Bluetooth (in-car) connection, following upgrade.

Hi folks,
I've recently moved to a Q10, which was fine overall. Just updated to 10.2.1.2102, as I thought it would be o.k. but now I cannot to get the phone to automatically connect with the car when re-starting. It's a Mercedes. Prior to the update, all was fine. Anybody else had similar issues?
Is it possible to 'back out' the upgrade?

Update: Vodafone now refer me to Blackberry and even provided a number for me, which (because I'm not their customer) further referred me to their 'complimentary support service'...their website.
To be fair, some digging around revealed:
http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do;jsessionid=D0429A4745A2C6D4AA1D867C7312A7AC?...
Now I have no time, nor desire, to get into a philosophical debate, as to whether this is BB's or MB's problem, other than to say it worked fine before BB changed it.
I'm off to buy a couple of can of beans and a roll of string <hashtag ffs>

  • E66 bluetooth and car connection failed

    Hi All,
Please help if anyone knows the answer. I have an E66 purchased in Dubai and I live in Dubai. I tried connecting its bluetooth with my car, Volvo XC60. It gets connected and soon disconnects. A friend of mine advised me to remove all contacts in the phone and pair the device with the car and disable the contact synchronization in the car. It is not working at all. How can I succesfully connect the phone to the car. Appreciate your kind support.

  • Unable to connect following upgrade 9.2.0.4 - 9.2.0.6

A client is having trouble connecting to one of their databases via Visual studio 2003 since I recently upgraded from 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.6.
I have scoured Metalink but can see no required driver updates or recorded issues to do with upgrading the database.
Has anyone else come across this and knows of problem/solution, or is it possible that the oracle version is hardcoded somewhere for Visual Studio?

    Hi,
You don't give the error number they are getting, but a common source of problems during upgrades is forgetting to copy the tnsnames.ora file to the new oracle home.

  • Since updating to iOS 5, my bluetooth and signal have been destroyed. Before the update, the phone worked perfectly, connecting to my bluetooth in car for both calls and music. Reception was also perfect. Now, my bluetooth doesnt work, and I cant be heard

Since I updated my iphone 4 software from 4.3.3/4.3.5 - bought brand new only 2 weeks before the update came out - to iOS 5, my bluetooth no longer works in me ford fiesta and when I ring people, they literally can not hear a word I say. It has nothing to do with poor signal areas as they are the same areas I was in with the same phone before the software update! i have even sent for a replacement phone and received a reconditioned phone (after paying excess charge - JOKE!) and the same problem occured when I updated again. I cannot believe there is no downgrade as this iOS 5 is a shambles and to be honest, I see very little difference in terms of apps and photos so i have no idea why apple are recommending this upgrade!
Is there anything I can do to improve the fact that nobody can hear me on the phone when I speak?!! Or are apple going to insist I keep a phone that is of no use to me if I can't actually use it as a PHONE!
    Please please help!

    Hi,
Thanks! I forgot to add, I have debonded and rebonded the bluetooth in car and phone and have carried out 3 restores on the phone in my ITunes. All to no avail. I have also jsut spent £40 on a lead from Ford that has made no difference too! I went to them today to request a software upgrade on my car as I though perhaps the lack of connectivity in the car was down to the car being behind the iOS5 software but was informed there was no need for an upgrade and this problem is purely an apple problem! Is there any way around the downgrade? Or are apple gong to resolve this problem at all??

  • Since upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 docks and car connection stopped working

Since I upgraded my iPhone last night, my iHome dock, Philips dock and BMW car connection are failing.  When connecting the phone to the docks I get a "This accessory not supported" message on the phone and when I hook it up in the car the car display plays music but is stuck on displaying only the name of the first song and doesn't change when moving from one song to another.

Exactly the same.  Upgraded to 5.1.1.  Now docking port on BMW X5 2009 has stopped working completely...flashes back and forth on the screen "audio accessory connected" to the album covers, 1-2 times per second.  Absolutely no music. The car no longer sees the phone.  Bluetooth voicecalls work fine.
Also, "accessory not supported" flashes constantly on my Bose stero dock.  If I repeatedly plug in the phone I can get it to work 1/2 the time.
iphone that can't play music......great.  How was this missed on QA?
    Anyone know Tim Cook's email??

Had the same problem this morning after updating to 10.8.2. Mail was finding my dot-mac account as always, but System Preferences popped up and said my iCloud password was incorrect. Did the "forgot password" reset, but still had the same problem. Then I went to icloud.com in Safari, logged in with the new password, it worked no problem. So I went back to the icloud preference pane, signed out of icloud, answered yes to all the warnings about data being deleted from my mac, blah blah blah, then re-signed in to icloud. Everything worked. I did have to set up my icloud account in Mail again, which now lists the account mailbox as "iCloud", and not "mac.com" as it did before. But so far, everything is working (fingers crossed.)

  • HT204387 what is the bluetooth pairing default code to connect to bluetooth device (car).

What is the bluetooth pairing code to connect to bluetooth device (car) for iphone 4 w 7.os

first you must put your iphone in the discover mode by going to bluetooth on your phone which places it in discovery mode. Them you must go to your car's bluetooth discovery mode and place it in discovery mode. If the phone sees the car and visa versa, the car will give you a code to place into your phone. Once you put the code into the phone the two will be linked. Make sure that your car has "automatic" link set so that your phone will link every time you turn on the ignition. Refer to your car's manual for more help or go to your dealer, they should be able to help you or even do it for you, but you need to know how to be able to discover and then link bluetooth devices yourself because every bluetooth device uses the same discovery formula especially if you want to use your IOS devices to play music through your system using bluetooth.

  • Unable to connect to WiFi Network Following Upgrade to OS X 10.9.1

I wanted to post thus to ask if anyone is experiencing issues with WiFi following upgrading to 10.9.1?
    On Monday I upgraded to 10.9.1 from 10.9.  Immediately following the install and reboot, plus for the next four hours - all was well.  I have booted up the MacBook this evening and now I am unable to connect.  The following is being reported in Console;
time airportd: _doAutoJoin: Already associated to "network name". Bailing on auto-join
time kernel: Airport: Link a Down on en1. Reason 8 (Disassociated because station is leaving)
I have connected to the network many times previously without an issue.  My iPad, iPod and my iPhone connects fine.  Also a couple of a Windows 7 SP1 machines connect fine.
I have saved out the airport plits file, creating new settings from scratch - didn't work.  Rebooted, etc - didn't work.  Put the initial plist file back - still doesn't work.  Currently unable to reboot the router.
Is this an issue with 10.9.1?

Got it working...  Needed to reconfigure the Network settings and reboot the router.

  • IPhone 5 the bluetooth isn't connecting on phone or to car it drops off all the time

please help lately my bluetooth on iPhone 5 doesn't stat connected. I tries the soft reboot, and reset. I power off and power on it only works for a few minutes.

    Hi AMRS11,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article linked below has some great tips that should be able to help you resolve the intermittent Bluetooth connection issue that you described.
    iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4562
Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find
Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory.
Position your iOS device and Bluetooth accessory in direct line of sight of each other. For example, move the Bluetooth accessory and iOS device to the same side of your body.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if performance improves.
Check for sources of potential interference and move both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory away from other electronic devices.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
If your device is still experiencing issues
If the steps above have not resolved the Bluetooth behavior you are experiencing, perform a software restore in iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your iOS device in iTunes, contact Apple for support and service options.
    Notes:
If needed, refer to your Bluetooth accessory documentation or manufacturer for assistance.
Some Bluetooth accessories may require a firmware update for full compatibility with iOS devices such as a firmware update for AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth compatibility.
    Cheers!
    -Jason

  • My Bluetooth also stopped working in my car when I upgraded to IOS 7. I have an iPhone 4 and 2011 Volvo C70.

Bluetooth not working since I upgraded to iOS 7. Everyone is having this problem. Please fix it.

It should still work but have noticed it takes longer than usual to pair compared to prior version.

  • Bluetooth won't connect to JBL Flip

Is there a fix for Bluetooth yet?  My iOS7 upgrade worked for about 15 minutes and then sound jumbled and now won't work.  I removed the device and tried to pair it again with my JBL Flip. The phone sees the JBL but wont pair.  All of us in the house that upgraded are having the same issue  I'm pretty ticked Apple wouldn't fully test something so basic. I see others are having the same problem with many other devices.

    I found the solution.
    Start bluetooth on the iPhone
Start the JBL speaker, the button lights blue and you hear a short warning-sound.
Now push the startbutton on the JBL again and hold it.
    The light turns red.
Look at the iPad and after a short period the name JBL pops up.
Stop pushing the "red" button at the JBL
Select the JBL name at the iPad to connect.
When it is connected or paired, your done.
The next time you want to connect the JBL you do not have to repeat the above, because your iPhone knows you have a JBL.

    Hello,
I recently upgraded to 10.5.8 and I'm now experiencing issues with network connectivity following the iMac waking from sleep. I have to stop Airport and then start it again to resolve the issue.
Can you provide any resolutions to this or advice?

  • IPhone 5's Bluetooth Not Staying Connecting For Continuity Support on Yosemite

    Devices:
Macbook Pro Mid-2010 running OSX 10.10.2
    Iphone 5 running iOS 8.1.3
*NOTE: I understand that due to the version of the Bluetooth protocol in my machine, not all continuity features are available (Handoff, Air Drop, MBP Instant Hotspot)
However SMS to IMessage and the ability to make and receive calls from my Mac should be OK according to Apple's system requirements one-sheeter:
System requirements for Continuity on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac - Apple Support
    ================================================================================ =====================
    Here's my problem.
I finally took the plunge last night and updated my iPhone 5 from 7.1 to 8.1.3 to access the iCloud Drive and additional continuity features integrated into Yosemite.
When I tried to pair my iPhone 5 with my MBP over Bluetooth, all seemed to go well for the first 5 seconds.
    - Both devices were in discovery mode.
    - Mac saw the phone and displayed a security code
    - iPhone displayed the same security code and asked if I would like to pair with MBP
    - Pairing took place. Each devices Bluetooth profile / device showed up in my MBP Bluetooth's Preferences  and in my iPhone's Bluetooth.
    - 5 seconds later, there's no connection between devices.
    My iPhone displays:
"Connection Unsuccessful: Make sure [Macbook Pro] is turned on and in range." (The phone is 5 inches away)
Then sometimes I get this message:
"Connection Unsuccessful: [Macbook Pro] is not supported.
No rhyme or reason between the two either.
Here's the baffling part: When I activate my Phone's HotSpot function, the Bluetooth works and connects with my MBP allowing it to use my cell phone network's data for internet connectivity.
I don't understand what is going on or how to correct this? Can anyone succinctly explain how to correct this problems in layman terms?
If the devices can communicate long enough to exchange security codes and verify their identities, then use Hotspot,  there is clearly a data exchange happening. Where is the break down taking place when it comes time to stay connected to so I can continue to use the limited continuity features.
I've seen this question posted before by people having problems with many different model years of MBP including the most recents models, so I know it's not mutually exclusive to my model year, but cannot seem to find clarity on an answer.

I wish Apple would have provided more detail on how it worked. I wouldn't have posted this if I new that SMS & Mac Calling had nothing to do with Bluetooth pairing.
You mean like this? Get help using Continuity with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite
Please note how Apple articulates this though.
    Check your settings
Check the following settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network by going to Settings > Wi-Fi and comparing the name of the network each is on.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
Go to Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps and make sure Handoff is on.
Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
Sometimes things have to be explained in more detail for the general consumer who has been conditioned for decades to think about wireless  cellphone audio / light data to [anything other device else] connectivity in a certain fashion. That is to say Bluetooth dependent ...
For the non-technical person, which overwhelmingly many Apple users are, they would see that bulleted point and think if Bluetooth is not paired and active, then they would not received the full scope of their Continuity features.
It would have been better for the copywriter who wrote this to (*) footnote this entry and explain that while Bluetooth recognition may be necessary between Yosemite and iPhone, SMS Push to iMessage and Mac Calling does not require an actively paired connection as these functions are dependent on iCloud and both devices being registered on the same WiFi network.
Thank you to all who helped me get my mind around and figure this out.
It has also opened my eyes to how iCloud has become a critical link in Apple's overall walled garden  and business strategy.
