Bluetooth headset disconnecting

I am using a BT 4517 Bluetooth Headset with my 6600.
I can connect the phone with the headset and everything works fine however after a short time (less than a minute) the phone disconnects from the headset. I have tried the headset on my daughters phone (samsung d600) and it stays connected. Any help with this would be great.
Robert

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I bought this headset from Tesco and it was sold as a general bluetooth headset and I was not aware of it had to be compatible. I thought Bluetooth was a standard that went across any platforms like, say, USB.

I noticed that when not in use, the Sony Bluetooth headset disconnects from the phone. Didn't see that problem with the Samsung Galaxy Music. Is this a battery saving feature of Stamina mode?

    Hi,
Depending on which headset you are using the headset may disconnect to a kind of standby mode. The headset will auto connect to your phone when you are placing or receiving a call. Depending on which software you can also force a connection by tapping the call button.

  • Audio does not behave correctly when Bluetooth headset disconnects

When a Bluetooth audio receiver disconnects, Windows reverts to another active audio connection.  However, the programs that were previously using the Bluetooth connection do not transfer to the new audio connection and reactivating the Bluetooth connection
does not get the audio from those programs back.
The only way to make them work again is to close the program and reopen it.  As a gamer - this is particularly a problem when batteries die.  Usually I would just swap the batteries in 10 seconds and turn the headphones back on, however it is not
possible due to this issue.  Exiting the game would ruin my team's experience as 5+ minutes is approximately 10% of the game's average total time.

    Hi,
There are 3 reasons I can think out:
    1. Bluetooth driver was not released when it is disconnected suddenly, this can be caused by Bluetooth software.
    2. Audio driver can be corrupted.
    3. There is the problem on the program itself.
I recommend you do following test:
Open Windows media player to play music with Bluetooth headset, and then disconnect Bluetooth headset and see if the headphones can work fine with media player.
If it works fine, the issue is on the program you run with problem. Contacting the program provider would be more helpful.
Otherwise, it's related to Bluetooth driver or software, please try to update them from manufacturer's website to see what's going on.
Also, please check if there is any event related to this issue in Event viewer.

  • Bluetooth headset disconnects if not in iTunes

    I have a Creative WP-450 Bluetooth Headset.
    I have a MacBook Air Summer 2012.
    I connect my headset.
    iTunes pops up.
All is fine as long as I listen to music in iTunes.
IF I close iTunes and stream media throug my browser or do anything other than listen to music on iTunes (ie play a game) the headset beeps every 2 minutes for a bit and then the headset disconnects.
There is nothing wrong with the battery, I can listen to iTunes for hours with no issue.
I can listen to my music on my phone for hours and hours.
Minutes after pairing and closing iTunes on my Air, headphone beeps and then headphone shut-down.
WHY? Its killing me! I want to use these for ventrillo or skype or just watching cartoons.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Bluetooth headset disconnects wireless Mighty Mouse

I have a Jabra bluetooth pair of headphones (BT620S) that I use with my Intel iMac. They work great as headphones since they are connecting via A2DP. But they also have the option of being used as a headset, for example with softphones or similar. Only this is useless!
Every time I connect as a headset, my mouse disconnects and the sound result I get is really bad. It's like an inch thick concrete wall is between the headset and the computer, even though I'm sitting immediately in front of it?!
Any ideas? I've tried to unpair and pair both devices again. I also have a wireless Apple keyboard. Thanks!

was working and that i was able to go into bluetooth icon and it was active???"

  • Skype disconnects Bluetooth headset

I connect my Bluetooth headset (Plantronics Voyager Pro) and it connects fine in Windows 7. As soon as I start Skype, the Bluetooth headset disconnects. In the Skype options, the Bluetooth device is greyed out and I cannot even remove it. I have reinstalled Skype 5.5, but with the same results. The headset works fine except in Skype.
This appeared to happen after the last update as it was working fine previously.

  • PowerBook G4 "Sees" Bluetooth Headset but Disconnects During Use

At the recommendation of an Apple Store saleperson, I purchased a Motorola Bluetooth Handsfree Headset (Model H700). I have successfully connected to the Mac (G4 PowerBook), and it recognizes the unit as being connected properly.
When I try to listen to iTunes, or make a SKYPE call with the headset active, I get a message "Bluetooth audio disconnected. You headset unexpectedly disconnected. Make sure it is turned on and in range. The audio portion of the program you were using may have to be restarted."
I have spent 3 hours on the phone with Apple Tech Support, and Motorola. No one has a clue what this means or how to fix it. Any ideas?
The setup assistant on the Mac shows everything to be checked out just fine. The headset works because I can hear it "beep" in my ear when I turn it on.
    HELP!
    Blue about Bluetooth

What I've discovered is that I can't set my bluetooth headset as the default audio output device... that causes all sorts of weirdness, usually resulting in my having to reboot the OS.
That said, I have no trouble using my headset with Skype. I leave the defaults under the Sound system preferences panel to Internal speakers / microphone, but I set the audio input / output to my headset on the Skpye Audio preferences page.

when bluetooth headset is connected to iphone,I can't hear iphone ringing aloud when I have a call or a text. Do i really have to wear the bluetooth headset all the time in my ear to know when I have a call or a message? Why it doesnt ring through iphone but it rings through the bluetooth headsets?
In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5.  I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s.  However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call.  I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss.  The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens.  All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.
Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue:
This is a link to someone using the Motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issue
    https://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c
If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported:
http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review.
Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue.  I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web.  Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.

here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

  • Audio NOT functioning correctly after botched bluetooth headset pair attemp

After trying to connect my bluetooth headset (Motorola HS820) to my Macbook Pro i am having issues with several apps including firefox and mediacentral. Audio from these programs will not play. I get an error message saying there was a problem with my bluetooth audio configuration.. However apps like itunes and skype function correctly..
When attempting to pair my bluetooth headset the bluetooth assistant pairs it succesfully but when it connects it immediately disconnects.. after several attempts at tricking it to connect (advice from posts in mac.com forums) i have given up and deleted these devices from my bluetooth preferences and still have these problems..
I'm assuming there is some config file still in place pointing these apps in the wrong direction?
Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.6) Dual Booter

Just verified Audio is not working for me in safari either...
Example i'm using is any video on youtube.com
Edit: I guess this would be a problem with macromedia flash then?

  • Could Bluetooth headsets be more frustrating?

I'm so irritated! I'm on my fourth bluetooth headset, and can't get one to just work sanely.
Now it's a Motorolla HS850. Once connected it worked - even worked on skype. but only once.
Once it disconnects I have to re-pair (pair it again, not repair), to get it connect.
I love that the bluetooth pref-pane has a disconnect button, but not a connect button.
I've tried "iStumbler" and can use it to pair easly - but then it just disconnects in time and has to pair again to work.
I'll stop ranting now - does anyone have one of these things that works? I'm willing to take this one back...

Before you start you Mac your headset must be on.
Never turn it off while your Mac is on. Easy as that.
    Inconvenient as that.
I think you're on to something there.
I'm on my second bluetooth headset and this one is a 2.0 Bluetooth headset (Nokia BH-900). I only use it with Skype. My first pair was a Motorola HS805 which was a 1.2 headset.
In both cases, I have never had pairing issues or reconnection issues. The problems I have had with both of them is that sometimes after the headset connect, the mouse tracking movement (I'm using a wireless Mighty Mouse) becomes very jittery. The Nokia BH-900 is better in this regards though, meaning strange tracking happens less frequently than with the HS805.
What I notice is this though. If I have the headset turned on before I start up Skype, this usually doesn't happen. Sometimes, if I turn on the headset after Skype starts up, then I do have the problem (but not always).
Prior to OS X 10.4.8, whenever the mouse tracks strangely after the headset connects, the mouse would never recover even after the headset disconnects. I have to turn the mouse on and off to recover.
With 10.4.8, the mouse tracking movement stops being jittery after the headset disconnects. If I want the mouse to track properly if it's jittery, I turn the mouse on and off (even if headset is still connected). But if I don't do this and the headset disconnects after I'm doing using it, the mouse tracking returns to normal.
Due to these behaviours, I think that Apple's implementation of bluetooth is perhaps still a little buggy. After all, the mouse tracking behaviour prior to 10.4.8 and at 10.4.8 are different.
