Bluetooth connection of PB impossible with Bold 9790

Just got the Bold 9790 (with OS7), and was trying to bridge it to my PB. I was able to pair the two devices, but then they're unable to detect each other.
I tried all possible solutions:
- unpair them and re-pair
- hard reset on both.
Nothing helped.
Anyone had similar issue ?
Thanks

Have the same problem with my HTC desire hd, is paired but cannot connect.

  • Bluetooth connection to multiple devices with the same device name

I just got a new iPhone 4 and am having trouble connecting it to my car's bluetooth. We have two GM vehicles which both have bluetooth. I can connect to one vehicle with no problems, but when I try to connect to the other, the phone tries to connect to the first car since both have the device name of "General Motors". With my old phone, I could change the name of the connection in the phone so that each car had a different name. How do I do this on my iPhone?
    Thanks for the help?

No. It's a limitation of the BlueTooth protocol.

  • No bluetooth connection on MacBook Pro with JBL Flip speaker.

Cannot get bluetooth connection on my MacBook Pro with new JBL Flip speaker.  It is pairing, but not connecting.  Have set it up, but still doesn't work.  JBL says problem is with computer.  Any suggestions?

Hi Carolyn - Thank you for responding, I appreciate the help!
We have a tower, and I don't see an on/off button.  Should I just unhook the power cord from the tower?  We also have the phone line hooked to the tower, should I unhook as well?  I'm assuming the PC is off before I do this?
Then, turn the computer back on?
    Thank you!

  • When booting up, the bluetooth connects and then disconnects with my trackpad 3 or 4 times then i get a gray cover over the desktop that drops from top to bottom then a window that tells me to use the power button to do a forced shutdown.

when booting up, the bluetooth connects and disconnects with my trackpad 3 to 4 times and then i get a gray sheet that drops down from the top to bottom of the desktop then a box in the center that tells me to use the power button to do a forced shutdown. wireless keyboard connects with no problem. went to the apple store and they replaced the bluetooth card. still have the same problem. removed the batteries from the trackpad, strted up and no problem connecting with wireless mouse and keyboard. anyone else experience this?

This could be a software/state problem or a hardware problem.  Here are steps to resolve the former.

Ok, I'm a 3G user and just updated to 3.0,Im pretty excited about the new Bluetooth protocalls.
When I tried to connect to a coworkers blackberry my iPhone reconized it but wouldn't connect,
can anyone tell me why thnx?
So alittle discourged I try to connect with a friends iPhone, and couldn't even found the device.
Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong??

You cannot connect to other phones for things like file sharing. The peer to peer is for apps so you can do things like play games with other iPhones or share data from a supported app to another supported app.

  • Address Book bluetooth connection doesn't work with Nokia N90

I can't set up my Nokia N90 to work with the Address book for bluetooth dialing & sending SMS.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I found this info on the forum.
    1. Check if the isync agent is installed on your phone. If not get go to your application folder/isync. control-click on the icon and choose "show package content". Navigate to /Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevices/Contents/Resources/Agents and drag a copy of AppleSyncAgent-s60v22.sis to your desktop.
    2. Use the bluetooth "send file" option to send that file to your nokia. You will receive a message on the phone. Open that message and install the agent.
    3. Remove your phone from the device list in isync and add it again.
    4. Open address book and click bluetooth. It should connect straight away (no pairing request).
    5. Now sending sms should be enabled.
    6. Open isync and sync your device.

  • If I have a Bluetooth connection from my ipad to a stereo system, will pandora play in stereo

If I have a Bluetooth connection from my iPad with pandora to a stereo system, will pandora's music be in stereo?

    Yes

  • Number of Bluetooth connections?

How many simultaneous bluetooth connections can you have with an iPhone 4?
I've got bluetooth in my car, which I use for hands free. But in order to stream my music through the cars speakers, I need to use another bluetooth device.
So, can I use these together? One connected for phone calls, the other connected for playing music?

I don't know this for a fact, but I would think more than one, because when my phone is connected to my handsfree in the car, it is still searching for other devices... so it's still "available"

  • Re: Bluetooth connection to Desktop Version 6.....

    Hi,
Any update on your problem ?
I am also facing the same and suprise no post since 2010.

Still nothing on my dilemma of no Bluetooth connectivity, still having problems with this 9780. I have successfully connected a 8100, 9000, before it bricked My 9930, but every time I try the 9780 I get a code generated by both the computer and the phone. I am using Windows 7 pro 64 bit, DM 6.1 and BB OS v6.0.0.666. I have also tried BB OS v6.0.0.723 with the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

    Hi,
I have the same problem with my Lenovo T61. Everything was fine in v5.0.1.
I've tried everything I can think of from diagnostics to disable bluetooth, reboot, renable and check DM6, reboot and checkl DB6 but nothing.
No choice now but to rollback and hope for the best.

  • PB Bluetooth can't connect to my Bold 9790

My PB won't connect to my Bold 9790.   Everything was fine until I updated my phone to 7.1.0.523.
When I touch the icon for the phone on my PB bluetooth page, it goes to the screen with the Device Properties, and the "Connect Device" button is at the bottom, but it is grey and nothing happens when I touch it.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Ios 5.0.1 + Iphone 4 bluetooth connection issue with car stereo

My Iphone 4 will not connect with my new JVC car stereo I have spoken to JVC customer support and they say its an Apple issue that they need to fix (changed something with the bluetooth connection scripts in the latest update update, as they have done before).
The phone finds the stereo and then tries to pair with it, however half way through the pairing process the phone losses connection with the stereo and the pairing is then deleted.
I have deleted all the existing pairing in the phone memory and ensured that the stereo has been rebooted to ensure no conflict of previous installs would effect the process
Does anyone know if Apple are going to fix this glitch in a new softwre update (and if so when is it being released) as at the minute i have an expensive stereo which is cant use to its full ability?

Similar problems occured when Apple released iOS 4 last year. It was NOT fixed with an update from Apple. It was fixed by the system vendors and automakers releasing updates for their equipment. There are ongoing complaints from people with some Toyota built cars (Toyota and Lexus) with some systems as well as some BMW drivers.
I'm willing to bet money that the head unit you have is not fully standards compliant. Unfortunately, getting JVC to admit that is going to be nearly impossible. I suspect they will just quietly issue an update sometime in the next few months. Assuming the head unit can be updated by the end user at all.  You may have to resort to an inexpensive visor mount speaker phone in the mean-time.

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!

  • Bold 9790 "Connection Preferences" missing

I bought the Bold 9790 to use UMA access for cell usage from a WiFi connection where there is no cellular service (from any carrier).
You are supposed to be able to set this:
    Bold Connection Preferences
but "Connection Preferences" does not appear on this phone.
I seem to have the right Service Books.
I do pay for the UMA (WiFi) option with Fido.
There is another site that suggests that there is a really painful way to get it going:
    BB UMA Access
There must be a simpler way to get access to "Connection Preferences".
There was a previous posting on this in 2012 that was never answered.

Thank you for your reply. I've learned to always start at the very beginning with the questions so as to not miss anything.
The next thing to investigate is whether you're running the latest version of OS available from Fido. You say you have the necessary service books (though it never hurts to resend them) so now you'll want to make sure you're running a new OS.
Check your phone for OS version then compare it to what Fido currently offers:
http://ca.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html (find Fido in the list)
Have a look at that and post back.
