Bluetooth contact upload

My iPhone 4 worked well with my 2012 Kia Sportage.  However, recently it can no longer upload the contacts.  Bluetooth streaming and hands free still work fine.  But the problem uploading contacts began (I think) either when I upgraded from iOS 5.x to 6.x, OR when I upgraded to the iPhone 5 from the 4, OR both.
Anyone having similar problems?  Solutions?  Could this be a Bluetooth 4.0 issue?  Is the solution with Kia?

I've officially given up on this phone and Sprint. I've been with Sprint for 9 years. I bought the Pre and returned it because of this issue (and the email sync). As soon as my local AT&T store gets replenished, I am buying the iPhones 3G S. Sorry folks.

    I have a 2010 Mercedes E-Class, and have transferred my address book to the vehicle. I followed the instructions provided by Mercedes on their web sight, and the process was fairly simple.
    The iPhone supports the following Bluetooth profiles.

    When i logged onto my itunes account, my daughters contacts uploaded to my iphone.  We do not share the same itunes account so i don't know how this happened. Does anyone know how to remove her contacts from my phone with out having to manually delete them one by one?

    Apparently, you have set up the same iCloud account on both devices or you are syncing both devices under the same user ID on the same computer and have ended up syncing both of them with the same address book on the computer.

  • Mercedes Bluetooth contacts iPhone

    Recently I purchased a c class Mercedes an paired my iPhone without any problems. I can not transfer my 300 contacts to my car as apple does not allow this function via Bluetooth . I am surprised as blackberries and all other phones transfer contacts without a problem... I am surprised as the iPhone does everything and this is frustrating.
    Many people are having the same issue. Is there a work around or an app?
    vCard issue as well...

    The iPhone supports PBAP (Phone Book Access Protocol) for contact syncing with in car systems. Most modern smartphones do. Your system needs to support this protocol. If it does, contact sync is automatic. Nothing needs to be done. Once it connects to a paired device, the contacts are uploaded to the system. Much more elegant than the antiquated protocol that required you to manually transfer them.
    Check with your dealer to see if there is an update available for your system. Chrysler, Ford and Toyota have all released updates within the last year to improve compatibility with the iPhone. I'd be surprised to hear Mercedes is so far behind the pack... OK, not surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised. Even the Korean cars are beginning to rival them these days.

  • Problem with date format in while contact upload i...

    Hi,
    I have Lumia 720 and I am using hotmail.com. Firstly I have uploaded all the contacts from my phone to hotamil account. Recently I had to delete all contacts on my Lumia 720 and then I again transferred the contacts using synch between hotmail anf Lumia 720. But the birth date format for some contacts automatically changed from dd/mm/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy. This is causing a lot of confusion.
    Does anyone know the solution?

    Serge,
    I presume you are using a <dateField> component in your table. To get it to work properly with your custom format, put a dateValidator inside it like this:
    <dateField name="date1">
      <onSubmitValidater>
        <date pattern="PATTERN" />
      </onSubmitValidater>
    </dateField>Replace PATTERN with any pattern supported by the Java SimpleDateFormat class.

  • Bluetooth contact transfer and creating photo album

    Ok,  generally I am technical and can figure this stuff out quickly but have not been able to yet.
    I have a need to transfer my entire contact list via bluetooth to my car.  In my windows phone i could just choose select all contact then send via bluetooth.  How is this accomplished in andoid?
    I have transferred 3 directories of photos from my pc to the micro sd card in my phone.  I am able to see them on the android photo app but they appear in a single album.  How do you create albums in the photo app?  Can't you specify that each subdirectory is a different album?
    Why is android so user-hostile compared to windows phone?
    HELP PLEASE.

    Not all car stereos support this option, this is controlled by the bluetooth supported stacks in the device, usually as technology is upgraded older devices can not communicate on the profile because of the update...  If I had to guess the update 2.3.4 OS us using a new bluetooth stacks that the stereo does not support so there isnt any way to get this to work simply..

    The reason they are showing in the same directory is because you copied them into the same folder, you need to seperate the items into different folders to have them display in different directory..
    Why is android so user-hostile compared to windows phone?
    All OS has their own unique ways of handlings files and data and if you are accustom to using one platform everything different take some getting use to...  Android hands data and file much better than a windows device would in my opinion..
    Give it time to learn the OS and then you will come to like it better..
    HELP PLEASE.
    Hope this helped clarify things...

  • Bluetooth contact transfer for iPhone

    I have a great new phone called the iPhone yet it can not do the simple task of sending a contacts card via bluetooth to another phone. It is a task my very old Nokia 6600 could do. It is something the iPhone could do if it was programmed to do it. So why Apple did you leave this basic feature out. You can't claim battery life because you now have 3G and that drains batter life big time (this is also true for Stereo bluetooth which would be great to have while I am working out, plus you give the option of turning on and off both 3G and bluetooth. So please start implementing basic features to a capable device. You are Apple. You can make anything easy. I am sure you already have a solution.

  • Slow message/contacts upload on 7.1 PC Suite

    Hi, I have a E71. Recently after upgrading to PC Suite 7.1 have been finding the message/contacts loading in the PC Suite screen very slow. It take upto 4-5 minutes. My previous expierence working with older versions was it used to come up in a flash. I tried working on the old saved version of PC suite however it is now giving the same problem.  In a effort to resolve this I also did a firware update on my phone ... no luck..  Any suggestions
    regards

    I have the same problem with the n97 mini. I'm using a desktop pc and a notebook and on both the start of the communication center takes minutes. After the start i can work with normal performance. It doesn't make a difference if I use the cable or the bluetooth connection. I have 45 contacts stored.Thank you for your help

  • Nokia 6300 & CK-15W - Contacts upload

    Just fitted a CK-15W to the wifes Navara today, all working nicely with her 6300 (firmware now v05.50) except I can't get the contacts details to upload to the car kit from the phone. I tried with my 6500 Slide and it worked perfectly first time, no probs. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it? or is it one of these things that she'll just have to live with? If not fixable it realy makes the CK-15W screen a bit pointless, as thats why I bought it for her car rather than the CK-7W that I fitted in my own (and before anyone suggests it NO I'm not swapping the kits over! lol )

    That did it, moved the contacts to the phone memory tried again and lo and behold it worked first go. It would be nice if Nokia could tell you these things in the instructions (one assumes they try out their products for full compatibility LOL)!
    Thanks for the help, it was something that had briefly passed through my mind as a possible reason but I had discounted it as too simple/obvious (how wrong can you be!).
    Thanks again
    Kenny.

  • Bluetooth Contacts and Photos - Lumia 925

    I have been loyal to Nokia since mobile phones were invented. I found I was unable to transfer Contacts from my Lumia 800 to my Mercedes C class, so kept my trusty Music Xpress 5800 on a PAYG contract. I have now just upgraded to a Lumia 925 and found I still can't transfer Contacts to my car phonebook by Bluetooth or transfer Photos by Bluetooth to print hard copies in a photo booth. Please can someone let me know in the next 3 days how to do this, otherwise I will have to return my Lumia 925 and swap it for an iPhone. Thanks in advance.

    Have you tried unpairing both ends and then repairing? I have no problems pairing with BMW's. They even read my incoming text messages out for me.

  • Successful Bluetooth Contacts Transfer - BMW iDriv...

    This is a cross post for a solution which worked for an E65 and 6110 Nokia in a 2008 BMW 320i with iDrive my girlfriend just bought. Note it'd therefore have the latest BMW firmware... but I'm not sure that's the issue. It seems to be Nok related... specifically, S60 based phones. A link to identify S60 phones is http://www.s60.com
    Background:
    - Both phones are 6 to 9 months old. My E65 had already received a firmware update some time ago.
    - Neither phone would transfer contacts to the BMW. Both worked fine in all other ways.
    - I tried many combinations of the "sync profile" method detailed previously and found it would not work.
    - I tried to "send contacts" from the contact list to the BMW and that would not work.
    - I tried to "data transfer" from the phone and found the BMW was not supported.
    - I downloaded and installed the "Nokia 810 Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 3rd edition devices" from http://europe.nokia.com/A4143881 and found that didn't work.
    Solution 1: SUCCESSFUL
    - I updated the "Nokia Firmware Downloader" under the instructions of PC Suite which I already had installed.
    - I updated the firmware on my E65 and enjoyed that it wiped my contacts.
    - I deleted the existing pairing on the phone and car.
    - I added one simple contact to the phone contacts list.
    - I checked the installed "Contact Download Application" was running on the phone.
    - I paired the phone and car and immediately saw a transfer of the contact I had entered.
    So happy with my win, I set about repeating the process with the 6110 taking on board a few lessons, but also attempting to streamline for others.
    Solution 2: FAILED***
    - I deleted the existing pairing on the phone and car.
    - I checked the installed "Contact Download Application" was running on the phone.
    - I paired the phone and car and nothing seemed to happen, even after a few tries at reinitiating the Bluetooth connection by switching the car on and off.
    I figured there was a requirement that the phone's firmware be updated, so started again.
    Solution 3: SUCCESSFUL
    - I set about doing backups using PC Suite and also the phone's system for saving content to the memory card.
    - I updated the 6110 using PC Suite noting my girlfriend has better luck than I as all her contacts remained.
    - I deleted the existing pairing on the phone and car.
    - I checked the installed "Contact Download Application" was running on the phone (it had remained installed despite the firmware update).
    - I paired the phone and car and nothing seemed to happen, even after a few tries at reinitiating the Bluetooth connection by switching the car on and off and on again.
    - Whilst staring at the miserable POS for a while (and pointlessly poking with the "Contact Download Application") I noticed the transfer commence and all contacts come across from the phone to the car.
    - I estimate it took 2 minutes for the transfer to commence with the 6110, and note it did not have a particularly large number of contacts. Once it stared it was damned quick.
    I was, of course, totally chuffed and guaranteed an excellent breakfast.
    I propose someone try the above method with an N95 to the letter to see if it works. Don't shortcut and make sure everything is the absolute latest revision. Hopefully all goes well and someone else can try the following.
    SOLUTION 4: UNPROVEN
    - Ignore firmware updating on phone.
    - Delete the existing pairing on the phone and car.
    - Download and install the "Nokia 810 Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 3rd edition devices" from http://europe.nokia.com/A4143881 .
    - Check the installed "Contact Download Application" is running on the phone.
    - Pair the phone and car then reinitiate the Bluetooth connection by switching the car on and off and on again.
    - WAIT for the transfer to commence and all contacts to come across from the phone to the car.
    I really hope this progresses some of the S60 operating system connectivity issues out there, and highlight that as of last night I was a total noob. It's all trial, error, analysis and patience!

    Steve many thanks for the explanation of how to download and use "Contact Download Application".
    I have a June 2008 135i convertible and needed a phone with 3G capability.
    I had a Nokia 6300 and the contact download worked just fine - but no 3G.
    Our company sponsored E61 and E65 would not do the automatic contact transfer.
    I did the "contact download application" activity described earlier on this thread. Got it running in background on the phone. Paired the phone to car. Waited ten minutes. Hey presto, the "contact transfer" notification comes up on the mobile phone and all contacts transferred. The E61 and E65 now work the same as the "supported" 6300.
    (I didn't bother to do any phone firmware updates).
    Hope this helps!

  • HT4859 how do i retrieve my contacts, upload

    i lost all my contacts,, how do i retrieve my contacts on my phone using i tunes fro the auo back up.....
    thank you

    If you accidentally deleted your contacts on the device, your only hope to get some back is to restore from a backup, either on icloud or on iTunes, whichever you back up to.
    Restore from iCloud-
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your phone.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your phone is new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

  • IOS4 Bluetooth contacts not now compatible with Volkswagen RNS-510

    Since upgrading to iOS4, iPhone 3G owners can no longer sync their contacts with the RNS-510 navigation system.
    http://vwnavi.com/showthread.php/showthread.php?p=52458#poststop
    The latest dot release of iOS4 has not remedied the situation.
    When will this be fixed?

    @tfbrodie
    Sorry, no, i didn´t get the name of the supporter. Wouldn´t make a difference anyway. I´m sitting in germany and was expecting answers like that.
    @carlosrr
    yeah, think you are right. most likely isn´t categorized as a bug - more like a new feature it feel´s like a "join us or die" attitude. i guess vw , merc and ford are more likely to do something against this than apple. too bad you cannot even downgrade from ios4 to 3.1.3. i find it quite funny that itunes reports a "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" while trying to downgrade though it clearly is (or should be being delivered with 3.1.3). I even expected the supporter to tell me it´s my own fault if i install untested software on my iphone absurdely after the call i was thinking about jailbreaking the iphone just to get the initial functionality back ... and man, am i glad i don´t have a 3G ... friend of mine told me his 3G is lagging like **** after the ios4 update. apple must be pretty sure long term customers don´t care about being deprived of features and the usability of their products by updates and simply buy a new one. too bad they are obviously right.
    anybody knows if the problem persists with the iphone4 ? would mean no vw, audi, seat, skoda, lamborghini, merc and ford driver with built-in satnav´s could use an iphone anymore ?!?
