Bluetooth headphones: Bose AE2w failed to pair

Hi! I'm a ower of a bluetooth headphones / headset, Bose AE2w. I can not pair with the headphones.
I'm using blueman-manager to pair. The headphones are detected but not connected. The message is: "Device Added successfuly, but failed to connect". Then, the only error that I can see is: "Connection Failed: DBusFailedError: No such file or directory..."
I do not know how to pair the headphones / headset.

I had a very similar issue. If your system uses pulse audio for sound, I may have a clue to the problem.
Read my previous post. I think it may be relevant to you:
Hi,
Some time ago, my Bluetooth headset used to work fine with my Arch install consisting of gnome-de , pulseaudio and blueman. But around 16 May it stopped working properly. The connection would get established with the headset and then immediately disconnect. I didn't try too hard to diagnose the issue.
Today, when I read the news about Pulseaudio split , I suspected my issues might have been due to this.
When I checked my installed packages, it did not have the pulseaudio-bluetoth package installed. Installing the package and restarting magically solved my problem.
Thought I'll share this so others with similar situation might be helped.
Cheers
Please let me know if it works or not.

  • My bluetooth headphones/-set problem?

So, I bought these bluetooth headphones with a mic, I pair them with my Macbook.
It says I can use it as audio in and audio out.
But when I go to System Preferences, the headphones appear as Bluetooth Headset and Bluetooth Headphones. The microphone won't work unless I choose the Headset, but then the bluetooth connection crashes.
When I go to audio-in, I see my built-in microphone and the bluetooth microphone. The problem comes when I choose the microphone. It gives me an error Bluetooth sound failed.
I have to pair it every time just to get the normal sound to work, but my Mac just won't connect to the microphone?

The type of headphone you describe can be used either as a headset or headphones, that's why you're given that choice. Connecting as headphones will give you better sound quality for music, whereas connecting as a headset will enable the mic for telephony, but the sound quality will be degraded.
In addition to selecting the bluetooth device option, you may also need to go into the sound settings in System Preferences with it connected and make sure it's selected as the audio input and output device.
Otherwise, bluetooth dropouts are an unfortunate but fairly frequent occurrence with OS X bluetooth. You might try deleting it from the bluetooth devices list and then pair it and go through the setup again.

  • Macbook Air to forget my bluetooth headphones

I once paird my bluetooth headphones with a Macbook Air. The headphones have been removed from the bluetooth devices. The Macbook Air has been wiped, and OS X reinstalled. Cleared PRAM, but every time I turn on my bluetooth headphones, the Air prompts to pair.
There are several Mac's in the office, and this only happens with the one that I once paired with.  ANY idea on how to make this Air forget about these headphones????
    Thanks!

  • Bose bluetooth headphones pairing issue

I have an iPhone 5 32Gb and an iPad 3 32Gb.  I had both running iOS 7.1 and my Bose Bluetooth headphones worked exactly as they should.  One of the great features of these is that they can pair to the iPhone and iPad at the same time, meaning that I can watch a video on my iPad and when the iPhone rings, it rings through the headphones and pauses the video.
Since upgrading both devices to iOS 7.1.1, I can only pair to one of them at a time.  Let's say that I am paired to my iPad, but now want to use my headphones to listen to music on my iPhone.  I now have to go into Bluetooth on my iPhone, have it forget the Bose headphones and then repair.  If I want to go back to my iPad, I have to go through the same process for the headphones to work on that device.
Has anyone else come across this issue?  From briefly looking at this forum, Apple seems to have made a mess of Bluetooth in this iOS release.  Any ideas on a fix?

I actually did both iPhone and iPad tethered to iTunes. I favour doing this instead of OTA.  The iPhone was a replacement from Apple and immediately updated through iTunes to iOS 7.1.1.
@Peter Gillespie, are you using an iPhone and iPad with your AE2?

  • What Bluetooth transmitter is compatible with Bose ae2w headphones

I want to be able to control my 2nd generation shuffle using my Bose AE2w Bluetooth headphones &/or plantronics backbeat go2 stereo Bluetooth headset. Anyone have a suggestion for a compatible Bluetooth transmitter?

There is no way to control a 2nd gen shuffle remotely.

  • Bose bluetooth headphones jumping on music

i have just bought a pair of Bose sound link bluetooth headphones for use with iphone 6 but they have an annoying habit of jumping during songs, maybe once twice or more during one song maybe not at all. It only hapens with music player and not on utube, Amazon instant or on any other Bluetooth device including when I turn Bluetooth of on phone and plug a Bluetooth transmiter in and play music through that. It's doing my head in, Bose can't explain it. Help me please someone.

  • Has anyone found bluetooth headphones that successfully pair with Apple Watch (not Beats)

I've been trying to pair the Apple Watch with a few different bluetooth headphones including LG and Kinivo without success. Not really interested in buying another set of bluetooth headphones or dropping $200 on them. Any one have success pairing Apple Watch with any bluetooth device?

I have the Jaybird Bluebuds X and while I did get them to pair with the Watch, it required me to tell my iPhone 6 to forget the device. Normally I have it paired in Bluetooth settings to both my iPad Mini and iPhone, and while it attempt to pair with the last paired device, just going into Bluetooth Settings  and tapping connect will switch device.
But apparently that won't work with the Watch - as I said I had to tell the iPhone to forget this device first.
But what annoyed me even more was after getting it to pair with the Watch, when I attempted to play music using the Glances music app, the music played through the iPhone speaker. Sort of understand this as I don't have any music synced to my Watch and generally have the Bluebuds paired directly to the iPhone.
Not sure if I did something wrong - might get around to playing around with it again.

  • Need help pairing Jarv Nmotion BTHL-201 bluetooth headphones

    Hello...
I just received my Jarv Nmotion BTHL-201 bluetooth headphones and my iPhone 4s (I have not done the most recent IOS update) and the phone is not finding the  bluetooth headphones.
I followed the directions -  completely charged the headphones and then tried to pair.  My phone just keeps searching but never finds the headphones.
Any suggestions? ( I have tried it several times. Turned the phone off completely, then powered it back and tried again - all to no avail).
    Thanks.
    - Jill

Never mind!!  Pilot error. Came to my senses - it works!  Great set of headphones

  • No pairing a philips bluetooth headphones to a new macbook air

I have a new macbook air with OS lion and philips bluetooth headphones model SHB6 100/5. The headphones are recongnised and connect to the laptop but would not pair. Any idea about how to solve that problem?

    Welcome to Apple Communities
You need Mac App Store to download OS X, and it's only in Macs, so you have to download 10.8 in the MacBook

  • Has anyone tried to pair the Tzumi bluetooth headphones to their iMac?  My iMac will detect the device, connect to it for about 2 seconds, then shows a status of "not connected".  Multiple attempts get the same result.

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Can I pair and use two bluetooth headphones (Jabra Halo2) to play movies off my iMac?

The wife and I are in search of a solution to watch streaming content off our computer without disturbing our infant that's in a crib in the same room. Is this possible with 2 pairs of Jabra Halo2's or similar bluetooth headphones?

No, BT doesn't have the possibility to connect to two separate devices at once.
You could check out the connection between the 2 speakers though?
So, you connect your iphone to one of the speakers and then connect that speaker to the other one.
All you need to check right now is check if Celsus Bluetooth Sound Bar supports pairing between them (which it should).

  • I cannot get my new Ipod Nano to pair with my bluetooth Headphones. It just searches endlessly.  These same headphones work with my blackberry playbook.  Does Apple only allow certain bluetooth devices to pair?  i.e. only the ones sold on their site?

I cannot get my new Ipod Nano to pair with my bluetooth Headphones.  It searches without finding it. This headset works fine with my blackberry playbook.  Any suggestions?

thanks for reply... I saw on the Nano package that it is only compatible with bluetooth 4v.  Is that the same as A2DP.
    That's probably the problem... it wasn't a high-end headset.
