Bluetooth Hardware for my notebook DV6

I have a Pavilion Notebook DV6 PC.
Problem 1: From Day 1 the audio of this notebook is absolutely pathetic. Unless you have a headphone or speakers, one cannot hear anything.
Is there anyway to get the audio systems enhanced?
Problem 2: I purchased a blue tooth enabled wireless speakers. My laptop does not have the blue tooth feature. Steps I took now to get it up and running: a) Install Broadcom Blue tooth drivers. Issue: Bluetooth still does not come up in the list of wireless adapaters. b) Intel WIFI technology is disabled. Issue: Does not enable. Not sure what to do? Do I need to enable it so my bluetooth will be installed properly. c) Where can i find Bluetooth hardware to install it on my laptop Issue: i cannot find it in the HP site. d) Does the Bluetooth hardwares come with the softare drivers too?
Problem 3: Is this the right forum to state my problems?
Any help would be aprpeciated,
Uma

  • Requirement for bluetooth hardware

Perhaps something very simple is eluding me, but WHY do some files/"applications" require bluetooth hardware to be opened? I don't see any relationship between some of these and wireless connectivity.

I have Mac Pro 2007, which have no bluetooth hardware. What should I do to use Apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse??? Can 'third party's internal bluetooth card' be used for this purpose? Help me please...

You can find the Apple Bluetooth card on eBay for as little ten dollars (says its for the 2008 model Mac Pro, not sure about the 2007).
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-Board-iMac-and-Mac-Pro-922-8233-922-8233-/1208 49278570
Here is a link to a full explanation of the card and how to install it. Part numbers may differ a bit as that is an old article and newer models have come out.
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems/Mac_Pro/Bluetooth_MacPro_install/Bluetooth_Ma cPro_install.html
Just make sure that the part will work in your model Mac Pro. To that end, you may be better off avoiding eBay and going to a parts reseller. There are even third party cards that use the internal Apple bluetooth slot.

In theory, using a USB or PCI card will work at login so long as it is recognized by Apples drivers. You say you need to launch an application to use your current USB Bluetooth dongle? If it is not controlled by the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar then it must be using a third party driver of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know off hand which USB and PCI cards are supported.

    Hello
I was unable to find the drivers searching with your product and model number as well.
I was able to keep searching and found this link and it was under our business site support. This is the drivers for your unit series and you should be able to download the fingerprint reader drivers from the link.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Does HP offer an unlocked bios for entertainment notebooks?

Model is a dv6 3240ca entertainment notebook. Bios is up to to date with v. f.29. The settings are super limted. About the only thng it offers is USB boot option and hardware scanning.
My other notebook, a probook 4510s has a much more dynamic bios with many more options.
Is there a download available for the dv6 with unlocked bios?
I am very reluctant to resort to mods as I've heard many horror stories!

  • Wifi and Bluetooth Hardware not getting detected

Hi, I need help from HP. Wifi and Bluetooth hardware on my laptop are not getting detected. I have installed the drivers properly but the hardware  itself is not detected when I start the notebook. The wifi had problems initially but then it worked fine for sometime and now it is not detected at all. Same is the problem with bluetooth also. The hardware is not visible in the device manager itself. Please let me know the possible problems and also help me with the solution. Thank You. Model - HP Compaq 15s001-tuOS - Windows 7 64 bit.

Since the wifi and bluetooth functions come from the same mini-pcie card it seems likely it has failed.  This is the Service Manual: Your Manual See p. 61. Unfortunately getting to the module requires extensive disassembly, but short of removing the motherboard.  The wireless module itself will be very inexpensive. But you may need to pay somebody to install it.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

    Hi:
    You are correct.
The specs for the HP ENVY 15-j006cl Notebook PC indicate wireless only.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03942496&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
If you use bluetooth, you should be able to easily swap out the existing wlan card with one that also has bluetooth, listed in chapter 3 on pages 25-26 of the service manual.

I would not get the Mediatek model.  Lots of connectivity problems.
Give the choices listed, if it were me, I would opt for the Intel 2230.
    Specs on the card.
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/centrino-wireless-n-2230.html
None of the cards listed are dual band (2.4/5.0 GHz) cards.
You can get one on ebay for cheap.

  • After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones.  The headphones work fine with other devices.  I haven't moved to ios7 yet.  Any ideas?

After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones.  The headphones work fine with other bluetooth devices.  I haven't moved to iOS7 yet.  Any ideas?

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.

  • Can't Install XP Pro (32bit) on to an HP Notebook dv6 (intel) i7 machine

I'm trying to load XP Pro on to a HP Notebook dv6 i7 7000.
I did the required slipstream OS-CD addition of the SATA AHCI drivers, which allowed me to get past the common

At this point it shows that screen for about 4 seconds then the whole system shuts down.
The keys do not respond during that 4 seconds.  I don't know what to do from here.

  • Mac Mini Bluetooth hardware problems ?

I own a Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo 1Gb bought last October, an Apple wireless keyboard and an Apple wireless mouse, both I formerly use without any problems with my old Powerbook G4. By now, I used them with my Mac Mini it worked perfectly fine. But since two or three weeks, I’ve got big Bluetooth connection problem. Randomly, after one or two hours of use, both keyboard and mouse loose connection and the Bluetooth symbol change itself into a strange one. I had a look on your site to learn the meaning of it and the symbol is see which is a Bluetooth symbol with a horizontal zebra means that no Bluetooth hardware can be found! Does my Mac Mini built-in Bluetooth card have problems?
Since I haven’t got any wired USB keyboard or mouse I have to reboot my Mac Mini quite roughly. Sometimes one reboot is enough to make the Bluetooth of Mac Mini to work again, sometimes not and I have to wait a little bit more (more than ten minutes). I can see it works again as the Bluetooth symbol is the right one again (the one with the dots).
It is very annoying. And I am a bit sad to have such problems with Apple stuff. Is there something I could do to avoid such a waste of time? Or shall I call Apple Care for fear it should be a hardware problem.
Of course, I use brand new batteries for both of them.

My mini is doing it as well. Just started doing 2-3 weeks ago. Logitech Denovo or Apple Bluetooth. Doesn't matter which. Loses it in about an hour or so. Al Keyboards and mice were purchased at about the same time as the core 2 duo mini, ~ last October.
Must power cycle the machine to get it back and it must be paired again. Very annoying. Can't remember if it coincides with an Apple update.
This mini has had the superdrive replaced twice, once within 6 weeks of purchase. Ever since Leopard, it's been close to the best media head. now this...
    Sigh.
(What makes it not the best? Frontrow doesn't sort titles correctly [1, 10, 2, 3 - wrong!], doesn't force mount aliases in the movies directory, doesn't put out 1080p without hacking. And I'd so love eyeTV integration with Frontrow. It'd be perfect then.)

  • What is the latest motherboard for a Pavilion DV6-2020ev?

Hi, my motherboard on my Pavilion DV6-2020ev failed due to overheating. The current MB part number is  "574902-001"  followed by "7F0994". The processor is an i7 (1.6Ghz). Instead of getting the same board, I was wondering if there was a later MB that can work. Does anyone know? Unfortunately the dealer cannot help and will only replace with the same part number -(
    thanks,
    arjogie

The motherboard listed is the right one listed for dv6-20xx notebook. Just ensure that you download the latest BIOS update for your notebook from the software and driver download page on www.hp.com once you have replaced the MB.

  • What's the maximum RAM for this notebook (ze2000)?

    Hello,
i want to find out, what's the max memory for notebook ze2000 (p/n: EF062EA#ABU)
    Andrius
    LTU

    Hi:
According to the service manual for your notebook at the link below, maximum is 2 x 512 MB for 1 GB.
    Chapter 1, page 1-3.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00400869.pdf
I would run the free Crucial Memory scanner and see what it reports.  1 GB seems pretty low for the hardware in your notebook.

  • [Solved] bluetooth hardware switch - Thinkpad T400

    Hello,
I've got a Thinkpad T400 with integrated bluetooth, but I don't really use bluetooth, so I want to disable it to save battery power.
I figured out, how to disable it via laptop-mode-tools on startup, but when I use the hardware switch for Wlan and bluetooth to turn my Wlan on and off again bluetooth starts up again.
I also figured out that I can disable bluetooth via "echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/thinkpad_acpi/bluetooth_enable".
I want to put that command in a script, that is only executed, when the bluetooth hardware is detected.
Now I'm wondering if any of you guys knows some script, like that.
I've already had a look at the udev files, but I couldn't figure out which one will do the job.
Maybe it's the wrong way and there is a lot easier solution.
Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated,
    David

I do this for disabling Bluetooth on my X220 ThinkPad using Fn + F9.
    I created the file /etc/acpi/actions/bluetooth.sh
    #!/bin/bash
    BT_RFKILL=$(rfkill list | grep tpacpi_bluetooth_sw | sed 's/\([0-9]\+\):.*/\1/')
BT_STATE=$(/usr/sbin/rfkill list $BT_RFKILL | grep "Soft blocked: yes")
    if [ "x" == "x$BT_STATE" ]; then
    /usr/sbin/rfkill block $BT_RFKILL
    else
    /usr/sbin/rfkill unblock $BT_RFKILL
    fi
    exit 0
    And the file /etc/acpi/events/bluetoothconf
    event=button/f24.*
    action=/etc/acpi/actions/bluetooth.sh
    Restart acpid.
    # systemctl restart acpid.service
Now I press Fn + F9 to toggle bluetooth off and on.
Rfkill needs to be installed for this to work.
