Bluetooth dissapeared

Bluetooth has dissapeared from my mac. It's icon is no longer in the menu bar and no longer in system preferences. It seems like it never existed on this computer. I already tried deleting the file com.apple.bluetooth.plist from preferences and after restarting nothing changed and new file was not created on the preferences folder as it was supposed to.
Also tried resseting the PRAM but it didn't change anything.
Can anyone please heeeeelllp. Any other suggestions as to where I can find my lost bluetooth???

  • B320 Bluetooth Adapter dissapeared!

    Hi there!
I had a B320 for a month, and was wondering how to turn the bluetooth adapter off. I tried changing settings on the control panel and after some attempts, I succesfully disabled it.
Couple of days later, I tried to enable it back and it seems to have vanished!
I´ve been reinstalling controllers, turning to Windows restoring points, etc. but the problem is it seems I somehow turned
the adapter off and I can´t seem to find any trace of it to try and turn it back on.
I even entered the computer´s setup to see if it was disabled but to no avail.
    Any ideas?

  • Bluetooth COMPLETELY dissapeared

After updating to Lion (10.7), I tried going into bootcamp, but found out bluetooth was gone completely.  I mangaed with a wired keyboard alone to look in device manager, control panel, Ncpa.cpl (all internet devices e.g. wifi, ethernet, bluetooth), and the task bar, and bluetooth is nowhere to be found.  I also tried startup repair and system restore, in addition to directory services repair mode.  Does anybody have an idea of what's going on?

@jose and everyone else that wants the controller to work properly over Bluetooth, make sure you have a Bluetooth dongle ( preferably http://www.gameaccy.com/bluetooth-dongle-for-motioninjoy because its the most compatible model, and MiJ is built based on it) in the computer (and that the drivers for the dongle itself are installed) and go into the driver manager (in DS3 tool/motioninjoy) and select all the devices on the list (it only lists external devices so USB and Bluetooth are the only ones that should be on there) and click load driver. Go to BluetoothPair and click pair now and Have paired to: should get assigned a MAC address for the controller you're using.  Now unplug the controller and reconnect it. Windows should install the MiJ drivers for your controller.  When the updates are completed, restart your computer.  While it's booting up, hold F8 at the Black screen wi the blinking underscore and arrow your way up or down to Disable Driver Signature enforcement (allows MiJ to install completely).  After you login, open DS3 tool and go to Bluetooth pair again and click pair now (the drivers were modified so the MAC address was as well). Go to profiles, make sure it says Dualshock 3 Bluetooth and click enable, then click vibration test to confirm enable was clicked and processed.  Unplug your controller.  Now your regular Bluetooth (mouse and whatnot) and your controller (from the dongle) should be working. I kinda forgot the whole process so I did the whole thing again while making this post and everything works as said above (I'm playing Saints Row 3, and can navigate the menus with both my mouse/keyboard and the controller simultaneously. They also both work in game. Hope this helps everyone! Remember, if you don't want to risk having to follow my original solution (overriding your default BT), you shouldn't really worry in the first place. Like I said, if you do mess up just follow my original fix for the a BT and try again (or not if you prefer.  Hope this works!

  • IPhone 4 won't play music in car when through USB when connected to Bluetooth aswell.

    Hi Guys
Could someone help me. My iphone connects to my car through a USB connector and works fine. When I also connect to my car Bluetooth the sound dissapears after a minute or so. My display still shows the song playing but no sound. I can still go through play lists change track etc but no noise. If I unplug the cable and plug back in again it will work again and after another minute or so the sound cuts out again. Sometimes it won't play at all.
It seems to work fine if the bluetooth isn't connected although I have not tested this extensively.
I have tried in 2 other cars to make sure it isn't a fault with the car and I get the same result.
It isn't linked to any software upgrade.
Has anybody else heard of this or know a solution????
    Thanks
    Michael.

    Hi
Just to update for the last time. I have realised that if the bluetooth is paired to the car the music sound either does not play or plays for around a minute then cuts out. This still happens even if I disconnect the bluetooth connection. However if I delete the phone completely out at the car and cancel the pairing, the music plays fine no issues.
I guess somehow it is therefore based around the bluetooth. I have checked all menus I can find on the car and the phone to make sure there is no setting wrong somewhere. I cannot understand why it plays for a short time and then stops, seems like an intermittant fault ???
    Thanks
    Michael.

  • Airplay Icon not Showing when connected to my car's bluetooth stereo

I have an UVO system in my Kia. It has been working great with the Iphone Airplay since October. I recently updated my phone and now, just like many others, no airplay showing up on my music apps.
I basically use Spotify and Pandora all the time with zero issues. Now when my phone is connected to my car through bluetooth, my phone works perfectly and can talk through the speakers for calls but the music apps do not display the icon to switch between dock connector or bluetooth audio. This has led me to believe it's not a problem with my UVO system in my car but rather an apple related issue. Why would they dissapear? I have tried shutting off, rebooting, and all that jazz on both my Iphone 4 and Ipad2. Also, even when connected through the USB port, the UVO still doesnt recognize the audio.
    Any advice would be awesome!

I DON'T text and drive. I just want be able to hear, for example, alerts that I have put on my calendar. I can/do pull over to look at texts--but not when I don't know that I have a message. This was never an issue until a couple of weeks ago.

  • Mighty mouse (BT) dissapears

    hi
since today mighty mouse (BT) dissapears on restart ..
    thanx for advice !

Try re "pairing" the mouse to the Mac.
Open System Preferences/Bluetooth. Make sure the buttons On and Discoverable are selected.
If your mouse is listed in the panel on the left, select it and click the - button.
Make sure the mouse batteries are charged.
Make sure the bottom of the mouse slider is open and the green light is flashing.
Now go back to the System Preferences/Bluetooth window. Click the + button and follow the instructions to re "pair" the mouse to the Mac.
    See if that helps..

  • Bluetooth device detection

    Hi everyone!
(I am newb at Java, and im looking for a very simple application (i think), but im not sure how to find what im looking for, i tried sourceforge.net, but i dont know how to run the java source files.)
What im looking for is an app for PC that searches for bluetooth devices in the area, and logs their MAC address into a file (preferably .xml)
It should continuously search for devices, and update the .xml file everytime it finds a new device, or an old one dissapears, so i always know what devices are in the area at this excact moment.
Have you ever heard of such a thing, or do you simply have some good keywords for me to use :) Either way i would be very thankful for your help! :)
    Cheers,
    Lars

  • Dissapearing Menubar Items

    Hi all
My Wife and I have a seperate account each on my Mac. We have both been having this problem for a couple of months now. Every now and then if we Restart or Log out/in again our menubar items such as the time, Bluetooth, Keychain screen lock, Display resolution etc, etc, dissapear without any obvious cause. We have to go into Sys Prefs etc. and switch on the various options again to get the items back again. Can anyone throw any light on what might be causing this?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi, Derek.
    In addition to Michael's suggestions:
    1. Did you install a hacked version of Front Row on the Mac in question? If so, see my "Uninstalling the Front Row hack" FAQ.
    2. If you have any third-party menu bar extras installed — the icons on the right side of the menu bar other than the Spotlight icon — then one of these may be problematic. Often they're launched as Startup or Login items. If an errant Startup or Login Item is the cause, my "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem. See also the "Startup and Login Items" chapter of my book, which you noted having in an earlier post.
    Good luck!

  • Bluetooth issue after 7.4.1. upgrade

After upgrading my MacBook to Lion 7.4.1, Bluetooth is behaving badly. I have been using Bluetooth to send files between my MacBook and iMac for three years, with no problems. Now, I never know whether they are going to communicate with each other. Sometimes, they both indicate that they are connected to the other, sometimes they don't, but even when showing connected, they sometimes cannot transfer a file. Each claims that the other is to blame.
Sometimes, a file will make it across the Great Divide, but the journey seems to take longer than it should.
I can see that others are having Bluetooth/Lion issues, also. Is this going to be fixed or should I revert to Snow Leopard?
I also am upset that I have to set up my Mail from scratch, but that's a subject for a different discussion area.

    An update on this.
I upgraded to 7.4.2, and this has not resolved the issue.
What appears to be happening is that the sync starts, but then crashes after X number of items (varies each time). This seems to be at the point itunes switches from the 'copying item X of Y'/progress bar screen to the 'syncing ipod..' splash message (the little '>' arrow in the top display and the syncing logo next to the ipod in the left pannel both dissapear).
On occassion, if I hit 'sync' again, it picks up where it left off, but on most occasion I need to dissconnect the ipod, and reconnect it to complete the sync (sometimes 2 or three times).
This is happening with both Ipods I own. I have run the ipod diagnostics, and it does not show any errors.
7.3.2 was working fine - issue only occurs since the 7.4.X upgrades.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be/how to fix?
    Regards,
    Dave.

  • Can´t sync my Bluetooth Headphones after 10.5.7 update

    Hi everyone,
Since i updated to 10.5.7, i´m unable to sync my Sony DR-BT22 bluetooth headphones to my iMac, everytime i activate them from the bluetooth icon on the bar, the sound dissapears and iTunes stops playing any song, and eventually, a pop up message cames out and says there´s a problem with the bluetooth device, although i´ve used them before with 10.5.6.
The headphones work fine, since they still work with my iPod Touch and my PS3, so it´s must have something to do with the last update. So anyone has any ideas about what can i do?

Others have had issues with Bluetooth devices:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2005402&start=0&tstart=15
Opening the Bluetooth prefpane in System Preferences and turning it off and on again seems to be a short term fix, but it apparently doesn't last.

  • 5800 + bh-103 problem with bluetooth connection

    Hello,
I have nokia 5800 xpressmusic with Version 30.0.011.C03.01 that was issued for the phone in 29/06/09.
I also bought bh-103 bluetooth stereo handsfree and to my pity i realized that from time to time the bluetooth connection between my 5800 and my bh-103 is faulty. The phone shows that it is connected with this bluetooth but you cannot dial nethier from phone nor from the bluetooth bh-103. Even if i power off the bh-103 the phones stil shows  the bluetooth connection to be active(the icon of the headphone dissapears). If i power on the bh-103 even if the icon of the headphone in the display of the 5800 dissapears it can't be paired. What i mean is that the phone shows both the bluetooth connection to be opened plus the icon of the headset in the display but as i mentioned before you can't voice dial by pressing the big center button of the bh-103, neither you can dial from the phone itself.
    Has anyone faced similar problems?
P.S. this kind of problems i am facing since i bought the phone with the already installed version of the firmware

First, restore factory settings in your 5800 phone. Next reset the BH-103 by pressing and holding down the multifunction key for more than 8 seconds.
Now, turn it on (press and hold down the multifunction key for approx. 4sec)
Turn on the bluetooth in your 5800 (you must do it within a second or two after you turn on the headset)
Wait for the headset to detect and pair with the phone. The pass code is 0000. In your phone, set the headset as authorized, so that it can connect to your phone automatically.
If the problem persists, I would advise you to check for the same behaviour with another bluetooth headset. Do you have problems while transferring files, connecting to the PC thru PC Suite, etc using Bluetooth?
    Cheers,

  • Airport Hardware dissapeared

I own a DualCore 2.3ghz Powermac G5. As most of you know it came with Airport and Bluetooth 2.0 standard.
Today i was transfering some files (via our Airport Network) from our other 1.8ghz G5 to the DC2.3. I was transfering the file by mounting the Hard Drive of the 1.8 on the desktop of the DC2.3. About 15mins into the transfer an error occured and the transfer was stopped. I thought that maybe a restart was needed so i rebooted both of the computers. Upon the 1.8's restart i saw it was working fine and ready to transfer the files. Upon the DC2.3's restart i noticed that it could not connect or even find the 1.8 on our network. So i automatically looked up to the menu bar to check Airport status. The Airpor Status Menulet was gone completely. I went to the Network pane of Sys Prefs and saw that it said the Airport was off. Upon opening the Airport pane of Internet connect it said "No Airport Hardware Found". I looked at the Sys Profiler as well and it says that no Airport hardware is present on my computer....
...Any help or ideas would be much appreiciated. I'm trying to keep from freaking out over here....Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with my G5 Quad a couple of months ago. The Airport hardware just dissapeared. The internet settings in system prefs said "no airport card detected" and I of course had one. The answer was a trip to the genius bar at Apple Retail and they replaced the airport card. It's worked fine every since. Hope this helps.
