Bluetooth hardware hdx 16t 1200

I can't find bluetooth in my device manager. I recently couldn't find my biometrics fingerprint scanner either but found a solution on the forums and it appeared. Is there a way to download the hardware or is there a fix. I wiped my computer and fresh installed windows 7 ultimate twice. I just cant find a way to restore the bluetooth hardware on the device manager. Any help would be awesome.

Hello chsher01,
I understand you are having issues with your Bluetooth not showing up in your Device Manager. If you could post which wireless devices is installed in your computer I can attempt to find you the correct driver. The fact that this is a CTO unit means that the installed hardware may be different from the standard unit.
Please re-post with either a screen shot of your Device Manager showing your Wireless device or indicating the name of the device in your post. Thank you posting this issue on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HDX 16t issues with HD ST9500420AS

    I purchased my HDX 16t 1200 back in late June 2008. It (currently) runs Windows 7 Professional 64bit and has 4GB of RAM and has anIntel P7450 2.13ghz processor. From the very beginning I had issues, the keyboard suddenly freaked out on me as well as the touchpad and I had to send it back for replacements on both those parts. Then pixels in the middle of the screen died, but not enough to warrant a return for a replacement. Then the hard drive inexplicably began to fail and I had to get it replaced. The replacement I received as a 500gb, 7200rpm ST9500420AS. For a few hours it worked fine but then I began to notice a sequence of clicks and beeps coming from where the hard drive is placed. This happens randomly but if I am doing graphical work, playing a game or watching a video when the clicks occur there will be a visible hang:
    "Click" -Game/video stops moving or Word Processing stops recording what I type- "Click" -Back to normal-. Sometimes I also hear beeps coming from the drive. The drive has passed all the regular tests, SMART and both Short and Long DST. But the problem persists.
    I've already called into HP support and they will be replacing the replacement drive and I asked that they test the replacement before they send it out to me - which they agreed to do.
    Now I did a bit of research on my own as to this issue and I found that the click-lag-click (and beeping) issues are extremely common with the replacement hard drive's model. Seagate is aware of the issue but has not released anything to fix it. So far only Apple users have a fix, direct from apple. My concern is that my replacement's replacement will be the same model or will have the same issue. This "top of the line" laptop has really been more trouble than it's worth and I don't have time to keep switching parts in and out. Is anyone else having this issue? If so have you found any fixes?

    The clicking has become incrementally worse and I was assigned a Case Manager with HP. However I have been waiting a week and a half just to speak with them (they called me as I was heading out the door and I gave them hours during which I could be reached: "anytime after 1:30 pm pst). I have not been called. I was told by someone who works at HP that there was no way I could simply return this laptop for a refund and that the best I could hope for was that they would send me a new laptop. However none of HP's curren laptops have what I need, they either lack a full size keyboard, a backlit keyboard, dedicated video or sound cards, or a high-def display at 1080. I am considering just contacting my credit card company and a Lawyer specializing in lemon law as this is literally the 5th replacement done to this laptop in the last 6-7 months and things keep malfunctioning. I would really prefer just to return this laptop for a full refund and be done with it but no one has gotten back to me either here or on the phone.
    Also: The CD drive is now shaking wildly and I'm outright not using the laptop anymore - Using the HP Desktop I had to pay to reformat/replace the harddrive on myself when it got out of warranty.

  • Upgrading HDX 16t GPU. Need to know which ones fit and work.

    I'm looking into upgrading the medium level graphics card HP pawned off on me when I ordered my HDX16. If I remember there was one other option when choosing my GPU when I ordered this, and I was wondering if maybe that would fit, or what fits at all, or if it can be upgraded at all. Any infomation would be greatly appreciated.

    OK, good news and bad news.  The bad news is that the GPU is soldered into the motherboard (I know because I just took this whole thing apart to upgrade the Processor).  This means that to replace the GPU (Video Card), you need to get the motherboard.   I don't know the part numbers, but HP will be able to give that stuff to you.
    The good news is that the video card may be upgrade-able.  The NVidia GT-130M with 1024MB dedicated memory is the best option that the HDX 16T comes with... I know because I specifically purchased it since I knew I would run into what you've run into.
    Unfortunately, unlike desktops, the laptop video cards are either soldered like HP, or like Dell, they only have very specific cards that will work in them (has to do with the shape of the card, and the type of plug).  The more bad news is that a replacement motherboard will probably run you a good $300+... If you're resourceful you can put your old board on ebay and recoup some of that back.

    Hp HDX 16t laptop Windows vista home prem, 64 bit, 4 gig ram, (512) 9600m gt nvidia geforce video card.
    Hi I have a hp hdx 16t laptop, hooked it up to philips 52 inch LED tv via an  hdmi cable and get video on tv but no audio.  Only sound from laptop, My tv is set to computer hdmi 1 and all drivers up tp date.  I have goolged numerous solutions and none have worked.  If anybody has the time, a solution would be just great.. jd.

    If you have the the video drivers installed for your notebook's chipset and the discrete video module then you should see something similar to the folowing image. This is on my loaner HP Pavilion dv7-4180ea. When I connect the notebook to my Philips HDTV the operating system switches to HDMI audio after I direct the video to the TV with the function keys on the notebook.

  • Mac Mini Bluetooth hardware problems ?

    I own a Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo 1Gb bought last October, an Apple wireless keyboard and an Apple wireless mouse, both I formerly use without any problems with my old Powerbook G4. By now, I used them with my Mac Mini it worked perfectly fine. But since two or three weeks, I’ve got big Bluetooth connection problem. Randomly, after one or two hours of use, both keyboard and mouse loose connection and the Bluetooth symbol change itself into a strange one. I had a look on your site to learn the meaning of it and the symbol is see which is a Bluetooth symbol with a horizontal zebra means that no Bluetooth hardware can be found! Does my Mac Mini built-in Bluetooth card have problems?
    Since I haven’t got any wired USB keyboard or mouse I have to reboot my Mac Mini quite roughly. Sometimes one reboot is enough to make the Bluetooth of Mac Mini to work again, sometimes not and I have to wait a little bit more (more than ten minutes). I can see it works again as the Bluetooth symbol is the right one again (the one with the dots).
    It is very annoying. And I am a bit sad to have such problems with Apple stuff. Is there something I could do to avoid such a waste of time? Or shall I call Apple Care for fear it should be a hardware problem.
    Of course, I use brand new batteries for both of them.

    My mini is doing it as well. Just started doing 2-3 weeks ago. Logitech Denovo or Apple Bluetooth. Doesn't matter which. Loses it in about an hour or so. Al Keyboards and mice were purchased at about the same time as the core 2 duo mini, ~ last October.
    Must power cycle the machine to get it back and it must be paired again. Very annoying. Can't remember if it coincides with an Apple update.
    This mini has had the superdrive replaced twice, once within 6 weeks of purchase. Ever since Leopard, it's been close to the best media head. now this...
    Sigh.
    (What makes it not the best? Frontrow doesn't sort titles correctly [1, 10, 2, 3 - wrong!], doesn't force mount aliases in the movies directory, doesn't put out 1080p without hacking. And I'd so love eyeTV integration with Frontrow. It'd be perfect then.)

  • HDX-16T firewire not working properly with camcorder

    I hope someone can help me get this issue resolved. I've been trying to look for a solution for months! I was given the HDX-16T 1200CTO for christmas. An upgrade disc to Windows 7 64-bit came with it, so I installed it (up from Vista 64). When I tried to capture video from my Sony HDR-HC5 camcorder to my computer via my firewire cable, no data was transmitted. I tried several different video editing programs, including windows movie maker. None of them seems to work with the capture. According to the device manager, the firewire port is working properly. My camera can be controlled through the computer so they are obviously connected. I just can't seem to capture video from the tape. Capture works fine on my old windows xp desktop, so the camcorder is not the problem. I tested this with 2 different firewire cables with the same result, so the problem isn't the cable either. Like an idiot, I did not test the firewire port before the Windows 7 upgrade, so I'm not sure if the upgrade itself is the issue. A major reason I wanted a new computer was so that I could edit video. Because the firewire port isn't working properly, I'm having to capture from the old computer and transport it via external hard drive to my laptop, which frankly is a pain in the @$$. I would appreciate any help.
    P.S. I all my IEEE 1394 drivers are up to date. I have also tried everything suggested on this page.

    I just bought a new HP DV7-3188cl laptop with I5 processor, 6GB of mem and a built in firewire interface.  My primary purpose of buying this laptop was for video editing.  Sounds like I have the same problem as you.  My Sony HDR-HC5 HD camcorder connects to the laptop, and I am able to control the camera (stop, rewind, etc.) however whenever I try to capture video from the camera, there is no data sent, even though the camera begins to play the video with no problems.  I have an older dell running windows XP and I have no problems.  By the way, I have noticed that if I use Sony's capture software, that it will automatically stop the capture if more than 10 seconds of no data is detetected.  If after the capture program has stoped because of this "no data transfer problem", I restart the capture, with the option set to restart from the beginning of tape, the camera will rewind, and when the capture begins the 2nd time, about 80% of the time it will capture data correctly.  I have never been able to get Corel or any of the other pre installed programs to capture data through the firewire interface on this new HP laptop
    Were you successful in finding a solution to your problem.  If I cannot solve this problem, I suspect the laptop goes back to Sams.
    Thanks
    John

  • [Solved] bluetooth hardware switch - Thinkpad T400

    Hello,
    I've got a Thinkpad T400 with integrated bluetooth, but I don't really use bluetooth, so I want to disable it to save battery power.
    I figured out, how to disable it via laptop-mode-tools on startup, but when I use the hardware switch for Wlan and bluetooth to turn my Wlan on and off again bluetooth starts up again.
    I also figured out that I can disable bluetooth via "echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/thinkpad_acpi/bluetooth_enable".
    I want to put that command in a script, that is only executed, when the bluetooth hardware is detected.
    Now I'm wondering if any of you guys knows some script, like that.
    I've already had a look at the udev files, but I couldn't figure out which one will do the job.
    Maybe it's the wrong way and there is a lot easier solution.
    Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated,
    David

    I do this for disabling Bluetooth on my X220 ThinkPad using Fn + F9.
    I created the file /etc/acpi/actions/bluetooth.sh
    #!/bin/bash
    BT_RFKILL=$(rfkill list | grep tpacpi_bluetooth_sw | sed 's/\([0-9]\+\):.*/\1/')
    BT_STATE=$(/usr/sbin/rfkill list $BT_RFKILL | grep "Soft blocked: yes")
    if [ "x" == "x$BT_STATE" ]; then
    /usr/sbin/rfkill block $BT_RFKILL
    else
    /usr/sbin/rfkill unblock $BT_RFKILL
    fi
    exit 0
    And the file /etc/acpi/events/bluetoothconf
    event=button/f24.*
    action=/etc/acpi/actions/bluetooth.sh
    Restart acpid.
    # systemctl restart acpid.service
    Now I press Fn + F9 to toggle bluetooth off and on.
    Rfkill needs to be installed for this to work.

    You can find the Apple Bluetooth card on eBay for as little ten dollars (says its for the 2008 model Mac Pro, not sure about the 2007).
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-Board-iMac-and-Mac-Pro-922-8233-922-8233-/1208 49278570
    Here is a link to a full explanation of the card and how to install it. Part numbers may differ a bit as that is an old article and newer models have come out.
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems/Mac_Pro/Bluetooth_MacPro_install/Bluetooth_Ma cPro_install.html
    Just make sure that the part will work in your model Mac Pro. To that end, you may be better off avoiding eBay and going to a parts reseller. There are even third party cards that use the internal Apple bluetooth slot.
    http://fastmac.com/bluetooth.php
    In theory, using a USB or PCI card will work at login so long as it is recognized by Apples drivers. You say you need to launch an application to use your current USB Bluetooth dongle? If it is not controlled by the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar then it must be using a third party driver of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know off hand which USB and PCI cards are supported.

  • Requirement for bluetooth hardware

    Perhaps something very simple is eluding me, but WHY do some files/"applications" require bluetooth hardware to be opened? I don't see any relationship between some of these and wireless connectivity.

    Hi,
    To be able to answer your first 2 questions, we need to know what is the model/product of your machine (DV6 is a series of hundreds or even thousands of models/products). Please use the following way to find out:

    No it does not. It predates USB 3.0 by quite a bit. You can add usb 3.0 ports with the expresscard slot and an add-in card.
