Bluetooth Headset Profile on IOS 4 Ipod Touch?

Has anyone checked to see if they added the Bluetooth Headset Profile (cellphone style Mike and Headphone) to the Ipod touch in IOS 4?
It wasn't there in 3.X (just AD2P for stereo sound), and I just wondered if they slipped it in unannounced is IOS 4.

Try a restart first (hold down the on/off button until you get the red slider and turn it off).
If that doesn't do it, reset it - hold down the Home button and the on/off button until you see the Apple logo.

If the following is your problem try the troubleshooting described within:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
Frequently it is due to hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
If that is not your problem then we need more information about hur problem. How do you know the"hardware" is missing?

have a similar problem here. More specifically, I am using a Plantronics Voyager Legend (brand new) with my Iphone5 (iOS 7.0.2). All apps are working great with the headset, e.g., listening to music, normal phone calls, etc. No sound distortion at all.
When I use Skype (most recent version, which is 4.12.258) the sound is very distorted, like scattered. I also successfully used the same headset with a Samsung Galaxy S3 and Skype. No problems. So, I suspect that it must be the combination of Iphone/iOS7 and Skype which messes up the sound.
Does anybody else have the same problem when using that combination of devices and apps?

I used to have in my windows mobile phone two profiles for my Jabra bt3030 stereo headset.
-(stereo headset profile) to be selected if I wanna listen to music.
-(headphone profile) to be used during my working day as normal bluetooth headset to answer calls only (however all ringtons/alerts/GPS navigation sounds been forwarded to the internal phone speaker)
In my Nokia E72 , firmware 031.023 . I have only stereo bluetooth headset profile. which make me always put on the headset during working days to be able to listen to the calender alerts, and notifications (as they do not go to the internal speaker).
Would you please guide me how to separately use either stereo headset profile (for music) or bluetooth headphone profile (for the calls only)???

This problem is getting me down - Blue Jay headphones work perfectly with every other device and computer we own but cannot be found by our MB Pro (late 2011). This same MB is very difficult to pair with 2 other Bluetooth devices - taking several attempts each time and providing poor sound quality.

IOS iPod Touch 4G app problems

I upgraded my iPod Touch 4G to iOS 5 yesterday. That was a bit of a bumpy ride, and now my apps won't open. The icons are still on display and my one subscription has moved to the new newsstand feature. When I hit an icon, the app flutters to the opening page for a second, then goes right back to the icon on the panel. How do I fix this short of reloading everything?

Bluetooth game play first gen ipod touch

As far as I have read the first generation iPod touch does not support bluetooth. Is this correct and does this mean that bluetooth gameplay for multiple players on the iPhone OS 3.0 will not be available for first generation iPod touch users?

There seems to be a tendency with some (not all!) game publishers to move to BT (OS3) multiplayer from the traditional (but, not taken the compatibility with iPod Touch 1G and iPhone 2G models, much more restrictive) Wi-Fi model.
Some new games have completely abandoned Wi-Fi in favor of BT; some have added BT in addition to the already-existing Wi-Fi.
What I recommend is contacting the devs of games that have abandoned Wi-Fi (or never used it, only BT) and asking them to re-enable it.

IPhoto For iOS & iPod Touch 4G - Not Compatible... Why?

Not to sound accusing or anything, but why has Apple blocked out the iPod Touch 4G when it has come to iPhoto? I mean, I have Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, and Garageband, and all of them work flawlessly. Why suddenly block off the last of the iLife trilogy? I bought this application via iTunes, seeing as my Mum owns a iPhone 4, but also installed it to my iPod Touch 4G via the iPhone Configuration Utility. I've had it for around 9 hours now, and it hasn't crashed once. I've edited, exported, and multitasked while doing it. Sure, updating the photo library takes a while, but is that really a reason to block it off completely? I tried installing it from my 'purchased' list, and I was told that the 'This app requires a digital compass'. This got me irate. I mean, what do I need a digital compass for?! Can't I just edit photos?! I don't even use my iPod to take photos! I take them using my Sony DSC-2000, sync them via iTunes, and usually edit them in apps on there! It, to me, is actually the worst excuse I have EVER heard of. Low RAM? Sure, I can tolerate that, but even with the 256mb that the iPod Touch has, it works like a charm, and hasn't frozen or crashed on me once. Even with multitasking. I would love to see this issue resolved, as I am actually debating whether or not to find a different source to sync my photos from. The iPod Touch at least deserves the last of the iLife trilogy, and it's a tad harsh to have to wait till the next hardware refresh, don't you think?

Thats the sole reason i wanted this thread for.. You have the app for iphone 4 and 4S but not for iPod touch? That happens very rarely unless it has HD content or compass utility. I was expected 7.0.3. but no use...

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset the BT device
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Unable to get Bluetooth Headset Profile working with mic on Toshiba BT Stac

Hi.
I am having problems using my Motorola HT-820 Stereo headset, with the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack installed on Vista Home Premium 32bit laptop.
I am unable to get the mic to function at all, so cannot use it for Skype / VOIP calls etc. Features such as the A2DP and AVRCP work fine, and I can listen to music via media player without issues.
I have read in a FAQ on this site, to make sure I use the Custom Setup option rather than Express Setup when adding the device, but it doesnt seem to make any difference, am I missing a step here?
In the Windows Recording device properties, I can see the option listed for Bluetooth Mic, but even setting it as the default device doesnt work.
I know from connecting my headset to my Desktop PC which uses the Widdcom bluetooth stack, that i can use the Headset/mic function, but this stack seems to work differently, as in I can select the headset option within the bluetooth settings, but I cannot see such an option withing the Toshiba stack - and i think this is where the problem is.
I have updated to the latest Toshiba stack from this web site, but this has not helped any.
Any help here would be appreciated.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
