Bluetooth connectibility for hands-free headset

With the introduction of iOS 4.3, is it possible to connect a bluetooth headset with either the iPad1 or iPad2?

The following page that list the BT profiles has not been revised. The Users Guide for iOS 4.3/iPad 2 reference that article. However, you can now tether an iPad (w/iOS 4.3) to a iPhone to get an internet connection (if you have the tethering plan for the phone) and that is not discussed in the article.

Some users have reported that they have gotten a BT headset to pair with an iPad. Most headsets use the Hands Free Profile which the iPad does not support. You need one with the A2DP profile.

  • Nokia x6 bluetooth connection to hands free kit

    Hi
Hoping someone can help me.  Have just got my new X6 and its great except that i am having problems with my connection to my bluetooth car kit.  It connects fine and has paired with it but it seems to disconnecting every 25 seconds or so and then reconnecting 25 seconds later.  Its driving me bananas cos each time it does it the radio cuts out. If i am on a call it seems to keep connection.  I fell i may have missed a setting somewhere but cant find anything about this.  Can anyone tell me what to do??

Possibly contact your dealer, I work in the motor trade, and most manufacturers can update the sofware for their bluetooth systems for newer phones, it could be a compatibility problem, the handsfree set will have been built before the phone !
If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

  • Recommend BT dongle that supports HSP (hands free-headset) profile?

Can anyone recommend a third-party Bluetooth USB dongle that does support the HSP profile for hands-free headsets?
I recently bought the Kensington USB Bluetooth 2.0 (model# 33348) dongle and it sadly doesn't support HSP profile. I'm ******.

HSP is not supported on the Mac. You are looking for the HS (Headset) Bluetooth profile. You should go for a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth USB adapter for this. Do not go for a DBT-122.

  • 3G iphone cannot support video call & bluetooth only can for hand free

Hai... So suprise that the 3G iphone was below expectation. What a disappointment. They cannot even support 3G Video call and worst of all the blue tooth can only be used for hand free.
The software engineer should look at way to develop a more advance software and use.
    Problem encounter:
    1. We cannot copy and paste our text.
    2. Cannot scroll back to the last function we can only press the short cut key to get back to the main page and start all over again.
    3. 3G phone that cannot make 3G call
    4. Bluetooth function can only use to connect to hand free not able to send photo, music and etc...
    5. Cannot forward SMS
Here is some of the pointer. I have not fully explore the hp. totally disappointed and thing there is more. Hopefully more software update will solve this problems.

    Hi everyone!
Just a quick update here, but about two days since my original post, I've made a visit to the AT&T store with my dad, even though AT&T has nothing to do with the phone itself.  Then the AT&T service employee told us that a hard reset should do the trick.  Then before I did a full backup and restoration of my iPhone software, my dad called AT&T with no luck.  He also attempted to call Apple, but without success, b/c the phone was out of warranty.
So, as a last resort option, I performed a backup and did a full reset of the iPhone using iTunes to restore the phone back to where it was since the last iOS update, and the last iCloud backup.  The result:  it was worth the option because the whole phone's WiFi and Bluetooth got malfunctioned sometime few days ago and after that iOS 6.1.3 restoration, I got both the WiFi and the Bluetooth functions working properly!
The next time any iPhone user comes up with this same situation as mine in the earlier post, don't try visiting the AT&T store b/c they won't help with anything with the phones themselves, and backup and restore the whole iPhone as a last resort when every easy solution fails.

  • What's the best way to connect latest iphone to 2010 Mini CooperS  for hands free

What is the best way to connect the latest iphone to a 2010 mini Cooper S for hands free operation?

Does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of hardware I should purchase to do this? Basically, I want a jam-up iTunes server that serves everything to each device (sorry, should have worded it this way sooner! . Maybe a MacMini server would do it? Or possibly just a Mac Mini or would Time Capsule do something like this?
i use an old G4 Mac Mini running 10.5 Leopard, and it's on 24/7
it runs in headless mode (ie no monitor) and i remotely administer it using remote desktop (or logmein if i'm out the house).
i have a 1TB WD Mybook hanging off it connected via Firewire and that stores all my itunes content.

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.

  • Different Bluetooth connections for phone and music streaming

Can I have different Bluetooth connections for phone and music streaming functions on my 4s? If I can is there a way that the will automatically select (remember) the proper bluetooth receiver?

TDMA interference, and is a type of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) unique to GSM mobile phones. It affects all GSM mobile phones, but is not harmful to you or your electronics. It is just an audible indicator of network activity.
GSM mobile phones generate this interference when they communicate with the cellular network. You don't need to be actively using the phone, as it constantly accessing the network to check signal strength, synchronize the clock, or perform other network-related tasks. The only way to stop this interference is to turn off the phone or its network capabilities. For example, by using Airplane Mode.

  • HT204368 Using iPhone 4S in car for hands-free calling

I am having real trouble using my iPhone 4 S to make hands-free calls from the car. The combined earpiece and microphone I have always used without problem on my Nokia keeps getting silly results with Siri!
I just want to be able to make and receive calls using my Contacts List, and get Siri to recognise my voice when I ask for someone on the Contact list!
If I say I want to speak to 'Stephen Farley' it will come back with 'I don't see Stephen Bali in your contact list'!
Maybe I am doing something wrong?!
Also, will the 'voice regonition' work if Siri isn't working because it's out of contact with the internet?
I just need a simple connnection to my Contact List, without all the fancy options of Siri  - which are just a pain!
    Any help gratefully received!

I have one of those stereos bought from Ebay, no badge, no name, and with multitude of functions, and a mic attached to my visor. Once it is paired with Iphone, all my music and calls go through the car stereo.
for applications that do not direct Audio through BT such as CoPilot (GPS navigation) I connect the Iphone through headset socket and into the stereo AUX input and works great (all sounds, voice, calls) go through it. One disadvantage of this method is that I can't listen to the radio. Well you cannot have it all. Or perhaps there is a Radio application where it plays in the background while I still use my GPS application.

  • Symbian^3 Bluetooth Connectivity for Navigation

    Does anyone know
    how I can switch my C7or N8
to get navigation commands over Bluetooth
to the Car Hands Free Kit,
like it works for Phone Calls?
The new CarMode App just has big Icons,
    but not the necessary functionality
and is therefore senseless Memory load.

    @aspergerguy
You are right, I referred to Car Mode without MirrorLink.
You are right, Car Mode with MirrorLink might be designed for Cable Connection.
You are right, nobody at Nokia seems to have the slightest look on Users need.
Many others and me are right, when we say,
it is IMPORTANT to get NAVIAGTION COMMANDS over BLUETOOTH
as well as Music over BLUETOOTH.
    It is a simple function,
    simple to desgin
with priority configuration by the user,
    in a simple menue and
for much comfort to the user and
    necessary for traffic security.
It is nothing new, while its included in older nokia handsets.
Its just to ignore what many users need.
Do you know how we could have that with priority at nokias list?

  • Muffled speaker for hands free and music

I'm having problems with my iPhone 4S speakers. Music sounds muffled and my hands free function can't be heard. Callers complain they can't hear me. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes the iPhone4 is listed for my model as equiped.  It does not have all the functionality such as uploading contacts but the hands free should work.  My Subaru service depart verified there was no software update listed for my navigation system for using the iPhone4.  A quick google of iPhone and bluetooth returns a significant number of message threads.  That includes a thread on the Apple forums that is now up to 44 pages.  It is not an isolated issue with just Subaru.
I made an appointment at an Apple store today and after describing the problem they replaced the phone a second time.  So far during one phone call there were no issues.  I have yet to restore a backup so I don't have any contacts or applications on it yet.  I will try it for about a while to see if the problem occurs again.  If there are no issues I might try loading stuff back on it progressively to determine if it might be a software issue.  I shouldn't be dealing with this mess.  It is a serious pain in the *** and I have better things to do with my time.  If I knew before hand I have this kind of problem I wouldn't be using a mobile phone with an apple on it.

  • My new birthday present (i-phone 4s) does not sync with my 2011 CRV navigation..is there any way the service tech at Honda can set this up for hands free usage?  It is very frustrating to not be able to use this phone like my cheaper old phone.

My new birthday present of an i-phone 4s, can not be synced with the navigation of my 2011 Honda CRV.  Can anyone give us hints on what to do, as the Honda dealership can not enable the phone to work with hands free.  Help, this is very frustrating as the old cheap phone, worked perfect.  Apple did not make this a user friendly product for cars.

Start by reading the User's Guide which will provide details for how to pair the device with other bluetooth devices.  This may also require reading the Owner's Manual for the vehicle to find out how to put it into pairing mode.

  • Xperia M4 Dual auto SIM selection for hands-free calls

When using my hands-free kit in my car to dial a number, I have to select which SIM I want to use from the phone screen, which is dangerous and not really hands-free. How could I configure the phone so it dials from the same SIM when I'm using a Bluetooth hands-free kit ? I had this on my previous two dual-SIM phones that were not Sony... Thanks for helping.

I exact problem - you can not choose which SIM card to use to make calls, especially when I'm driving. I need to unlock my phone, select SIM card to make the call ... Is there any job application that can make the choice of default SIM card?

The 6680 phone fails to operate through the car hands-free unit (amplified speaker + mike). The phone remains in normal mode for receive/call.
The cable connection (plug and cradle is OK) as the phone charges when connected.
    Grateful for some comments/help.
    MikeS

try disconnecting the conector from the bottom of the cradle and plugging into bottom of the phone, i this works then you have either a dodgy cradle or a poor conncetion, this connector is easily knocked out of place. Has this kit been working ok previously or have you just aquired it.
