Bluetooth connection/ipod music question...

Scenario... If I am using my iPhone as an iPod in my vehicle (with a cable connected to the blade connection), it seems to shut off the Bluetooth connectivity to the car audio system. Is this normal? Shouldn't I be able to play it as an iPod and still receive incoming calls?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

iPhone do not have a line out through the charging/cable end.(If that's what you're referring to).
Are you sure of that?
The pinouts are the same.

Further, Apple sells this device:

That specifically mentions line out thru the docking port.

  • Bluetooth Connectivity + Lemon Law Question

I have an Early 2013 15" MacBook Pro with Retina and while using it, it unexpectedly drops all bluetooth connections and dispalys this symbol:
It seems to be an intermittent issue and I've been to the Apple store twice for it;  The first time they ran a hardware diagnostics and it passed everything there.  They reset the PRAM and did a software diagnostics and rebuilt the operating system to repair a few missing things.  They then advised me to upgrade to Mavericks because I had downgraded to Mountain Lion due to issues with SMB and my heavy reliance on access to my NAS.
Fast forward a little and I've upgraded to Mavericks same issue.  I'm using the computer and my first thought is the mouse is out of batteries.  Turn it over and it's still green so I look up in the menu bar same icon.  It's worth noting when this happens the computer completely locks up and you have to reboot it to get it back.  Take it back to the Apple store, they do their diagnostics and reset the PRAM, etc.  They tell me my Mavericks installation is corrupt so they rebuild it.  They tell me if it happens again to try doing a complete wipe and recovery via internet for Mavericks.  It happened again. Did the wipe and internet recovery and everything was fine until this morning when it happened again.
I have AppleCare on this computer and ironically Apple has been very hands off on this issue.  It's barely a year old and has been in service 4-5 times for various issues. I'm curious if anyone else is having this issue and/or if anyone has had experience with having a computer replaced under either a lemon law or policy at Apple? My real concern here is that they are going to bandaid and string this issue along like they've done so far and then when the warranty drops out I'm going to be stuck with a huge bill as it snowballs and plumes into a major issue.
The Apple Store advised me that I could send it out and they could do a hardware diagnostic on it, but they said the chances of finding anything were slim as there's no issues showing up in any of their hardware or software tests and I really can't afford to be without my machine as I use it for work.

    Another update (more symptoms):
Today the computer, while in use, has began to randomly turn off (as if it's going to sleep) when connected to my Cinema display.  When I unhook everything, pull it out from the desk and open it the screen comes on and everything else is locked up.  The only way to make the computer functional again is to reboot it at which time you receive a message that the computer was shutdown because of a problem.  The bluetooth issue described above has happened twice today already and this current issue has now happened four times.
Called AppleCare again and spoke to a senior advisor and first she tried to attribute it to a hardware issue and setup an repair.  During the process of setting up the repair, she said it is now a software issue and had me verify the hard disk and repair it.  She then asked me to create a new partition and reload Mavericks onto it to see if I could reproduce the issue but this was going to take upwards of three hours.
Anyone else experiencing anything in this ballpark?

  • Bluetooth Connectivity For Music With Speakers

I have altec Lansing bluetooth speakers.
They work with lots of old phones playing music over bluetooth.
I've unpaired and deleted all old pairings with the speakers.
My 8520 connects to the IMT525 speakers fine.
It even has sound WHEN MAKING A PHONE CALL But as soon as i try to play a music file there is no sound from the speakers.
Only sound on the phone itself.
I have tried to 'Activate IMT525' whilst in the media/music player. that gives no error BUT STILL NO MUSIC PLAYED on the speakers.
Is there some special bluetooth setting i need to make?
again to re-itterate...it all seems to work with no error messages...just no sound from PLAYING MUSIC ONLY

  • ITunes & iPod music question?

So I got a new iPod (4th gen if that matters) and I have over 3 thousands songs including over hour long mixes so it takes a LONG time to put all the songs on my ipod. I've been at this for like 3 days nows (putting music on my iPod) and i've just hit a wall. I didn't sync my ipod to put on all the music that I have on it already, i just Shift+A all the music in the library then drag & dropped it on the ipod. But now it stopped working? (fml) So I was looking what was wrong and noticed i wasn't syncing with my iTunes. I'm only a few songs (800+) short of having all my music on my iPod. So I was wondering if I tried syncing with my iTunes will all the music already on there be deleted & the process restarted? I don't want that. ._. takes too long. any other solution?

Ok. Does that script work instantly? I waited a bit and then when I clicked in itunes, Script Editor told me something like "Itunes had an object error".
Then I checked and there are 3110 checked songs in my itunes library and only 2696 on my ipod. Why is this?

  • Z30 and JBL Synchros Reflect BT Sport bluetooth connection problem - lagging

Hi,  I purchased a JBL Synchros Reflect BT Sport bluetooth headset, connects well to Z30, but my problem that if I put the phone next to me and I am moving next to the phone (like in gym) lots of times it looses the bluetooth connection and music is lagging. When I return to the former positition during gym, I heard the music again. Same problem when I have the blackberry in the backback and want to hear it. Sometimes music lagging heavily. I tried the headset on different phones without any problem. Lol, if I put one hand onto the headset and put the other hand between the phone and the headset and move my hand between the phone and the headset, the music starts lagging. The phone is next to me, so no real distance. If I move the phone position (for example face down) the problem stops on that position and start from another position. Maybe the phone does not send the Bluetooth signal well? I guess I have 2 high end product: JBL is not a no name manufacturer as well as the Blackberry. I can expect a professional result. Blackberry Protection is on, music is on the SD, but the phone is encrypted - only phone, not SD - but I dont think this is the source of the problem.
    Thank you!

You need to put the Sennheiser and the Sony into Pairing mode. You may have to reset them if their Pairing memory is full.

I have iTunes on my iPad. I have a new iPod nano. How do I connect iPod to iPad to download iTunes and music library?

    Hi Divine Inspiration,
You wouldn't connect the iPod to the iPad for data transfers. Music is stored and shared either through a computer or iCloud.

  • HT201413 Connected iPod to computer to recharge.  Was told that to syn it on this computer it would delete all data on iPod.  Thinking this mean only music I had on it I ok'd.  Since then iTunes cannot find the iPod.  Help!

Connected iPod to computer.  Started to Syn but came up with if syncing this device may delete saved music.  Accidentally pressed OK.
iPod was originally synced on another old computer no longer in use.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

how to connect iPod Classic to bluetooth dongle?

You would need to make sure the dongle supports the same Bluetooth profiles that are supported by your car's stereo system which is commonly the A2DP profile.  So first figure out what profiles are supported by the car's stereo system.
