Bluetooth capability

I have a HP Pavillion G6-2208tx running Win8.
How can I work out if my model has bluetooth capability?
This question was solved.

The audio (both system speaker and Altec built ins) stopped working on my HP Pavilioin g7 notebook. It may be a failure of the chip set?
Settings has entry for Add Bluetooth devices and shows 2 devices: my laptop and the Logitech Receiver (wireless keyboard) and 3 printers: Fax, HP ePrint, MS XPS Doc Writer (they must be preinstalled by either HP or Windows 8).
Control Panel shows the program as IDT audio 1.0.6425.0.  installed 12/5/2012--which was the "birth" day of my device; I purchased it in February 2013.
The HP Product# D1C20UA#ABA.
There are also bluetooth files, but they're stopped and set to start manually--but I find no way to enable them.
My attempts to pair Bluetooth sound devices (which are broacasting) to the laptop fail --Add devices routine fails to recognize the devices.
One discussion suggested I check HP --do I need to purchase a dongle for bluetooth? The sellers said that it was built in, but I can't seem to enable it.  The Audio device manufacturer suggests I download/install Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0--which is designed for Toshibas, not HP. Are the Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 codecs compatible with my system? or should I use something else? How? Windows 8 interface is extremely generic and unhelpful.

There are BT adapters you can connect to the audio out on the TV.
However, there's a few problems doing this:
    1) Randomly placing speakers will make your audio sound out of balance unless you indiviudally adjust each speaker for the optimal seating position.
    2) You'll need powered speakers, each speaker will need a plug or need to be connected to another speaker in the set for power. Battery powered speakers sound terrible and don't hold a charge for very long.
    3) BT audio is stereo only, lossy, and unless you're willing to lay out some cash for the speakers the sound fidelity is pretty bad. Expect fun things like crackles and audio pops.

  • My phone doesn't have bluetooth capability, otherwise, how would you connect to an apple watch?

My phone lost its bluetooth capability. Are there any other ways for an apple watch to connect to your phone?

Since you do not indicate, what model iPhone do you have, and why does it not have Bluetooth? If the Bluetooth is simply not functioning, you would need to take it in to have it repaired. Bluetooth is required for the Apple Watch.

  • I recently purchased a car stereo with Bluetooth capability. I paired my iPhone 4S with it and it wasn't working properly. I went into forget this device. Then found out it was something they did when they installed it. Now it won't pair again. Help

I recently purchased a new car stereo with Bluetooth capability. I paired my phone with the stereo and it wasn't working correctly, did forget this device. Found out it was a problem with the radio. Now it's fixed and my phone won't pair with it again. How can I pair it again?

You will need to put the car stereo back into discovery/pairing mode. That may mean you removing the initial pairing of the device. See the user guide for the radio on how to put the device into discovery/pairing mode, and if necessary, how to remove the original pairing. • Adding bluetooth capability to eMac w/o

I'm looking to add bluetooth capability to my eMac that didn't come with bluetooth installed. I added an airport card by myself, and it was fairly straightforward. Is there such a thing as a "Bluetooth card" that can be installed internally, or is my only possible option a USB dongle?

All you need to do is to buy a BlueTooth dongle, for about £10, which just plugs in to a USB port and you are BT activated. But unless it is the D-Link one that Apple recommends, it may not work with a headset, though it works OK syncing with and transferring files to and from a digital camera.

  • Restoring a Bluetooth Capability to my Satellite

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837.  As purchased, it came with software that provided it a Bluetooth capability.
Later, in an attempt to save disc space, I deleted the Bluetooth software.  Now I have a new cell phone with a camera.  To download pictures from that camera, a Bluetooth connection is needed.  Is there any way that I can restore a Bluetooth capability to my Toshiba Satellite laptop?
    Thanks.

The specs for your machine do not mention Bluetooth capability. However, I did find a Bluetooth driver for your machine using Windows Vista that you can try at your own risk.  It is linked below:

  • Is there anyway to pair a iOS7 i-phone with a bluetooth capable VW Passat?

I've just bought a 60 plate VW Passat which is Bluetooth capable. It doesn't allow me to pair my i-phone 5 with iOS7 to it. I have reset the Multi Functional Display in my car to Factory Settings, and have deleted any paired devices with my i-phone. It still cannot pair the two. Is ther any way to do so?

    Turn key on.
On the iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth.
The phone should simply discover it, I believe the car is always in pairing mode.  If not, it's under setup in the MFI.

  • Will the iphone 5 have better Bluetooth capability?

All current iPhones are very limited.  Specifically my car will notify me of new SMS and read SMS out loud with most smart phones but not with any iPhone because of their limited Bluetooth file transfer capability.  I've seen lots of posts complaining that phones from 2004 had better Bluetooth functionality.  Are Apple going to do anything to address this?  I'm guessing not.

I think it's pretty good now:

I don't think that's the problem, I think it's some bug in the Verizon system, maybe it has to do with Java and the fact I use a mac.  I could read your reply without even logging in.  I can read all the other replies by logging in.   Only one reply results in the statement "access denied, you don't have sufficient privileges for that."    Can you access this reply and if it is not too long tell me what it is?  The author of this reply is jmw1950 (bronze contributor II).

  • TV has no bluetooth capability

    Hi
I have a D3X which I bought primarily for listening to music through my iphone, and very happy I am with that.
I would like to connect my TV with the speaker as well, but my TV does not have Bluetooth capabilities. Firstly, if I buy an optical audio cable with a 3.5mm jack at one end and connect the two, will it work? Assuming it will, if I then buy a second D3X will this work as well? What I'm asking is does the TV need to talk to both speakers (which it can't as I can only connect one via a cable) or does the second speaker talk wirelessly to the first? Can anyone foresee a problem with what I'm suggesting?
Many thanks in advance for your help, and apologies if it's a stupid question!

    Hello Masterhodge,
Haven't tried this personally but stumbled in one of the tweet's from Creative's twitter page. The guy wants the same set up as yours. Here's a screen shot. See the reply.

  • Bluetooth-capable KVM switch?

Searching the net I have noticed that the request for a smart BT KVM switch (keyboard/mouse/trackpad pairs with switch, not with computer, so you can control multiple computers with one wireless keyboard/mouse/touch setup) has been around for at least five years. I can of course re-ask that question, but I probably get the same negative answer.
That makes me wonder, how come nobody has been able to get such a device to the market?

IOGear has one - but it is a crappy mouse/keyboard combo. Simply put a wireless bluetooth dongle on the back of your KVM switch and use any mouse/keyboard you want.

  • Adding Bluetooth Capability?

Can I add a Bluetooth Module to my Pavillion G7-1312NR laptop running on an AMD processor?  I'm looking for an internal one, not one that takes up a USB port.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02834058/c02834058.pdf
Because your PC has an AMD processor, you cannot add a separate bluetooth module.
Your only option would be to replace your current wireless card with a supported wireless/bluetooth combo card listed in the service manual in Chapter 3, pages 26 & 27.
You can only purchase one of the wireless cards listed in the manual, and it must have the HP part number on it, or it will not work.
Please pay particular attention to the fact that some cards only work with AMD or Intel based processors as noted in the manual.
