Bluetooth Connection Failure for Kodak P500

I have tried setting up through the bluetooth setup assistant, it finds the printer but then says "configuration failed. An appropriate drive for that printer could not be located".
I have installed the drivers and the printer works when connected via USB.
I have the Kodak EasyShare photo printer 500.
I hope someone can assist in a possible solution for this matter.

I am in the same boat, trying to set up a Kodak P500 to print via Bluetooth.
The Gutenprint project has a driver for "Kodak Easyshare-Printer-Dock".

The driver works fine with the Kodak P500 over USB.
However, neither Bluetooth Setup Assistant nor Printer Setup Utility will allow you to use it for Bluetooth printing. Bluetooth Setup Assistant recognizes the Kodak P500, but fails saying it can't find a driver. Apple did not provide a way to manually select a driver.
Likewise, Printer Setup Utility sees the printer (grayed out) when More Printers>Bluetooth is selected, but won't let you select it.
I have had similar problems setting up other printers in OS X. I do not understand why there is not always a manual option. On a few occasions I have been able to trick OS X by setting up another printer which uses the same path (USB, IP, etc.) then later changing the printer type (i.e. the driver) with Printer Setup Utilities Get Info window.
So maybe if you can find another Bluetooth printer which OS X will let you set up you can use that to give you an entry in Printer Setup Utility to edit to the Kodak printer. Given Bluetooth's security protocols this probably will not work as it would with a network printer.

How to use a bluetooth connected speaker for iTunes only

Greetings. I have connected the bluetooth speaker to my mac, and can play itunes on it, but I also hear the computer's beeps and notices through this speaker. This detracts from the musical experience, to say the least. Please help.

N96 bluetooth connection failure

For some days now im trying to connect my N96 with pc suite, ovi, pc suite nseries. All gave me the same error "Cannot authenticate the Nokia device". While in the suites the phone it's paired ,that is the passcode was accepted by both sides phone and pc when my pc tries to connect with phone on the phone i get the following "Accept FTP request from COMPUTER" when i press Yes on pc it saws me "Cannot authenticate the Nokia device". Now my phone can connect with my pc with microsoft software and do everything with it i can even set my computer as a headset for my phone. Is this a bug or im doing something terribly wrong. Also i want you to know that there is NO pair/bond/auth on my phone menu for pc suite

thanks for your response. The reason I am accessing a
JDBC source via JCA is to get a feel for how JCA works.
What I ultimately want to do is construct a bean that can
give queries to different kinds of sources; JDBC, and SAP
(R3, CRM), and possibly sources like Siebel. For this, I
believe I should use the Connector Gateway Service, as
described in the "Using the JDBC Connector" and "Using
the SAP Backend System Connector" sections of the SAP
Portal Developer's Guide. But for now, my first approach
was to use the approach described in "Connecting via
J2EE" subsection of "Using the JDBC Connector" (see

E71 bluetooth connection failure

I have a Nokia E71 since 7/2009. Lately I purchased a new car which has a integrated bluetooth device in the instrument panel. After I did all settings in my new car and in my mobile phone I could dial successfully in the car device but after I shut off the main switch and started it again the mobile phone tried to connect but without success. In order to connect it again I had to delete all the settings I did before and to set the systems again from the beginning and then it worked until I shut off again the main switch. I connected another type of mobile phone (Nokia 6500) and it worked perfect.
I appreciate your advice in order to solve this problem/

I read the link you gave, helpful but I can`t find my Desire Bluetooth , `type` of connection, so am really none the wiser.
The phone & Ipad show the same passcode to pair, when verifying this seems fine, just can not connect... really frustrating - any further help really appreciated, or a work around to load the data onto the Ipad??

Bluetooth setup failure for Satellite L500

Greetings,
I just purchased a brand new Toshiba Satellite L500 yesterday. Everything is fine except fo the bluetooth. When I enable it using the FN key, the Vista Auto Setup automatically launches and the installation bar moves slightly and "new device inserted" sounds off and then "device removed" sounds off shortly after it, and then installaion is halted, I waited long but nothing seems to be happening, when I click on cancel, it prompts me that the setup is still running while it is not.
Shall I take my device to the service center or is there any solution I can do it on spot to resolve this issue?

I dont think that you should contact the service center at this time
I mean the guys will try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disk and I think you can do this too without the help from service people.
So if you want, try to recovery the OS and check if you BT would start again.
PS: your should create the Recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disk creator tool!!!

Mail Connection Failures And EWS (Exchange Web Service) Errors

Hi,
I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard on Friday, and was able to set up my Mail, iCal, and Address Book very quickly and easily. Everything has been working great until today, when I experienced an issue with emails with attachments. The company I work for uses Exchange 2007 hosted on Rackspace.
When sending an email with attachments, I sporadically receive a connection error. This is the same error that I usually get if a server goes offline or I lose my Internet connection - the one where you get the choice to either try again, send later, or use another server to send the email. I will receive this error over and over, and can then send an email with attachments a few minutes later without issue, so it is definitely a sporadic problem. I have not had this issue with emails that did not contain attachments. On at least one occasion, an email with attachments was delivered to the recipient successfully but failed to show up in my Sent Items either in Mail or on the Exchange Server's web mail client.
Rackspace was unable to diagnose the issue, but they have had several reports of the same problem. I looked in the console and saw several errors logged by Mail, all which appeared to happen around the same times that I had the connection failures for the messages with attachments.

Just wanted to report this issue in case this is something that other people are experiencing, and to see if Apple's engineers could look in to it. There is a simple workaround, which is to set up a regular SMTP server as the outgoing mail server for the Exchange account, and to use this instead of the outgoing Exchange server set up by Snow Leopard.

Bluetooth connection slowing down Wifi connection

I have seen few discussions here about this topic but I haven't found the right solution to my problem.
So each time I turn on the Bluetooth connection the wifi connection becomes really slow. I am using the Bluetooth connection mostly for my external keyboard.
I am using Maverick 10.9.2 OS.
I read somewhere that the problem occurs because of the frequency range that my wifi and bluetooth are using, currently both are using 2.4 Ghz.
However, I am not able to change the frequency from my pocket wifi router (from 2.4 to 5 Ghz) which could solve the problem.
Any ideas, is there any other solution to this problem?
I guess I could just buy a USB keyboard instead Bluetooth but it's not ideal.

Unfortunately, it's a problem that's been going on for years (at least 4) and I've yet to find a satisfactory answer.
It shouldn't be a problem with the 2.4GHz range - but you could always test this, of course, by purchasing a dual band router. I have one of the 5th generation Apple Extreme's and it works quite well (though, if I were buying now, I would upgrade to the newest AE).
My only other suggestion would be to take your MacBook Pro into your local Apple Store and see if they know how to fix the problem.

I receive secure connection failure if I try accessing certain websites

I have been trying to access certain websites and I keep getting secure connection failure for about a week now. When I try using other browsers they don't work either. I tried most of the troubleshooting methods mention here but its still persists. Below are the screenshots of the message I receive and the browser console error message.

Strangely, I noticed a couple of https sites I had trouble logging into from a link inside a https site.
In System Preferences I went to Accouns and for myself unchecked "Enable parental controls".
I was then able to log onto the the https site.

How do I connect my Centro to the Internet via bluetooth over PC's Internet? Where is Centro's PPP Connection Type? How do I setup Login Script for bluetooth connection?

I am trying to set up bluetooth on the Centro to connect to the internet via my PC's internet.
HotSync over bluetooth works successfully.
Computer specs: Toshiba P205-S6277; Bluetooth Stack v5.10.04 (currently using); Bluetooth Monitor v3.01 (to use Vista's built-in bluetooth)
I think I have narrowed my problem down to 3 things.
(1) Finding Network Access properties (to allow connected devices to access the internet)
(2) Finding Centro's Network Connection Type: PPP
(3) Finding the correct Login Script to use
for (1) I think I've looked everywhere; found nothing on Network Access.
Checked control panel: only Bluetooth Local COM
Right-clicked bluetooth icon > Settings: File transfer, PAN Networking, PAN DHCP server, AV controls. Other bluetooth settings are for file transfer or object push. I don't see anything like this.
I'm stumped on (2). It seems as if palm removed this option under Centro's Advanced network settings .
Nearly all the forums that I read says to choose Connection Type: PPP.
(3) Found 2 scripts that seemed would work. I don't know how it exactly works but it sounds workable.
First script:

**UPDATE** I found on this forum (Reply # 3689) that the script is needed only if you are using Palm OS 4 or under. Centro uses Palm OS 5.49121. Can anyone support this?

I'm currently reading this site and trying out its decribed methods. I will update this thread when I get the results.
I'm using the Centro. And If anyone's been able to successfully connect to the internet on the Centro via a bluetooth connection to the PC WITHOUT 3rd party applications, please share. If not, please share any ideas.

I've been going at this for days, and have probably exhausted all the proposed solutions on the first 3 pages of various google searches. I'm getting the feeling that Vista users are pretty much SOL for the time being.
For the record, I just tried out a few of the solutions (mRouter & SoftickPPP) on XP and they work perfectly.

After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones. The headphones work fine with other devices. I haven't moved to ios7 yet. Any ideas?

After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones. The headphones work fine with other bluetooth devices. I haven't moved to iOS7 yet. Any ideas?

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.

Bluetooth Connection with Car - Ipod plays automatically for some reason?!?

When I start my car (Ford Fiesta), the Bluetooth connects fine to my Iphone, but for some reason the Ipod also starts to play the last track played? This is really annoying because not only does it affect my battery life when I forget, but I also lose my place if I've been listening to an audiobook. Can anyone help please??!!

Using My N73's Bluetooth connection as adapter for...

Hey guys,
This is not a question that can be put into one sentence...
I shall put it as short and descriptive as possible.
I can connect my laptop to the internet using the Built-in Modem I have in my laptop (Dial-Up).
My brothers laptop is new, He does not have a Modem built in and I do not have any other hardware here.
I was thinking, Is it possible to Have the following setup
Dial-Up -> Laptops Modem -> N73's Bluetooth connection -> Brothers Bluetooth connection (on his laptop) -> Internet.
So actualy making a Networking Bridge from My Laptops Modem to the Bluetooth of my N73.
(I could maybe buy a Lan Cable somewhere here and make a Networking Bridge between the Modem and the Lan port, but only if this is not possible whatsoever.)

This has been a while, and I am back home now.
What I ment is what I said, I never mentioned my laptop having a Bluetooth connection nor using my telephone as a modem. I said that I wanted to use my Laptop as Modem and my brothers laptop as the client connection through bluetooth to my telephone wich in his way would be just a bluetooth adapter for my laptop. Now I figured that out myself and I had Dial-Up Internet on both laptops.
Since It worked I am going to ask another question hoping that you guys will just say I don't know instead of It's not possible.
How do I configure my N73 to become my laptops Bluetooth Adapter so I can connect any bluetooth device to my laptop.
(saves me 20 euros, but that is not the point)
