Bluetooth driver 6.5.1.4500 install issue

I downloaded latest ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows 7 Version 6.5.1.4500 but I had to rollback it to the previous version 6.5.1.2700 (X220, Windows 7 x64).
There were several Windows warnings about attempt to install an unsigned kernel driver during the installation. How can Lenovo even publish this ? The package also contains Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework installation that have installed unnecessary Extended (full) version of the framework during the setup while the Client Profile was already present on the machine. This leads to more security issues because Windows Update have to be performed to get security updates for the Extended (full) part of the Framework
This is already third Lenovo driver update I had to rollback in several last months. Is there any quality assurance department ? I can't remember such issues with Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad products in the past.

There's no such driver issue in this package. I've rechecked it to be sure. See below.
Likely you have a corrupted or altered download, or your your system is corrupted or infected.
Strongly recommend you scan your system and the download with multiple anti-malware products.
(Good malware products include Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, and HitmanPro 3.)
To check the download, here's the SHA-1 hash: 06794d733f19d69a273935fac0ceeb32651b0766
(A good hash tool for Windows is winhasher.)
(Lenovo should be publishing hashes for downloads, but that's another issue.)
Hope that helps,
John

  • T410s bluetooth driver update causing BSOD

A bluetooth driver update seems to be the cause of bluescreen crashes on my T410s running windows 7 64bit.  this has happened with all bluetooth driver updates I attempted to install in the past year.  a windows optional update installed a broadcom bluetooth driver which caused crashes. I unstalled the update and the system returned to normal. two lenovo updates had the same problem specifically: thinkpad bluetooth drivers 6.5.1.4500, and 6.2.1.3100.
for anyone having similar problems, I found that using the older 6.2.0.9421 bluetooth driver has resolved the issue.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.
Release notes mention anything that affects you?  No?  Skip it.

  • E5510 driver install issues with 6300 wifi and Bluetooth

I hope someone can help. I have an E5510 that the hard disk crashed on. When I reload the windows 7 disk and install all of the drivers I seem to have a conflict between the 6300 wifi driver and the bluetooth drivers. Everything looks good until I do the windows updates. Then the bluetooth goes away and I have a bunch of wifi driver errors in the device manager. you cant uninstall them.  Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi bwing777,
Thanks for the post! It sounds like the Windows update could have a ‘Microsoft recommended’ Bluetooth driver update included. I would suggest running a system restore or uninstalling the Bluetooth device, then double checking the device drivers being installed by Microsoft Update and preventing them from updating automatically.
For the recommended Dell drivers, and the order we suggest these drivers be installed, check out the guide below.

  • Can't Install bluetooth driver on Windows 8 64 bit. MSI GE620DX

I cant install the provided  Windows 8 64bit Bluetooth driver from the MSI download page. Tried many times, Reboot Uninstall current driver, install again, and ETC.
I had sent a question to MSI already, it's been a month already since I sent a ticket and I still got no update or fix from MSI Support.
Does MSI support usually take this long to provide fix or reply for this kind of issues? I felt disregarded cause I haven't got any reply aside from the advise to download the driver on the MSI download page; which is the driver that is not working. I've already sent them a message that It won't work. -_-
The Bluetooth function of my Laptop is useless as of now.
Does anyone here encountered a Driver problem similar to mine?

I finally got this fixed. I uninstalled all Bluetooth related drivers and programs using Ccleaner and clean all its traces in the registry as well, rebooted and tried installing the provided Bluetooth driver provided on the MSI Download Page and succeeded.

  • Bluetooth Driver Bootcamp Issue

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro with Windows 7 Ultimate installed.  Until recently I have had no problems using my might mouse through bluetooth in Windows 7. Today I booted into Windows and the mouse no longer works.  I messed around with it for awhile and eventually I went to device manager and realized my bluetooth adapter wasn't even showing up.  Bluetooth and mighty mouse still works fine back in Mac OS.  I unistalled bootcamp from my Windows 7 and reinstalled all of the drivers.  Still having the same issue.  Any suggestions?

I also got the same problem. No Bluetooth adapter in the device manager.
I also tried to install the driver via the old Hardware wizard:
    1. Starting C:/Windows/System32/hdwwiz.exe
    2. "Install the hardware that I &manually select from a list (Advanced)"
    3. "Show All Devices" - Next
    4. Wait a second for windows to load all the drivers
    5. Under Manufacturer, select "Apple Inc." and under Model, "Apple Bluetooth Driver"
    6. Message showing up:
"The software for this device is now installed, but may not work correctly.
This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
Now the Apple Bluetooth Adapter shows up in the device manager under "System devices" but with the status: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
After that, I also tried to restart. Nothing changed.
I also tried to install the Bluetooth Driver from the OSX Windows driver disk. Installed without problems but didn't solve the problem.
    Windows 7 64bit - up to date
    Bootcamp 3.3
    Macbook bought 2009
    Model Nr. A1181
Really looking forward for a solution on this problem.
    Regards
    EDIT:
A while back, my Bluetooth worked on windows. I used it to transfer files from my old phone to my macbook.
    EDIT2:
On Mac the Bluetooth adapter works flawless.

I grasp that you have installed the Bluetooth driver for your notebook but are unable to find Bluetooth options under PC settings.
When you checked Device Manager you are missing a PCI driver and have been unable to locate one.
When I checked the specifications for your notebook I see it came with FreeDos 2.0.

Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Step 7. Select "Microsoft" at "Manufacturer" list
Step 8. Finally select "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link"
If you are still unable to pair with a Bluetooth device try the following:
Step 1. Search for "Change device" in the Windows 8 Start menu.
Step 2. Click on where it says Change device installation settings.
Step 3. Select the No, let me choose what to do option.
Step 4. Check the automatically get the device app option
Step 5. Click Save changes to save the settings you just chose
As well you can try this
Step 1: Go to RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type “services.msc” and Enter
Step 2: Now find “Bluetooth Support Service” and double click on it
Step 3: Now click on Log On Tab and Type in "Local Service" without quotes
Step 4. Click on “This Account”
Step 5: Now remove any passwords leave the password field blank

  • 10.5.8 install issues on an external drive

I did a fresh install of Leopard onto an external drive I keep for emergencies (I never installed it there -- it's been on Tiger for a while) and ran the update after I booted with that as a startup drive. And now I don't have an external bootable drive. For whatever reason, it boots fine in 10.5, but after downloading the 10.5.8 update and restarting, it hung ad the white screen w/ the apple and spinning circle.
So I turned the computer off, did a fresh clean install (without saving network or user info) and rebooted. Again, no probs with 10.5. I installed all the updates (Quicktime, etc.) first and rebooted....no problem. In downloaded only that monster 10.5.8 update again and let it run through the install. Rebooted and went to bed. I came downstairs this morning to an alarmingly hot imac sitting on the white screen with an apple and spinning white circle. It stayed that way all night while I let the update install, and my imac was alarmingly hot to the touch when I checked it this morning.
For whatever reason, it doesn't seem to like being installed on this external hard drive.
Has anyone had success in installing 10.5.8 to an external drive? I'm trying to determine if it just doesn't like this drive or if this is an issue with the update. I'm leery of installing the 10.5.8 on the computers internal hard drive if I don't have a bootable drive I can use for diagnostics if needed.

I am seeing same problem in MBP. I upgraded to a 500GB HD in dec and kept the 250GB original HD as an external/lab/recover USB drive. All updates up to 10.5.7 work on both drives, and 10.5.8 works in the internal drive as well. But like Bryan's setup, the external USB drive won't finish upgrading to 10.5.8. Right after the second reboot it will hang onto spinning circle and after some messages about Mac OS X component in verbose mode. I'll get the messages later to this post.
To make sure I haven't an HD problem, I erased the partitions on it, recreated as GPT (as it was before) single HFS+ journalized partition, freash 10.5.6 install and comboed to 10.5.8 to the same fault. Original installation was from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8 via Software Update (which worked fine in my internal disk).
I also tried using another HD, a desktop 1TB (my Time Capsule archive mirror), erased all data and partitions, installed a fresh 10.5.6 again and ran combo ending up on same issue. Also, trying a small partition (50GB) won't fix this.
Still working on this problem but not more ideas up right now. I am expecting a firewire 400 case to be delivered this week and give a try.
    regards

  • Problem while installing bluetooth driver

I am using windows 7 ultimate OS in my dell Inspiron N5110. There is no Bluetooth icon in my control panel and because of that I cannot connect my Bluetooth devices to my laptop. While I was downloading Bluetooth driver from an external source a windows
popped out which says that Bluetooth adapter cannot be detected in your system. Is there any problem with my Bluetooth adapter hardware? Can anyone suggest me a way to get rid of this problem?  Thanking you in advance.

try uninstalling all the drivers you just installed for your printer and plug in your printer and run software update from the  on the upper left of the screen. if there are no drivers available for that, you might have to wait as suggested by your local apple tech.

  • Ideapad A720 Windows 8 Pro can't install the bluetooth driver

I upgraded to Windows 8 than went to the Lenovo site and down loaded a few of the drivers that it needs (primarily the NVIDIA video driver), however Windows 8 forced me to uninstall the Bluetooth driver before doing the upgrade.
Downloading the Bluetooth A720 Windows 8 driver from the support site doesn't seem to work.  You run the install, it unpacks than dies and does run.  trying to force the setup to run from the driver folder throws an error saying I am missing the blue tooth license.
Any guess here?  everything else seems to be work on Windows 8 great, multi-touch 27" is gorgeous just opening bing.com is a cool experience.

    Hi,
Have you tried these command to uninstall and reinstall the right key?
    slmgr.vbs /upk
    slmgr.vbs -ipk YOUR-ACTIVATION-KEY-HERE
    slmgr.vbs -ato
As I known, during clean installation of Windows 8 pro, we need to enter the product key.
What kind of Windows 8 pro did you try to install on your Windows 8 PC? Is this just a pro package? or full version?

I got the GX630 a week ago.... I tried turning on the Bluetooth and it tried to install the device but it couldn't find a driver when I pointed to the CDrom driver disk. I read the manual and browsed the MSI driver download page for the GX630 and no bluetooth driver is listed. The manual says the bluetooth is in combo with the modem. Does this mean the modem driver is used? Thanks in advance.

    Hi:
You install the corresponding bluetooth software and driver for the model wireless card that is installed in your notebook.
    For example...
If you have a Ralink wireless card, you install the Ralink bluetooth software and driver.
If you have an Atheros wireless card, you install the Atheros bluetooth software and driver.
    etc.
