Bluetooth distance - use as Internet source for PDA?

Hello Apple friends,
I'm thinking about buying a bluetooth module. What's the realistic range one can expect of a bluetooth module plugged in a desktop, trying to connect with a bluetooth equiped pda. I have a bluetooth pda and would like to connect to the internet with it while at home, do I have to be in my office with my pda to do so? or will it work say one or 2 rooms away? From what I have read, it sounds like bluetooth is very distance limited. I know it would be better to go with Wi-Fi, just thought it would be so much cheaper to use bluetooth if it would work. I know that Mac's won't allow sharing an internet connection via bluetooth (if there's anyway around that, someone let me know), so I was going to use a PC that I have for this purpose of connecting my pda wirelessly to the net. Again, I know Wi-Fi would be the better way to go, but I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars to make this work, so looking for budget minded alternatives.

Crop the image out of the print screen. I imagine your screen will be a much larger resolution then the camer, and will only take up a portion of your browser window.

Is it possible to use same data source for two info cube

Hi,
My Problem is in BW we can not have value of material at storage location level.In R/3 also value is maintained at plant level.
Then we searched and we found out one hot to doc for summarized display of stock values on storage location level.
Problem is that we have gone live in last December and we are using " 0AFMM_C02 " and it contains around 1,81,26,000 records. and according to note we have to use
"0IC_C03".
Both the cube uses same data sources for the data.So, how to get the data for "0IC_C03".
and how to delete the data of existing info cube.And is it possible to delete data selectively from the info cube.

Hi,
You can't create update rule from PSA.You can create from the infosource or from ODS or from cube to cube or ODS to ODS.
In your scenario, what you can do is create update rules from the ODS to the new cube and then transfer the data from there. Or from the Infosource create rules to the new data target and then upload the full data and then set up the delta.
Third option is to create update rules from the existing cube to the new cube and then load all the data one time. Then you can deactivate the update rules as that was needed only for 1 time data transfer.

Use only Internet Explorer for SAP portal

Hello,
We have a requirement to use only internet explorer for SAP portal.
When we try to use portal in any other browser, it should display a message saying "This browser is not supported for the application" (or any other message). But purpose is, the portal application should be usable in only one browser i.e Internet Explorer.
If any one have any idea on this, how this can be implemented, then please share the same. I tried to find if there are any standard SAP portal parameters, but haven't come across any.

Model uses wrong logical source for aggregation

Hi all,
i faced with problem when my model uses the wrong logical source to display pre-aggregated data. I have 5 logical sources with pre-aggregtaed data for my fact table and use two dimensions for mapping these sources:
Dimension "Geography": Country->State
Dimension "Periods": Year->Quarter->Month->Day
source 1 (most derailed) - mapped to levels: DAY, STATE
source 2 - mapped to DAY, COUNTRY
source 3 - mapped to MONTH, STATE
source 4 - mapped to MONTH (only this level)
source 5 - mapped to MONTH, COUNTRY
When i run my request - measure by DAY - it uses source 2, instead of using source 1 as i supposed. Can anybody explain me why?

What am i understanding from here is BI server decided on the best way to get the job done. You are having day at source 1 and source 2. But source 2 is aggregated at higher level than the source 1 with respect to region dimension. So as a matter of fact the best source for day is source 2.

Using Essbase as source for OBIEE 10.1.3.3

Our company is in the process of implementing OBIEE 10.1.3.3 and I was trying to import an Essbase database (7.1.6) as a source for the Physical layer. However it looks like there was a change from 10.1.3.2 to the version we have. The docs show you can select File/Import/XMLA, however in the newer version instead of XMLA you have "From Multi Dimensional...". When I select this option and fill in the Essbase Server name,ID & pswd it crashes the OBIEE Administrator client.
The error I get before it wants to "Send the Report" mentions this:
AppName: admintool.exe AppVer: 10.1.3.3 ModName: essapinu.dll
ModVer: 7.1.6.6218 Offset: 00008282
I then tried another way by right clicking on the Physical layer and choose "New Database". In there you have a option for the database of "Essbase". However, even when I fill in the server and ID & pswd I can't find anything in the docs showing you how to have it list the Essbase applications and Databases. According to the Oracle Support the docs for 10.1.3.2 are the latest docs which don't mention anything about connecting to Essbase that I can see.
Has anyone tried to use Essbase as the database source for OBIEE 10.1.3.3 and been successful? Any info would be helpful!!

Using the Formula Node for PDA

I get a compile error when I use C code inside the formula node. Is it possible to use C Code inside the formula node for PDA applications? Do I have to include any file while building the executable for the PDA

Ok, I was able to successfully build an executable file without error. I attached the screen shots of your program in execution. Does this look like the desired result?
I'm confused as to why I can build and run the program on my machine. I have LabVIEW 7.0 and Windows XP. What version of Windows and LabVIEW are you using? Also, are you getting the error window when you try to build an executable or when you attempt to run the VIs within LabVIEW?

Using AIR as source for procedure generators??

We currently have procedure generators for support people to choose the documentation they want to see and download it. Problem is the output (and input) is all Word based and the choice is not to go back from Frame to Word.
Could AIR be used as sources for a procedure generator, to output in XML format?

I have bunch of Centura Report Builder and need to show them inside .NET WPF UI. I was thinking to convert those reports to SSRS and then show. But database here is SQL Base
and want to know whether SSRS supports SQL Base as a source. Also let me know is there a way to show Centura Report Builder inside WPF without converting to SSRS.

In Reporting Services, a set of data processing extensions are automatically installed and registered on both the report authoring client and on the report server to provide access to a variety of data source types. But the SQLBase is not included.
However, custom data processing extensions and standard Microsoft .NET Framework data providers can be installed and registered by system administrators. So we can install and register the data processing extensions and data providers on the report server
to process and view a report; we can install and register them on the report authoring client to preview a report. But data processing extensions and data providers must be natively compiled for the platform where they are installed.

Do i need to transport the data source in r/3 from development to quality???

Before transporting transfer rule of std business content , make sure following sequence of steps.
1. Request containing all datasources are transported to quality Server .
2. Datasource have been replicated.
3. Request containing std business content objects should be transrpoted then after.
4. Request for Queries needs to be transported.

Greetings. In AS 2012 Tabular, I see that I have 3 existing connections. One connection is used as the source for most of the tables, but the other two connections are the source for one table each. I'd like to change the source for those two other
tables to use the main data connection, but can't figure out how?
My logical guess would be in the table properties, but that's not it.
Any ideas?

If your three data connections from different database, I don't think we can combine three data connections into one in Tabular model design surface. If you need to only use one data connection for your Tabular model, please try to combine your underlying
tables into one database.
Please point out if I have something misunderstood.

SAP XI 3.0 Same source for different target in std Value mapping function

Hi,
We have replicated 4 value mapping entries from R3 to XI having the same Context , Agency , Schema and value for source, but each of the 4 values has the same Context and Agency but different Schema and Value respectively.
To illusstate :

CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST1       A
CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST2       A
CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST3       B
This value mapping is not working and we always get the source value as the result.
We are wondering if the reason for this is that we use the same source for different targets. But we are not 100 % sure of it.
When I read the documentation on Value mapping or when we use the value mapping standard function in graphical mapping, we pass the context , agency and schema of the source and target respectively and the source value to get the target value, and this combination is always unique in our case as seen in the above example.
Has anyone faced this kind of an issue, if yes I would appreciate if anyone could help us resolve this problem.

From the below what I understand is that you are not able to do value mapping for the follwoing
1     A
2     A
3     B
As value mapping allow one to one mapping only. Please do it like as mentioned below
1     1*A
2     2*A
3     3*B
Then in the graphical mapping of Integration Repository do the mapping for the same as shown below
source field > VALUEMAPPING> UDF--> TARGET Field
In UDF suppress the value of 1* , 2* , 3* which can be done as follows
create one UDF with one input field
//write the code as below to suppress the field
return input.substring(2);
Here the davantage of using 1* , 2* , 3* etc is that you have the option to use value mapping for 100 values which I think is not normally the case for any Interface.
If you have same source you can do the same thing for that.

depends...
you can use one content source for both the web application - its just fine.
But... if you have specific requirements .. like you want to crawl both the web apps on different times ... or you want a different schedule for incremental crawl for both the web apps, then create two separate content source.
