Bluetooth connectivity issue - HP TouchSmart 23-d117a

I have hp envy23-d117a all-in-one computer.  Everything was working fine but maybe I removed some default programs, which I never use.  After that, the bluetooth connectivity issue came up.  Computer was detecting devices but was unable to connect to any device.  I did an online search and found that 3 drivers were outdated on my PC.  Without thinking for a moment, I updated all those and after that the bluetooth stopped to pop up in the device manager.  I downloaded the ralink bluetooth driver but even after that the computer could not find any device.  I thought that a restart might help but after the restart, there was no bluetooth again in the device manager.

I understand that after some updates you are not able to see let alone use your Bluetooth on your HP ENVY 23-d117a TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC. I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8), which will walk you through the process of putting your computer back to the state it was in before the updates.
If the above did not work I am also providing you with the HP Support document: Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8), which you can use to restore the original drivers that came with your computer. As these worked for you I think it is best if we put them back.
Please re-post if you require additional support. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!

I have an Adesso case with bluetooth keyboard for my iPad 2. No affect on performance. Keybord easier to use compared to on-screen keyboard. Plus it has more keys compared to on-screen keyboard.

  • Bluetooth Headset / Earpiece Issues

My Jawbone bluetooth earpiece worked well with my original iPhone and 3GS but does not with the new iPhone 4. I heard bluetooth was an issue but I am only reading about tethering and phone to phone noncompatability. I heard it doesn't work with FaceTime either.
I just want to be able to use it with a phone call. It randomly drops and reconnects, etc. Very unreliable. I have had my phone since June and do not even carry my earpiece around with me anymore. Any info or news on this issue and a firmware update?

I've been having this same issue since I bought the iPhone 4. I'm really disappointed! I don't think I'll buy another iPhone for issues like this. I've spent a lot of money on the earpieces that I like to use and NONE of them give me good results with the phone.
I really would not expect an issue like this to go on for so long. This iteration of the iPhone has rendered my investments in high quality earpieces worthless pieces of junk.

  • IPhone 6 and Bluetooth phone connectivity issues with my vehicle: this is how I fixed it.

With so many threads on this topic, I wanted to detail the steps I took to fix my iPhone 6 Bluetooth issues regarding connectivity to my vehicle and handsfree calling.  My phone was pairing with my vehicle without a problem and syncing my contacts and call history but when I attempted to make a call (from either the phone or the vehicle screen) the audio went out and I could not hear the call either through the vehicle speakers or on the phone. The call was going through but I was unable to see it on my vehicle screen and/or hear it either the phone or the vehicle screen.
Based on my research and what I have learned so far, the people having problems are those who restored their new iPhone 6 from an iCloud backup from a previous phone, rather than setting up their iPhone 6 as a new phone.  I did an iCloud restore from my previous 5s running iOS 8.
First, I am a Verizon customer and I enabled Advanced Calling on my line.  After I requested that this feature be added to my line, under “Cellular” settings on my iPhone, I enabled LTE voice & data.
    Next steps:
    1) Unpair/remove iPhone from the vehicle;
    2) Forget/remove the vehicle from the phone Bluetooth settings;
    3) Soft reset the iPhone;
    4) Reset network settings on the iPhone; and
    5) Pair the phone to the vehicle again and attempt to make a call.
    If that does not work…
    6) Perform a factory reset, erasing EVERYTHING from your phone and set it up as a new iPhone rather than restoring from a backup.
Resetting the network settings seems to be working for some people.  It did not work for me.  I tried it a few times with no result.  I did the dreaded factory reset, paired the phone with my vehicle and had all of my Bluetooth functionality back and was able to use the handsfree phone with zero issues.
I was on the phone yesterday multiple times with Apple, Toyota Entune, Verizon and my Toyota dealer. Verizon blamed Toyota Entune, Toyota Entune blamed Verizon and my Toyota dealer blamed Apple.  Nobody had a clue how to fix this issue or what was causing it. I don’t know the exact reason why the previous iCloud backups are killing the Bluetooth connections, I just know what worked for me and I thought it was worth sharing.
    Good luck.

The new 8.0.2 update DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE AT ALL. After you power off and on with the phone, same issue as the 8.0, all 3 of my cars lost Bluetooth connection and shows no signal at all.  Good job Apple, what a lousy update you guys did.

  • Bluetooth Mouse Driver Issues after updating to SP1

    Greetings!
After upgrading to SP1 my bluetooth mouse stopped working.  The dongle I'm using is being detected fine, and when I scan for the mouse I can find it, but when I try to connect to it I get a "Locate driver" message from Vista.  When I let it scan for the driver it is unable to find anything compatible, so when I tell it to scan the CD that came with it again it finds nothing.  It's like the Bluetooth HID Device driver is no longer working.
    This is the dongle:
    http://us.kensington.com/html/9403.html
    This is the mouse:
    http://us.kensington.com/html/12635.html
Some of the things I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack.  I've tried using Vista's Bluetooth stack instead of the WIDCOMM stack, with no luck.
I've also tried the Bluesoleil drivers with no luck there either, in fact those seem to break the dongle and Vista is no longer able to detect it.
I've tried the install CD that came with the mouse, but it seems that is for Windows XP only.
I've tried another Bluetooth mouse that produces the exact same results, with a CD that is for Vista.
    Anyone else having this issue?

Just wanted to update this with an answer.
I'm pretty sure that running vsp1cln.exe was the reason why my Bluetooth and iPod stopped working.  I reinstalled Vista and upgraded to SP1 without running that tool to clean up the install files and both bluetooth and my iPod are working again.  It must clean up the driver files that they were using and the new files are not compatible or something.  Not sure really.

  • Bluetooth Magic Trackpad issues

    Hi All,
I tried to find similar question in discussions, but I couldn’t.
After upgrade to OSX Mavericks I have big problem with my magic trackpad connected via Bluetooth. When I start using OSX everything is ok, but after 5-10 minutes I see how trackpad somehow is losing the connection or pointer on the screen is moving with some “jumping” moves. It’s annoying and it happens only with trackpad - when I connect Logitech mouse connected with USB dongle, everything is fine. Sometimes I see that trackpad lose connection at all.
System was upgrade into Mavericks from ML - previously I had SL. I have no idea how this issue can be fixed. Perhaps I can reinstall entire system from clear installation, but I won’t do this.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,

  • X6 bluetooth and USB issue

My old 5310 had no problems connecting through bluetooth or cable to my pc. Now I updated to a X6 and nothing but issues connecting.
The bluetooth works sometimes, when it feels like it, when it doesn't work and I disable bluetooth on the phone, I can't enable it again, it just says something along the lines it can't execute bluetooth operation. First time I experienced it, I gave up and a little later I tried again, bluetooth enabled as normal and immediately connected and worked as normal.
Then I try to connect through USB cable, on which it only tries to find drivers (which it used to have when I first got the phone) and eventually I get a message the phone is still transferring files (which it isn't) and I need to enable PC Suite mode while that's what it's on.
I think there's something very wrong with the software..

    Hope your issue is solved.
    My issue is this:
    MY HARDWARE / SOFTWARE:
    - Nokia 6350 phone
    - IOGEAR GBU321 usb bluetooth
    - Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610
    - PC Suite 7.1.51.0
    PROBLEM:
PC Suite works fine with my phone if I'm in range. If I walk far away and bluetooth connection is lost, when I return to range, the synch btwn PC and Phone MAY or MAY NOT resume. Most of the time it does, but sometimes it does not.  I've tried to close/re-start PC-Suite to no avail. I've tried to re-detect my phone via PC Suite...nothing.
The workaround fix I've found  to resume the PC--Phone connection is this:
    - On the bottom left of task bar, right click on the bluetooth icon and "Explore My Bluetooth Places"
    - Delete "Nokia 6350 OBEX File Transfer"
    - right click on the bluetooth icon and select "Quick Connect"-->"File Transfer"-->"Find Devices"-->"Show All Devices"-->select the Noka 6350 (for some reason it's visible here)-->and click "Finish".
Then suddenly, my PC-Suite Icon show connected again and I'm back in business.
WHAT is causing this and HOW to fix this permanently ? Something is timing out in PC-Suite.
    Thanks,
    Neel

  • Anyone experiencing Bluetooth file sharing issues?

I have two Mac Mini's that normally Bluetooth share files all the time. After installing Lion I made sure to check that Bluetooth sharing is enabled on both computers. When one device try's to send a file to the other I get
To use the services on this computer, turn on Bluetooth sharing in it's sharing preferences.
Anyone seeing the same thing or have a fix? Thanks in advance.

Mark, my issue was a result of too much fatigue and too few brains. I had merely forgotten to turn on pairing on my bluetooth device. Once I realized my idiotic mistake, it worked immediately. Don’t know what the problem on your side could be. I believe the newest bluetooth technology (iPhone 6) is backward compatible with the oldest bluetooth technology (headphones) so it should work. Might want to check out this link iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections Good luck!

  • Bluetooth IOS 5 issues with infiniti

    Hello,
I am at a loss so far with my Iphone 4.  I recently purchased the Iphone 4 about 3 weeks ago and was able to pair it with my infiniti G37 no problem.  Well, after a week or so, I connected to iTunes and upgrade my IOS to IOS 5...BIG mistake...I am having intermitent calls through my cars bluetooth...it connects, then disconnects, the conmects, then disconnects...etc...  Aty any rate, I need my phone to stay connected!  I went from a droid to this iphone and I am seriously regretting this decision, as I had 0 problems ever with my droid.  I have tried disabling the bluetooth, deleting it from both my car and my phone and reconnecting.  I have done a hard reset, but nothing seems to work.
Question:  when will apple be fixing this...it has got to be soon!  I cannot pssobily work wityhout bluetooth and sicne verizon FAILED to mention this issue, I am stuck with this phone, that is of no use to me for my work...
    HELP!!!

I've been having the same issue with my '08 G35.  Apprently there is a problem with iOS 5 and Bluetooth; if you search this and other forums there are many reports of this issue with other manufacturersincluding Audi, BMW, Ford and Volkswagen.  Also, aftermarket stereos and even some earpieces are having similar issues.
I brought my phone to the Apple Store in Birmingham and the "genius" told me it must be a car problem and I should contact a dealer.  I contacted Infiniti Customer Support and the Bluetooth Department said there are no firmware updates available for the car.  The rep also said he has been hearing about this problem a lot.
I called the Apple Store back and they backed off their "it must be a car problem" line.  The employee said he would send some sort of report to Apple Engineering.
I have tried a hard reset of the phone after deleting the pairing from the car and the phone.  It helped but the car still drops the phone randomly.  I have also tried disabling then restarting Bluetooth right before I get in the car, also turning the phone to airplane mode then back to normal; neither reliably fixes the problem.
To me this is a more serious issue than the well-publicized battery problems.  People use this feature to safely make calls.  To have a system that will randomly stop working in the middle of a call is less safe than having no handsfree capability at all.  Especially for people like me with a manual transmission.
Apple may want to think about fixing this before someone crashes his or her car.

  • Bluetooth unavailable/blued issues

My bluetooth has been giving me issues for a couple of days now. It all started after I was forced to power down my computer because it froze immediately after waking up.
After the initial restart, bluetooth became unavailable. However, I'm not getting the squiggly line through the icon at the top. Instead, it looks like this. I have a Magic Mouse, so obviously not being able to use bluetooth is bugging me. What's odd is that if I go through Bluetooth File Exchange, I can usually get it working, but aside from that, no luck.
BUT. This isn't what is bothering me the most. Ever since this started happening, my computer's fans start running about five minutes after start up, and usually stay at about 6000-6200rpm while the computer is on, regardless of what I am doing. Also, the CPU temp has been around 80-84 degrees these last couple of days, even though my computer doesn't feel warm.
The reason I think this has something to do with my bluetooth is because when I opened the activity monitor, "blued" (which I googled and found out is the bluetooth daemon) is sucking up about 62% of the CPU's resources, even though my bluetooth isn't turned on. Force quitting it from the activity monitor does nothing, because it just comes back.
Other things I have tried that haven't worked:
    1. Resetting PRAM
    2. Resetting SMC
    3. Deleting preference files from library
    4. Repairing permissions from start-up disk
Does anyone have any idea why this "blued" process keeps running even though my bluetooth isn't on? And how to fix it so it doesn't consume so much of the CPU's resources/cause my fans to go wild?
Also, don't know whether this is important to know, but my macbook is three years old now, but still in good condition (I hope). Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello:
You have tried most of the things that I would have suggested:
Other things I have tried that haven't worked:
    1. Resetting PRAM
    2. Resetting SMC
    3. Deleting preference files from library
    4. Repairing permissions from start-up disk
If you have not don so, trash a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist).
I would also run repair disk from your software install DVD.
I would also run Apple's hardware checker from your software install DVD. If you have it, run Techtool.

  • Bluetooth streaming studdering / issues

    I have a Late 2013 MBP-r running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
I have a wireless mac keyboard and track pad (recently purchased new from apple store)
And today I got the new Beats Studio Wireless headphones.
    Now, here is my issue....
My bluetooth audio is stuttering big time. I am lucky if i get more than 10min with out the audio breaking up.
My Trackpad will start acting up randomly, where the mouse movements are erratic.
And even while typing this email out, my text cursor is bouncing to another part of the email. Even though the touchpad is several inches away from my hand.
I am having crazy weird issues with the bluetooth.
YET, i boot into windows, NO problems. Audio streams GREAT! And my weird mouse issues are no longer present.
    Any advice?

You can not change it completely from SBC to AAC, instead, select the song you wish to stream, then, at the Apple Menu, click on advanced, the click convert to AAC. It is time consuming, so I suggest you select all songs in your iTunes Library.

  • MACbook Pro/Bluetooth?Disconnect issues with an Apple mouse and keyboard

    Well Folks-
The disconnect issue I have with my Macbook Pro using a wireless Apple Keyboard and mouse is BACK.    I wiped the hard drive clean and I reinstalled and I updated the O.S. system including purchasiing Lion via the ineternet one by one and the disconnect issue has retuned on Day 4.    What else is there left to do?   Anyone?

    Hi....
Might be corrupted Bluetooth preferences (.plist)
    Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
See if that helped. You may need to re, "pair" your devices and the Mac OS X will re geneate a new .plist file for you.
Make sure the batteries are fresh also.

  • Iphone 5 bluetooth to macbook issue

Hi there. hope all is well. im having trouble with my ip5 bluetooth. its connecting to my Jawbone Jambox wireless speaker but wont connect to my macbook pro (mountain lion) or even find it on the devices, it just says searching. The macbook finds it but says error everytime it tries to connect. It used to work properly when i first bought it i had to change the iphone bec the first one had many issues. what should i do??
P.s. i tried internet sharing from my mac as the router to the phone over wifi to bluetooth pan but it wont find it at all either. HELP!
    thank you.

I have an iPhone 5 and a Volvo XC60 with the Sensus Entertainment System.  I pair my iPhone to my car for phone calls and A2DP Bluetooth audio.  I had an iPhone 4 prior to my iPhone 5.
What I've noticed since switching to iPhone 5 is that my A2DP BT works fine until something (SMS, Alarms, Phone Calls--but *not* email alerts) interrupts the stream.  After that interruption A2DP BT skips, fades in and out and is generally garbage until I cycle Bluetooth off and back on again.
I have not confirmed if this happens with my iPhone 4 on IOS6 (as so to determine if this is IOS6, iPhone 5 or both)--but I was running IOS6 prior to my iPhone 5 and do not recall any BT issues at all--I did have to repair my phone, but that's normal since the BT profiles might've changed.
    Just thought I'd contibute.

  • T440P Bluetooth Windows 7 Issue

    Hey Everyone,
I am pulling my hair out on this one.
I am working on getting unattended installations on a very large amount of T440P notebooks, which means, I need to erase the original shipped OS and reinstall using a Windows 7 OEM disk and then install the drivers at the end of the installation (I'll bundle them together and have them preinstalled later)
    Here is my problem.
Once Windows 7 Professional is finished and I pull the drivers from Lenovos Support page, I get everything to install except it is always missing the bluetooth driver. I have tried doing this manually, using the setup.exe program and also using the ThinkVantage System Update software, the system never recognizes that there is a bluetooth device inside the machine.
Using the Intel driver listed here: http://support.lenovo.com/DE/DE/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t44...
Have also tried the Realtek, with no luck.
Here is the weird thing, I have tried on three different T440P notebooks, I have also used a driver extractor to pull the drivers from a working machine (One that was using the original Win 7 Pro OS that was preinstalled on the computer).
I am at a loss of what to do now, am I missing something obvious? It is not a hardware issue as it does the same thing on three different T440P's, and it can't be a compatability issue as the two drivers are listed to work with Win 7 32/64bit.
    I am running:
    Windows 7 Profession SP1
    64-Bit
    Please, any help is apperciated.

    Well, I assumed wrong.
The unknown device must be something else.
As soon as I turned the bluetooth device on in the on-screen display, the bluetooth device installed and works perfectly on both machines I am testing.
I spent so much time on this today, how stupid am I...
I would think that even if it was switched off on the lenovo hot-key application, the driver would still be listed in the device manager.
Thank you Skoop, you really saved me from throwing these machines out building window right now.

  • Bluetooth software license file - HP Touchsmart IQ772 Vista Home Premium SP1

I installed Driver Max a couple of weeks ago and updated outdated drivers, blutooth amongst them, identified by Driver Max, on my HP Touchsmart IQ772, Vista Home Premium SP1.  Since last week, I get this message every time I log on or restart my computer; Bluetooth Software license file not found. [2].  What does this mean and how do I stop this happening again?
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.

I had the same problem after doing a registry clean-up on my touchsmart iq518a, don't know why it worked but i fixed it by going to programs and features on the control panel and uninstalling the 'bluetooth by hp' program. Everything still works perfectly and that annoying message no longer comes up.
    Hope this helps
