Bluetooth Headset for MacBook Pro

Hi,
Got a new 15" MacBook Pro a few weeks ago and have been having issues with my Nokia bluetooth headset when using with Skype. It connects ok but there seems to be alot of static in the earpiece when in use. I understand that there are some issues with different headsets but if anyone can recommend a good bluetooth headset that will work well with Skype it would be a great help.
Thanks,
Paul

I have the Jaybird JB-200 bluetooth headphones. I have never used them with Skype, but I use them all of the time with my MacBook Pro and iPhone.

  • Bluetooth headset for MacBook pro and iPhone

Is there a recommended Bluetooth headset I can pair with my iPhone and MacBook pro and do things like:
    iPhone:
    Take call
    Listening to music and podcasts
    MacBook Pro:
    Listening to music and podcast
    Skype calls
    Google Voice calls
    Face time
    YouTube
    Etc...
At the same time it would need at least 8 hours of talk and or play time battery.
Has somebody built such thing? If not we should do a kickstarter...
    Thank you for your recommendations

    Try to look at: http://www.jabra.com/
The ones compatible with the iPhone work with Skype too on a Mac, I don't know about other services.
    Bye

  • Bluetooth Stereo Headsets for MacBook Pro.

Hi guys, months ago I purchased a Jabra bluetooth headset (Jabra BT135). It works for Skype and iChat but not exactly up to my expectations. Later on I learned that some mobile phones can stream wirelessly music to bluetooth headsets. The new technology that allows that is called (at least by Sony Ericsson) A2DP. My mobile (SE W810i) doesn't have that feature but it's okay, I don't think I need that, especially if it's my plan to upgrade to an iPhone asap.
The question is (excuse me if I took too long), are the current MBP able to transmit "high quality stereo music" just like those mobiles are? I just got my MBP, I'd hate to think that it's behind in that sense.
I was thinking of a headset such as the model DR-BT30Q from Sony because it has a microphone built-in.
    Thanks in advance.

What do you mean? Regardless, how do you know that the Dell KB is working? "Wouldn't you really like a Dell?" No. I would not.

  • Bluetooth headset for Macbook

Hi, anybody knows any kind of bluetooth head set which is compatible with macbook for audio conference? Can you please share your knoledge, it will be very useful for me. Is it possible to do a wire free audio conference .
    Thanks in advance.

    1) I have two new MacBook Pro Unibody Aluminum Late 2008 models. I can replicate this problem on both units.
    2) I am using Skype 2.7.0.330.
    3) I've tested this with MacOS 10.5.5 and 10.5.6
If I set up a bluetooth Headset and use it with Skype, it degrades into illegible audio in about 5 minutes. Only a reboot of the Mac cures it. At worst, it even locks up the OS and the stack trace on the report sent to Apple shows some of the BT methods/stack as the culprit. A reboot of the Headset does not help restore legible audio.
I have tried three brands and models of BlueTooth Headsets:
    Plantronics 510
    Jabra BT 250v
    Motorola H350
All headsets exhibit the same problem. Problem can be replicated on both MBPs. This worked just fine on the old 2007 MBP.
I even went so far as to just play music through the BlueTooth headsets via iTunes. The audio starts chopping up around 5 minutes of use. Again, only a reboot of the Mac helps.

  • Headset for MacBook Pro

What would be the best headset to use with the MacBook Pro? I have a headset that works fine on a PC, but apparently the Mic in port on the MBP needs a preamp signal.
What USB headsets exist that work with the MBP

I'm not sure, but I use my motorola bluetooth headset. Its convenient because i also use it for my phone. Look into a bluetooth headset, you might find you like it more than a wired one.

  • Any way to connect external mic (gaming headset) to macbook pro?

I just made the mistake of buying a gaming headset that has the two audio jacks, input and output. Realizing that Macs dont have the right audio input port now. Before I take them back, is there any way I could get them to work? The sound is fine, but the mic doesn't work obviously. But I do have a pair of wireless Turle Beaches that I use for my Xbox 360, is there anyway I could take some of the connections from that to get this headset to work? Or do I just need to take it back and get a USB headset.

Most MacBook Pros have both audio in and out, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't use the headset you just bought. I haven't seen any 2012 models, but on older models (my 2011, for instance) the audio out is in front and audio in on the rear of the front left-hand side of the computer. If you have these ports, try them to see if your headphone/mic works before returning it.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Bluetooth disconnects on macbook pro retina

Hello all- Have a problem that's driving me crazy. I've got a Jambox bluetooth speaker as well as an Apple wireless keyboard and mouse. Starting today, while playing music to the speaker, the bluetooth on the MBPr craps out for a few seconds. This happens every 2-3 minutes. Pretty irritating. Any ideas what's going? Never had a problem before today? Do youy think the Bluetooth chip might be going bad?
    thanks,
    Chris

    Hey Christopher Allbritton,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with Bluetooth on your MacBook Pro. The following resource may provide a solution. One step that stands out is resetting the PRAM/NVRAM:
    9. Restart your computer
Sometimes a simple restart of your Mac is all it takes to get things running smoothly again. You may also want to try resetting your computer's PRAM and NVRAM.

To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.

  • Wifi replacement for MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)

Over the last few months my wifi card has begun to get slower and slower and sometimes will not connect at all.  I spoke with an Apple tech, not at Apple and he said that Apple has had trouble with their Wifi cards on these MacBook's and it will likely need to be replaced. I am out of warranty and looked at the swap out video on iFixIt and it looks easy.
What is not so easy is making sure to get the right replacement board.  Would like to use the later board to get a/c and Bluetooth 4.0.  Any ideas on part numbers and sources?  There are many parts on ebay and Amazon but it is hard to know which one is right.
Thanks for any insight or help.  I understand others are in the same bind.
Below is one I found but was not sure if it was right.

  • The normal value of battery capacity for macbook pro

    Hi there,
I noticed my battery full charge capacity value is way below the technical specification from Apple.
    For macbook pro 15" early 2011 version a 77.5W battery is built-in.
However, so far after 4 cycle, my full charge capacity is 6913mAh.
It seems that I missed something. Though I didn't really notice the initial value when it's brandnew.
Statistically what's the average value of the new battery will be ? around 75W or 7500mAh? Any idea?

  • I bought the wrong version as I need it for macbook pro but somehow bought windows...help

I guess I will have to wait until normal office hours.  I have no idea why it bought the window version as I did not realize that is what was selected.  I hope I can get it exchanged for the photoshop elements 13 for macbook pro retina display.     Anyone know if this is an easy switch and one they will do?

When buying HD versions of shows, only the HD copy will automatically download now (probably due to requests from people who don't need/want the SD version and complained about it being forced on them). The SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes, though. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select TV shows. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the shows and be able to download them.
    Regards.

  • How can I know if my new internal hd for macbook pro is compatible?

I have been trying to upgrade my internal HD for macbook pro early 2008 2.4 and have been having a hard time getting it to boot.  Problems with both WD and Seagate.  I am wondering if the problem is with Mavericks.  I got a good back up from Time Machine to load on the hybrid drive.  Then when I try to restart it shows the apply symbol with no chime and then a black screen comes over the blue screen with some code (strange problem I have never seen) I can see that all the data is on the drive.  I was able to partitian in disk utility.  Anything ringing a bell.  I have done several switches like this and this is the first time I have had so much trouble.  I reinstalled my old drive just to make sure there was not another hardward issue and everything is fine there.  In fact I have a new logic board freshly installed by mac.

Your machine has a SATA 2 interface and I'm sure the new drives are SATA 3. They should still step down and work though. It's possible your SATA cable is marginal and the newer drive is trying to demand more out of it than the old one did. A good test would be to put the new drive in an external enclosure and see if it works ok from there. If so, it's probably the cable.

How did you install Mavericks on the new drive?

Those are same as use by Apple in the non-retina macbook Pro, Ive got piles of them, only a Hitachi is better.
Toshiba HD are a hair noisy even by Toshiba own admission, but no big deal.
I would NEVER buy from OWC merely for the reasons that their prices are miserable.
