Bluetooth headset wont skip tracks with lastest fi...

Hey guys,
Ive just updated my firmware from V10 to V21(yeah I know I left it a little late), and now Im starting to have some issues. Before on V10 I could use the skip function directly from my bluetooth blueant X5 stereo headset. But since the update although I still have the ability to adjust volume, pause track and answer calls I cannot skip forwards or backwards through the tracks in my music player. The buttons do nothing at all....... If a third party music player is the way to go I would love some suggestions as the added functionality to move through your music without having to take your phone out makes it that much better. Cheers........

Hi Zonker,
I use my Bluetooth device most of the day and I can see how frustrating it must be not being able to take full advantage of all features. As jroal indicated (Thank you!) unpairing the devices and pairing again may resolve issue. I would also suggest powering off the phone for a few seconds after unparing and then power on and pair again to ensure all setting are reset.
Keep in mind that while most Bluetooth devices will pair with each other as they share the same technology, some feature may not be fully compatible. This is more common when paring devices from different manufacturers.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5.  I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s.  However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call.  I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss.  The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens.  All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.
Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue:
This is a link to someone using the Motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issue
    https://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c
If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported:
http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review.
Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue.  I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web.  Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.

here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

  • Is there a (relatively simple) way to skip tracks with an iPod touch 5th gen using a physical button? I'm aware songs can be skipped on-screen without unlocking the iPod, but I'm looking for a method that doesn't require taking my eyes off the road.

Is there a (relatively simple) way to skip tracks with an iPod touch 5th gen using a physical button? I'm aware songs can be skipped on-screen without unlocking the iPod, but I'm looking for a method that doesn't require taking my eyes off the road while driving. For that reason, I'm also not interested in adding in headphones or additional devices that have the desired button functions. Going both forward and back would be great but I would be pleased just to have a "sight-free" way to go forward.
I've seen some mention here and there about ways to maybe change it so the volume buttons change tracks and holding the volume buttons changes the volume... but I don't know what's involved in that or if its even possible/recommended for a new 5th gen iPod. I think its a great device but its sadly lacking in music oriented functions and features... which is disappointing since music is why most people would bother getting one instead of some other "iDevice" :/

Given that you cannot do what you have asked for, perhaps you simply need to find another solution to your root problem.
Presumably, you want to skip to the next track because you don't want to hear the current one, and that is because...
    You don't like it.
You've heard it recently and don't want to hear it now.
Simply don't want to hear it at this time.
For problem number 1. Don't put it on the iPod in the first place. (I know, obvious answer!)
For problem number 2. How about playing from a Smart Playlist (initially created in your iTunes Library) which has only songs you've not played recently?
For problem number 3. Hhhmmm! Create alternative Playlists for use in the car.
As for going back to the start of the "now playing" track.... Well, if your Playlist has only songs that you really, really want to hear, then you'll be looking forward to that rather go back to the beginning of the current song.
I'm not trying to be prescriptive, just giving you food for thought.
(They are all cheaper options than buying a car which can control the iPod from the steering wheel.)

  • Is there a stereo bluetooth headset that can pair with more than one device at a time?

Is there a stereo bluetooth headset that can pair, i.e. multipoint, with more than one device at a time?
Are the MacBook and iPhone 4 capable of multipoint bluetooth technoloagy?
The goal is for my wife to be able to watch her Korean TV soap operas on her MacBook and still receive a call on her iPhone 4 via a stereo bluetooth headset.
I was looking at the Motorola S10-HD but after further review saw that it only pairs with one device at a time.
Appreciate any and all input. My Googling has returned no results.

You can only pair one device at a time to your 8330, or any other phone for that matter.  The "pairings" are saved to the phone, you can use one or the other and you won't have to pair it again.  Once you turn your bluetooth device on and the phone is on, they will find each other again.

  • I want a Bluetooth headset that will work with my Ipad and Iphone

    Hi there,
I carry arround with me a Ipad Air and Iphone 5 and would like a Bluetooth headset that will multi pair so that I can watch videos on my IPad but if a call comes though then transfer to my iPhone and then back to my iPad when the calls over.
Does any one know of a head set that will do this?
    MAny tnanks in advance.

    pretty sure it's not
to both be able to do calls and other audio one need a headset which support the bluetooth profiles called a2dp
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile#Advanced_Audio_Distribution_Profi le_.28A2DP.29
never heard of a single bluetooth device which supported being connected to more then 1 device at the time
suppose the headset you want would have to include 2 seperate bluetooth systems to support 2 connections

  • HT204389 I am looking for a descent bluetooth headset that works well with siri... any suggestions?

I seem to not be able to find any bluetooth headset that really works will with siri... are there any?

The iPad does not print via Bluetooth, unless there's a third-party app somewhere that supports that (which I doubt, but I don't say anything is impossible). The iPad prints only via WiFi, and only to printers that support AirPrint or that are connected to a computer that does. If you look to the right under "more like this" you'll find other discussions on this same question, but none offer any really good solution that I have seen.
    Regards.

  • SBH80 Bluetooth headset can't pair with Windows 7 Dell laptop

I just bought an SBH80 bluetooth headset - love it!  Working beautifully with my Samsung Galaxy phone.
But I can't seem to pair it with my Windows 7 laptop (Dell Latitude E6540).  My Windows device manager shows my Bluetooth adapter as "Intel(R) Centrino Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + High Speed Adapter".
When I try to add a Bluetooth device (after putting the SBH80 into pairing mode), the Windows 7 laptop doesn't show the headset.  I can't seem to pair.
    Any suggestions?

  • Need bluetooth headset that is compatible with the iPhone and a blackberry

Alright I have a blackberry curve right now because Ive been waiting for 2.0 to come out.
Now that its here, I need a little bit more time to to gather up the funds to get the phone, but I need to get a bluetooth now for work.
I'd like get a bluetooth now that I can use on my blackberry temporarily and then use it on my iPhone instead of having to fork over money twice.
Now I really want to get the dock for the iphone and I think I have seen pictures of a dock for a phone AND bluetooth?
Am I correct that this exsists?
I've seen the apple bluetooths and they dont have a ring that goes around your ear like most and I'm worried that just sticking it in my ear is not solid enough.
Normal music earphone buds dont seem to fit comfortablly in my ear, so I'd rather having something hanging from my ear as opposed to stuffed in it.
So is there a bluetooth headset with an ear ring that will plug into an apple phone dock for charging?

Can you buy a universal hook to clip on the apple earbud?
Yes. I have heard good things about this product:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/iFitear-A-Must-for-YOUR-Apple-Bluetooth-Headset-iPhone_W0QQi temZ310074742409QQihZ021QQcategoryZ80077QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I mean is there any rumor about them coming out with a new apple dock for 2.0?
Not that we've heard, though I'd imagine that one will be coming eventually.
If they are, and there is a universal hook that will clip on their ear piece, I would prefer to stick with the apple gear.
Apple doesn't make one to my knowledge

  • Can anyone tell me why Apple does not sell a Bluetooth Headset that is compatible with the IPhone 6??  The Bluetooth 4.0 version that the 6 runs has been in place since 2010.

No Bluetooth headsets are compatible with IPhone 6 series-

I originally wrote this post to see if anyone else had come up with a solution to Apple's inability to engineer the Iphone 6 product line to be compliant with Bluetooth 4.0 that has been around for ONLY 5 years.  Since you want to talk about driving while talking let's look at your evidence.  1) When you consider that the Washington Post will not admit to the number of participants participating in the study they site makes the study in valid as you cannot tell if any conclusion is statistically valid.  The National Safety Council does not give what data it had or where it came from but is pure opinion- not factual. 2)  When you look at your second source from Forbes- did you realize that the person who wrote it is a CONTRIBUTOR with no scientific data to back his conlusions?  I happen to have be a licensed Insurance Agent for over 30 years.  The largest insurance companies (who pay the claims) have not been able to draw conclusions about talking and driving as the number of incidents per million miles (determines the rates charged for coverage) have not been statistically different enough to go to state insurance commissioners to ask for rate increases due to talking and driving at the same time.  The states that have enacted Hands Free Laws did so for 1 reason- if a person has 2 hands free to try to avoid an accident there is a higher probability that a driver will maintain control of their own vehicle vs. 1 hand.  Can we stick to the subject- Do you think that APPLE should have made the IPhone 6 Compatible with Bluetooth Headsets and why haven't they done so yet?

  • Bluetooth Headset in Windows XP with Boot Camp

Does anyone know how to get a Bluetooth Headset to work on XP under Boot Camp?
XP does recognize the device but I'm unable to get audio i/o through the headset.

Windows XP SP2 does not support BlueTooth headsets, check http://www.windowsdevcenter.com/pub/a/windows/2005/07/05/bluetooth.html

  • I have Oracle Wireless Bluetoth Headset NoiseHush N500 and for some reason it will not connect to my iPhone 4.  Can Apple send me a bluetooth headset that is compatiable with the iPhone 4?

Can Apple please send me a compatiable bluetooth headset?

This is a user to user forum.  But I'm sure Apple would be happy to send you a compatible Bluetooth headset if you purchase one from the Apple Store.  You could also order one from someplace like Amazon.com.

  • Is bluetooth headset BH-101 compatible with Nokia ...

I have a Nokia 6300 phone and a BH-101 bluetooth headset. The problem is that when i take a call through the bluetooth headset, the person at other end hears an echo of his own voice. I checked and didnt find the BH-101 headset under the compatible headsets for the Nokia 6300.Also, my phone has a old firmware (6.6), the latest one available being 7.21
So, is the echo problem due to the firmware or is it due to the compatibility issue???
Some one please tell me .....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

No it is a common problem recently bought a BH-101 for my Nokia 6220 and everyone i spoke to on my phone complained of the echo. I took the BD-101 back and received a free replacement but it still echo'ed.
Yesterday i received a new Nokia N85. Still the same problem!
What is Nokia doing about this? Nothing!

  • Review A2DP Bluetooth Headset Sony HBH-DS200 with Leopard 10.5.1

    Hello, this is first post...
I'm sorry if my English is not perfect.
I wanted to buy a headset A2DP after discovering that the Leopard supported .... so I decided to create a mini-review.
Yesterday I bought A2DP Bluetooth Headset Sony HBH-DS200
    Matching perfect
Stop / Pause link headphones perfect
Quality sound good but not perfect, but its is clear frequencies seem that the clips are (too high frequencies).
Now I wanted to try under bootcamp and see what result to arrive.
    At the next update.
PS: Some of you have tried this headset or other headphones a2dp? HTC S100? As a new feature of Leopard seconds you can resolve this problem? Thank you

I just bought the SE HBH-DS220. It sounds really good when connected to itunes as well as to my W910i. I cannot hear any noticable difference between this and when I have a wired connection to the computer or phone. If you turn the volume to max on the clip it even plays a bit louder through the headphones, which is just a plus in my book as they don't distort the sound at all.

  • S11 flex Bluetooth headset no longer works with ios7

Unit connects but sound plays through iPhone or iPad. S11 is not available (even though connected) in Airplay Listing. If I hold down  mute button SIRI come on through head set. If I tell SIRI to play play list the playlist plays but music still plays through speakers on iPhone

I have a similar problem -- iPhone5, when I installed IOS 7 the S11 Motorola HD headset is NOT an option in airplay for the itunes Music player. S11 can be used for calls.  S11 is also NOT an option for Pandora OR TuneIn Radio.  However... I have a big Jambox AND appleTV that BOTH show up as working options on the iphone (thankfully).
Here is the kicker -->  The S11 DOES show up as Music player output option on my IOS7 iPad3 !!! It also allows jambox or appleTV as output options.   Seems like the problem lies with Iphone5, bluetooth,IOS7, and the S11 Motorola headset interface.
This is a BUG !!!!   Please fix it.

  • My bluetooth headset is not working with my iPad2.

I have also tried this headset with my Android Razr and I am having the same problem: the devices will "pair," but sound will not come out of the headset. Instead the sound continues to come out from the speakers. From what I have learned, this means the devices are simply not connecting. Is there a reason for this? I just got this headset. It is brand new, and I will be furious if it turns out to be faulty!

    Hi hopegreenie,
The troubleshooting I would recommend is this:
