine, even in target mode (because action with the keybord is not possible).
The entire motherboard was recently changed, and the problem is not solved.
What is the cause of that failure ? Is it a software or a hardware problem ? What is the cure.
    Many thanks

Thank you IIIaass for your quick answer.
Yes, I tried to manage with a USB wired KB and a USB mouse. Same result : nothing. I cannot take the control of the Mac any more.
Regarding your second question : yes, it worked normally a few weeks after the MBoard replacement. And suddenly, without any special action, I've lost control. The only thing I can do is to restart through the main switch. Impossible also to launch another hard disk (there are 5 inside, including one SSD) by maintaining the alt key during a restart because the keybord is inoperative. I's possible to relaunch another HD by leaving only that HD in the Mac. Then it is recognized, and system is launched. I have 10.7.5 and 10.6.8 on those HD. The failure remains exactly the same.
