The PC Suite has connected to my Phone but when I want to Syncronise I get a Warning meesage that advises me to ensure my phone is in the standby mode and retry. My phone is in the standby mode but I still get the message.

my nokia 62301i is getting connected from my PC via bluetooth and other devices but PC Suite is unable to find Nokia 6230i to connect via bluetooth!
Must be a PC Suit Failure!
    Needs help!
    Thanks.

    I have the same issue.
I'm trying to use PC suite (downloaded from nokia site as the proper one for 6230i rel 7) connecting 6230i via bluetooth. Pc and phone are "associated" but when i launch the PC suite I get an error message: "It is not possible to recognize the phone".
I read a lot of post but nobody seems to have solved the issue!
From Bluetooth application I can read files on pc ... so che bluetooth connection seems to work properly; it appears as a PC suite bug .. really boring!
Nokia team can help us ?

  • 6230i Bluetooth connectivity problems

    Sorry for long posting...
I have recently purchased a 6230i to replace my 6310i.
I previously used a CA-42 USB cable for the 6310i but that is reported by the 6230i as incompatible - grrh.
And now I am trying to set up the Bluetooth connectivity.
I have (eventually) managed to get the 6230i paired to my Laptop using a Belkin USB Bluetooth and the Belkin software running on WinXP (IBM T41 laptop). PC Suite runs but seems to be a little unreliable over Bluetooth - will address that by sourcing a DKU-2 cable.
However, I have problems with pairing the 6230i with my Sony HBH-600 headset (works perfectly with 6310i) I can get the 6230i to discover the headset either by searching for audio enhancements or by setting up a new pair, however it always fails to set up the connection (never asks for passkey).
Similarly I cannot get my Ipaq 5550 to pair with the 6230i. I can start the pairing from the Ipaq which finds the 6230i but the 6230i never acknowledges the pairing attempt which then fails. If I start the pairing process from the 6230i it finds the Ipaq and attempts to pair but never asks to setup a passkey - the Ipaq does not seems to receive the pairing attempt.
I have set the auto connect option to yes and no with no difference.
    Any suggestions ?
Needless to say all this worked perfectly with the 6310i.

    Further to original post
The Bluetooth connectivity all works between the IBM T41, Ipaq 5550, Sony HBH600 headset and a Nokia 6810 phone.
So the problem appears to be the Nokia 6230i phone.
Further research gives some rather disapointing information.

If you have problems performing pairing between an iPAQ 1940/2210 and the Nokia 6230 and continually get an error similar to "Cannot pair devices for security reasons" then it's related to the problem outlined in that document.
This is a Hardware issue and not a software issue related to the WIDCOMM BTW-CE Product. There are two types of keys that can be used for pairing:
    - Combination keys
    - Unit keys
The key type that is used is pre-set in the Bluetooth Radio Firmware. The WIDCOMM BTW-CE Bluetooth software
does not control this setting. The radio on the iPAQ 1940 uses unit keys by default. These Nokia phones reject the use of unit keys in pairing because it is not as secure as combination keys.
Users of older HP iPAQ models should check the HP Drivers page for the latest OS or Bluetooth software for their devices.
I note that my Ipaq is older than the two models mentioned and that my headset is 16 months old. So it looks as if the 6230i is going back - stupid no backwards compatibility.
thanks to Geekzone for the info.

  • 6230i bluetooth connectivity

    Greetings
My bluetooth says that it is on but there is no icon in the top left corner. I have taken the battery out and rebooted it is now stuck on off. I also took the memmory card out and out it back again. I have been reading posts on this subject, so it seems a common problem. The bluetooth has worked intermitently in the past I am just not sure what series of keys I tried to get it to work. PTT may have something to do with this.

I have been to my service provider for help and a few other cell phone repair places but nobody seems to be able to fix this. It has been suggested that the phone is sent back to Nokia since it is 8 months old and under warranty but 6 weeks is too long for me to be without a phone. Any suggestions?
    Thank you

well, it does and it doesnt
it all comes down to what your headet and your pc want to use.
sosul is quite correct, the 6230i does not support multiple bluetooth connections. however, if you have two devices that require different profiles you may be able to connect.
now maybe is a keyword here, the other is battery life - it will drop v fast.
a lot of nokia's newer phones can support multiple connections though.

  • Bluetooth connection problem with nokia 6230i

Hi I am having troubles establishing a Bluetooth connection between my Nokia 6230i and my Dell Latitude laptop running on Windows XP SP2 when trying to use Nokia PC Suite. When using the nokia suite connection wizard it establishes a connection for a fraction of a second and then disconnects.
The following information may be useful??
    Windows XP Pro SP2
    Nokia PC Suite 6.5.12
    Microsoft BT Stack 5.1.2600.2180
WIDCOMM BT Stack 3.0.1 build 803
    Can any one help please??
    Thanks

You could try uninstalling the Widcomm Bluetooth and relying only on Microsoft + PC Suite 6.6.18 from http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite

  • C3-00 Failed bluetooth connection

After quite a bit of fiddling around , I successfully got my C3 to connect reliably via Bluetooth and sync with Ovi. It's been working well for about a month ?
I connected tonight and performed a sync and backup. Closed OVI..all looked good. A while later I wanted to re connect and the bluetooth connection failed saying the pairing needed to be  ' updated ' ? I wasn't sure what that meant , so I thought I would delete the pairing and re ad it.
When I try to do that  via the phone , my computer shows up but when I try to ad it as a paired device , it fails.
If I scan using the computer , the phone also appears in the bluetooth list , but when I try do connect I receive a 'generic ' error msg:
Adding the device failed due to an authentication error. It might be due to the use of an incorrect pairing code......"
I don't see a prompt to enter a pairing code ( as I did originally when I first connected successfully ). Not sure what to try next ? Will restoring my back also restore my pairing ,  or do I need to do a reset and start from scratch ?
    TIA

  • Bluetooth on 6230i disconnects by itself after PC ...

I am using PC Suite 6.84.10.3
I connect a 6230i to my notebook on XP Pro SP 2
    I use Toshisba Bluetooth connection
I only recently (last 2 months) update PC Suite.
Everything works great. I can use PC Suite for messages, file transfers etc etc.
But if I use Nokia PC Sync (to Outlook 2003), then after 60 seconds, the phone disconnects bluetooth. My notebook still has the icons in the system tray that look like it is still active.
When the PC sync is scheduled to sync again. It fails as it thinks it is connected, but it isnt. The attempt to sync does activate the pairing but nor soon enough as PC Sync fails. Then after 60 seconds, the phone disconnects.
If I use other PC Suite functions, it reconnects, and stays connected, until the next PC Sync. Then because it is connected, the sync works but after the sync & 60 seconds its disconnects.
    Please help

No its not normal and it has only started to happen recently, I never had this problem before.
As for the idle state, I endeavour to put it in this after a sync. This is another bugbear with Nokia, why have a scheduling sync process where after a successful sync the phone is not in a state to do another sync???!??!??!

  • Bluetooth connectivity again....

I add myself to the list of people having trouble with their Bluetooth connection.
I haven't been able to solve my problem by scanning throug this forum.
I can't connect to my 6230i with my Trust BT120 Bluetooth USB adapter.
The odd thing is that the driver installs ok. I can transfer files to and from the phone. When I try to use Nokia PC-suite then I don't get anything when trying to configure the Bluetooth connection. The program finds nothing.
    Any suggestions????

  • Nokia C5-03/Win7 Bluetooth connectivity problem

When I am trying to connect Nokia Ovi Suite to my phone using Bluetooth, the pairing process seems to succeed, except the last phase: Then I receive a message that the connection did not succeed. The wizard gives then a possibility to try again with a different ID but it fails every time.
It is the same problem if I try to pair the phone from computer's Bluetooth icon in the notification area. However, with using my laptop with XP this succeeds. Therefore I believe that my phone is OK but there is something wrong with my Bluetooth software in Win 7 computer. Nokia Ovi Suite lists it:
    - Microsoft (Version: 6.1.7600, subversion: 16385)
When I start the computer, the Event Viewer shows the following error:
"The Bluetooth driver expected an HCI event with a certain size but did not receive it."
    Source: BTHUSB
    EventID: 5
The Microsoft's "Event Log Online Help" onthat window does not suggest anything.
However, this may be the actual reason for the problems but I do not know how to fix it.
I have tried Microsoft's "Fix it" tool but it did not fix this problem.
    Any ideas what to do?

    Still the same problem.
Now I installed the Nokia PC Suite and I tried to make a bluetooth connection to it.
Everything goes again well except after the last phase when I give the asked pin number in my phone, the computer ponders a while and shows then a window with the text that the phone cannot be verified.

  • How do I connect my Centro to the Internet via bluetooth over PC's Internet? Where is Centro's PPP Connection Type? How do I setup Login Script for bluetooth connection?

I am trying to set up bluetooth on the Centro to connect to the internet via my PC's internet.
    HotSync over bluetooth works successfully.
Computer specs: Toshiba P205-S6277; Bluetooth Stack v5.10.04 (currently using); Bluetooth Monitor v3.01 (to use Vista's built-in bluetooth)
I think I have narrowed my problem down to 3 things.
    (1) Finding Network Access properties (to allow connected devices to access the internet)
    (2) Finding Centro's Network Connection Type: PPP
    (3) Finding the correct Login Script to use
for (1) I think I've looked everywhere; found nothing on Network Access.
Checked control panel: only Bluetooth Local COM
Right-clicked bluetooth icon > Settings: File transfer, PAN Networking, PAN DHCP server, AV controls. Other bluetooth settings are for file transfer or object push. I don't see anything like this.
I'm stumped on (2). It seems as if palm removed this option under Centro's Advanced network settings .
Nearly all the forums that I read says to choose Connection Type: PPP.
    (3) Found 2 scripts that seemed would work. I don't know how it exactly works but it sounds workable.
    First script:
    Send: CLIENT
    Send: CLIENT
    Wait for: CLIENTSERVER
    End:
    Script 1 Connect Log:
    =======================================
    Connect Log
    S: client
    S: client
    R:
    Err: 0x121F   <<<netErrUserCancel b/c I canceled it.
    Not connected
    ========================================
I canceled it because the process would stay on "Signing In" then it automatically "Canceled" itself.
    Second script:
    Send CR:
    Delay: 1
    Send: CLIENT
    Wait For: CLIENTSERVER
    End
**UPDATE** I found on this forum (Reply # 3689) that the script is needed only if you are using Palm OS 4 or under. Centro uses Palm OS 5.49121. Can anyone support this?
Even without the script it has problems "Signing In".
I'm currently reading this site and trying out its decribed methods. I will update this thread when I get the results.
I'm using the Centro. And If anyone's been able to successfully connect to the internet on the Centro via a bluetooth connection to the PC WITHOUT 3rd party applications, please share.  If not, please share any ideas.
    Thanks!

I've been going at this for days, and have probably exhausted all the proposed solutions on the first 3 pages of various google searches. I'm getting the feeling that Vista users are pretty much SOL for the time being.
For the record, I just tried out a few of the solutions (mRouter & SoftickPPP) on XP and they work perfectly.

  • Bluetooth connection fails iOS 8.1

My iPhone5s cannot make a Bluetooth connectivity with any of my Macs(MBA mid-2013, iMac late-2012, MacPro) all running Yosemite 10.10. Prior to upgrading to Yosemite the same iPhone running on iOS 7 did make successful bluetooth connectivity. My iPhone5s is on 8.1. Surprising even though it cannot have connectivity, it sees and stay connected for a second or two and then will say "Not Connected". But the same phone connects with Blueant S4 handsfree Speakerphone - except that I have to make a connection each time. In the past, it used to connect automatically when I was in the range of my device.
Yes, I have tried reset PRAM, SMC resets on my Macs, powered OFF and ON my iPhone5s and even reset my NW connection. In addition, I have other iPhones in my family and none can make connection to Macs which run on Yosemite(tried 4s, 5 and even 6). But the same iPhones make successful BT on Macs running Mavericks and Mountain Lion(yes one MBP still exists). So I am guessing it is changes in Yosemite that is causing the problem. Because I am going through this problem - my family members who have Macs do not want to upgrade to Yosemite as they depend on BT connectivity for their external devices. I don't blame them, but sounds very silly to me that Apple messed up big time with BT connectivity. I see many reporting similar issues, but for many resetting PRAM and/or SMC they have been successful.
Any help would be appreciated. Again I am not referring to Handoff (which it is working for me) but I am interested in BT connectivity with Yosemite. This is important because external BT devices need to be connected(Headphones, Earbuds etc).

I went to the Apple store yesterday because I was having the same issue in my Honda Accord after I updated to iOS 8.1.1.  The very helpful rep there suggested that I go to Settings -> General -> Reset on my phone to reset my iPhone 5 General Settings.  She said that it's like an oil change for the phone that cleans out a lot of the junk.  After doing this, I was able to stream both my music and Pandora in my car again.
Note:  When you reset the General Settings, you will lose your phone password and background image (not a big deal).  You will NOT lose your pictures, video or emails.
    Hope that helps!
