Bluetooth headphones in windows xp

i have recently bought a nokia 5200 that came with a set of bluetooth headphones, i was wondering if they could be connected somehow to my computer, to listen through them i supose its possible because windows comes with a bluetooth file transfer utility but it doesent let me connect them for this purpose
is there an utility a driver or something i can do ?

No you can't. The profiles of blue tooth head set does not have the profiles for use in PC/Laptops. The are blue tooth head sets that is specifically for PC/Laptop use.
I've just cross my fingers that some manufacturers will come up with such thing that could works on both device flawlessly.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!

  • RAM preview audio will not play through bluetooth headphones

I am using bluetooth headphones (Jaybird Freedom Sprint) to try and edit audio/video in after effects. However, when I go to Preferences>Audio Output Mapping and choose "Freedom Sprint" and click OK, close the preference window, and it will automatically go back to the default "Built in Output" when I open it back up. It will only play the sound through the Mac Pro tower I am using. Is there a way to get the headphone option output to stay permanently?? Is there a reason why it is not staying selected?  Another thing I forgot to mention is that all other sounds work (like iTunes, volume up/down) through the headphones except for the audio RAM preview in After Effects. How can I disable the audio from playing through the tower? Very frustrating!
BTW - the only time headphones actually work is when they are plugged into the tower. These ones obviously can't be plugged in.
    Thanks! (Screenshots provided for help)

Thanks! I definitely did try that first... (trying to find a solution with the headphones). You can't find any info about them online/their website. Regardless though, After Effects will not allow me to play the audio output through any other device except for the Mac Pro tower - even playing it through the LCD Cinema Display won't work.
    Thanks for your reply

  • No sound on my Sony Bluetooth Headset because Windows 7 can't find Bluetooth peripheral device driver

SO, I am dealing this problem for the second day in a row and no working solution still. I own the latest iMac 2014 (though the model is exactly as 2013) 2,7 Ghz with Bluetooth 4.0, I've installed through Bootcamp Windows 7 x64. My bluetooth headset Sony DR-BTN200 http://store.sony.com/bluetooth-headphones-zid27-DRBTN200//cat-27-catid-All-Home -Theater-Headphones (which is on Bluetooth 3.0 and of 2013 year model) is working fine with Mavericks and Yosemite on my MBP, but not working as it should on iMac with Windows 7..
THE PROBLEM: I find the headset, connect it, but afterwards Windows writes that no drivers for Bluetooth peripheral device were found (3 or 4 encriptions like this, so, 3-4 drivers needed). The headset itself guarrantees fine working with Windows 8, the producer doesn't give any drivers to install, you won't find them on Sony's website - it should work as plug-n-play, they say those drivers are preinstalled on Windows 8.
WHAT I'VE TRIED: So, the problem, as I've read from many-many-many sources is common for everybody running Windows on Mac devices. In cases with notebooks it is easy to solve (if you know it) - download the Bluetooth software from Broadcom (the producer of Bluetooth adapters/receivers of  Macs) http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php - install, it finds the devices and istalls correct driver. This worked with my MacBook Pro 2010, on iMac it stucks on recognizing devices - nothing happens next, like it doesn't recognize any bluetooth device. Downloading many other drivers packages didn't help either, nor Toshiba Bluetooth helpers could detect Bluetooth headset to properly download the correct drivers (though it was already recognized by Windows, just couldn't connect properly), nor different other programs like Bluesoleil, Blue manager and so on.
On other notebooks and computers many try to install manually the drivers, usualy Microsoft Windows mobile-based device support. I've tried to install many drivers, all of the Broadcom drivers I've found (including the Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 USB driver that makes the headset work on MBP), and I must say that Windows recognizes (doesnt show the yellow triangle next to the icon of the driver) only for the Microsoft Windows mobile-based device support driver. Though it's like that, the sound still is not playing out of my headset. On MBP after the drivers were installed, I chose the device in Printers and devices and there was an option of Control (maybe I remember the name wrong), it went first in the right-click menu, and aftewards there was a page were I could connect my headset through ticks/checks on different options. Nothing like this appears if I install any of the drivers on iMac (nor Broadcom, nor Win mobile-based). I must also mention, that some kind of package that I've downloaded from Toshiba or Acer's Broadcom Bluetooth kit, I don't remember, installed some bluetooth drivers (Bluetooth Audio, "receiver" if I recall it correctly and 2 more), that were recognized as right drivers for peripheral device when I connected my headset, but even then - no sound came out of the headset.
HELP ME: What shoud I do? I've tried all of the methods that are on the net. Sony store won't help me out, because the problem is not in the device - it's in the software/hardware of "your iMac". The headset works with Mac OS, should work fine with fully-Windows PCs, it just doesn't with iMacs on Bootcamp Windows. The interesting thing is that updating windows to Windows 8 might also not help, since Sony guarrantees only work on pre-shipped with Win 8 devices, not with the upgraded devices. I do think the problem is with drivers, that Mac's Bootcamp utility doesn't come with pre-installed Bluetooth drivers for connecting Bluetooth headsets, only for the Apple mouse and keyboard. I must also mention that I've tried to install manually many of the Broadcom drivers, all of which were for Bluetooth 3.0 or 4.0, they didn't help.
It's awfull that I've got the latest iMac, so the latest hardware and face such problems. I only think that a cheap 5-7$ bluetooth-usb adapter could help, maybe it could recognize the headset and therefor install its own drivers for its manufacturer. But I don't imagine how would it work and connect since iMac has a peinstalled Bluetooth receiver. Is there a software sollution? An app or driver?

So, finally I found what worked for me: Re: Full Bluetooth functionality in Bootcamp (audio, A2DP, FTP, OBEX) third variant, none of first 2 worked.. The only trouble was to find the correct link since on Acer site there is no download link. I've googled for "Bluetooth_Atheros_7.4.0.96_W7x64_A.zip" since this is the archive the guy is actually talking about. The 4th link on google was http://www.laptop-software.com/Acerdriversdownload.php?GDFiles/Driver/Bluetooth/ Bluetooth_Atheros_7.4.0.96_W7x64_A.zip?acerid=634556349384706773&Step1=Notebook& Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%204830Z&OS=721&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_6 and I chose to downlad from the first download link. Then the steps are:
    1) unzip the folder
    2) don't look for x64 or x32, there is only a one installer called "Bluetooth_Suite_win7"
    3) install Bluetooth_Suite_win7
    4) after it installs Windows starts downloading and recognizing drivers, I don't know how it actually works, but it also downloaded and recognized the unrecognized before drivers for my Bluetooth headset.
    5) Restart Windows
    6) Turn on headphones - they connect automatically, everything works and works great, the quality of sound is exactly the same as it was on Mac OS, nothing that would bother me.
****, it took me 2 full days... finally...

  • MSI WS60 Bluetooth headphones won't play music

    Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has any advice, or has had problems playing music through their Bluetooth headphones?
I am able to pair them and able to hear the test sounds but music still plays through the laptop speakers. When connected the default device in sound settings says speakers. I've changed this to the Bluetooth headset but still no luck.
    Thanks
    System:
    MSI-WS60 2OJ-099US
    Windows 7 64-bit Professional
Skull candy Hesh 2 Bluetooth headphones

Try to disconnect the BT headset then restart the system,  and pair it again with the notebook and check if it's set as the default playback device in Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Sound> Playback device.
*Don't use the Realtek audio manager to test the sound since it doesn't apply to the BT device, so the sound will only come out from the speaker.
Share the capture of the playback device tab of the sound setting page, then we can know better of the situation.

  • Very poor sound quality on bluetooth headphones through HP Envy 700-074 desktop

I recently purchased a pair of Bose AE2W wireless bluetooth headphones to use with my HP Envy 700-074 desktop computer. After successfully pairing the headphones the sound quality is extremely poor. I know the headphones are not the pronblem since they sound beautiful when paired with my iPhone or iPad.
I have tried updating the driver, but I have the most current version installed according to the computer. Adjustment of the Beats Audio controls or any other sound controls does not help.

  • ITunes refuses to use bluetooth headphone

At first, I didn't realize there is this forum, and posted the following in a forum which is less suitable than this one. So, I copy it here.
I'm bewildered. Consider these three items: The bluetooth setting of Mac OS (the bluetooth icon near the top right corner), a bluetooth headphone, and iTunes. In what order should I switch them on?
First of all, I use the same headphone (S305 of Motorola) with the iPhone 4 and the 6th-gen. iPod Nano without any problems. It doesn't seem to matter which is switched on first.
Now, on my iMac, I experience wierd things. For example,
    1) Switch on the headset.
    2) Bluetooth menu of iMac -> Turn on Bluetooth.
    3) Bluetooth menu of iMac -> S305 -> Use headphones.
After a while, my headset beeps and the Bluetooth
icon of the iMac turns to three dots. (Connection
    established.)
    4) Invoke iTunes. Then, the Bluetooth icon turns back
to the Bluetooth symbol, and music starts to flow
from the buildin speaker. Not from the headset!
    5) Quit iTunes.
    6) Bluetooth menu -> Turn off bluetooth.
    7) Do item (2).
    8) Do item (3).
    9) Do item (4). And then, there is an error pop-up
window, saying that the bluetooth audio failed,
    or somthing to the effect.
    10) Restart the iMac.
    11) Repeat from (1). Then, SOMETIMES, iTunes plays music
    through my headset!
I failed to see any "systematicness". It SOMETIMES works and SOMETIMES fails.
Is there any pattern here? What's the correct order to turn on various things? I ask this, because establishing a Bluetooth connection after starting iTunes SOMETIMES works!
Oh, and I'm sitting right in front of the iMac and the strength of the signal should be very good. When I do a test like the above, I turn off all other Bluetooth signals. (For example, if its Bluetooth is on, my iPhone 4 establishes a connection with my headset before my iMac does so.)

Are these tracks ones that iTunes played successfully before the update? If not, what format are the tracks (MP3, WAV, WMA, etc.)?

  • Is it possible to listen through bluetooth headphones?

Hi...i have just bought a decent pair of stereo bluetooth headphones but cant find a way of playing songs on it using itunes? Is it possible to do this?
    Many Thanks
    Rob

I think this is possible, try the following :-
    1. Open System Preferences and select the 'Bluetooth' icon.
    2. Click on the 'Devices' tab
    3. Click on the Set Up New Device button
    4. You will now get the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, select the device type 'Headset' and go through the assistant instructions to pair your headset to the computer.
    5. Go back to System Preferences and select 'Sound'
    6. In the 'Sound' preferences window, select the Output tab.
    7. Hopefully you should see your Headset in the list of devices for sound output. If you do select it.
    8. Any sounds your computer now makes, including iTunes music will be sent to the headset.

  • Bluetooth headphones disconnecting after pausing video content on Yosemite.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014)
    Yosemite 10.10.3 (latest public beta)
(short) My Beats Studio Wireless headphones will disconnect after pausing video content.
(long) My headphones will connect without issue. However, after watching video content (either on Safari or QuickTime), the headphones will disconnect from bluetooth. To re-connect, I must turn the headphones off then back on. I have read the bluetooth faqs and there are no solutions addresses this issue. I have had moderate results by removing com.apple.bluetooth.plist and re-pairing my devices, yet, the problem returns after watching video in Safari. This problem only persists on OS X. I have tested the headphones with Windows and iOS and they work as intended with no dropouts.  Any ideas?

    Hi tlacroixia,
Thank you for the response. Because this is not happening when your computer goes to sleep, the first troubleshooting steps I would recommend would be to reset your computer’s PRAM and SMC. Please follow the instructions located in the attached two articles below to complete these steps, and again, please let me know if the issue continues.

  • ITunes plays through bluetooth headphone

Every time I tried play music in iTunes through bluetooth headphone, I had to remove and reconnect the device in System Setting panel. After I pressed the play button, the music just would not play at all, or sometimes there was skipping noise. However, playing sound in web browser worked fine. Quit and restart iTunes seemed to be able to "solve" this issue.

It just dawned on me that you are asking a windows pc-spedific iTunes question.  Bluetooth yes, but windows none-the-less.  I think you would be better off going to the apple forum specifically for windows itunes problems:

  • Need help with bluetooth headphones playback

I have recently began to use Motorola S305 bluetooth headphones on my desktop computer. The headphones synch and work for playback of other audio, however, they do not play back when I listen to iTunes (upgraded to iTunes 9 today).
I have checked and re-paired. When I test using the control panel or Windows Media Player, the headphones playback audio, however, when I play iTunes the sound reverts back to computer speakers.
I would appreciate if someone could help me figure out how to get my headphones to work so I can get the full benefit of the purchase.
    Thank you

    Topher,
I had the same problem too, but with a different headset...after some google searching and playing around, I found the solution. When your bluetooth headphones have a microphone, it actually uses a different service then the "stereo headphones" feature. When quicktime starts up in any capacity, it seems to default to whatever service that uses the microphone, not the speakers. All you need to do is change your microphone input to something else in Quicktime and it then defaults to the same playback service as everything else.
Find the quicktime player on your system and open it up. Under Edit -> Preferences -> Quicktime Preferences, select the Audio tab. Click the "Select Audio Playback Devices" button.
At this point, if you select your "Test Hardware" button, and you run through the test, I noticed that my microphone was recording, but my headphones were not playing back.
All I did was change the "Voice Recording" default device from the microphone device in my headphones to my computer's built in microphone. Save all changes. You should notice that when you hit the "Test Hardware" button again, everything works as advertised.
Hopefully that helps. It might be problematic if your bluetooth headphones have an included mic that you wanted to use in Quicktime. Good luck!

  • ThinkPad T440 - Bluetooth headphones do not work

    I have a ThinkPad T440.
    It has Windows 7.
Issue: The ThinkPad T440 recognizes the headphones when i turn the headphones on. But the ThinkPad T440 does NOT pair with the headphones.
I have downloaded the latest drivers but the issue still persists.
The issue i'm having is NOT specific to the type of bluetooth headphones i'm using because the issue happens with any type of bluetooth headphone i'm using.
The headphones do work because i can pair the headphones to my iphone 5 and i can listen to music/videos on my iphone with the headphones.
Previously i had a ThinkPad T430 and the headphones worked fine.
Also, i do have a mouse that is bluetooth and the mouse works fine with the ThinPad T440.
My bluetooth radio is turned on.
In Device Manager, under Bluetooth Radios, it displays Generic Bluetooth Adapter and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. Both of these have the latest drivers installed.
Does anybody have a solution to this issue?

Another forum enlightened me to the fact that T440s using Intel Bluetooth chips. This was the key to finding the secret sauce to get my Plantronics Voyager headset to work with a Lenovo T440.
The magic occurs when you head over to Intel's site and install the latest "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth® technology" for your platform:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=bluetooth
    In my case, it was:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24679&lang=eng
I'd then reboot as a safety measure. After installing it, there are no additional Start Menu items, but once you Add a Device from the Bluetooth Devices screen, all the appropriate device drivers for telephony and headset are automatically found.

  • Bluetooth Headphones: Error Connecting to Headset

I am having issues with a pair of MeElectronics AirFi Venture Bluetooth Headphones that I would like to use with my Windows 7 Dell Latitude E6430 laptop. I am able to pair them with the machine, but when I open the Bluetooth control panel and hit connect,
I get a message that says, "Error connecting to headset. Please retry this operation." I have tried:
    Removing and re-pairing the headset.
    Restarting the machine.
Removing and Reinstalling the latest drivers from Dell.
    Installing Broadcom Bluetooth software.
Adjusting the services prior to pairing the headset.
After all of these, I still get the same error message. I am able to pair the headset with my phone and tablet, with both able to broadcast to it.
    Any thoughts?
    Dan

    Hi,
Do you have other bluetooth devices? Are you able to pair them with your Windows 7 Dell laptop? Please make sure to turn on discoverable mode. And have you checked the driver for the bluetooth adapter? And If you're using a bluetooth adapter
via usb port, try another port or reinstall the driver for usb controller.

  • Is there a way to listen to radio on iPod nano 7th gen with Bluetooth headphones?

I know the iPod nano 7th gen uses the headphones as an antenna. I know there will need to be some sort of antenna attached. Does anybody know if there is an antenna on the market that can be plugged into the headphone jack that will allow audio to be sent to a pair of Bluetooth headphones?

There is currently no such antenna available.
