Bluetooth, iPhone 5, Motorola S805

Just received a brand new iPhone 5.  Trying to pair Motorola S805 headphones via bluetooth and the two devices will simply not connect.  In fact, the iphone 5 perpetually searches for the device and it won't recognize and allow me to pair?

Hello Rudegar and thank you for your reply.  The problem I'm experiencing seems to be familiar within the "mac forum" community as I've read several threads that detail bluetooth connection issues with the ios 6.  One caveat that I failed to disclose is that I use the iCloud service as well as Home Share.  I don't know if enabling these features has somehow conflicted with my iPhone 5 and the Motorola headset to connect via bluetooth or what.  Also, before I purchased my iPhone 5, I had an iPhone 4 but did not upgrade to ios 6, never had an issue pairing the 4 with my Motorola headphones.
Based on recent mac forums detailing connectivity issues in pairing iphone 5 (ios 6) with bluetooth enabled devices, would it be fair to conclude that this might be an apple issue due for an update?  Thanks Rudegar!

  • Does this Work With Iphone? MOTOROLA S9 BLUETOOTH HEADSET

I have heard that this works with Iphone? MOTOROLA S9 BLUETOOTH HEADSET ...does anyone know if it truly does or do you all know of a headset (over the head or behind the neck) one that does?
< Edited by Host, for your protection, no personal information please. >
    Thanks
    Bill

I was in a wireless store when I inquired to a manager about this product (S9 Motorola Bluetooth Wireless Headset), and asked if it worked with both the iPod and phone capabilities of my iPhone....to which this manager replied that she knew for a fact that she had read on the apple support forums that this product did, in fact work with both music and phone functionality, once paired.
I believe now that she was using this tactic to make more apple-endorsed-sales of this headset, and therefore get more commissions for her store. I mean every employee in the store was wearing them and toting that they worked flawlessly when asked, it was disgusting now that I think of it.
I called the store back up and asked to speak to that manager again, and she maintained that what she read was in fact true, even when I told her that I found that the iPhone does not currently support this headset's bluetooth technology, and that possibly what she read was that once paired the headset works with the phone part of the iPhone but not the iPod part.....she railed that she was correct and that what she read supported both, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, here on apple's support forums.
I think that wireless company employees with a new product that they cannot officially confirm compatibilities, should not go unchecked for spreading misinformation, merely to promote sales for walk-ins...its really terrible, especially on the biggest day of the shopping year and all the hype already created and money put into incentives to rush sales.
Don't believe the hype. Even the phone capability of the S9 headset is not stereo for the iPhone. Really not worth over a $100 for this kind of minor functionality.

  • Using 2G iPod Touch with Motorola S805 can't skip tracks

I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch running the 3.1.1 firmware and I just recently bought the Motorola S805 bluetooth headphones. For some reason, I can't use the built-in controls on the S805 to skip forward and back through tracks. The play/pause and volume controls work fine. I know that it is not a problem with the headphones because the skip controls worked with my music-enabled cell phone. Is this a compatibility issue on Apple's part by not being standardized with the AVCTP (Audio/Visual Control Transport Protocol) or just an issue that sometimes arises during pairing? Any input would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I found the answer -- apple devices do not full support bluetooth avrcp profile version 1.0. Apple only supports pause/play/stop.

  • Can i use the internet on the iPhone in this case (PC(connected Ethernet) ----Bluetooth --- iPhone(no wifi, no network, bluetooth only))

iPhone (no 3g, no wifi, enable bluetooth)
PC (connected ethernet, enable bluetooth )
PC (connected Ethernet)  <----- Bluetooth <------ iPhone : is possible ?

Because you cannot. The iPhone will not allow you to connect to an internet source via Bluetooth. It does not support that profile. If your PC will support Bluetooth, will it support creating its own wi-fi network? Can you transmit/receive wi-fi from the PC? If you can do that, you can connect to that wi-fi network with your phone.
Sorry, just read you did not have wi-fi on the phone. Why not?

  • IPhone 5 wont setup airplay via Bluetooth. iPhone 5s will successfully setup airplay via Bluetooth.

iPhone 5 wont setup airplay via Bluetooth. iPhone 5s will successfully setup airplay via Bluetooth.
    Both iPhones are 7.1.

Is the Apple TV up to date?
Note: airplay still requires both to be on the same wifi network. The bluetooth feature is only for discovery, in place of using bonjour, and most useful for business/school networks.

Bluetooth Iphone 4 don't work with other device?

Could be a problem with the contacts on your iPhone's connector.  Try cleaning the contacts using compressed dry compressed air, blowing on the contacts using your mouth being carefully not to spit, or using a very soft dry brush.

  • NOKIA N96 + MOTOROLA S805 BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES

I have just bought the s805 headphones i can get them to pair perfectly well with most phones just not my n96, i think the reason for this is they self authorise instead of asking for an authorisation code ie 0000, does anyone know how to change this back so it can ask for the code to properly pair them, as it will pair and then disconnect straight away without this
    Any help greatfully appreciated

  • Bluetoothing iPhone & Earpieces

Hello, I have been unable to connect my Southwing Dual Headset with Microphone to allow me to listen to music, video news, make & receive calls. Also unable to connect my single earpiece Motorola H700. What do I need to do? Thanks, Randy.

The bluetooth headset will only work to make and receive calls, not listen to music....
    Do the following
    Tap on..
    Settings > General > Bluetooth
Make sure the Bluetooth is set to "ON" and put the headset in pairing mode.
(for the motorola you should turn off the headset and then hold the power button until the light on the headset turns on.) then click on the headset on the iPhone and enter the pin (usually 1234, or 0000)

  • Original iPhone with Motorola t505

I purchased a Motorola t505 bluetooth handsfree car kit with an infinixx A2DP adapter. I am pleased to say that it works quite well in my car, including the FM transmission. This unit announces the number of the caller when a call comes in.
My only gripe is that for some reason the caller id does NOT work if the caller is in my contacts list. I paired the Motorola with my sister's phone (she also has a contact list but a Motorola Razor) and the caller id worked fine. I then had a friend call (took him out of my contacts list) and the caller id worked fine.
I won't take all of my contacts out to get this to work. Was wondering if anyone knew a way to fix this?
    Thanks.

I can tell you exactly why you can't play music. The original iPhone and iPhone 3G support bluetooth headset mode only, which means you can only pair with a bluetooth device for voice calls. Just FYI, FM pairing is actually called Bluetooth pairing.
Most other phones, even ones from 2007, support a full bluetooth profile, which includes playing music. For an unknown reason, Apple didn't start supporting this until the iPhone 3GS.

  • IPhone 4 and S805 headset

Hay I have been using a pair of Bluetooth DJ Headphones S805 with my 3g and i bought a the new iphone 4g on friday and i haven't been able to connect my headset
I've tried pairing it like 10 times and I've tried rebooting it, I've tried restoring the software (4.01) nothing works :\ did they stop supporting it? or can it be fixed?

Thanks Zebra1, your suggestion was also offered up on MacFixIt. I first tried a hard reset. No change. I then restored as new. No joy there either. The Bluetooth cut out within minutes of pairing back with my Plantronics Voyager Pro.
Nothing gained, I went to my Time Machine and restored from the last backup so I could retrieve all my individual app data. I will say this though, the frequency of disconnects is down to about a handful throughout the day and it only lasts 30 seconds.
As for the call clarity, it is a hit and miss. I do believe it is worse in the office as I have WIFi, computer equipment and a 2.4GHz cordless phone nearby that may be causing interference to the iPhone 4 antennas.

  • NOK N96 + MOTOROLA S805 HEADPHONES CONNECTIVITY IS...

I got the S805 to work with an E75 by holding on the on key for the s805 down until the light stays on. This is the s805 pairing mode. The phone then connected to the headphones without requiring 0000 using normal bluetooth connection searching for the device. This process is different to when a connected with a N95 the headphones were on (not in pairing mode) connected with using the 0000. Note s805 instruction are available from motorola site.
Once the phone has connected once there is no drama. Note before I put the headphones in pairing mode the e75 would not detect the headphones although other phones would.

  • Bluetooth not recognizing Motorola RAZR V3!!!  What should I do????

I have a Motorola RAZR V3 and my Intel Mac Mini won't recognize it!! It recognized it once and now it won't detect it. When I choose the send file option it shows my phone, but when I click send, it says "Unable to validate device". The bluetooth symbol on my RAZR stays on until I choose the "Send File" or "Set up Bluetooth Device" option, and then it goes off. I tried updating the firmware to version 1.2, but the updater said that there wasn't a Bluetooth module installed, when there is default with the computer. My computer's bluetooth address is 00-16-cb-0c-fb-38, and my computer's bluetooth firmware version is 3.1965 (3.1965). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Bluetooth iPhone 4s car stereo very quiet

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me with an audio problem. Sometimes when I connect by iPhone 4s to my car stereo via Bluetooth, the audio is very quiet. Even with my volume turned all the way up on my phone and car stereo. Then other times ill connect them and it'll play normal and very loud. And way to fix this so it's loud all the time?-(when's it's quiet I turn it all the way up and it's still like background noise...)
    TIA

I have the same problem with my iPhone 5S in my Subaru.  Until someone can offer a fix, I am resorting to using FM, only.
