Bluetooth connection unsuccessful with i phone 6 plus iOS 8.1

I have a MacBook Air Mid 2013 and iPhone 6 plus iOS 8.1.
Bluetooth connection between My MacBook air and iOS 8.1 is unsuccessful.
and i was told that in order to work with handoff i need to sign into iCloud with all my devices and to pair them with bluetooth.
Unfortunately it is not working.
I tried to sign out and re-sign in into iCloud and i tried to turn off bluetooth but its not working.
Can anyone help me Please
Thanks

The iPhone is not designed to pair via Bluetooth to any computer (Mac or otherwise) except for personal hotspot and it will only do that if your cellular plan supports it. Following is a link to bluetooth profiles supported: iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles
If you are trying to pair for Handoff or Continuity, note 2 things: 1- Both devices must have bluetooth turned on and they must be in range of each other, but you do not pair the devices as you would for other bluetooth uses; and 2- Handoff and Continuity do not seem to be working for a large number of people and there is no clear answer that is solving this for them.

  • Ios 5.0.1 + Iphone 4 bluetooth connection issue with car stereo

My Iphone 4 will not connect with my new JVC car stereo I have spoken to JVC customer support and they say its an Apple issue that they need to fix (changed something with the bluetooth connection scripts in the latest update update, as they have done before).
The phone finds the stereo and then tries to pair with it, however half way through the pairing process the phone losses connection with the stereo and the pairing is then deleted.
I have deleted all the existing pairing in the phone memory and ensured that the stereo has been rebooted to ensure no conflict of previous installs would effect the process
Does anyone know if Apple are going to fix this glitch in a new softwre update (and if so when is it being released) as at the minute i have an expensive stereo which is cant use to its full ability?

Similar problems occured when Apple released iOS 4 last year. It was NOT fixed with an update from Apple. It was fixed by the system vendors and automakers releasing updates for their equipment. There are ongoing complaints from people with some Toyota built cars (Toyota and Lexus) with some systems as well as some BMW drivers.
I'm willing to bet money that the head unit you have is not fully standards compliant. Unfortunately, getting JVC to admit that is going to be nearly impossible. I suspect they will just quietly issue an update sometime in the next few months. Assuming the head unit can be updated by the end user at all.  You may have to resort to an inexpensive visor mount speaker phone in the mean-time.

  • Anyone noted Bluetooth connection issues with iPhone 4s and Ford sync?

My wifes iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1 auto connects to Ford Sync at least 75% of the time on first attempt. My new iPhone 4S with IOS 5.0.1 takes 4-5 attempts and rarely if ever connects without multiple attempts. Any one else seeing issues with failed Bluetooth connections with iPhone 4S phones?

Look at the right panel for links to other threads concerning problems with Fords. And it's not just Fords, cars in general.  No solutions seem to be given.

  • Bluetooth connectivity degrading with iPhone 4

The bluetooth connection to my iPhone 4 has become weak and unreliable over the past week. I use a Sony DR-BT 160AS stereo headset that has been very reliable up until recently. I am having the same intermittent connectivity issue with my Plantronics Voyager PRO, so it seems to indicate the problem is with the iPhone. The connection is good if I have the phone in my hand, but as soon as I try to snap it into my Otter Box belt clip, the sound breaks up, cuts out, and eventually disconnects. I tested this by cupping my hand over the phone and the same problem occurs, indicating a signal send/receive weakness. Any ideas why this would have changed? I have been able to listen to music with the phone on the belt clip since I bought this phone a year ago.

I don't know why this is happening, but I may have found the solution. I leave my iPhone powered on almost constantly. I powered of and back on again and the bluetooth connectivity has been restored to its former strength.

  • Bluetooth wont work with other phones

I have just purchased a Iphone 4s - the bluetooth does not recognise other phones but does recognise devices such as headphones etc.
    Does anyone know why?
I want to transfer my contacts from my old phone
Can anyone advise how to do this. My old phone is a standard size sim card, not the same as the micro size card in the iphone.
    Thanks

Can you send the contacts via Bluetooth to your computer, and then import them into Outlook for syncing with the iPhone via iTunes?

I have a problem with bluetooth conection between my auto  (2013 Buick) And I-phone 5. I can call out but am unable to recieve incomming calls. When I attempt to answer ,Everthing disconnects and the phone call goes to mail automatically.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Bluetooth connection issue with car stereo

    Hi,
I have a N8-00, with the current belle software on it.
With my car Bluetooth it will connect and function properly when I first add the device (N8) to the car Bluetooth, but if I turn the ignition off and then back on again it won't pair, if I try to manually do it, it just comes up with error without a code.
Deleting the device and trying to re-pair it wont work unless I restart my phone, and I am unable to turn Bluetooth off on my phone until after restarting it.
    This is getting very frustrating.
    Please help!!

  • Why won't my bluetooth connection work with the new sofware when it comes to my ITunes?

After I installed the software, my phone will connect to the bluetooth (so the phone and such work and the music) but I can no longer control my music from the radio and see the song that is up (scroll on screen). I have checked all the settings, but they are good. So it has to be the software.

There is an alternative downloader for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the most of the playback issues - including problems with Bluetooth devices - that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer).  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8).
Another possible remedy relates to a potential clash between the 64-bit version of iTunes 12 and Google Chrome; some users have reported that uninstalling Chrome (not just not having it running) resolves the iTunes playback issues without having to install the alternative version referred to above.
Finally, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • Car Bluetooth Connectivity Issue with iPhone 6

Just got the iPhone 6 on Friday -- very exciting! But I can't get the phone to connect to my Mini Countryman's bluetooth. The phone will detect the car's bluetooth signal, and says it's connected, but calls aren't audible via the car stereo system, but rather the phone itself. And if I don't turn the bluetooth off, my car thinks I'm on a call and the radio won't work.
It's frustrating because this feature use to work with my 5s. A friend of mine is having the same issue in his car. And I've seen others complain about this -- seems like an Apple issue. Not sure though.

I did what ever everyone suggested, reset all setting, reset network setting, deleting from car memory.   It's works fine after you reset it and reconnect to the car with fresh new connection at first, but after I power the phone off and turn it back on, boom the problem comes back.  It's got to be a IOS 8 issue.  I did this 3 times and I am getting sick and tired of it so I am going to restore and set up as a new iPhone from Itune and wait and see how Apple is going to fix this issue.
I have 3 cars and the Bluetooth is having the same issue on all of them, work first then no more even with the suggest tricks.  I hate my iPhone 6 now.

    2011 Subaru STI
    2012 Mercedes E350
Oh I forget to mention, My wife's iPhone 5 with IOS 8 have no issue at all with all 3 of the car. Only my iPhone 6.

  • Bluetooth Connection Problems with Acura MDX

My DroidX has been connecting for almost 2 months now just fine to my MDX.  Today it won't connect at all.  It sees it but it just won't connect. I tried rebooting the DroidX.  That didn't help. I have no idea what changed.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi,
This has happened with all my android phones (Eris,Ally, DroidX) with my JagXF.  Sometimes rebooting the phone helps, other times I have to delete the phone from my car and re-pair the devices. I really think  Android has a problem with bluetooth though as it didn't happen with my Samsung Omnia and since it happened with 3 different droid phones, what  u think?  Hope this helps!!

  • I am suddenly having Bluetooth connection problems with my 3G

I have an Iphone 3G, I have had it for a while (not quite upgrade time) and I have been using a Samsung WEP 490 with it since the day I got it.  All of the sudden within the last 2-3 weeks, my bluetooth will disconnect and reconnect repeatedly from the phone even when they are side by side.  I thought that maybe the bluetooth was dying, so I went and bought a new one (different brand and iphone compatible it said) But i had the exact same problem... only worse!  Is anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?  I don't know what changed.  The last time I tried to software update on my iphone it said I was up to date so I'm not even sure if it is a software issue.  My sister is having the same problem having her phone connect to her car (also all of the sudden and same phone).  I am running 4.2.1  Is there a way to find out when that install took place so I can see if it coincides with the problem?

    Restore w/ micro-usb cable.
