Bluetooth GPRS telephone timing connection

I changed my old Powerbook 15" for a new one. The serial numbers of the "Old" and the "New" are given below. The Old powerbook had an external D-Link Bluetooth and the New has a built in one.
New: Mac Powerbook 15" version 2005
Serial Number W8541NLXSWZ
Old: Mac Powerbook 15" Alu version 2002
Serial Number QT30728DN4M
I definitely have a problem with the new Blutooth device.
Actually, I am using this device for a unique purpose: when travelling once a week for a 4 hours train trip, from home to work, I am using my Blutototh T68i SonyEricsson mobile telephone to get connected via GPRS to my mail box and internet and AIM to keep in touch with my collaborators.
With my old PB and connection I could stay connected for the whole trip whaterver was the level of connection low or high.
Now with the new PB, the GPRS connection is only kept for something like 2-3 mn of inactive transmission or reception.
This is not coming from the telephone company providing the internet connection, my two PB are working, can use the same telephone and only the new PB exhibits this "feature".
My com.apple.Bluetooth.plist looks like that.

I know a colleague that has written a little script to keep the connection awake, but I think this parameter can be set somewhere.
But I guess that the key to myproblem is in one of the parameters above. Which one?
The problem is especially annoying because since few months I am using a vpn connection and when the blutooth deconnects the internet connexion everything has to be started up again, every 2-3 mn !!!!!
I have read also on MacNN Forums > Hardware - Troubleshooting and Discussion > PowerBook > Bluetooth hardware suddenly not found - 17" pb
that blued.plist could/sould be removed in /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/ but I did not find any blued.plist.

I have to correct you. GPRS is very wired when it comes to computer connections. Rather than a network fault it is a mobile phone fault. You do not talk PPP with the network but with a GPRS/UMTS modem. It is like dialling into a network provider but rather you communicate with your phone's PPP software stack.
Because a phone has limited memory and this was a new area for mobile phone designers, buggy PPP stacks were created and included on mobile phones.
All mobile phones will disallow TCP/IP header compression. It makes no sense because the computer to phone interface (Bluetooth, USB or PC Card) is not a bottleneck as usual. However, most are able to negotiate this correctly. If you enable this setting, the phone will tell Mac OS X's PPP something like: "No, I do not have that feature. Please do not use it." However, sometimes the answer of the phone is not understandable to Mac OS X and the connection fails at all. So changing this setting has no effect at all.
PPP echo is another beast. Personally, I see no reason for it. Apple seems to love it to get better "connection is dropped" error messages. However, again this can cause much trouble with bad PPP software stacks as found on GPRS/UMTS phones.
There are even some bad PPP stacks out there, which do not forward the correct IP addresses to Mac OS X (like with early Sony Ericsson GPRS PC Card firmwares). Then it gets really complicated…

  • Windows 8.1 and Apple Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard connection

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.0 Home and as a result I'm experiencing the following problems:
Apple Bluetooth Mouse - randomly dis/connects or freezes where I cannot move the mouse or it's very jerky or very slow.
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - the keys will stick or freeze causing the redundent key presses (eg. yyyyyyyyeeeeeee).
I've done the following to fix the problem with no success:
    Reinstall Boot Camp 5.0.5033 drivers
Reinstalled Bluetooth drivers from Boot Camp 5.0.533 individually
Unistalled both devices on OS X and reinstall them only on Windows 8.1
Reinstalling both on OS X and reinstalling them on Windows 8.1
Uninstalling all the drivers from the Device Manager and reinstalling them
One thing I have noticed is that under Devices and Printers I have two new devices (HID-compliant mouse and HID Keyboard Device) that were not there under Windows 8.0 in addition to my bluetooth devices.  I have tried removing the new devices but they keep reinstalling themselves.
I have USB mouse that's connected and I've been able to use that without problems so I think there's a problem with the Apple driver or the Windows 8.1 bluetooth drivers.
    Has anyone fixed this?
    Thanks!

Just to point out the "Bluetooth Collaboration" setting I've found this:
Bluetooth Collaboration enables general purpose input/output transmit suppression protocol between the IEEE 802.11 media access control (MAC) and an external Bluetooth chip to minimize transmit interference. Bluetooth Collaboration is enabled by default.
And it is not enabled by default on some devices like on mine!

  • Targus bluetooth mouse will not connect in bootcamp

I have a Targus blueetooth mouse that will not connect in bootcamp. It has worked fine for a long time in XP and 7. Then I upgraded the haddrive and had to do a lean install of Windows 7 and the Apple bootcamp 5. Now it will not connect at all. I have the "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth" seleted , it sees the mouse but it tries to connect and just stalls. This is very frustrating since without the mouse it is nearly impossible to troubleshoot Windows.

Bluetooth mouse will not connect my wireless mouse...
    what works +every time+ for me :
use your fingers to move the cursor up to the bluetooth icon (top right of display)
click bluetooth icon, select user mouse / connect
then quickly move the cursor up (with fingers) so it touches or is very close to the bluetooth icon
and start clicking with your mouse (making sure the mouse is on obviously).
I have NO idea why but this works on my MacBookPro everytime. If I try to connect without moving the cursor near the BT icon it won't connect (or takes at least 10 trys).

I am having issue with iphone 5 bluetooth , not able to connect to my honda CRV

Don't know if you could consider this an Apple issue. I know you are probably frustrated, and I am not defending Apple here, just saying that the iPhone does not update to support individual automobiles, the automobile manufactures update to support the Bluetooth profiles. The iPhone has the latest Bluetooth stack and supports a number of things. Problems generally revolve around the manufacturer not supporting the lastest Bluetooth version and have to update their systems. Check with Honda, they are probably aware of this, and if you search the forum, you will find a number of posts regarding the CR-V.

  • TS3048 The keypad is not registering with my macbook pro - changed batteries but still not working.  Bluetooth says it is connected.  Suggestions please.

My bluetooth numeric keypad is not registering with my macbook pro - changed the batteries when the light started blinking - but won't work.  Bluetooth says it is connected.
    Suggestions please.

Your MBP sees the Bluetooth keyboard but won't pair with it probably because the keyboard is pairing with another computer or device nearby. If you had previously paired the same keyboard with another device, go to the other computer or device and either unpair it or have the device "forget" the keyboard. Then you will be able to pair the keyboard with your MBP.

my iphone 5 is not finding any bluetooth divises. trying to connect to bluetooth hands free but its not searching the divice. what do i do to connect bluetooth headset.

have you tried toggling bluetooth off/on again? if so, try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If you still can't detect or pair with any compatible bluetooth device you should offer the device for service.
If you're not able to restore the device, this one might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using his article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
    Good luck
