Bluetooth dongle for apple trackpad not working..?
Hi, I recently got this for my macpro desktop 10.6.8 without built in bluetooth :

Can't seem to get it working with my Apple trackpad, not sure if it's the trackpad or the bluetooth in general.
Anyone got any tips on setting it up please? Tried all the usual setup mentions. I get this message in the network menu:

Ah ok, yeah removed the network settings.
Still not working. I've got fresh batteries in it. Pairing light is flashing on trackpad.

1080p for Apple Devices not working in Compressor
Was happy to see the new settings for the ATV3 in Compressor, but it doesn't work. I keep getting a qucktime error -108 about a third of the way into processing. Plenty of memory is showing in Activity Monitor.
I've tried both a short and long movie, with quickcluster turned on and off, both fail.
I've tried all the suggested fixes I can find. Reinstalling Compressor, Stop/Starting/Resetting sharing, deleting preferences.
The same movies work fine with the previous Apple TV/Device settings.
Share from FCPx to ATV3 works, but it extremely slow for the longer movies, and I want to use Compressor and the quickcluster.
Is anyone else having this problem.Some people (including me) have reported flakey changes in sharing after updating. (My issues, however, were broader than just Apple Device presets.)
If I understand your description correctly, sharing is working – just not for one preset – so it's questionable whether it's even Qmaster-related.
You've already tried the fixes I would have suggested – except you might also try Digital Rebellion's Compressor Repair.
Finally, take a look at this thread and see whether David's method works for you.

Microsoft Word (for Apple) dictionary not working
I have recently noticed that my dictionary on Word will not let me add new words to it, it previously allowed me to do so, it is on custom dictionary. I am not aware of having changed any of the settings.

My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you, the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now. -
Why is my Apple ID not working in iTunes or App Store on my iPhone? When I try to buy apps or music it asks for Apple ID so I enter my info and nothing happens. When I go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. When I enter my ID and password it does not save or link to account. I do not have this problem with iPad ID is stored and can be used in App Store and iTunes. I have just upgraded to 5c and it's still a problem.

When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.

Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store..
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store. See if that made a difference. -
Streaming Audio through Iphone 5 to desktop or laptop using bluetooth preinstalled on all devices not working. Help!!!. Does anybody else have this problem?. If So please help me its driving me demented seriously concidering to go to android for that sort of stuff cause of the dame restrictions on apple devices!
iOS devices do not pair with computers, as data transfer over bluetooth is not supported.
Computers are not airplay compatible unless you have downloaded an app to make them so.
User to user forum, so I don't care if you switch to android or any other threats you make. -
My Apple remote is not working with my MacBook. The Mac OS X 10.5 Help Knowledge Base says to go to Security > Systems > and Disable remote control infrared receiver. I don't have a systems button or box nor the checkbox to Disable remote control infrared receiver. And, my MacBook has an infrared receiver.

I have the same problem. When I update from TIger to Leopard the front row apple remote still working. But is been a long time the last time i used and now on 10.5.2 osx the apple remote not working as I imagine.
I read some answers that help me understand better the problem. My check box of "disable remote.."is unchecked and I saw a "pair" button and try to pair with my apple remote. The tips told me to HOLD "menu" and "next" buttons of apple remote to pair him with computer. And Works fine. So I try to push only Menu button (as I've done so many times on tiger) but still does not working. So I realize the command to "start front row from apple remote" now on Leopard 10.5.2 is MENU+NEXT buttons and does not anymore only menu button. For me works like this.
While I write this answer I try again push and hold only MENU button and after almost 2 or 3 seconds holding button appears on screen an virtual image of my apple remote signaling to replace the battery, may be now will be works only on push menu, but I need to change the battery first.

If you are updating from iOS 7+ to 7.0.4 then did you have Find My iPod enabled on it ? If you did then it might be asking for the password for your account when you set that 'on'. -

My apple ID not working in Apple Store, in iTunes work fine and with my iPhone work fine too but in my iMac only works in iTunes, App Store and iCloud say "Incorrect password or username", I reset my keychain with the same result. My OS is 10.7.4
In my iPhone I can acces to App Store, Itunes and iCloud but in my iMac only work in iTunes and online iCloud (icloud.com), the App Store and iCloud system say "Incorrect password or username" and never can loging.
My Apple ID its confirmed and I buy in iTunes perfect...
Please help, I have this problem for a long time...This is quite strange, as MAS is really the same store as iTS. It's the same account.
This issue has to be something else going on with your system, and not at the Store's end.
How about make a new user account for testing. And see what happens when you try to use your Apple ID through there. -

I had a similar issue, without the actual error message. If you can't get it running at all, you will be forced to do what I, and many others have done over the past 24 hours. You can restore your Apple TV to factory settings (you will then have to enter your ID, passwords, etc., to connect everything again--sigh--) by obtianing a Micro-USB cable (found one today at Best Buy for 5 bucks, available other places that sell electronics, etc.) disconnect your Apple TV, and connect it via the micro usb cable (which attaches in the back of the ATV) to your computer, plug the ATV power cord into the wall and open iTUnes. You can click the Apple TV on the left side of iTunes and click restore--it will not take too long on a decent internet connection, and it will automatically install the software update (you have no choice on this, BTW, you can't go back to the previous software, as Apple only supplies the new software online (sadly). Your ATV 3 should work and you can put it back to your TV and re-enter all your info and enjoy the new features. But if you are like me, you won't enjoy AirPlay, something seems to be wrong with that if you use an iPhone or iPad and have updated to IOS7--not sure which is the problem, or both, but be prepared for a little more frustration, but at least your ATV 3 will "work" mostly as it did before.
I hope this helps, it is frustrating, but it is resolveable with a little bit of time--not that I'm happy about it, either. -
Apple tv not working with panosonic TH-50PX75U old.
Apple tv not working with a 3-4 year old Panasonic TH50PX75U tv, works fine on all other tv's in the house. HDMI cables seem to be fine they work with the DVD and DVR. Ratio is set to auto, apple logo on screen when booting up then Goes away. Seen twice for a split,nano second the apple tv menu on screen. Then in upper left corner of tv a grey box appears with HDMI 2 appears. any help would be great... Thanks in advance, Tom

apple tv not working - message NO SIGNAL for this plasma. Was working before. Major difference a download from itunes 4 g movie yesterday. I have tried rebooting the apple device more than once. i eventually found a one-liner in THE APPLE MANUAL which fixed it.
i.e. Resetting the APPLE TV. The instruction was to use the silver small operating APPLE device,
HOLD DOWN THE MENU BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BLACK DOWN BUTTON UNTIL THE WHITE LIGHT ON THE APPLE TV STARTED BLINKING RAPID WHICH IT DID. I then released the pressure ON THE BUTTONS and within a few moments, the TV screen cleared and it started working again.
The interesting part is that I had thought a reset of the APPLE TV may have taken place when it was unplugged. BUT NO IT DID NOT.
Also, there was much helpful comment in the forums but not this simple solution which I found ON the WEBSITE APPLE MANUAL.
HOPE THE ABOVE IS CLEAR ENOUGH TO HELP OTHERS. Maggie 3/1/2015
