Bluetooth Headset and Vista x64

Hi,
I've run into a lack of drivers when trying to install a Bluetooth headset for use with my Mac.
I get two "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with yellow icons in the Device Manager and Vista says it can't find drivers.
I've removed all my drivers and re-installed Boot Camp v2.1 with no luck.
Has anyone been able to get a Bluetooth headset working under Boot Camp and Vista?
thanks,
j.

Go to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices (or whatever it is called in Vista), and change the output there.
Normally if it comes out of the speakers and you plug headphones in, it should automatically transfer to the headphones.
With BT I assume you need to do a little more work.

I have a Samsung SBH170Bluetooth Headset, a T60 and Vista Ultimate operating system. The Computer finds the headset and it sends a test signal to the headset. How do I get sound from movies or streaming audio or music files to play in the headset. I don't see options to use the headset as a playback device
    Thanks

  • Bluetooth Headset in Vista

Is there anyway to use a bluetooth headset with Vista? (Is it something to do with A2DP)
The headset I have works in Leopard (and previously in Tiger). It didn't require any driver software, and as far as I know there isn't any available for download from the manufacturer's site.
The fact that it works in Leopard should prove that the bluetooth card inside the Macbook Pro is capable of working with the headset, no?
Any help would be great, thanks.

I'm having similar problems. I have a pair of Logitech Freepulse A2DP headphones. They work fine in Leopard but not in Vista. They pair properly in Vista and say "connected" but no sound will transmit. I have tried testing and making sure the volume is up and everything but no dice.
My guess is that the Apple Bluetooth drivers don't support A2DP. Is this true?

  • Just bought bluetooth headset and it won't turn on ??????????

I just bought my bluetooth headset and it wont turn on... at all. ive tried charging it and the light wont even turn on. What am i doing wrong? help me pleease! thanks

The Apple BT headset? Did you press and hold the button for a few seconds? A set of rising tones indicates power on. The light only lights up when connected to the power cable (orange when charging, green when charged).

  • Unibody MacBook Pro 17, SSD and Vista x64 - Does it work?

I see many discussions about problems with various brands of SSD drives and Vista x64 under Boot Camp.
Can any of you confirm that Vista x64 will install on a unibody MacBook Pro 17" with the Apple-provided 250g SSD option?

It works well. Don't forget to turn the disk defrag off after installing and booting into Vista.

  • Getting static audio with Titanium and Vista x64 at random times

@Getting static audio with Titanium and Vista x64 at random times$ I have had this card for about 6-8 months and relati'vely no issues.
I just upgraded to the latest drivers 270006 and now, sometimes after exiting Turbine's Lotro, my audio plays but is very static-y, but it doesn't happen all the time. I had iTunes minimized when playing Lotro and then went to play a song after exiting. I quit iTunes and tried it again and it was ok.
This also happened in Firefox, a YouTube video had the same static audio.
It doesn't happen all the time and I do play other games, but I haven't been playing much else right now.
So right now I don't know if it's a Lotro thing or just the drivers.
    I have a Q9650, single GTX260, Asus P35 board (not SLI), Vista x64, 4GB.

Carl, do let us know on the Safe Mode test... would be the first thing I'd try with what you've mentioned, but yeah, daisy chained Hubs could possibly play into it.

  • I have Sunglasses Bluetooth Headset and Apple Iphone 4, I Can Communicate Calls Using Headset. But I can't Listen Musics Using Headset.

I have Sunglasses Bluetooth Headset and Apple Iphone 4, I Can Communicate Calls Using Headset. But I can't Listen Musics Using Headset.

The iPhone supports the following Bluetooth profiles. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
In order to play music through the headset, it must support this particular profile, A2DP.  You can check the specs on the headset to see if it does support that. Not all headsets that support phone calls will support music.

I have the same blueparrott headset headset with the directions. Actually reading them just fixed my iphone pairing issue.
Here they are in case u still need them along with what I needed to do to get mine to work with iphone 4
    Pair Headset with Phone
    Turn off headset off
Hold down headset's MFB (large top button) until red & blue lights flash and you hear 2 rising tones, followed by 4 more tones. Must wait for all before you release the MFB button!! (I had my hubby hold the MFB while I waited for the tones since both come from the headset
Release the MFB and follow your phone's instructions to place it in 'bluetooth' discoverable mode.  With the iphone4, go to "General" and then "Bluetooth" and turn indicator to "ON".
This is where my issue occurred as the phone could not find the bluetooth, although it worked with my LG phone.  So after trying it several times thinking I was nuts and that the issue was with the iphone, I looked further in the blueparrot's directions and found this step that fixed the issue.
    Reset Paired Devices List
On the bluetooth, press and hold down both the volume up & volume down buttons for 5-6 seconds.  A double beep will be heard and the list will be reset.  Pairing info for devices previously paired will be lost.
The bluetooth directions provide this as step 4 but that did not work for my phone (see below)
    4. Once the phone discovers the headset, select "pair" and enter "0000" code and that when pairing is complete the blue light on the headset will stop flashing and phone will prompt you to 'connect'.
This is what I had to do after resetting the device list on my bluetooth
    4. My iphone instanting discovered the headset and displayed it under 'Devices" but showed a message that it was 'not connected'.  Once I selected the device on the iphone by pressing on it then it changed to "connected".
Even when I turn the bluetooth on and off the device remains on the list and alll I do is select it to connect and disconnect after I turn on my blueparrott bluetooth
    I hope this helps others!

  • Skype reverts to speaker after pc restart from Bluetooth headset and its mic.

I have set Skype for Windows to automatically switch to Bluetooth headset and its microphone when is on and when headset is off to switch back to speakers. But after pc restart it switches to speakers. What should I do?

Yeah this is the same problem I had. Just go and get a replacement.
Dont think too much about other solutions. Its apple's headache not ours.
But I enjoyed the 1 week testing I did on the first phone I got. For me with bluetooth paired phone it was exactly from the second call and if its wired headset that is connected, then from the third call you make, there wont be any audio (goes to the speaker). Clearly a software bug, but just confused why not all phones have this issue.

  • 700p (Verizon) and Vista x64

I just bought me a new laptop that has Vista x64 on it.  I've tried to sync via Bluetooth (which is the only option for Vista x64) and I get the following error message:
"Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application."
    Anyone have any suggestions?
Post relates to: Treo 700p (Verizon)

I got my WiFi hotsync to work fine on my Vista 64 system. The latest Palm Desktop versions did not work for me, only the original set up disk worked. Make sure all previous versions of Palm Desktop that you may have tried to install are uninstalled first and to be safe, reboot after the uninstall. Go to help and support in your start menu. Type "compatibility wizard in the search pane. Start the wizard. Follow the directions and select the Start with XP service pack option. Also choose the start with cd option. Insert the original Tungsten C installation disk. You may have to fool around with the various screens that come up next, but the bottom line is, install the original program from your installation disk under the run with XP option. You will then be able to hotsync with Wifi after you set up the wifi on your palm with the correct computer name and ip address. (VPN is not necessary.). I have not yet tried the USB as it is still set up on a backup computer with XP, but I suspect thet it will work. You may have to reboot before the hot sync after installation. Also you will note an icon in the taskbar that shows that there is a program that was blocked from startup by Vista. You have to click on the icon and open the blocked program which is Palm Desktop before each hotsync. (It opens the hotsync icon on the taskbar and then allows the options menu in the palm desktop program to work). Also you will probably have to open the hotsync icon on the taskbar and configure the setup before first hotsync.

  • Another CS4 and Vista x64 GPU SLi Support Question

After reading some of the forums I could not really find a clear answer on the following:
I am running Vista x64 Ultimate on a QX6850 system with 8GB of RAM. I also have 2x XFX8800GT graphics cards running in SLi with the latest Nvidia drivers (181.20). Dxdiag testing provides no errors.
The GPU support features in CS4 x64 (and x32) is greyed out with the text wording of no support in Photoshop standard. Based on some of the threads posted here, I tried enabling or disabling some settings in the Nvidia control panel, but the only one that seem to enable the GPU support is to deactivate SLi completely (which sort of defeats the purpose in 3D graphics).
Does CS4 support an SLi setup? If not, will there be any difference in performance with SLi disabled and using the CS4 GPU support vs the other way around?
    Thank you for your assistance.

Negitive. It is written on the CS4 requirements section. Only 1 GPU.

  • Bluetooth Headsets and D-Link DBT-120

    Hi everyone,
I am running a PowerMac Dual 2.0 GHz G5 with OS 10.4.11. I have been having the hardest time finding a solution to pair my Plantronics headset with my Mac. I have tried several Bluetooth USB dongles, most recently the D-link DBT-120 and everytime I go to pair the headset, I get the error: "Failed to set up the headset. Headsets are not supported on your Bluetooth hardware." I have the most up to date bluetooth firmware and software on my Mac:
    Software: 1.9.5f4
    Firmware: 3.1915
I read in the support article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120276
"Headset support requires a Bluetooth enabled headset and either an internal Apple Bluetooth module or a D-Link DBT-120 rev. B or later."
so I understand why the 2 other cheap USB bluetooth dongles didn't work with headsets, but even after buying a new D-link dbt-120, I STILL get the error...any thoughts??? Thanks in advance!

Your link loops back to this thread.
So, what you are saying is, the Apple doc recommends this DBT-120:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/D%2DLink/DBT120/
    But you have this one:
    http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=34
is there a solution without upgrading to 10.5?
OS X 10.4.3 and later are supported, but note the disclaimer:
This device supports Bluetooth® Version 2.0. However D-Link cannot guarantee full compatibility with all devices due to modifications and/or other variations of the devices’ implementation of the Bluetooth 2.0/1.2/1.1 standard.

  • How do connect to internet with Leopard and Vista x64

After installing Leopard, then running Boot Camp and installing Windows Vista x64 I cannot connect to my router, either by Ethernet or Airport. Windows could not detect any wireless network when trying to set up a wireless router. When I try to connect to the router with an Ethernet cable I get an error message telling me to "The underlying Ethernet connectivity required for the broadband connection was not found. Please install and enable the Ethernet adapter on your computer via the Network Connections folder before attempting this connection. I know the router and the MacBook Pro are working because I can connect either with Ethernet or Airport when I am running Leopard. The router is a D Link WBR-2310.

It happened to me as well on Windows XP. I managed to get it to work by changing WEP password on the Airport to WPA/WPA Personal. It seems Windows is finicky about WEP set ups...

  • No rear speaker sound with Audigy 4 and Vista x64

I recently upgraded to Vista x64. I downloaded the 6.0..24 driver for x64. I also loaded MediaSource for x64. I am using analog 5. surround speakers from Dell. This setup works fine when I boot into XP pro (with the XP drivers), but I only get front, center and Sub in Vista x64. Does anyone have any ideas for this?

Not sure what to tell you, hopefully someone will be able to help. One curious thing though is that according to my Sound properties in Control Panel SPDIF is working on my Audigy 4,

unfortunately I don't have anything that uses SPDIF to be able to test it.
Also have you tried installing the X-Fi drivers yet? Download, extract with Winrar (or whatever you use) and navigate to the Drivers sub-folder and run the Setup.exe there.
